Disappointing experience for a special occasion – poorly maintained and lacking basic service We booked a Signature Room at Hotel J for a weekend getaway following our wedding, leaving a note in our booking. We were not expecting grand gestures, but the complete lack of acknowledgement was a sign of the inattentive service to come. Our stay was marred by several major issues: No Heating: The room heating was broken. A staff member came to inspect it, confirmed it wasn't working, informed us maintenance had left for the day, and offered no immediate fix. We were eventually handed a standalone space heater—concerning given this was only late summer/early fall. Worn Room & Balcony: The room itself was underwhelming, basic, and had an uncomfortably firm bed. The balcony door was broken and weather-damaged, the outdoor furniture was worn and uninviting, and there is zero privacy on the terrace due to a short, transparent divider. Loud Wedding & Disturbance: On Saturday night, loud music blasted across the property from a wedding. We were never informed of this event prior to or during check-in, and staff provided no help when raised. To top it off, there is an active construction site right next to the property. Poor Service & Crowded Breakfast: Front desk staff were slow, inattentive, and consistently took a long time to answer room calls. Breakfast was a chaotic, overly busy environment with disinterested staff providing minimal service. For a hotel in this category, the lack of maintenance, poor communication, and indifferent staff made for a thoroughly disappointing stay. Would not recommend.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I stayed in a Wellness Sea View Room, and it was one of the most peaceful and beautiful hotel experiences I’ve had. Waking up to the stunning sea view and the tranquil surroundings was incredibly relaxing. The hotel is set in a gorgeous natural environment, making it feel like a true escape while still being just minutes from central Stockholm. The recent renovation has been done with exceptional taste – elegant, warm, and beautifully in harmony with the surroundings. One of the absolute highlights was my sauna session with Danil. It was honestly one of the most memorable wellness experiences I’ve ever had. His passion, presence and attention to detail made it something truly special. If you visit Hotel J, don’t miss it. The wellness programme as a whole is refreshingly innovative and adds a completely new dimension to the stay. A little tip: take the public ferry from Nybrokajen instead of driving. Arriving by boat through the Stockholm archipelago makes the whole experience feel even more magical and is the perfect way to start your stay. If you’re looking for beautiful scenery, thoughtful design, genuine relaxation and unique wellness experiences, Hotel J is an easy five-star recommendation. I can’t wait to come back.

One of the best hidden gems and most magical places to stay near Stockholm, whether you're a local or visiting from abroad. The rooms, service, and cuisine are all of the highest quality. The spa and wellness offerings are truly exceptional, providing a unique blend of relaxation, well-being, and spiritual experiences that set this hotel apart. I highly recommend a visit or an overnight stay at Hotel J. It's a beautiful destination in every season, with each time of year offering its own special charm.

Living in Stockholm, Hotel J is my go-to escape whenever I need a break from the daily hustle. It feels worlds away from the city, yet it’s only a short trip from central Stockholm. The peaceful atmosphere, beautiful waterfront location, wellness activities, delicious breakfast, and excellent value for money are what keep me coming back again and again. I also love staying there with my girlfriends when they visit, as it’s the perfect place to experience one of Stockholm’s most beautiful sides. Cannot recommend it enough!
