Had an absolutely wonderful stay here during my birthday week! Annelise ensured the stay started off excellent by stepping in and helping out her teammate at the check-in desk as there was a queue building up and she wanted to assist, despite her normal job not entailing this. She helped me get my preferred room type and was so kind in doing so. This hotel is very charming, in a historic building from the 1600s that used to be a 'semi-legal' coffee house, among other things, and the character practically bleeds through the walls. The underground sauna/cold pool/wellness area was amazing and honestly not like anything I've seen before. I cannot WAIT to come back and stay at Hôtel Reisen again next time I'm in Stockholm - tack så mycket, Annelise and team!

Quite simply the best staff I’ve ever run into when traveling. The front desk is attentive and helpful, the bar workers are extremely nice and fun to talk with, and the cleaning staff are meticulous. Every interaction with someone at the hotel will make your stay more enjoyable. The sauna and pool are awesome, and the location is walkable to a seemingly unlimited selection of bars and restaurants - even granted the fact that the bar and restaurant at the hotel itself are elite as well. They care for international travelers as well with things like adapters for plugs, and a good range of credit cards are accepted. The bathrooms are fantastic as well.
I wouldn’t give the rooms a 5 out of 5, as it’s true that dealing with luggage can be a little awkward, but when you weigh everything up, all the positives definitely outweigh that. The service was excellent. Miguel was incredibly kind, helpful and attentive throughout our stay. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and I would 100% recommend it! The hotel itself is lovely, with some really beautiful touches, and the cleanliness also deserves a special mention. It’s very well located, close to plenty of places and within easy walking distance, so you can easily get around on foot. I do have one criticism regarding the hairdryer. Considering this is one of the rainiest cities in Europe, they really should provide better hairdryers, or at least have more powerful ones available upon request. The rooms have adapters and they really do provide everything you might need, which is a great touch. Overall, we had a great stay, with one exception: the lady managing breakfast. She seemed to get completely overwhelmed whenever it got busy, became confused and left people without tables. On one occasion, she gave my table to another couple and, as a result, I ended up missing breakfast. By the time I was finally able to sit down, there was hardly anything left, especially bread. Running out of breakfast on a Sunday, when you know there will be more guests than usual, seems very strange to me and was particularly unfair in my case, as the situation was caused by the lady managing the breakfast room not doing her job properly. In fact, every morning there was some sort of issue with the table I had been assigned. And honestly, who eats sliced white bread these days? It’s awful! For that reason, I would recommend booking the hotel without breakfast, or being prepared to “fight” for a table in the breakfast room — and to get to the food before it runs out!
Summary: Male staff member opened my door when I happened to be undressed inside; Management did not appear to take this seriously; Tiny room; Inadequate treatment of globalists. Unfortunately, my stay at Hotel Reisen was far below what I expect from Hyatt. The most serious and unacceptable issue was a major privacy incident: at around 11:50 a.m., a staff member knocked on my door and I immediately answered “yes,” but he opened the door without waiting for a response. I had just come out of the shower and was completely naked. A 4:00 p.m. late checkout was registered for my room, so there should have been no reason to assume it was vacant. My room was also directly next to the elevator. When I was checking out, no mention was made of the incident. Since the receptionist asked me how the stay was I complained about it. “I am very sorry,” said the receptionist. And that was it. I did not feel they even cared about it. I then complained to my Globalist concierge who contacted the hotel immediately. When I returned to pick up my sweater after checking out, again no mention was made of the terrible incident. Obviously nobody cared. Overall the impression I got from them was: oops, we are sorry; have a good day. This unforgivable incident and the poor follow-ups are sufficient to reduce star rating to the lowest. Less important points: The room itself was extremely small, and the bathroom was unacceptably tiny. I appreciate good water pressure, but the combination of strong water pressure and the very limited bathroom space meant that water splashed everywhere while showering. I was also staying as a Globalist on my birthday, yet there was no recognition or acknowledgment whatsoever. I stayed the night before at the airport Clarion after an intercontinental flight — they treated me better even though I had no status with them. I have stayed hundreds of nights at Hyatt properties around the world. While no hotel is perfect, all Hyatt properties get the basics right and many go above and beyond. Unfortunately, this stay missed some very basic expectations of privacy, room design, hospitality, and recognition of loyal guests. Positive points: location and breakfast
Hotel Reisen is wonderful!! Excellent unbeatable location in the heart of the old town a professional warm friendly service. It’s part of the Hyatt brand and I appreciate being able to use my Hyatt membership to stay here. Rooms are spacious and super super comfortable. Better bed than I have at home. Breakfast was included for Globalist and they have excellent drinks. The hot food was a bit of a let down for vegetarians as it was very meat, egg, fish heavy. Would be nice if they added some carbs or plant based protein too, especially in a progressive place like Stockholm.
