Fantastic guide, very spooky atmosphere which is hardly surprising given the building. You must do this tour for the experience, and if you're wondering yes I did feel a few things... But my friend didn't! Would love to go back just out of curiosity.

The tour was great! The tour guide was very funny and interacted with the whole group. A really fun thing to do when in the area.
Highly recommend! John was an amazing guide. Very informative and a great sense of humour. It was one of the highlights of our trip
Super fun experience! We had John as our guide and he was brilliant - very funny and knowledgeable. The perfect mix of spooky and silliness (without it being childish or too jumpscare-y!) Nothing significant happened to us but the stories of previous groups and the history of the building was super interesting to hear about, thank you!
We've done a few ghost tours now and this was one of the best. The guide (sorry I've forgotten his name) was brilliant, friendly, funny and knowledgeable. The actual tour takes you through a Tudor period house, so there are uneven floors and low ceilings. Of course we didn't encounter anything, but the experience does make you feel it could be possible. All in all it's a great way to spend an hour, and for under a tenner each what's not to like! Oh and as I said to the guide, this is better than the York Ghost Bus!
Fun, quirky and packed with great local stories of murder and deaths. Our guide was fantastic, funny and a great storyteller. I do think the building being used as a school during the day (with all the necessary safety signage and learning props) does detract a little from the spookiness, but for the money it's a great hour of fun.
Enjoyable trip with our guide Wilfred. Thank you
Very spooky , especially the tight stairs & low Tudor ceilings. Room were decorated beautifully with scary stuff & only one lantern between the group. Went into a room where the temperature dropped to chilly & the lantern went off!!! Crazy…….
Thoroughly enjoyed our tour, our guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining as he 'read the room' very well x a great learning experience x well worth the money x
We had such a fantastic time! John Fairfoot was our guide, very knowledgeable, extremely funny and knows how to tell a good story! This was the first ever ‘ghost tour’ we’ve been on, I love history and especially Tudor history, and I thought my boyfriend might find it boring but he thoroughly enjoyed it! Nothing too scary, really interesting history in the dark, it feels eerie but a truly great time had! Well worth it!
Wilfred Warden did a real good job of telling us the stories of the place. Lovely building. Perfect for family or with mates, nice end to an evening. If you like old stories, lore and history would definitely recommend. Lighthearted but interesting too.
This was a fun history tour. Can you spot Wilfred the Warden in the photo.
Wilfred the Warden was really good! Very good tour and very scary. The only downside was there were a few drunk people in our group and one of them kept on going on her phone, which was a bit distracting. Maybe the guides could ask people to stay off their phones? Apart from that, it was an amazing tour
The tour guide was great the history and building was beautiful and well worth the travek
We were expecting something different, something scary. Like a ghost tour should be. This is more like a history tour in the dark, around a museum with posters on the wall and a museum shop. The guide was ok; good voice and well rehearsed. But the only scary bits were him banging his stick in the floorboards a couple of times. Seemed to us that there were several missed opportunities for creating and really up very scary hour. One way would’ve been to have the involvement of more than one person from the tour team. Perhaps someone making creaking noises in the background or providing foot steps in passageways in the dark. Even the installation of a couple of discreet buttons that the tour guide could push providing screams from a nearby room. But no, there was none of that; just one guy. So we were disappointed a bit.
An amazing experience well worth the price, what gives life and depth to all of it is Wilfred our tour guide, he was fantastic I would happily go again and suggest it to anybody. Thank you Wilfred for the fantastic tour
Great experience our tour guide john fairfoot was amazing very knowledgeable and funny made the experience the house was beautiful cant wait to see it in the light would recommend if you like the dark side of history!
We were in Stratford for a couple of days and always like a ghost tour so decided to give this a go. As we visited in August, it was still light outside so doing it inside with the lights off seemed to make sense! We didn’t have time to visit the museum in the day time and didn’t book ahead. We were therefore advised to turn up early and bring cash to pay (they turn the power off so can’t accept card payments!). It is £9.50 per person which is a little pricey for what you get. The website says adults only (minimum age 16) but my daughter is 14 and they allowed her to do it. She loves horror stories and was not scared in the slightest. The tour itself took slightly less than the advertised 1 hour (maybe due to the size of the group?). It was surprisingly dark inside and we were guided through the museum by the light of two electric lamps. Due to the age of the building, it has uneven floors and low ceilings; it is not suitable for anyone with mobility problems or claustrophobia! We were told some interesting ghost stories as we moved from room to room and the guide had a good sense of humour. I of course have no idea whether the stories were true but you definitely have to use your imagination. There are no special effects or jump scares. All in all, this was a reasonable experience and I’m happy to support a local business. If you want to be scared, I’d recommend the nearby Warwick Dungeon instead. This is cheaper but I think you have to combine it with a visit to the castle; which is expensive if you don’t have ‘English Heritage’ membership.
Thought there was going to be visual effects included, it was just a story but was fairly Interesting and the guide was dressed in Tudor outfit fit which was a good effect. I had booked with my grandchildren who were 15 and 12 and a half and I was made to feel rather comfortable by how the guide spoke to me in front of the other people on the tour, as he said was not really for under 14 s, and gave me a lecture, I had googled this prior to booking and it had said not recommended for under 14s but if with an adult they could go. They were both fine and as we have done the dungeons tours in the past I found they were more full on than this was.
Fun, interactive and talkative. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience walking through a haunted house, I saw some creepy shadows on the stairs when standing on the landing. That creeped me out hella.
This was one of those excellent mix of spooky and humour. Our guide John was not just filled with anecdotes and stories but also engaging and personally interacting. This was both good value and filled with more than a few chills! We entered a particular room where o felt queasy but then the story John told explained to me why! If you are visiting Stratford on Avon this tour is a must!
This was a superb experience! I can't remember the name of our guide but he was superb! I'll put a pic of his character. I would imagine all the tour guides are as great. Made the whole experience fun as well as spooky! We were welcomed very professionally and instantly felt part of the tour. There are no jump scares. No one jumps out at you. The only 'beat' is our guide banged his stick or raised his voice for atmosphere. You're taken around the museum, which we had visited in the day and told ghost stories mingled with historical fact. Really great! There's a flight of stairs to go up and down. Not sure of accessibility considering it's an old building. One family were asked the age of children attending (I think this is just a caution....I would say it's suitable for young kids so long as the supervising adult thinks they will be okay). A couple of total black outs for effect but still, no one jumps out....it's just one guide. Low beams! My fella is 6 foot 6 so had to be careful. Overall I totally recommend this experience. Especially if you're not a fan of the walking tours.
Expect to be very well educated from John and the team. This was a very enjoyable and entertaining event.
Fantastic tour! John was a really engaging and entertaining guide. Highly recommend for anyone passing through the town
Sent hubby and daughter while I babysat the dog. Met by the guide in tudor costume at the main entrance. Taken into the building, very atmospheric, lights were off, minimal lighting but could see to get around. Taken around the museum (reverse to the normal day time museum) told about the various people that had died in that location and the 'ghosts' that haunt the building. About an hour although their group was small so a little quicker. They came back unscathed and informed. Donate for the little book as its really informative.
Went last year but forgot to write a review. Great fun, one of the best ghost walks I’ve done, like that it was round a building…
Had a great time. Really good fun. Well worth a visit.
This was so much fun! Our guide ‘Fairfoot’ entertained and scared! The atmosphere was super spooky and we loved it! Would highly recommend!
Amazing ghost tour! Really interesting and our guide was excellent! Highly recommend!
Our trip to the Tudor World Ghost Tour was an impromptu decision when looking for an evening out and what a fantastic decision it was. At 6pm the four of us had a fabulous pub meal at the Rose and Crown pub immediately opposite the Tudor Museum. At 7:45 we went across to the tour meeting point, by the museum book shop and were greeted by our guide for the night, Wilfred, a relatively small man with a huge voice and a personality to match. Once all the 8pm group had assembled, making 12 of us the tour started. Wilfred regaled us with stories of death and ghosts right from the start, the ghosts put into historical context by Wilfred that was both interestingly educational and extremely entertaining, involving members of the party throughout. would not say we cried but we were horrified, amused and shocked in turn with the stories and descriptions of the ghosts and the terrible ends they met during the turbulent lives they lived back in the day, quite a lot of it revolving around the times of Bill Shakespeare and the Tudor King Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth 1st. We used our Ghost Vision mobile app SLS camera in several of the rooms and were delighted to find visual and recorded evidence that was believed by all showed the ‘spirit’ of Lucy, a young girl of between 8 and 11 years of age who was severely burned in the post plague fire and believed dead but was actually in a coma and came to under the surgeons knife as he began to cut her up for his study, only to kill the poor girl then, this in the year 1596. Hardly surprising that she still haunts the old house. Each room is more interesting than the last and the hour of the tour passed much too quickly. We would all have liked to go for a second tour. Very highly recommended.
Started off great but unfortunately my adult daughter found it too unsettling, would book again for myself as didn’t get to complete the tour. Guide was great for what we saw and quickly took us to exit. she wouldn’t go in during the day either as too sensitive, not for the faint hearted
Our guide, Fairfoot, had the task of leading a small group around Tudor World and telling us about its history. Although we were quite quiet, he was able to keep us all entertained and kept the energy up. It was interesting to hear about the ghost stories associated with their building and is well worth a visit, especially for its price.
Great fun with spooky stories and enthusiastic guide. My partner was the one that got picked on to help the guide with carrying the lanterns and it did make the experience more entertaining.
Good fun, entertaining, worth the cost.
Good fun. Guide was brilliant!
Our guide John was brilliant . He made the tour very entertaining but also bringing about the history and element of fear , telling different ghostly experiences within the building
The host was very good! She was very knowledgeable and funny! Even when we encountered some ghostly activity that spooked her she did well! Also she was a good laugh! The tour itself is great value for money, if you got a spare hour in Stratford it’s well worth it!
John Fairfoot was a great storyteller will lots of knowledge about the history of the building, was enjoyable
The tour was just in the dark talk. Host was funny so if you want a staged entertainment is ok but it’s not serious or spooky and you don’t see much in museum as dark
Wilfred the warden is a amazing funny comedic man with vast knowledge and made this experience one I will never forget Wilfred all I can say is thank you for the amazing experience! Kieran and kira.
Really Great and Funny experience. Our Guide Winifred was amazing and really immersive in the experience. My Girlfriend Evie loved being picked on 😂
Really fun experience, great stories, enthusiastic guide, was interesting and quite scary!
The experience was a good one the little irchin women who done the tour was good and funny tour seemed to be a little short we even experienced a few ghostly knocks no one could explain
Wilfred's is an excellent tour guide. Superb and engaging with all of the group. Brilliant fun, excellent history of the various ghost. And spooky in the dark.
The girl taking the tour was fab

Great little tour, our guide was a brilliant storyteller and made everyone feel included. Thanks, Florence 2.0.

Spooky and fun! Our guide was John, who told us very interesting stories and added some humour and the tour was very atmospheric, we were glad we did it, and are happy to recommend it.
