"Le Petit Alsacien" Luxury Tour Local Private Friendly Driver

I was looking for an experience that could be customized a bit and from the moment I booked the tour, Steph reached out and helped us make our wine tour in the Alsace region something special. Our guide Stephania was knew her stuff so was informative and helpful, and a good driver in a beautiful area. The van was very comfortable. Steph-On-Tour coordinated to help us get our wine shipped to the USA, so we get to experience a bit of Alsatian wine again when the time is right!

Great price for private tour! Huge advantage to have pick up at cruise port. Driver was very nice and took us to some really great spots. Would have liked to learn a little more about regional history.

We had the most perfect day with Christophe. He personalized the itinerary for our family and shared wonderful stories about the region and its rich history. Everything ran smooth and easily. The highlight for me was the picnic spot we stopped at with vineyard views. We highly recommend this tour and only wish we had booked a longer one!

We lived in Strasbourg 20 years ago, and wanted to spend some time, enjoying Alsace. Christophe surprised us with experiences that we hadn’t enjoyed when we lived here and told us new things. He collected us at the train station, giving us a pin to find him and his car description, so it felt very secure. We finished and he took us to the entrance of Petite France so that we could stroll through the town at our leisure. Communication prior to our experience was very attentive and I believe that the owner, Stephane, made sure we had the perfect day. We will always contact them when we visit the area. Four of us enjoyed a lovely day in Alsace. Stephania was delightful, informative, personal and we appreciated her choices for the stops. The castle stop was very good and we all enjoyed it very much. Stephanea’s narrative in the van before each stop helped us know what we were going to experience. We enjoyed the time at the “laundry” stop. The cremant was a fun surprise and the scenery was beautiful. We highly recommend!

Steph and his employees are 10 stars. We originally thought we could rent a car and move between countries and quickly determined it was cost prohibitive. Another guide sent me to Steph and what a blessing. He is OUTSTANDING and each trip felt like 1st class. The drivers, the knowledge, suggestions, destinations, personality were all exceptional. He was so easy to work with and very helpful. We need transportation from Brussels to Strasbourg because the trains were not going to work, he helped us with this, the tours in Alsace he recommended were fantastic. He took us from Strasbourg to the Black Forest, which is beautiful, to Baden Baden and then to Munich. It made our trip so easy and fun. I wish he covered all of Europe. If you are looking for an outstanding guide, reasonable rates, exceptional service Step on Tour is your man to contact. Note: I have used other transportation and tour companies, I prefer Steph because of the flexibility, private group and again the cost was very reasonable. I've never found one as good as him in other areas of Europe.

We did an awesome tour with Stephania. Stephania was a wealth of knowledge of the history of the area and very flexible in planning the day. I highly recommend this firm as a great way to see and experience the Alsace region. Our first stop was the small village of Ebermunster where we toured the church of Saint Maurice. It was really surprising to find such a beautiful church in such a small village. Our next stop was the castle Chateau du Haut Koenigsbourg. While the fog the day we were there prevented seeing the panoramas the castle is known for, it did add a mysterious feeling to the place as we explored the castle. The weather probably also kept the crowd size down a bit, though it was still busy. The castle was very interesting, even though it was a 19th century rebuild of a 12th century structure. Our next stop was the village of Bergheim, at one time known for housing criminals, where we walked along the existing town walls and towers and stopped in a boulangerie to purchase some food (quiche and a salami sandwich) that we ate as we walked through the village. We visited the church there, also interesting though not as impressive as the one in Ebermunster. We also got some pictures of storks in their roof-top nests. The village was decorated for Easter and the “garden of witches” was toned down as a result! We then visited the village of Hunawihr, home to a fountain and village laundry since the middle ages. There, Stephania surprised us with a bottle of crémant, that we enjoyed while hearing the story of the “mixed” church of Hunawihr as well as the history behind the development of the crémant appellation. From Hunawihr, we went to Riquewihr, the most picturesque of the Alsace villages on our tour. There we sampled and bought macarons, wandered through a year-round Christmas shop and went to the Dopff for a wine tasting. We probably tasted a half dozen crémant and another half dozen still wines. We purchased 6 bottles of Pinot Gris to be shipped home – great stuff! After leaving Riquewihr, we traveled to Ammerschwihr along the Route des Vins d’Alsace and did another wine tasting at Maurice Shoech and bought a bottle to have that evening back at our hotel. Our last stop was in Kayserberg. We visited a church with a very large crucifix statue – I can’t imagine weddings in this church seemed very festive. We bought two types of cheese that I can’t recall names for. Both excellent. We learned the hard way to specify how much we wanted to spend as opposed to letting the proprietor suggest how big of a piece to cut from the wheel – we spent close to $50 on cheese! We also bought a baguette at a nearby boulangerie. We took a slight detour on our return to Strasbourg from Kayserberg to do a drive-by of the Statue of Liberty replica in Colmar. Stephania had suggested we plan to do a full day in Colmar as opposed to going there as part of our tour with her to save travel time and getting between Strasbourg and Colmar was easy and quick by train. We followed her advice and spent a good day in Colmar later in the week. I highly recommend this firm as a great way to see and experience the Alsace region.

We so appreciated the Alsace tour offered by Stephane and Stephania! The sites they chose to visit and the surprises included were super! Really enjoyed wine tasting at Achilles winery. Thanks for the memories of Alsace!

I cannot sing enough praise for Stephane and his agency! Though we originally booked the aforementioned tour, after a few messages with Stephane to work out details, we ended up customizing our day into the perfect tour of the entire Alsace region complete with wine tastings, Christmas market visits, charming medieval villages, a castle visit, and even a few special surprises from Stephane along the way. Every piece of advice he gave me about the region was spot on and we never would have had the day we had without his help and services. He said early on that one of his goals was to give us the best experience in Alsace possible and wow did he deliver! It was the perfect way to end our time in France/Alsace. I've already referred friends to him I was so impressed!

This was the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon in France. Christophe was a terrific host who was easy to talk with and flexible with ideas for our trip. He took us to a beautiful overlook, treated us to a bottle of Cremant, took us to a winery, and then took us to a "hidden gem" that he recommended. We couldn't have asked for more.

Our Friends found Stephane & booked 1/2 day tour in wine countryside to investigate outside Strasbourg. Stephane (owner) met us & immediately was very warm & friendly! We toured out of city into wine country traveling throlu a very quaint wine village! Once up into mountain, on way to winery, we stopped @ historic church, where Stephane surprised us by dramatically surprising us by Popening a btl. of local bubbly as we looked down & abserved & toasted this amazing mountaintop view! We proceeded to the winery where their entire process of winemaking was explained while we sipped different varieties! YES, we bgt. & shipped wine home! Stephane was very patient, historicslly informed & truly prestented us with one of our more memorable days in our Rhine excursion! Highly recommend this tour!!!!

What a wonderful day we had with our guide, Christophe! Visiting the Haut-Koenigsbourg castle was a highlight, especially because our guide was able to drive us past all the people trudging uphill and drop us right at the door. It was also a great day for a stop in the countryside, in a spot that other tourists hadn't found. We know and understand the region much better because of this outing. Highly recommended.

First, Stephon was great. He provided a quality mini van (very comfortable), a sense of humor, and lots of information about the region. He helped identify two wineries for a half day tour which were very good. He provided three special touches along our journey. At the first winery, he provided a dessert from a local bakery as we drank wine. He then drove us to a little chapel that overlooked a small village within the region where he provided a bottle of wine and served us as we snapped pictures (unbelievable view). The third item was a nice add-on, he organized our shipment of wine from two different wineries back to the states (reducing our shipping costs). He was flexible about everything including the best place for pickup and drop-off. We raise a glass to Stephon for a unforgettable memory. Tour well done.

Such an excellent day. Comfortable, good pace and a great way to see Alsace. Our driver was friendly, engaged in conversation, but importantly (as old friends catching up) also gave us our space to hang out.

Highly recommend this tour! Stephon was the ultimate host, picking us up at our hotel door, bringing us to a beautiful look out, sharing history and interesting tidbits about the area, then onto the winery! The winery was warm and welcoming, and we so enjoyed the wine tasting and charcuterie there. Stephon then brought us to a quaint village where we walked around and he showed us various points of interest. Stephon was funny and knowledgeable and we had a blast! We started the tour at 11am and were back at the hotel by around 3pm. It was a wonderful way to explore the region with Stephon in his Tesla!

If you’re staying in Strasbourg and want to see the beauty of the Alsace region with a friendly guide who will have you laughing all day long, look no further!! Stephone was extraordinary, and we got to see so many small towns of Alsace we wouldn’t have been able to see without a local. The Tesla is a sweet ride too! This is a great (and wholly unique) way to discover the area, and we are so glad we did it!

Our tour guide Christophe was amazing but the manager who coordinates the tours was incredibly rude. I booked a half day tour for my parents and me who were visiting from the U.S. Initially the company was non-responsive to messages so after calling and speaking with Steph by phone he was snarky and rude on two occasions. It was hard for me not to cancel but the tour was mainly for my parents who ended up having a fun time with Christophe. There are not many private tour options from Strasbourg but I cannot recommend this one.

Our guide Christoph was wonderful. He modified the whole tour to account for my difficulties with walking. We saw many beautiful sites not from the normal tour bus list. They discover hidden gems all over the area for you. My wife and I were thoroughly entertained the entire day. A great winery tour was included. This is probably the best tour we have ever had, with lots of individual attention to our interests. I cannot recommend this highly enough, they only have 5, this was a 10!

My family was on a Viking Rhine cruise and had a stop in Strasbourg. We wanted to tour the nearby countryside and reserved an afternoon tour. Christophe picked us up in downtown Strasbourg on time in a Tesla Model X and drove us to Achilee winery. We enjoyed talking with him along the way as he told us interesting tidbits/history. The owner, Steph, had arranged a tasting and charcuterie tray for us and we enjoyed the beautiful landscape and wine. After a quick tour of the winery, we purchased some wine to take home and were soon on our way to our next stop. Here is where Christophe went above and beyond. He had noted that we had said the area was beautiful, like wine country where we are from in California, but we were in awe of the castles! We told him we had visited Colmar the day before and Strasbourg in the morning so he suggested we tour a beautiful renovated castle instead of another village. So we decided our next stop was Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle. Christophe dropped us off right at the entrance and provided us with pre-paid tickets so we could just walk in and self tour the castle. It was beautifully renovated and we enjoyed the picturesque views from the top. Christophe kept us on schedule and dropped us off at our boat with time to spare. He was friendly, conscientious and his tour was one of the highlights of our trip. We highly recommend this company for a private, custom tour of the Alsace region. Thank you, Christophe and Steph!

We absolutely loved this tour! Christophe was a wonderful tour guide. Kind and thoughtful and excellent company, he spoke perfect English (and gave us free French lessons) while we toured about the region in the comfort of a Tesla, choosing music and enjoying the beautiful scenery. He went the extra mile to make this our best day in the region. We are from Australia and I took my mother, and we both felt very happy and safe the entire time. If we had more time we would have done the 6 hour tour, it was a highlight of our holiday.

Communication with the tour operator was excellent as we were not certain where our boat would be docked until the night before. Our river cruise offered a similar experience for twice as much and we so enjoyed having a private wine tasting in a quiet lovely setting followed by a visit to a nearby charming Medieval village. Our driver/guide was very conscious of returning us to our boat before it set sail. The Tesla was fun, too!

My husband and I had a wonderful day on our tour. Christophe was an enthusiastic guide and made sure we saw everything we had planned and more. He went above and beyond our expectations. It’s an incredibly beautiful area and it would have been very difficult to see all we did without a car and knowledgeable guide. Just breathtaking. We highly highly recommend it.

We spent a beautiful day with Christophe as our guide. Christophe was punctual and a pleasure to get to know. His car was spacious and comfortable and we saw some of the best parts of the Alsace region. We set off into green rolling hills to visit an organic, sustainable winery—wonderful atmosphere inside and out. Next stop, a visit to the impressive Koenigsbourg Castle. We ended our day with a quick stop in HUNAWIHR and a stroll through the storybook, medieval town of Riquewihr. A perfect finish to a perfect day!

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour! Our driver/guide Steph was very knowledgeable, telling us historical stories and facts about the castles, the storks, and other Alsacien elements! We made several great stops, allowing us to enjoy the small towns and their picturesque buildings and setting. Our tour ended at a winery, where we had delicious Alsacien wines and cheeses. It was very nice to just be us, and be able to leave when we were ready to go. Take the time to go on this tour - you won't regret it!

We had a great custom tour with Stephane. I had an unusual request to go to Herrlisheim (my dad's WW2 battle site). Stephane was so kind to accept my request. He picked us up at the Strasbourg train station and was communicating with us along the way. Our train had a slight delay but Stephane said he would wait for us. He was so flexible to accommodate our request which was something I have wanted to do for the longest time. His car is awesome too. When we got back to Strasbourg for the Christmas Market he made sure we knew where exactly to do and even texted links to what we should see. Thank you so very much Stephane!

Wonderful half day visit in the vineyards with Steph. Stephan assisted with a fully customized 3 hour tour out to the vineyards from Strabourg including tastings at 2 wineries, scenic towns and even a special surprise. Transport service in the Tesla was excellent. Pickup and return to the city centre was simple and effortless. A great time but all too short! Take a longer full day tour with Stephan if possible.

I spent 3 days in beautiful Strasbourg with my family and we decided, to make the experience even more unforgettable, to take a tour of the wine route in Alsace. Steph-On-Tour was a very pleasant discovery... Stefania proved to be an excellent guide, very knowledgeable about the area, very kind, helpful and friendly. Since there were 4 of us + our little French Bulldog, she picked us up in a very comfortable Mercedes van equipped with all comforts, with which she showed us the wonders of the region. Having a few days available, we chose a 4-hour tour, which was still enough to appreciate the essence of the fascinating and significant places of which Stefania was a perfect ambassador. If we return to Alsace for several days, we will definitely turn to Steph-On-Tour for the full day tour where we can discover all the local wonders. Steph-On-Tour is absolutely recommended
