St. Thomas Sightseeing Tour With A Guide

We took a taxi to downtown shopping and were approached by Mr. Godfrey mentioning he had room on his tour that was soon to start. We took him up on this as our Carnival cruise excursion options were limited. We saw the entire Island and he was very knowledgeable giving information the entire time. He was thoughtful kind and very professional I would highly recommended his company. He even ensured we had drinks and snacks a very gracious host. We enjoyed the tour.

Godfrey was so knowledgeable of St. Thomas. We stopped multiple times and he showed us the most fabulous views of the island. He picked us up at our hotel making it so easy. He also provided snacks and drinks. Highly Reccomend!

We were only couple on this tour but only time we could go. Operator stood by their commitment which we appreciated. Tour was good and informative.

It exceeded our expectations. Walking out of the port was simple, our tour guide was waiting for us, exactly where he specified. He was very knowledgeable, personable and timely. We saw both sides of the island as well as "the top of the hill". You got a very good view of a lot of the islands around and a good view of the ship. Great picture taking opportunities. We ended up at the beach to hang out and enjoy our environment. We wrapped up on time and made it back to the ship in time for our departure.

An amazing tour tour guide was fun knowledgeable of his country the people were very warm hearted and welcoming nobody was too pushy for you to buy from the different vendors This is a must do tour and Be sure to say hi to Ruby she was one of the vendors where we had stopped All of the vendors had great prices on their products

We were picked up at the cruise dock 15 minutes late with another two passengers. We were then dropped off for 30 minutes downtown to shop while the driver went to pick up more passengers at a hotel (stating that giving us this "extra" 30 minutes would extend our time to 3 hours). The driver gave a lot of information while on the drive up to the World Famous Banana Daiquiri place. When we got there he was approached by a man and his wife that were very upset about him not being on time to pick him up at this location. He then guided us out to the back overview where he gave another 15 minute speech about the islands that we could see. We then continued to a little overlook of Magen's Bay then headed back to town. The other two passengers from our trip were supposed to be dropped off at a beach and my husband and I asked the driver if we could be dropped off and picked up too (probably at an additional costs since we didn't ask for that package). However, after listening to the driver tell the other passengers their drop off schedule at the end of the route, all four of us decided not to be dropped off at the beach. We would have been in an extreme rush to get to the ship before it left dock. Overall, the scenery was beautiful, but the time management of the driver was terrible. The tour took longer than what was stated. The driver did provide plenty of water/sodas and snacks for everyone.

Godfrey tours was Excellent. The trip up to the top was well worth it! Beautiful! Enough stops for photos. Owner/Driver very informative. Included cold drinks and variety of chips. He also took pics for people. Very efficient and friendly!

Mr. Godfrey was very knowledgeable and I enjoyed the fact that he offered us cold water and snacks on that hot day of touring.

This tour is the perfect way to experience St. Thomas in a short amount of time. Godfrey was very professional and very knowledgeable about the various sites that we visited. My husband and I were the only two on this tour, which allowed us to have a more personalized experience. Great tour, and equally great tour guide.

We booked this excursion through Godfrey Tours. Shout out to MH Family Adventures youtubers for this recommendation. Godfrey tours is the best. Very knowledgeable and reliable. We met at 11am at a local bar in Port As we drove around the port area learning about places there and picking up others who booked this excursion as well. Going up the mountain the streets are very narrow and at times wasnt sure about if there would be enough room to pass. But no worries our tour guide was great. Once we reach the mountain top at the famous banana daiquiri our tour guide had everyone meet up out back so we could view all of St. Thomas and other Islands. He took about 20 to 30 minutes to talk about St. Thomas. Have to say St. Thomas is my favorite island and will be back again We will use Godfrey Tours again when qe come back. I will also recommend Godfrey Tours to any and everyone. Thank you so much to Godfrey for a very memorable time.

I was pickup from my resort. The tour guide was nice, professional, timely and informative. I truly enjoyed the tour. This is a top tier experience.

Bring a swim suit..., there will be a 2 hour lay over at the beach, there is a bar to purchase drinks and a place to purchase food

We were picked up on time at port but had to pick several other people not from cruise with several other stops. Waiting each time. Never checked us in. Thought we were going up to top, view, which we did but spent more time picking up several people around St Thomas and having to have driver go look for them.

We booked this tour on our cruise - we were very excited to see St Thomas and hear about it from our guide. We were booked for 1030 am. Our guide showed up late and seemed very confused about who was supposed to be on the tour. There was another group waiting who had booked for 11 so he decided to take both groups together since he was already late. After leaving the cruise port- he decided that he had forgotten someone so we had to go back . It ended up that the person he ‘forgot’ was already on the bus. At this point it was after 11 am. He then proceeded to drive to a parking lot to pick up more people who we found out were supposed to be picked up 15 minutes prior to when we were picked up. So the 1030 tour didn’t actually start till 1120 am. We then raced up the mountain - it was terrifying - and were told that we had a minimal amount of time to be there. When my sister - who had a broken foot- tried to get up the steps ahead of the group he embarrassed her in front of the whole group like she was a child. When we expressed concern about getting back to our ship on time he rolled his eyes at us and he then rushed through the rest of the tour and dropped us off before it was over. We have used Trip Advisor and Viator on several occasions and were always happy with our experiences- this tour through Godfrey tours was an awful, disappointing experience and we will never take a chance on using this company again. Trip Advisor won’t compensate for our miserable experience and that says a lot about how they feel about their customers. Do not book this tour. It’s not well organized and you will not get your money’s worth.

We pre booked through viator and paid in full for a sight seeing tour. On the day of the tour we waited over 30 minutes but no one showed. Whem we called viator and they checked on the status the provider reported they didnt show any tours booked for the day. Someone definitely dropped the ball with communication.. i will say viator was easy to work with and provided a full refund for the tour that never was.

10/10 Recommend! Was our 1st time in St. Thomas so this was very informative! Do the 6hr tour, take your swimsuit, towel . You get to pick between 2 different ⛱️beaches and stay for 2 hours and they come back and get you.

Was over 20min late no apologies felt rushed to get on the boat hit a fence going into the shopping district to pick people up waited 15min went to top of mountain thought (as did a few people on the tour) that we got the famous banana daquai included in the tour but was told we had 25 minutes there tour guy spoke for 15 of it then felt rushed to get back on the bus which he then drove pretty fast stopped a few places on the road with cars behinds us for pictures went to a dodgie parking lot stopped again for 10 min he spoke then hurried us back on the bus was suppose to be a drive by beach but we went in and was there for 15min some people hopped off and some people from another bus hopped on then dropped but to the bus didnt see the pirates things like I thought (yes was suppose to just be a drive by) if we did u couldn't here thr bus driver as he was very mufflely drinks n small.packet chips was about the only good thing about this tour if i could get money back i would but all I have to remind me is a saw back from bad shocks on the back of the bus. We may have got on a bad day but I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS TOUR AT ALL

I booked this trip for my last day on the island before a late-afternoon flight home. The driver/tour guide graciously picked me up at a local resort and dropped me off at the airport at the end of the tour. We began in Charlotte Amelia with a brief walking/ orientation tour. We had about 45 minutes to explore on our own. I opted to visit the fascinating fort (entrance fee not included.) After that, we drove around the island, stopped at scenic overlooks and the mountain top shopping center. During our ride in an open trolley, our driver shared myriad facts about St. Thomas—history, geography, economy, people, culture. He also provided snacks along the way. It was a great way to spend my last afternoon on St. Thomas.

If you’re looking for a nice outing seeing great views and also some history of the island then look no further than Godfrey Tours. Great service and hospitality as well as a very knowledgeable guide.

Pickup/dropoff was easy - Godfrey called in advance to arrange early pickup then dropped us off downtown. Godfrey was very knowledgeable, informative & helpful. Affordable.

This tour was not what I had expected. I was hoping to go around the island and learn where all the attractions would be so I can figure out where I should spend time the next several days. The tour shuttle and operator did not show up at 10:30am as indicated. It showed up at 11:00am and the driver had handwritten guest info. Then, we made another stop to pick up more people, some of them had been waiting as scheduled at the 9:30am tour. The remaining tour was painfully slow, and the driver changed the beach drop off from Magens Beach to Sapphire beach because of one customer's preference. Long story short, that added another 30 minutes of driving. We got back to pick up point at 1:30pm, the tour should have ended at 12:30pm according to the schedule. Mr. Godfrey, the driver himself, is very knowledgeable of the history of the St, Thomas. At the same time, he may want to focus on getting the scheduling and timing right with his business.

We initially received a msg to say that our 8.30 tour was bumped to 9.30 as we were the only ones on the tour. 2 open air buses finally showed up after 10 and whilst waiting we met quite a few others, who were also moved off of our “solo” 8.30 tour. The first bus was packed so we were directed to the 2nd. The driver got very shirty when we didn’t squash into a single row on the bus, even though it wasn’t full. He was then racist to some Latin Americans as he didn’t understand the name Juan and proceeded to throw the couple off his bus. First stop was at a hotel to collect more ppl. the driver was then again complaining as there was some “no shows”. We were again berated at the shopping stop for not sitting where we were told. At every stop various customers were moved off and onto the bus randomly, it began to be a standing joke. Most stops were drive bys of derelict “attractions gone by” with a distorted commentary over a speaker on the bus, about every hurricane to hit the Island and what had been destroyed and never repaired. Other actual stops were rushed and mainly used to swap folks off or onto the bus. Although the weather was rainy & not great at times. Selection of soft drinks and water provided half way through the tour and a box of various crisps and corn snacks passed around the bus. This tour was relatively cheap for 6hrs but only made cheerful by the sheer craziness of it all and the shared hilarity of the experience shared by our fellow passengers. That’s if they weren’t the ones being thrown off the bus!!

It was a beautiful view but the tour operator texted us at two A.M. the night before to change the time. We were originally supposed to meet at 1030 A.M. as the ticket state. We got a text in the middle of the night stating that instead we were starting at 9:30 am. Very very disappointed. In this last minute Poor communication and it’s a good thing that we woke up early instead of sleeping it until our alarm went off or we would’ve missed the tour and then I would have been very angry and demanding money back.

Our driver Giovanni was awesome, only thing I didn’t care for is the littering. Our driver had no issues just throwing our trash out of the vehicle. People should take pride in the countryside that makes them money. Who wants to see a bunch of trash.

Very good overview of island. Beautiful views. Driver/guide was excellent/informative. Would highly recommend if you want to just go around the island and see the sights.

Hard to hear the guide in the vehicle due to traffic and trucks. On a positive side, our guide was very informative and took his time answering guest questions.

Well organized tour by Godfrey Tours. Godfrey didn’t have enough of his own vehicles so used a taxi company who’s vehicle needed some work and the PA System didn’t work!

The driver was very knowledgeable and the locations we went to gave us a great view of the island. The hosts picked us up at our resort which was great and convenient. The reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that it was described as a 2.5 hour tour and it lasted for 4 hours! We hadn’t planned to spend the better part of a lovely day driving around.

My family had a great experience. We booked a 2.5 hour tour but it turned out to be more like 3.5 hours because we stopped at a number of sites to take pictures of the beautiful scenery and Godfrey told us about the island’s history, background, interesting buildings and facts, etc. We got to see and learned so much on this tour, for the price it is an amazing deal. Godfrey is truly a wonderful guide as well as a safe driver. We felt safe even with 2 young children. He was punctual and met us near the cruise ship 10 minutes before the set time and dropped off everyone on our tour bus at their preferred locations. A variety of snacks, water, juice, and sodas were provided and much appreciated. Everyone on our bus seemed very happy with the experience. I highly recommend Godfrey’s tours!

This was a nice ride, scenic tour of the island. Our driver was a little hard to understand but he was attentive to our needs. At one point, we were technically done, but we asked to be dropped in town to do more exploring, expecting that we'd need to get a cab back to the ship, but he was picking up others at a beach and told us he'd fetch us in two hours, which was great, and saved us some money. It's a nice island.

Never showed up to pick us up at resort. When we contacted him, he told us that the guy was "right around the corner". Waited another 15 minutes, and we called back. He told us that the guy was on his way to pick us up and that we would have to "walk around downtown and site see for an hour" after his guy picked us up. Waited again. Called him back when not picked up again, and he said we listed the wrong pick up location on our reservation. We did not. I just said forget it - we are not going with you. Wasted an hour of our vacation time waiting on this tour. No refund. Woke up the next morning to a text message from 1:30 am that said he would pick us up at our hotel for a tour at 10:40AM the next day. We laughed - definitely not happening. UNHAPPY AND UPSET.

Great low-budget outing. The ride was comfortable and we got to see some beautiful views and go to the top of the mountain. A great part is that they pick you up at your resort so there is no need for a cab. The low cost of this trip makes it totally worth it. You can even spend some time at Megan’s Bay if you choose to do so for just the entry fee at the beach. They give you a couple hours there and come back and pick you up and bring you back to the resort. A cab ride to and from any one of the destinations would cost as much as this tour.

The tour was OKAY. The tour quide was 20 minutes late. He had a lot of issues trying to figure out who was to be on the tour. The tour turned out to be more of a transportation for people wanting to shop or go to the beach. It was confusing for everyone. We had 10 minutes to shop downtown and picked up more people at that location. We proceeded to the top of St Thomas. The guide took us thru the store to get to the overlook. We had some time to shop or get a drink. The tour guide offered us water, soda and chips. A nice surprise since we had been on the bus for over 2 1/2 hours. We then proceeded to the beach for those going to the beach Several people opted not to stay at the beach which I think was due to the confusion the tour guide had if they would even get a ride back to the ship. Driver seemed to point out a lot of churches but not really any sights except for the fort which we were given an opportunity to see but for only 5 minutes. The driver didn't drop us off at the ship but at the shopping area close by. He needed to back downtown to drop off more people. It was 4 1/2 hour bus tour instead of 2 1/2.

The driver and his superior seemed to be unorganized. People were put on with us that were on a 6-hour tour and we were on a 2-1/2 hour tour. We were supposed to have an hour's shopping experience but had 10 minutes. then we sat there quite a while they tried to figure out who were on our tour bus. However, the driver was a good driver and knew his island.
