Excellent day! Plenty of time to explore four villages on the wine route, each distinctive and interesting. My husband walks very slowly, and the guide was very attentive and solicitors. We were very tired by the time we got back to the hotel but felt the time was very well spent.
Mahmout who drove us on Sunday was extremely kind, helpful and informative
The places we visited were beautiful and we visited a lot of places. And had enough time in each place. But don’t expect a tour guide who would explain things to you. It’s more like a driver service where you get dropped off and given free time. The guide didn’t speak good English. There was no humorous commentary or anything like that. I also think we should have gone to Colmar first instead of at the end of the day when it was getting dark.
This was perfect. Not too long anywhere and not too short. Enough time to walk around the castle, spend some time in the cities and shop and dine. Beautiful clean bus, multilingual driver that and beautiful views. Martin (our driver) was attentive and would occasional pass us in the town and make recommendations. Very professional and nice. He would pause the bus at the stops/sites along. The way, look up and make sure everyone had gotten photos if they wanted before he proceeded. Great experience!
We had a delightful day. This is a long trip - we left at 9 and returned at 7.30 and that meant we had plenty of time at each stop. Each visit was stunning and the 4 main stops were supplemented by dries through a range of other pretty villages. A great way to get a feel for the environment outside Strasbourg. HIghly recommended!
A great excursion, enough free time at each place. Beautiful country side scenery. Professional service
All in all it was a great experience. The castle was really cool! The only thing that I would suggest is if a meeting place is going to be changed along a route in one of the villages is to make it a little more clear where that meeting place is. In the US, most of us don’t know that La Poste is post office. So we didn’t explore that one village because we were worried about being left there. So we went immediately to find “La Poste” and only had about 10 minutes left. We are limited French speakers so maybe not a big deal for those who have more French speaking ability than we do.
Really great day trip st see parts of France we would have not seen on our own. Driving through the countryside and hearing the history of the old villages and winemaking region of the Alsace was great. Exploring many of the villages, ir felt like you stepped back into a Disney Storybook. You expected Belle to pop out at any corner. Good food. Good wine. I would have enjoyed a stop in Bergheim, rather than just a drive through, as it seemed the most beautiful, historic and picturesque. The tour does take you through a lot of very interesting little towns, and maybe a couple substitutions could be taken into effect on future tours
Great trip for those who are not interested in driving. The tour was well organized with audio recordings of the entire route. Tickets to the chateau were included in the the price. Enough time to explore in each village. Perfect for a day trip without the hassle of driving and looking for parking. Highly recommend!
Pick up was on time, and our driver was helpful and on time. The bus was comfortable with wifi and usb points by the seat. After our first stop, because the weather was so good, our driver opened up the roof which was a great touch. We could see a lot more of the views. A long but worthwhile day, and would highly recommend.
A long & tiring day , but so worth it .Our multilingual guide was excellent & explained meeting times & places clearly . The itinerary was spot on & there was sufficient time in each destinations to explore at a reasonable pace
Fantastic day! MouMou did the best job taking care of us and showing us even more than we expected. Perfect day!
We had Guillaume as the bus driver and guide. He was very nice and helpful. The places we visited were wonderful, lots of things to do at each stop.
It was a great tour and highly recommended. Our driver is friendly and considerate. He provide us the information on where to go. He is very punctual and he is a skilled driver. The length of visit to some areas seems long but it really boils down to individual preferences. Overall, this was an enjoyable trip that is highly recommended.
Absolutely awesome tour! Sebastien was the best tour guide ever! Do not hesitate to book! Loved, loved, loved it!!
Such a fun trip! Perfect amount of time per stop and we hit all the right spots! The convertible bus was fun too! Our tour guide, Sebastien, really stole the show though. He had a ton of interesting facts and ultimately made the tour worth it! I totally recommend this!
This was a great tour from beginning to end. The minibus was comfortable and AC was good, they gave out water, and the multilingual headphones were good. Each stop offered a great experience (alone time) with enough time to explore. The only confusing point is the pickup. Don’t go by the exact address in Google Maps. Get to the bus station and find the parking lot with the Flix buses. Other than that, everything was smooth, and good value for your money.
Enjoyed this trip very much, glad we saw a part of the Alsace region. Didn't feel rushed, Martin was great, attentive and helpful.
Great tour. Gorgeous locations, time to explore, comfortable bus and reasonable price. Highly recommend!
Martin was a friendly, considerate driver who pointed us to the main attractions. Comfortable coach and good audio guide that provided historic and other interesting details. We had enough time at each stop to explore, shop, and get lunch in Riquewihr. Martin provided us with bottles of water after each stop, which was much appreciated on our 32 degree day. Well planned day!
This is a must-do tour - the charm of these French villages were breathtaking! The driver, who was also our guide, William, was very pleasant, and I liked the idea that this was basically an independent tour. We had ample time to explore the Castle Haut-Koenigsbourg and the Alsace villages on our own. In Colmar, be sure to go into the Tourist office to get helpful tips and to view the Venice canal area. Be mindful, however, that this tour starts at the bus station which is not in the heart of Strasbourg so we needed to take a taxi to get there. It is initially confusing once there because of the many buses, but look instead for a large black passenger van bearing the tour logo for pick up. Unbeknownst to us, there were no taxi's at the bus station for the return trip to town, so we had to enlist the help of a local to assist with purchasing a tram ticket and which one to take us to the Strasbourg train station near our hotel.
Great way to see highlights of Alsace. A long day but plenty of free time in the towns. Very efficient way to see a lot.
A very good way to see the most of Alsace in one day. The castle Haut-Koenigsbourg is a stunning reconstruction. Careful, if you go there on Monday, it opens at 10:30. Your schedule will take a half an hour delay. Riquewihr and Kaysersberg are among the most beautiful villages of France. Colmar is a jewel. I wonder however if a 2 hour visit isn't a bit too short. The small train is practical but it's hard to take pictures. The "guide" is in fact the driver. The information is given by an audioguide. We are blessed with an excellent driver, Mohammed. I got lost while trying to get back at the meeting point under pouring rain in Kaysersberg. He called and came to find me! Thank you Mohammed!
Went to four locations, Enjoyed the trip. Our favorite village was Riquewihr. Driver was friendly and helpful.
We did not know what to expect and each little town was more enchanting. There are several places you just drive through to see and listen to their history, but the four major stops are well worth it. Note for TALL travelers, the bus is meant for short/small people. My wife and I are both over 6’ and we were lucky enough to get all four seats in the back of the bus - the middle seat can stretch their legs into the aisle. Our driver/guide - Miguel from Argentina - was excellent. He spoke three languages - French, English and of course Spanish - to accommodate our multi-national tour group. He also saw that I was trying to take a picture of the (small) Statue of Liberty when leaving Colmar. He went around the statue/roundabout twice to make sure we got the pic! Gracias!!
The only thing good about this tour, was the Chateau du Haut-Koenigsbourg castle, which was magnificent and Riquewihr. Kaysersberg and Colmar were disappointing. Colmar was far too commercialised, with few fairytale like buildings, unlike Riquewihr, which was Disney-like and magical. A special thank you to our driver Martin, who was very friendly and helpful.
We saw four main villages and drove through several others. All very quaint and lovely. We had just enough time at each stop to see everything without feeling too rushed or not long enough. The top and sides of the bus opens up for fresh air. Very nice day and good time with our driver, Sebastian.
Alsace region is really fantastic that many people I believe are not aware of. Being a frequent traveller, most travel European travel packages don't include Alsace regions. Martin our tour director is very nice and a very safe driver. He looks after the travellers. I give him 5 Star!!
Sebastian was courteous and made sure we had a great experience. We had plenty of time to tour all four sites. Since the weather was nice, he removed the windows in the coach van so we could travel in the open air, which was pleasant and we were able to get a better view of the vineyards and villages as we drove by.
Sebastian, the tour guide, did a good job and was entertaining. We enjoyed the transportation to the villages and through the French countryside. The castle was a bit disappointing based on the pictures online and there are quite a few steps, but there was plenty of time there to explore. The three city stops also gave plenty of time to explore but we found that the last two had several shops closed due to the time of day which was also disappointing. All in all, we would recommend the tour based on the scenic views and village exposures.
We left half an hour late because one of the passengers Could not find parking spot. The audioguide are on each Seat, and you can hear others and It’s a little annoying. The guides were nice and the 4 stops beautiful
Tour.Alsace provided a custom tour for our group of friends during our Viking Christmas Cruise. At the last minute, Viking changed our dock from Breisach to Volgelgrun. Sebastian adjusted and picked us up on time. Our first stop was the Château du Haut-Kœnigsbourg. After we climbed through the layer of fog, the Chateau was amazing! We arrived before the crowds to make it even better. We then stopped in Riquewihr and Colmar. Both cities were very crowded during Christmas market season, but Sebastian dropped us off in convenient locations and provided direction for exploring the cities on our own. We enjoyed a wine tasting in Riquewihr at his recommendation. While driving, we were able to listen to an audio tour with area information. The bus was clean and spacious. I would highly recommend as an alternative to planned riverboat cruise excursions.
Great tour visiting all the quaint Alsace villages along the wine route. Martin was excellent and the bus was very comfortable. Just the right amount of time at each stop.
We were not told that the castle : fort in the first stop was closed until we got there. I would have tried to reschedule if I knew ahead of time. Also the driver did not speak English ver we’ll
The castle and 2 out of the 3 villages are not reachable by public bus or trains unless we drive. Most people join local tours to get there. Our mini bus has headphones audio commentaries in many languages. It has an openable top which is really cool when the driver opens it up. This tour is suitable for the Free Spirited. Once you reach each location, the driver/guide will brief you in a minute how long is your self exploration time and where is the meeting point. You will be handed a map with checkpoints highlighted. The bonus for this tour is a free tram ride 40 mins in the last stop. This is very suitable as our legs are tired after walking much in the first 3 locations. The challenge for most people is to get to the main bus station, the meeting point in the morning . As we were staying near the central train station, we could get there using the tram and it is only 5 stops 10-15 mins away. It is a reccomended tour for sure!
The first three stops and the recorded history from the headphones were fantastic. The train ride through Colmar was just ok and we were ready to go home after that. The meeting place in Colmar was a little confusing - which side of the hotel? But it all worked out and our guide was a great driver.
Wonderful tour of the Alsace region and lovely historical towns. A friendly, cautious driver and sufficient time to explore.
Alsace Villages I would recommend this tour. It was a very long day but we saw so much. It packs in alot of things. Ricquewihr and Colmar so pretty.
Not a person giving a tour. Just driver. Hard to understand when he said where to meet. Given head sets to hear years of history that rambled on. Very long day, no advice on what to see in towns, where to eat, or highlights. Can not recommend. Go on your own or with private guide.
We had an excellent day with Martin from Tours d’Alsace! The tour is very well organized, the van is comfortable and the commentaries provided throughout the tour were well curated. We visited 4 sites and travelled through a number of villages as well. It is a very long day but an excellent way to discover the region. Highly recommended!
A great way to see several beautiful towns and villages on the wine route in Alsace. Each town we visited was picture postcard perfect and there was plenty of time to have a proper look around and get a bite to eat. A full day from 9:00 until around 6:45. The mini-coach is a great way to enjoy the views, when the roof is retracted. If (like me) you burn in a few minutes, grab a seat at the front where you stay under cover! And a good tip (particularly for the ladies!), arrive at the hotel collection point in Colmar early enough to grab a drink, so that you can make use of the hotel loos - almost worth paying €6 each for a cappuccino!!
Great tour without rush. Perfectly guided by Martin, very easy going guy, very professional and very safe driver. 👍
This tour was wonderful! We felt like it gave us the perfect amount of time in each location. Our tour guide was great and gave us good recommendations for things to do while we enjoyed various spots. I would definitely recommend doing this tour if you are curious about seeing more of Alsace!
Colmar is a Gorgeous city with a very long history. The buildings are so attractive. We also visited two other villages and a very large castle of Haut-Koenigsbourg. The castle is humongous!
My adult daughter and I really enjoyed this tour. The bus is comfortable, has outlets, and the top opens! It was really great for taking pictures. Our guide was very personable. He made sure we all knew where and when we’d meet up. He also described some of the locations. There is also a taped message to provide history and details. The towns were great to tour. Each one different. Tip: if you are very tall, you may not want to take the train in Colmar. It is a bit hard on folks with long legs and it takes a good deal of the time allotted to explore. I think this tour provided a good foundation and inspiration for future exploration. I really enjoyed it.
Everything was amazing! I would have just liked to have known in advance when would be good for lunch and also recs for lunch.
Very nice day trip. The audio guide was informative, the van comfortable, the driver attentive, the stops of good duration and the organization top!
I'm sorry that I cannot remember the name of our tour guide since I'm writing this review 2 weeks after the tour. However, I can say that he was great! We knew how much time we had at each stop and where to meet. We really enjoyed the stops listed for the tour. Since it was a sunny day, our guide was able to open the hood that allowed for even better pictures along the way.
It was a good tour although the bus was a bit small and crowded. Bars to assist getting on sre definitely needed Martin was a good guide
