Glenskirlie Castle Hotel

It's been many years since I last visited Glenskirlie so I wasn't sure what to expect when I booked a table for lunch to catch up with old friends today. The venue was in the perfect location for our needs, being halfway between east & west, with easy access from the M80, ample parking & a varied menu so there would be something for everyone. So I reckoned it was definitely worth a go. The restaurant was quiet, so we could really relax & enjoy our time without feeling rushed. The whole venue was so clean & well kept too - I had a wee wander around to look at all the interesting decor as I'd overcompensated for potential traffic enrolee, so had time to kill before lunch! I was warmly greeted by Chef Aileen & Server Erin as I arrived - they were already working through the entire menu checking the allergies from my booking note in detail so they knew what should be suitable for me, or tweakable if need be. Their kindness & attention to detail was genuinely touching - my allergy list is not for the fainthearted!! - so I instantly knew I was in safe hands. Erin even took me through to the bar area to discuss drink options & go through those ingredient lists too. Anyone with allergies knows just how rare this is. If I could give a 6 star review I would!! The food itself was impressive - as I couldn't have the usual chicken burger, chef immediately offered a cajun chicken burger without buttermilk/breadcrumbs as an alternative, and it was delicious. The meat was tender, juicy, beautifully cooked & perfectly seasoned. The basketful of chips was exactly the right amount, wonderfully crispy on the outside, perfectly fluffy on the inside. My friends had the chicken tikka, which smelled AMAZING, and the sea bass with creamy leek sauce which looked fabulous too. Portions were excellent, and I really didn't *need* pudding, but chef had kindly prepared in advance a dessert I could have in case I wanted one, so it felt rude not to (any excuse, hehehe)!! A piping hot bowl of hearty apple & bramble crumble with vegan ice cream arrived & was full of autumnal tastiness!! Absolutely delighted with my visit today - we had such a lovely catch up, and really enjoyed our food while we chatted. Looking forward to returning again in the future.

We came here for our 25 wedding anniversary not our usual hotel but was amazed at the decor, it is styled on a castle and does not disappoint the rooms are vast and the bath omg very deep and long , staff are friendly especially the two girls doing food tall girl and the one with her glasses on her head lol 2 of them are a credit to hotel , food is really good ,this is not a criticism but could we have steak gammon steak or chicken on the menu 😀 anyway a fantastic stay and would defo come back again as it was tremendous

We stayed in the Castle Suite for one night as an engagement gift, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. ​The suite itself is very spacious, quiet throughout the night, and features a remarkably comfortable bed. The bathroom was a real highlight—especially the heated floor around the sinks and the huge bath (though the bubble jets weren't working due to upcoming renovations, it was still a great bath and didn't detract from our stay). ​For dinner, we had the steak pie and chicken tortilla, both of which were delicious, followed by a few drinks in the bar. Breakfast the next morning completely hit the spot—the haggis in particular was very nice. ​Every member of staff we encountered was lovely and welcoming. A fantastic, memorable stay—highly recommended!

We had the most wonderful wedding at Glenskirlie and this is why.. The venue was absolutely stunning, it does look like something out a fairytale, our guests couldn’t stop commenting on it. The location still feels central for guests coming from all over. Ryan as the wedding coordinator answered every question we had (big or small!) he was a very integral part of our day going so smoothly. He adapted around what we wanted and every ask was never too big. The planning process was really stress free which lead to us being very relaxed on the day. The great service didn’t stop there, the housekeeping came in the night before / morning off and attended to the bridal suite to tidy up and give us anything we needed. Which meant getting back in our room at 12 and it being clean was an absolute treat. The night manager also attended to us without an issue when we needed a new pull out bed too and delivered breakfast right to our door! The staff were so accommodating, helping us set up the ceremony room the night before and just offering additional set of hands. They were also great at making venoms which our guests decided that was the drink of the night! 😂 In terms of wedding package (Booked July 2025), you really get a lot of value for money! The fact they charge the same 7 days a week is unheard of and the food, quality of service and the amount within the initial package is great value for money. We truly had the perfect day and couldn't have asked for a better venue. We would highly recommend it to any couple looking for a beautiful place to celebrate their wedding.
