It’s so cozy and relaxing to stay here. The best!! ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 But be mindful of what you’re wearing outside, the mosquitoes will drive you crazy!! They will warned you in the rooms. So when you go out must wear longsleeve and pants even it’s Hot!
I stayed at Sun Moon Lake Hotel 日月潭大饭店 for one night at the end of August and really enjoyed my stay. The room was huge, clean and comfortable, and I've booked a lake-view room. The scenery of Sun Moon Lake from the room was beautiful and definitely one of the highlights of my stay. The hotel also provides free bicycles, and there is direct access to the bicycle trail around the lake, which was really convenient. Although the hotel is not in the busiest area, they provide a shuttle service to and from Shuishe Pier, so it was still easy to get around. Breakfast had a good variety, with typical Taiwanese breakfast and cooked dishes, plus some Western options. But what really stood out to me was the staff and their warm hospitality. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, and they genuinely went the extra mile whenever I had questions or needed assistance. As I was staying here for my birthday, the hotel even prepared a birthday cake and kept it in the fridge for me. 🎂 I was especially touched by Concierge Staff, Ray who went one step further and even sang a birthday song for me! It was such a simple but incredibly warm gesture, and it really made my birthday stay extra special. Thank you to Ray and the whole team for making me feel so welcomed. It’s the kind of hospitality that makes a stay memorable. Would definitely recommend Sun Moon Lake Hotel and would be happy to stay here again!
Genuinely one of the best hotels out there. Saw a lot of comments about the rooms being dated so I was initially concerned but was pleasantly surprised. The room was gorgeous, views beautiful, and there was even a giant onsen like bath in each room. Rooms were clean, staff professional. Kids loved the arcade had super new technology, kareoke, Wii, playground, etc. breakfast was super tasty. will be coming back.
Good spacious rooms. Good breakfast and location. Nice playground arrear in the basement for both children and adults. The free bikes are OK. But a few things could be better. The café in the lobby needs to improve their act. Why have an expensive espresso machine and then not offering coffee? Regards John Jensen
The location is nice. We had a lake-view room and honestly, that did a lot of the heavy lifting. The room itself was spacious, but dated and dark. The bathroom deserves its own paragraph. The handheld shower had serious water pressure — great if you like feeling power-washed, so make sure not to turn it up all the way. There’s also a rainfall shower option, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately, the bathroom door seal wasn’t doing its job, so water escaped freely and turned the floor into a mini lake. We had to ask for extra mats just to safely exist. There was also some type of sticky residue on the toilet seat (I didn't want to know what it was). Breakfast was fine. Not memorable, not offensive — it got the job done. Overall, an okay stay with an excellent view. Some maintenance on the bathroom seal, clean the toilets and update the room a little and this place will level up fast.
