St. Thomas Cycleboats Water Island Trip

This is definitely one of the best excursions I've been on, and I've been on a lot. The boat holds 16, but we happened to only have seven people on our trip. It was fantastic. Captain Nick was nice and chill. Alice, the host, was great. She would hunt us down on the beach to refill our rum punch. The boat ride is amazing and scenic, and so is the beach. There is also a little bar for food and drinks if you don't want the free ones from Alice. I highly recommend this for a nice relaxing day. Thank you Alice and Nick!

My husband and I had the best time with Captain Dave and Alex!! We had a group of 6 on my boat, all couples. We started as strangers but after drinks on beautiful honeymoon beach, we were exchanging stories, taking pictures and having a blast together. And when I say drinks, I mean Alex poured a drink of you were even looking like you needed to be topped off. Alex found us in the water if we had our cups and poured them as we enjoyed our time on the beach. She also had plenty of water on hand to stay hydrated. I would recommend this over some of the pricier adventures and we did 3 different tours but this was second only to a personalized private tour! It was THAT fun and they took extremely good care of us. Captain Dave made sure we made it safe and personally got my husband and I into a taxi after it was over to get back to Redhook! (he asked everyone but we were the only ones without a ride back)!

We had an amazing time on the St. Thomas Cycleboat excursion with Captain D and Alice! Our group of 14 had such a fun experience from start to finish. Alice kept the rum punch flowing and was fantastic, she even went into the water to capture some great pictures for us, which was such a fun extra touch. Captain D was extremely personable, let us play our own music, and made the whole trip feel relaxed and enjoyable. Definitely a 5-star experience, and I would highly recommend it!

Please know that they only offer rum punch on this tour unlike the picture suggests. They drop off at a beach that may have all chairs and umbrellas sold out and there are cheaper tours that drop you at the same beach. There were no available chairs or umbrellas for any of our group. It was a total disappointment for many that went.

If you’re looking for a can’t-miss experience in St. Thomas, the St. Thomas Cycleboat tour to Water Island (Honeymoon Beach) absolutely delivers - and then some! From the very beginning, the entire experience was seamless and enjoyable. Coordinating a group of 13 could have been complicated, but Tamara made the booking process effortless. She was incredibly responsive, friendly, and accommodating, making sure every detail was handled so we could just focus on having a great time. Once onboard, the experience went from great to unforgettable. Captain Justin kept everything running smoothly while creating a fun, relaxed atmosphere. And Alex - truly a bartender extraordinaire - took things to the next level! Not only did she keep the drinks flowing (hands-down the best rum punch we had all week - and believe me, we tried them ALL!) But she also stayed with our group on the beach the entire day, sharing stories and local insights that made the experience feel personal and special. Her knowledge of the area and engaging personality really elevated the entire day! She is an absolute GEM and I would high recommend EVERYONE request her for their upcoming trips...she was honestly the highlight of our DAY! (❤️ U ALEX!) The ride out to the island & back was a perfect mix of scenic beauty, good vibes, and just the right amount of rum punch! Spending time at Honeymoon Beach was amazing, crystal-clear water, laid-back energy, and the perfect setting to relax with friends. Every member of the Cycleboat team went above and beyond to make sure we had an incredible time. We would recommend this experience to everyone visiting St. Thomas, it’s a MUST-DO! Next time we're back, we will definitely be re-booking with St. Thomas Cycleboat again!

Cycle boat was so much fun! The beach we went to was beautiful!

We met Courtney by the ship and had 14 in our group. Courtney let us know it was her first time helping with this excursion and she did great. We got on the party boat and met the captain and the rum started flowing. Courtney made sure everyone had plenty of rum. I do not drink rum, so a beer option would have been nice, but I think my husband drank enough for both of us:) I played DJ instead and took requests from guests as I took over the captains phone. I enjoyed doing that. Courtney and the captain told us about some of the places we were passing. We got to the beach, which was beautiful and quiet. I did not bring my snorkeling gear and rented it at the beach- it was $15/ hour or $35/ 3 hours. I’d recommend bringing your own. I found some nice shells. I tried a local beer, which was great ($7). While at the beach, Courtney kept the rum flowing for the guests and hung out with us. We would definitely do this excursion again.

The boat trip was amazing. Our guide Alex was the best host! Enjoyed our trip! The captain however was rude to his employees and me. He had told us on the way over if anyone wanted to play a song to let him know. I requested to on the way back. A young guest had also requested the same before me. No issue. She asked me what the song I wanted to play was and I spelled it a couple times but it was misinterpreted. The captain, however, told me if I couldn’t spell the song then it couldn’t be played. Nasty, nasty comment. I didn’t deserve that. I didn’t misspell others didn’t understand me. I give the captain negative rating for me and his treatment of his staff!

This was so much fun! One of the best excursions in St. Thomas. With such a small number of people (16 max.),we quickly made friends on the boat. Amber and Captain Steve were very welcoming. Capt. Steve is quite entertaining and Amber kept the delicious rum punch flowing for the entire trip (even delivering refills and ice while we were in the water at the beach). I would definitely do this excursion again.

St. Thomas Cycleboats was an awesome excursion that our family enjoyed. They provide water and rum punch. If you want to bring your own snacks and drinks, you can do that as well. Water Island also has a bar, food and water sport supplies for rent on the island. The beach on Water Island is called Honeymoon Beach and it's absolutely beautiful! The whole staff is super friendly and accommodating. It's the perfect amount of time, especially if you need to get back to the cruise ship. They were so nice that they dropped us off closer to the ship when it was time to leave. Would definitely recommend this excursion!

After a change to our cruise itinerary and port times, we begrudgingly started looking for another way to spend our limited time in St Thomas. I could not have asked for a better day thanks to Captain Justin and Jamie! We were even lucky enough to have Tamara on board for our 3-hour Water Island trip as well! With a total of 15 guests on board (16 is their max) we were a group of 9 celebrating my birthday. The staff/crew were so genuinely personable, friendly, and fun…and the delicious rum punch flowed freely thanks to Jamie who served us both on the boat AND on gorgeous Honeymoon Beach. It took less than 30 minutes to get to Water Island…no pedaling required…unless you were looking for a way to burn a few calories from all that tasty rum punch! We spent just under 2 hours relaxing on the beach, hanging in the ocean, and even doing a little snorkeling (even saw a few sea turtles!) before our return trip back to Crown Bay Marina..more rum punch, water, friendly conversation, and great tunes before returning to Crown Bay Marina…just a short walk away from our cruise ship. Thank you St Thomas Cycleboats! 5 stars all the way!

Jamie is the BEST! We had a great time on the cycle boat and water island!! Would absolutely book again. We booked through Royal Caribbean.

Our trip started off a little rocky (our fault, not theirs) and we ended up taking a water taxi to Water Island and met up with our group there!! So if for some crazy reason (or not so crazy reason) you end up being late and the boat had to leave without you, not all is lost! Just jump on the Water Island Ferry and meet your crew and group there!! Jamie was awesome!! She kept our cups full while we hung out on Honeymoon Beach! Just raise your cup when you need a refill and that’s her siren call!! She comes to you whether you’re on land or enjoying the beautiful water! There is definitely no skimping on alcohol with this excursion! I would also suggest the mango daiquiri if you want a frozen drink from the bar! We heard the food was amazing, but we ordered ours and forgot to pick it up (blame it on the rum) before we left. All in all, it was a blast and we met new friends that we continued to hang with during the rest of our stay on the island!! Highly recommend if you like to party! I would probably sit this one out if you don’t drink.

We booked this excursion through Carnival Cruiselines and we had so much fun. It was on March 13th, 2025. Captain Dave and Jamie were amazing! Best rum punch we have had anywhere, not just rum mixed with punch--it was the real deal. The boat ride was fun--music and drinks and Honeymoon Beach was small but entertaining--saw some huge sea turtles while snorkeling there. Jamie brought us drinks both on the beach and right out in the water. It was a great time! Not for kids, but great for those that are kids at heart!

If you are planning to go to St Thomas the cycle boat is a must!! Great crew and lots of fun. They will keep you hopping with the music and the cocktails. Jamie and Capt Dave were truely an amazing crew. You will not be disappointed and won’t have to deal with the crowds where they take you!!!

An amazing excursion to Honeymoon Beach on Water Island. Captain Dave piloted us out to the island where our host Andrew saw to it that we had an incredible afternoon. His recommendations were spot on and our rum punch was always chilled and our glasses full. We highly recommend this adventure and definitely ask for Andrew

This was a gem of an excursion from a cruise! The captain was awesome, the drinks were amazing, and the little beach was nice and secluded. All in all, it was one of the best we had all vacation!

We honestly had the most amazing time on this excursion with st thomas cycle boats! Capt Justin & Lisa were the best! Such good rum punch, once we got to the island we rented a golf cart & cruised around the island to fort segarra from world war 2, & Explored the tunnel systems! We then ventured into the warm beach ocean water and saw fish beneath our feet! Some even saw sea turtles! The beach is beautiful! An unforgettable time! :) I highly recommend this excursion to anyone!!!

Although a little gimmicky, we loved this excursion off our cruise ship. Chris met us right at our ship and walked us over to our pedal boat. Justin and Chris were great on the boat giving us some great Water Island facts. Once at honeymoon beach we found a spot and rented a couple chairs. Chris and Lisa made sure our cups of rum punch were always filled. The family spent most of the time in the calm waters and rented a paddle board for an hour. Honeymoon beach was very quiet and relaxed. The trip back to the boat was much livelier, could have been the rum or the great group of people we were with on the boat. Overall would highly recommend this excursion or trip if you are down in St. Thomas.

I booked this tour directly with St Thomas Cycle Boats and was quite impressed at how quickly Tamara reached out to make sure I had directions from the cruise ship to our meeting spot! Even though she was in the States, it felt like she was on the island as her communication was excellent! We booked trip for Christmas Eve and had concerns if there would be enough customers signed up for the trip to take place; but, it turned out there were 14 of us. It also worked out quite well because that was their only trip of the day so the boat was able to stay at Honeymoon Beach with us instead of having to make trips back to the cruise ship for more guests. It also turned out there were actually two captains (Nick and Dave) covering this trip to enable their first mates to take some much needed time off for Christmas. Both captains were great! Very friendly and entertaining and Dave played quite the waiter making sure everyone had all the rum punch they wanted, even wading into the water so we didn’t need to go to the boat for refills! The beach was clean, not crowded and by not crowded I’m guessing less than 60 people on the entire beach! There were plenty of places with trees and picnic tables for anyone wanting some shade. Boat was clean, great music at a volume everyone could visit, captains were great, boat was clean, rum punch was good, weather and beach were excellent, and price was reasonable. What more could a person ask for! Will do again if return to St Thomas.

My wife Heather and I took a Norwegian cruise over the week of Christmas and apparently saved the best excursion for our last day in St. Thomas! We had SO much fun with CPT Dave and our host Jamie on the cycleboat. We were blessed by having a great group who wanted to have fun and the fun, music and rum punch began as soon as we stepped onboard and started peddling. Jamie was amazing and the MC of the trip mixing both music and rum punch and Captain Dave took great care of us, told us the history of the area on the way and was also pretty hilarious. Honeymoon beach was awesome and we had plenty of time to enjoy it. The beach was great and some people snorkeled, rented boats/golf carts or played volleyball. We drank rum punch in the ocean and Jamie came out into the water several times to fill us all up! We also visited a very cool bar on the beach with great conch fritters and some local IPAs (they took credit card too). We absolutely loved this day and really want to come back - highly recommend it! Jamie we want pictures, please DM me!!!!

We had an amazing tour with 8 family members and 2 new friends that we met on the tour! Captain Dave was hilarious and took great care of us. Jamie was the true star of the show who was our guide. Friendly, came to the beach with us, kept the drinks flowing, and was a great time. Rum punch is great and so if you like that, no need to BYOB. Ice and cold water to keep your drinks cold during the boat ride. Great food and drinks at the beach as well. Highlight of the excursion was actually the beach! Excellent service very helpful, informative and knowledgeable with the tour. The boat Captain and the tour operator were very helpful and friendly. We felt like we know them from long time. Very happy that I did the tour with the company. I will definitely recommend that service to anyone going to St. Thomas for the first time.

This was our favorite excursion on our recent Royal Caribbean cruise! Justin and Jamie were THE BEST - very knowledgeable about the island, very fun and interactive, and amazing bartenders! Water Island is beautiful and we managed to rent golf carts and explore for an hour - HIGHLY recommend. If we ever come back to St. Thomas we will absolutely do this again!

On our first cruise ever a few years who we went on the cycle boat to honeymoon beach and LOVED every second of it! So much so that we planned this entire cruise around that excursion! This time around we had Scotty with us and he was amazing! So kind, chill, helpful, and wanted to have a good time! We met Scotty off the boat on the pier, it was super organized and the communication was great. We then walked to the boat where we got into our bike seat, we were served a delicious rum punch, and we were off! The boat ride is about 10 minutes through the most beautiful water we have ever seen! Then you end up on Honeymoon Beach! It’s beautiful, expansive, and the best part is that it is quiet!!!! On both times we have been there has never been many people there! Even with the snorkeling tours that come through it is still quiet. We then had a few hours to relax and enjoy! On the beach you can purchase lounge chairs (we got one for the two of us to put our stuff on), they also have a nice bar and restaurant that you can go to if you are hungry or want something other than rum punch! However, one of the best parts is the ocean!!!! The water is beautiful, the sand is so soft, and both times we have gone we have seen turtles!!!! We truly end up spending the entire time there in the ocean! To sum it up, this is the best excursion we have ever been on! This company is amazing!! Their people and nice and they want us to have fun! we will 100% be coming back!

Chris did an excellent job talking about the island and playing bartender! It was great time getting to know him. Our family of four wasn’t sure at first when booking the excursion on the Icon, but ultimately it was the best excursion. The ride over to Honeymoon beach was great! We were able to taste the endless Rum Punch on the boat as well as beach. The beach was less crowded than Magens Bay beach and the snorkeling was great.

Originally, I/we booked a Thursday afternoon trip but was rescheduled to the 9:00 am Friday trip due to min. passenger requirement which was fine. Unfortunately, I don't remember the Captain and the mates' names but they were very relaxed and chill which was good because we had a slight hangover from the night before in Red Hook. LOL We were with two other younger couples and the trip was good. We had a great relaxing morning/mid-afternoon trip @ Honeymoon with lunch from the local beach restaurant there which was amazing! We love St. Thomas!

St. Thomas Cycleboats is the best excursion we’ve been on! Tamara made this all happen for us! When our cruise port excursion was full she got us on another one that was going out from another cruise port. Tamara kept in contact with me and kept me updated on time changes and thoroughly went over where we were supposed to pick up the Cycleboat. She called me to make sure we were on our way and when we got there made sure we were at the correct spot! She is the most caring, sweet and thorough person! She cares so much you would think she owns the company. Once on the Cycleboat Captain Dave & Josh were great also! We all had a great time with my husband DJ Chuck (lol) and the flowing of rum punch! They also took us to a gorgeous beach. All around a great experience and lots of fun!! Thank you again Tamara, Dave & Josh!! Highly recommend!!!

Tamara and Captain Dave were the absolute BEST!! We had a group of 16 people, some of who started off not so enthusiastic, but this turned out to be one of the best excursions we did throughout our cruise!! The ride was great, the Run Punch was delicious and bottomless, and the beach was absolutely beautiful. We WILL be doing this again!

I booked this tour for my fiance as a birthday present and it was such a success! Tamara contacted me and did everything so that we could join this tour on the right day. My fiance loved this and we had a great, nice and fun trip out to Water Island and Honeymoon beach. When our rum punch was finished, the staff made sure we got refills in our mugs. A nice, fun and relaxed afternoon where we also took the opportunity to have lunch at Dinghy's. Their fish tacos were so tasty, try them. Did this as an excursion with NCL. We were really looking forward to it based on the reviews. The boat is very uncomfortable and was dragging in the back and also treading water. Both captain and his first mate were dull. No commentary about St Thomas or anything else for that matter. First mate seemed miserable to be onboard and was either really stoned or hungover. It was so obvious the rum punch had no or very, very little alcohol. Dinghys bar was ok. Food was decent. Beach was just ok, but nothing spectacular. Bathrooms were nasty. Felt totally ripped off and wasted the day in St Thomas. Do not waste your time or money.

I had a blast! The trip on the boat to Honeymoon beach was quick but very fun! The hosts were lively and allowed us to connect to the Bluetooth for the vibes! The beach was beautiful and the people were accommodating and friendly! I would for sure recommend and go again!

The St. Thomas Cycleboat Water Island trip is a fun spin on 2 pretty common things. Many people have been on pontoon boats before & some have probably been on the boozy biking buses in various cities around the country, but this combined the 2 into a fun half-day excursion on St. Thomas. Tamara was very friendly & a big help in getting my party out on the water from a booking standpoint, and then Captain Dave & his crew made the day a ton of fun. Everyone was very knowledgeable. Water Island itself is quiet, and there isn't a ton to see or do, but the trip over was scenic & great with the rum punches & music. The beach there (Honeymoon Beach) is among the better in the St. Thomas area. And then the trip back was more of the same good time. We even took rum punches to go in souvenir cups! Really fun time, would recommend to anyone who likes a more active excursion while visiting St. Thomas.

This was so much fun! Capt. Dave and Crew were so entertaining and were just as much a part of the party as the rest of us. The rum-punch was flowing, and the tunes were cranked as we cycled a quick trip to Honeymoon beach, which was a gorgeous place to hang out for the afternoon. Great way to get to Water Island and explore a little.

Rate 5 out of 5. Very nice tour and great time in water island on beach. Cycle to the beach drink and listen to your tune. Bring snacks too. This was a awesome guided tour. I love the captain and crew. They provided water rum punch and ice.
