This was a wonderful, informative tour that we enjoyed very much. We were travelling with our 1-year-old daughter and our guide, Olof, was very accommodating and made sure that she was comfortable and that we went at an appropriate pace while still seeing everything we wanted to.

Olaf was great! He was very knowledgeable, and showed us things I would not have expected! I highly recommend
The customer representative, Jonathan, was so helpful in arranging the tour. We were the only ones for the bus tour so he arranged a private tour for the two of us at the same cost. Our guide, Gabriel, was wonderful. So interesting, knowledgeable and accommodating all of our specific interests in arranging the day. Loved every minute and learned so much about Sweden in general. Highly recommend!!!!
Educational tour from Stockholm to Uppsala. Different guides for each area visited. Good for those interested in Viking history and wanting to see Uppsala.
I did this tour on a nice sunny day. The stops were all interesting and the guide did a nice job. And the stops were all pretty interesting.
Olaf was a great guide. He offered many historical facts
Olaf was a very knowledgeable and kind guide. Would recommend this tour. Unknowingly we ended up with a private tour which ended up being quite efficient.
Unfortunately, this tour wasn't really what I expected. The guide clearly had a lot of knowledge, but I found his English difficult to understand at times. We saw several runestones and historical sites, but I expected more things directly connected to the Viking Age, such as artefacts, a museum, Viking buildings or ships. Quite a lot of the information was also about other periods of Swedish history. Maybe I should have read the itinerary more carefully before booking, but considering the price and the nine-hour duration, this tour was not worth it for me.
This tour covers a lot of ground and history in nine hours and was the perfect activity for the last day of my visit to Sweden. Tor, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable, professional and pleasant. He also deftly adjusted times spent at each site resulting from traffic delays leaving Stockholm in the morning, so well that the full itinerary was met. There were eight of us in one van, so it was a small-ish number of people, which kept things personable (the van was at maximum occupancy and quite cozy inside, so keep this in mind if you have motion sickness). After visiting a number of Viking historical sites we had a free hour in Sigtuna to grab lunch and explore and finished up the afternoon at Gamla Uppsala and the Uppsala Cathedral and Castle. I do a lot of tours when I travel and one of the key factors of a great tour is the guide's passion for the topic and generosity with responding to questions. This tour is in the top of my favorites, primarily due to Tor.
The guided tour led by Tor was exceptional. He knows a great deal about Swedish history, and his detailed explanations allowed us to learn about each place and monument; he is very engaging and patient. I definitely recommend this cultural tour.
The driver/tour guide was very informative and funny. He seemed to really care about swedish history. I wished that I had planned out my time a little better in sigtuna, so that I could have seen more and had lunch. The stones and the lake were very interesting and beautiful. Overall it was a very nice day trip
This was such a cool experience to learn more of the history of Sweden and the vikings while seeing cities/towns you likely wouldn't see during a typical trip to Stockholm. Olof was very kind and knowledgeable! Highly recommend this tour!
Very informative. Accommodations were excellent and the tour guide and driver were very friendly. Tour was interactive and I would highly recommend it.
We were fortunate to have three guides in this tour. In normal circumstances, this is not the case. It happened due to some last minute changes. But it has become a highlight of our tour. All three guides were knowledgeable and extremely helpful. It is a must tour if you are visiting Stockholm. The tour gives a real perspective of Viking’s history and their culture. A visit to the beautiful and serene city, Sigtuna, is very calming. And then travel to the educational city, Uppsala, having the biggest cathedral in the Nordic region is a great experience.
In the morning we went to 3 sites with runes and the guide took us through the history of Viking culture and explained how to date runes and how they figured out what they mean. We went to Sigtura for lunch and exploring, then to Uppsala for 2 stops. Guide was quite knowledgeable.
Absolutely phenomenal tour. We were lucky enough to have 3 different tour guides over the course of the day with each being an expert in their respective location. All guides were excited to answer questions and demonstrated genuine passion and excitement to share their knowledge.
This is the second time I've taken this tour. This is really a total immersion tour of the Viking era, with a tag-on to Uppsala Cathedral. You see rune stones, Sigtuna, Gamla Uppsala, burial mounds, the cathedral and more. Our guide, Olof, was very knowledgeable and made the tour very enjoyable and informative. This is very highly recommended.
It was an amazing Tour! Our Tour Guide Olof was very informative, kind und funny while telling us the history of the runes, the land and the towns. It was impressive how much history lies in those places. We did not only learn a lot about the history but also a lot about the country itself while comparing with Olof the all-day things which defer from our countries. I learned a lot on this tour and I had a lot of fun. A huge Thanks to Olof!
Great to see both Sigtuna and Uppsala. Our guide Yolof was excellent. Not rushed with plenty of time for photos
Olaf was very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. We learned alot about Viking/Swedish history. Thanks Olaf!
Trip is great for history lovers as it explores Viking and Swedish culture from 200 AD to 1700. Explanations of Viking runestones and early Swedish history are first class.
Great guide Tor. Very friendly and knowledgeable and a great communicator . He answered all of our questions thoroughly. We enjoyed it. We were suppose to do the 9 hour tour but there were not enough people they moved us to 5 hour tour. It was very informative and we met nice people. I would definitely recommend if you are interested in viking history.
We've traveled to many places around the world and this by far is one of the most educational, entertaining and just plain enjoyable tours we've taken. Our guide was knowledgeable on all sorts of topics from Swedish history, to Scandinavian history, to culture (historic and current), politics, archeological issues, geographical issues, there didn't seem to be any era he didn't know about from ancient times to current times and everything in between. He was patient with everyone's questions. And seemed to really enjoy sharing his knowledge. I think there was one obscure question he didn't know the answer to. It was wonderful to get "out of the city" of Stockholm (marvelous as it is) to see some of the rest of Sweden and how people live. The church ruins were beautiful, the town of Sigtuna was enchanting, and Uppsala had so much to offer. I highly recommend this tour!!!
We had a wonderful time. Olof did a great job and was very informative. We were in a group of seven people in a van which was perfect. We would not have been able to see these sights by foot or easily with public transportation and the large bus tours would not have been able to cover as many places in a day.
Calle & Christian were great guides and kept the whole day interesting, engaging and fun throughout.
We were on a trip with 2 vans and unfortunately, the tour guide was on the other van so it was silent most of the time in our van. I was expecting the tour guide to be in our van but It was disappointing that we only had the driver
Great historical overview of the Vikings. Gabriel was extremely knowledgeable. Nice to get out of Stockholm and see the countryside.
This was an amazing outing! Unless you had a car and new exactly where to go you would never see these beautiful Viking runes. The guide was a local and knew so much about Viking and Swedish history that it really made the trip special. Also so other special areas including Uppsala were visited. Definitely a full day but worth every penny!
This tour was okay but we would have liked to hear more history along with the many things we saw. It was okay.
Very interesting historical trip with olaf, our tour guide. Went to some places that tourists wont go and found it very interesting
Christian was fantastic. So informed, polite, funny, and the perfect tour host! We anticipated more free time at each stop, but learned a lot and enjoyed the day all the same.
Very educational tour so worth it from that perspective. Got a good glimpse into Viking history on a specific family which made it connect together well. However limited access to bathrooms, lots of driving around.
Would have preferred more rune stones and stories and less churches.
Olof was a reserved guide with a subtle sense of humor. His knowledge of the Viking era and his respect for their culture was obvious. He also had very good time management and allowed adequate break times
Olov was very knowledgeable and personable as well as a safe driver. The trip covered a lot of ground and history but didn’t feel rushed. I learned a lot and had a wonderful time!
Very educational but not boring. Good humor, answered questions. Seemed to really. enjoy speaking on the history and was very knowledgeable.
If you love history, DO this! Olof was our guide and he was incredibly knowledgeable and deeply intelligent. He taught us so much! It was quite an adventure. I am fascinated by Viking history and how it shaped history for Sweden and its culture. Olof linked so many things together from the sights we saw. It was a phenomenal experience!
This was an awesome tour. Gustav gives very detailed explanations, answers all your questions and speaks perfect English. Our driver Christian, was very funny and we had great conversations with him along the way. We would recommend this tour to anyone..
Olav was knowledgeable and considerate. We saw parts of Swedish history we would never have seen on our own. There is a fair amount of driving between sights, but vehicle was comfortable and Olav did his best to keep us out of the rain.
There was so much more history and scenery to enjoy today than my viking tour promised, and Olof our guide was terrific. Heading first through the beautiful countryside north of Stockholm see rune stones, then around an ancient lake, on to Sigtuna which was the first town/capital of Sweden, Scandinavia largest cathedral in the university town of Uppsala and then Gamla Uppsala. All fabulous.
This tour of Sweden was an absolute masterpiece from start to finish, easily deserving every one of its five stars. From the moment we began, it was clear that every detail had been meticulously planned, creating an experience that was both seamless and profoundly enriching. Our guide Carl was simply exceptional – a true expert whose passion for Sweden's history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes shone through in every anecdote and explanation. He didn't just present facts; he wove compelling narratives that brought each destination to life, making us feel deeply connected to the places we visited. Note: bring mosquito spray just in case!
Gabriel and Christian made the tour super fun... informative tour..never boring😴....................
Fascinating to see rune stones and learn their history connected to the land and Sweden. The same goes for Sigtuna and Uppsala withe churches and countryside there. A bit of driving involved, but this allowed time for informative commentary from our two good guides
I must admit that I was not initially looking forward to this trip; however, my experience completely changed after meeting Jakob. He was exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and attentive. He not only drove us comfortably to all destinations but also provided a thoughtful tour, sharing valuable insights about Sweden along the way. I would gladly choose Jakob again for future trips, as his service was truly worth the price. I would also like to extend my appreciation to our tour guide, Olof Näslund, who was both professional and engaging, adding a great sense of enjoyment to the experience.

Excellent day tour to areas rich with Viking history. Tor was our guide and he was AMAZING! He was an encyclopedia of knowledge and information. He provided the group so many fine details and entertaining stories that really brought the history and locations alive. Highly recommend this tour and having Tor as your guide!
Our large group of 11 was picked up at our house, which was very convenient for us. We needed to separate into two vehicles, but the guide was able to connect and talk to both vehicles during the trip. Gabriel had a passion for Runes, Viking & local history. They took us to places you would never see on your own. We were never rushed and always had the opportunity to stop for a WC or snacks. Be prepared for a long day, but it was very educational and enjoyable.
This 9-hour tour to Sigtuna and Uppsala is absolutely worth it if you want to see the countryside and dive into history. Our guide, Gabriel, was awesome. He was super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about Viking history and the runestones. A really fun highlight was the drive back to Stockholm. Gabriel ran a great trivia game with the group, testing us on modern Swedish culture like major companies, music bands, and famous actors. It was a perfect way to break up the long drive and wrap up the day. Highly recommend this tour, especially if you get Gabriel!
Excellent day trip out and to the north of Stockholm. Easy way to see the beautiful surrounding countryside while learning a lot about Sweden's history. If you get Olof as your guide, double the fun!
We had a wonderful day with Gustav and our driver Christian. Gustav was an amazing guide with an engaging manner who brought to life early and medieval Swedish history. We saw all the famous historical sites at Taby, Sigtuna and Uppsala- and so much more. The pace of the tour was excellent and Gustav was flexible in adjusting the tour to our interests and the vagaries of the weather.
