Our guide Olof was extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions. It was a great day out learning about Viking culture and practices.

Our guide Charlotte was punctual and gave us a good briefing of the natural history of the area we were about to explore and how people got around once they arrived. This helped us better understand the function of the runic stones. It was a well paced tour and we enjoyed the different aspects of the Swedish countryside. CHarlotte made suggestions for our afternoon activities and even dropped us off at the Stockholm History Museum, which further enhanced what we had seen on the tour.
We signed up for this small group tour, which turned out to be a private tour for us. Karl was our guide and he was absolutely excellent. He was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the Viking history of Sweden, a topic we knew very little about.. Karl even added a couple of extra things for us to see on our tour and we especially enjoyed Sigatuna (not sure if I spelled it correctly), which was a very cute town. We would recommend this tour.
After several days of walking tours, I was very glad to have a private tour with Charlotte. The company was very communicative prior to the tour regarding the meeting place given that Stockholm has several piers. Charlotte arrived promptly and we were off to explore the rune stones in the countryside. My husband had a particular interest in the topic as he has studied the native southwest US petroglyphs as a museum docent. Our guide was clearly highly educated and articulate in explaining the difference between the prevailing opinion of Vikings and who the people actually were. On our return to the city, Charlotte was kind enough to offer us a drop off in the museum area so we could finish our day seeing the Vasa as we had hoped might be possible. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sweden History Tours as an organized and reputable company and Charlotte as an excellent guide.
Our Guide, Jonathan, was excellent! He was extremely knowledgeable about the Vikings and their culture. The exchange of information and the depth of his knowledge shined as we asked question after question for the duration of the tour. This is a highly recommended guide and tour when in the Stockholm area.
Charletas extremely nice and knowledgeable- at the end she drove us to the City Hall, a venue she recommended- and for which we are very appreciative!
Our guide, Gabriel, was excellent! He had a lot of unique information about both the Viking history and the local area to offer!
Our guide Erik was knowledgeable and made the experience very enjoyable as we explored the countryside just outside of Stockholm to learn about the Viking period and why Rune stones were placed
The guide was very friendly and addressed all of our questions. He was also interested in our general backgrounds.
Our guide was both knowledgeable and personable. He made the history come alive! I’m looking forward to continuing study of the Rune Stones and the people who placed them.
A great experience! Communication before the excursion was efficient and friendly and our guide picked us up at our hotel right on time. Our group of five had a great time checking out the different sites and we were all impressed with our guide's passion for the local history. We spent nearly a week in Sweden celebrating our mom's 70th birthday and she said this excursion was the highlight of her tour. Job well done. Thank you!!
When we booked our trip to Sweden, I knew it wouldn’t be complete without learning more about the Vikings. Nadia was an excellent guide and had an enormous amount of knowledge about Viking culture and history. I knew a little bit about Viking expeditions and conquests, but did not imagine we would learn so much about their intricate religious and social customs. We visited three different ruin sites, including burial grounds, an open-air courthouse, and a causeway. Nadia explained the meaning of each ruin and its importance to Viking culture. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone with an interest in history.
I was at the cusp of divorce with a very loud husband who intruded at every opportunity. He is "not going to look at a bunch of rocks". He was horrid! The tour guide was so professional and kind, she knew the tour mattered to me and took great effort to be sure I was able to visit my heritage sites and as a few questions when we could have a breath. It was wonderful for me as a person of mixed heritage to be able to visit these places.
We had a great tour, two adults and two 11 year old boys. We got lots of background.information and talked about some of the myths as well as realities of the Vikings. It was fun to get out of the city and to see some of the ancient sites that are preserved to this very day. The kids really enjoyed hearing about some of the more exciting parts or the history and the parents enjoyed the depth of knowledge our guide had. Fun for all.
Angus was very informative about the history of Sweden and the Viking era. It was a small group tour so you were able to feel comfortable and get to know one another. One was able to get a feel of the life of a Viking, not just the invading part but the culture as well. I felt very at ease with Angus and the others in the group. We were able to see many of the places around the country side and enjoy a nice lunch and do some shopping in Suntuna. The shops there had authentic items from Sweden, not just the “made in China” souvenirs! For an older person the stops were well timed.
Angus was a great guide! We went out into the countryside and saw runestones in their original settings; completely different experience than seeing them in a museum. Also was taken to see a 'thing' meeting place, a viking built causeway, and medieval church. He displayed great knowledge of the subject matter and his ability to read the runestones was impressive.
<p>Our private guide, Quentin, met us at the cruise port and took us right to the Runic Kingdom. It was a beautiful drive through downtown Stockholm and into the countryside. It was really nice to get out and walk in the places where the Vikings had lived. Quentin is an archeologist with a vast knowledge of the Viking culture, lifestyle and leaders. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on this tour and HIGHLY recommend it. Quentin was an excellent guide and a very nice young man. He's also a very good driver and we felt completely safe the entire tour. Thanks for a fantastic time!</p>
<p>only if you are a fan of Viking...my kids enjoyed the tour and learnt some fun facts.</p>
<p>This tour says private and it is. The two of us were picked up near our Airbnb by a car, the driver was a friend of the tour guide who we met outside Stockholm. Got to see countryside and Viking runes with the guide giving us info about the runes and Viking history. Great tour!</p>
<p>I was somewhat disappointed. The guide was very quiet and seemed to have a hearing or ear issues. I feel like it could have been more informative. The driver gave us more info than the guide . I wish they would have canceled if guide was not up to capacity, or replaced him.</p>
