Great meals. Comfortable rooms. Lots of stairs to be aware of, only limited elevator, does not stop at all floors. Very close to castle as long as you can walk uphill. Close to shopping as long as you are okay walking hills that are steep.

This hotel is at a great location if you want to take in the sights of Stirling rather than making a quick day trip to see the castle. Walking distance to the castle and near some great food options as well. This location is showing its age a bit as the facility and amenities appear dated; however, many of the rooms have extra space for a second bedroom and the pool/hot tub make up for the aging infrastructure.
This was a nice place to stay! The indoor swimming pool and hot tub were nice to have, especially while traveling. Front desk and restaurant staff were helpful and kind. The breakfast was excellent and they had so many great options!! However, the rooms were a little noisy at night until around midnight, and the doors could be quieter as guests enter their rooms at night. Overall, it was a joy staying here.
Just left a wonderful week in Scotland. We stayed at multiple 4 and 5 star hotels. This was nothing like them. We felt like we were in old dormitories. The rooms were extremely dated and had not been updated. The furniture was cheap and very worn. The best thing about this hotel is thw location. The rooms are tiny!! We had a deluxe and our daughter's shared a classic twin. Both jad 1 bottle of water to share. No washcloths and were just not up to the standards of a 4 star hotel. The soap was a 3 in one product shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Wouldn't suggest it.
Great central location and a beautiful historic building with lots of character. The restaurant was very good and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. However, the hotel itself felt quite cold, the layout is a bit of a labyrinth with many stairs and long hallways, and the shower was disappointing. Overall, a mixed experience — charming in some ways, but less comfortable than we expected.
