Had a really great tour with Adam who took us to some unique eateries in Stockholm. Included the best apple cake I’ve had. The Swedish Devil was a one off experience but glad I at least tried it!
This tour was not worth the money. Went to a few places - Licorice was dreadful, pastries were average. Did not learn anything about where we were walking or much about Sweden. The pastry shop was a large “Starbucks” like place and not a nice bakery as I was expecting. Adam our guide was very friendly but the whole experience was very disappointing, particularly for the amount of money we paid. This is not up to the standards of a Viator tour.
Such a fun tour both learning about the tradition of Fika and trying some really terrific sweets, from amazing pastries to delicious chocolates to frankly insane licorice. We got to walk through great parts of the city while snacking. Cotton was lovely and knowledgeable and it was a wonderful start to our family holiday in the city. Highly recommended.
Fika is such an intriguing tradition, we just had to take a tour about it. We tried salty licorice, a variety of baked goods, and gelato. All was delicious (well, not the salty licorice, but really worth a try!). Adam was a lovely guide and we'd highly recommend this tour!
Our guide Coton was very knowledgeable and had a lovely way about him. He introduced the concept of Fika so well and the variety of stops really appealed to us. W got to know our fellow travellers and had a wonderful experience.
We had an amazing time on the tour. We ended up being the only two people on the tour which made for an even better experience. The different sweets we tried were tasty and gave us a window into the Swedish culture
We showed up on time for the tour but the guide was a no show. We contacted the tour operator but they never responded. We did get a full refund which is appreciated but no apology for wasting our time and the round trip transportation cost.
Tour was scheduled at 2pm and the guide never showed up. Did contact tour operator and they never responded to the message. Contacted viator and after 25 minutes of chatting was told to call the operator... called and they never picked up. Contacted viator again, and told them I wanted to refund. I haven't received my refund and was told viator requested it and could take 72 hours. Do not do this tour. Not worth wasting your time and money considering I am chasing down my refund. Take your money and walk around the city. Plenty of fika and half the price and aggrevation.
We had such a great time on our Fika Tour. Our Guide, Valentina, was awesome! Super knowledgeable and very nice. She even gave us a list of recommendations around the city after our tour. We got a taste of not only traditional fika pastries but also got to try different licorices (sweet, salty and smoked). Highly recommend this tour!
Valentina was a wonderful host and guide. Learned more about black licorice than I ever thought I’d want. She had to leave a bit early for her next tour because of the metro not running where she needed to go for her next tour but she stayed as long as possible and we had a lovely time.
We enjoyed the liquorice tasting experience. While this tour was pleasant, we have been on much better food tours. Our guide was personable but a relative new-comer to Stockholm; she did not provide the cultural context I have come to expect from such tours.
We had an amazing (and what turned out to be a private) tour! Don't plan on a big meal before or after. We had four stops and found ourselves sharing treats towards the end because we were so full. The tour gave us a chance to learn more about the fika tradition and taste some delightful common Swedish sweets. We also had a chance to try Sweden's fascination with black licorice-both sweet and salty! Enjoy!
Really fantastic tour/tour guide. Love that it included special tasting of different types of licorice and the charming locations in Gamla Stan. Really appreciated the fact that tour was not canceled, despite the fact I was the only participant. Highly recommended!
Tour never happened. Waited outside in the cold for more than 15 minutes and no one showed. Was not notified the tour was cancelled or given an apology for my time wasted. Will be receiving a refund.
Dimitrious was a superb tour guide. So knowledgeable and friendly. Answered all of our questions and was nothing but helpful. Such a fun and delicious tour.
Dimitri was great and very knowledgable He could have used a sign and or a badge as we had a bit of trouble spotting him in the crowd and we had no idea if he was who he claimed to be.
The guide gave a very good insight into Sweden and the local culture, offering personal stories in the process.
The treats we tried were nice and the host + group of other travelers were lovely. However, I would not say this was worth it in the end. Our host was not from Sweden and did not have too much local knowledge to give us, nor was there much explanation of the snacks and their history or tradition (with the exception of the first stop in which we tasted various licorices). My whole group was hoping to learn more about fika and Sweden in general via this experience, but we didn't learn much - especially considering the length of the tour. I would say we only got two or three historical/cultural anecdotes. I feel that the "tour" was mostly just to lead us from place to place and provide the food which we could have done on our own. The conversation at each location was essentially just small talk amongst ourselves and little information about Sweden. However, this would be a good option for someone simply looking to taste a few treats without needing choosing the bakery/shop/restaurant for themself.
It was supposed to be my daughter and I but she ended up not being able to make it so I went solo. Demetrius is an amazing guide! He provided good info on the city sights and the places we stopped for fika. The food and drinks were delicious and I had a great time. Definitely recommend!
I showed up at the meeting point at the appointed time and no one showed up. I couldn’t get ahold of the tour operator so called viator customer service and was told the tour started hours earlier, so the booking showed an incorrect time. I was able to get a refund but was bummed I missed this, had been really looking forward to it
Several tastings from bitter to sweet. The tour guide really knew her stuff. It was an enjoyable time that I would recommend.
Tour guide never showed so I was standing in the cold waiting. Very disappointed since I was looking forward to the day.
Had a wonderful time with Matt trying lots of sweets and enjoying a traditional Fika, we were able to learn a lot about what it’s like to live in Stockholm as we walked through town.
Tour guide Valentina was everything we could wish for, we had a lovely time and learned a lot about Fika and Stockholm.
The guides (Valentina and a guide-in-training Matt) really saved this tour. Two of the stops were nearly identical with similar pastries and coffee. The first stop was for candy - Salted Licorice and other local favorites. But what made the tour interesting and worthwhile, was talking to the guides about current life and culture in Sweden. There was a little bit of historical information when we were in the Gamla Stan - but if that is what you are interested in - it would be better to take the Old Town Tour. They do talk about the things you see as you are walking between one stop and the next. At the last stop on the tour we just sat and talked about many things - it felt like real fika. Very informative and enjoyable.
THis was the best thing we did while in Stockholm. Our tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable and a lot of fun to be with.
Interesting walking tour to various market/restaurants with coffee and desserts. Guide was friendly and knowledgeable
Our tour guide Christel was wonderful! Not only did we get to sample lots of delicious treats, we experienced traditional Fika and also got to see a lot of Stockholm as well. We got a real sense of the city, its history and its sweets. Highly recommend!
N/A - tour never happened. The guide cancelled it at 1am the night before. We didn’t realize until we were already on our way there
Absolutely loved this tour and our tour guide was very knowledgeable about what we were seeing. Would highly recommend.
This was the highlight of my stay in Stockholm. Dara was awesome! Fika was incredible! Learned a lot about Sweden culture. Dara was informative and very personable.
Our tour was beyond wonderful. Soma gave of her wisdom, time and heart to make our Fika tour all that it could have been and more. She was the essence of Fika in every way - delicious food, coffee and the most pleasant and engaging conversation. Highly highly recommend. Thank you Soma!!!!
My wife and I went on the Stockholm Fika Tour and had a fantastic time. Our food tour guide Soma could not have been better hostess. Charming, funny, energetic, knowledgeable, and thoughtful, she introduced us to the Swedish tradition of fika as we went from cafes to candy stores, sampling various foods and learning about the history of buildings and Stockholm itself. By the end, we were not only full of pastries, coffees, and candies, we were filled the warm feeling of having just spent the past couple of hours with friends. In short, we experienced fika to its fullest. Thank you, Tours of Stockholm, and thank you, Soma!
My family and I took this tour with our guide, Soma. As it was our first full day in Sweden, this was an excellent way to walk around the city and get an idea of the layout. Soma was an excellent guide; knowledgeable, accommodating, friendly and a gracious host. The food we tasted was filling and excellent and the cafe's we went into were charming. I would highly recommend this fun and informative tour.
Our tour was genuinely everything I hoped it would be and more!! I never write reviews, however, this was a must. Our tour guide Soma was absolutely lovely, so sweet and she made every aspect of the day so fun. She went above and beyond with her knowledge of Stockholm, along with waiting on us and making sure we had everything we needed to be as happy as possible. Each stop was a perfect way to experience all different aspects of the city and I'm now hooked on doing food tours in every city I visit-although I'm convinced nothing will be better than this one! If you are going to Stockholm for the first time and want to fill up one of your days, this is the perfect option for you. Put on sneakers, grab your camera and get excited about not only receiving the ideal tour of the city but for trying amazing food as well! Thank you again! Will never forget this :)
Very good coffee, nice guide at some favorite places in Stockholm, quiet and nice. Pretty compact walk in Stockholm city
Was cancelled so I did my own fika tour in Stockholm after all there are many cafes where you can get a cup of coffee with something good
This tour was cancelled at short notice on September 8th in the morning, so I cannot leave a review. Today (9 September) at 10 a.m. was proposed as the new date. But since we flew back home today, that was not an option. I hope now that the money will be refunded.
