Alonzo and Omar were amazing. Worth the money but be prepared to expend energy!
Amazing experience with Keithlyn as our guide. He kept a perfect pace, we talked, had time to see things up close, and still had a good hour of snorkeling. We have snorkeled at other STT beaches but this area had the most green life. Keithlyn was able to find lots of life for us to see in and out of the water. This was probably the highlight of our vacation! Very much recommend this to round out a whole St Thomas experience.
Perfect trip! John was very knowledgeable and a lot of fun! Highly recommend!
What an awesome experience. Our guide Swish was super knowledgeable and fun for the entire adventure. Highly recommend.
Awesome tour! Brett was our guide, and he was very kind, patient, and knowledgeable. It was an excellent experience, and we would definitely return. Highly recommended!
Summarizing the situation, my wife had a near drowning experience while on an ecotours tour due to our two guides not being attentive to the individuals on our tour. My wife and I and a third person were left on our own by our two guides while on a snorkel swim. We went to the area of the swim as directed and tried to return. On the return swim my wife had some energy issues and I needed to tow her back to the kayaks. On this portion of the swim, she inhaled water and had a near drowning episode which required an ambulance and overnight hospital emergency room stay. After we got to shore a guide from another tour volunteered to help us out. I went to our guide and told him we were going to go back with the third guide and our guide said he would lead us out. After we kayaked out my wife required an ambulance. While this portion of the incident was going on, the person at the tour site had me fill out an incident report. My wife was struggling to get enough oxygen. I could have cared less about this report. This was all after the ride we hired through ecotours did not show up to bring us to the tour. We had to at the last minute arrange our own ride and as a result arrived late to our tour time and missed and was not provided an overview of the tour. To this day we are not sure if there were safety issues discussed prior to the kayaking and snorkeling. After my wife recovered and we returned home we requested a refund because of all of the above and were told we would receive a refund. As of the end of July we have not been refunded. We have not been assured that procedures for accounting for people have been changed. We would not recommend this tour.
The experience was awesome, I’m not from here and I came from the star of the seas royal Caribbean cruise and it’s like half off compared to the cruise and my guide Bret was very helpful and showed us a bunch of cool sea life creatures and gave all of us a bunch of tips and tricks. Would definitely recommend coming here if your visiting or if you live on this island!
Great experience!!! Beautiful scenery and awesome tour guides.
We loved our kayaking in the mangroves in the morning Brett was our Guide. He was very passionate about St Thomas the mangroves showing us the jellyfish and other creatures he made it, especially enjoyable.
Alonso was super amazing!! He made sure we were all taking care of. My son even saw starfish and jellyfish...etc
Great educational kayak tour of the mangrove, but if it’s windy, expect a hard time fighting the wind in the open bay,
Swish and Aiden did a great job with the tour!
The mangroves were amazing and the guide was very knowledgeable about them and the wildlife they support. We had a 6 and 8 year old and the swim to the reef was too much for the 6 year old because of the wind and currents.
Amazing way to explore St. Thomas with kids. We had such a great time on this tour! We kayaked through the mangroves, learned about the ecosystem and wildlife, and then got in the water to snorkel. Our guide, Keith, was fantastic - knowledgeable, personable, and great with my kids. He kept them engaged and made the entire experience fun rather than feeling like a scripted tour. The kayaking was beautiful, and my kids loved stopping to explore and see the wildlife up close. The snorkeling was also a lot of fun, and we saw plenty of fish. It was active, educational, and genuinely enjoyable for both me and the kids. One thing I especially appreciated was that our guide took a ton of photos throughout the tour, both kayaking and underwater, so I could actually participate and enjoy the experience instead of constantly trying to document everything myself. We ended up with some really great pictures from the day. Definitely one of our favorite activities in St. Thomas and absolutely worth doing. I would highly recommend the mangrove eco tour, especially for families with adventurous kids.
We had a great time. Keithlyn was funny and knowledgeable. He knew a lot about the Mangroves and was able to point out a lot of species of fish and wildlife. We were able to see starfish and sea urchins. It was a great time and we learned and laughed a lot.
We had a great time! Perez was an exceptional guide!
My 3 daughters (18, 21, 25) and I had a great kayak/snorkeling trip. Our guide, Brett, was very informative and made sure we had the best opportunity to see all the local critters—jellyfish, hermit crabs, octopi, stingrays, etc. We kayaked total 3 miles—one short section was a little more challenging going against current, but overall pleasant and fun experience!
Brendt was very knowledgeable and awesome ! We were a little late but they made accommodations for us!
GREAT wonderful experience would do it again. Best tour guide on the island
Alonzo was a great host had a lot of funnn
Super fun experience with a great guide.
We had a great time! Our guide Brett was phenomenal and the company were very accommodating. Would highly recommend and we would use them again.
This was a fun experience, really enjoyed our time here and will be coming back for sure.
Beautiful experience with a knowledgeable and fun guide. Entertaining with beautiful scenery. Would highly recommend!
Great 3 hour tour, Alonso make the experience fun and enjoyable
Not an easy experience as you have to kayak up wind for the first half then downwind the second half. Great guide but didn’t see much of anything as in turtles or stingrays.
Such a brilliant day! Swish and Jonathan were so knowledgable of the area and their discipline, had so many fun facts and stories to tell us. We learned so much about the wildlife and you can tell they truly love what they do and what they’re involved in. Loads of fish to see in the mangrove and lots of interactive with the wildlife too. We saw a ray which Swish managed to film for us on our go pro. It was the perfect length given the paddling and the heat involved. Would recommend to anyone looking for a fun, active day out in St Thomas.
It is better than described! Our guide, Brett responded to our experience level and pointed out wildlife and provided some history of the area. The best snorkel of our USVI vacation.
Friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable staff. Good experience, timing was just right. Photos came out really well
We had a wonderful experience on our excursion. The pricepoint and duration of the tour was just right for us. We lucked out with a “private” tour with just our family booked and our awesome guide, Keithlyn, allowing for us to be the pace setters— and not feeling rushed. Keithlyn was very knowledgeable and helpful, as we navigated our kiddos’ first-ever snorkeling experience (ages 7 & 10). There was lots of fish and other sea life to see. It was a very chill trip; an easy paddle, too, even going against the current out to Cas Cay. We are experienced kayakers, but this was a breeze and simple to navigate. We purchased the digital photo package and can’t wait to see all of the images Keithlyn captured for us, including underwater! We found it really helpful to have cold waters provided to us during the tour— our guide had a cooler on the back of his boat. The candy bar provided was a nice little treat, but we also packed a light snack that we stuck in our little bags (chips, goldfish). I recommend full-brimmed hats, long-sleeved UV-shirts, and lots of sunscreen for your journey. The Aqua Cases we had for our phones were a great addition too. We kept our towels in the car, but we did get a locker for a small fee, for wallets and car keys, since we did not want to run the risk of them getting wet, etc.. Lastly, the little on-site shop was also convenient, to pick up a couple of things, including a small souvenir. We would definitely recommend this trip to others.
Great morning out with our guide Keithlyn. He was awesome, very knowledgeable. Beautiful views kayaking, and then cool snorkeling. Saw a baby shark, barracuda and lots of fish. Highly recommend!
Such a great experience! It was our son’s (3.5 yo) first kayak ride and he loved it. He sat in the middle and cheered us on. When we got to the snorkeling point one of us took turns staying back with him in the little Bay Area where we parked the kayaks. We saw sting rays, fish, jellyfish, coral, and more! Our guide was excellent as well- Keithlyn rocks.
Great experience, Andrew was knowledgeable about the mangroves, learned some od the pitate laws. We went on a windy day so we worked for it but it was worth it! 100 percent recommend!
Kayak and snorkel tour was amazing! Swish our guide was fantastic - very knowledgeable and great with the kids. Kayak was beautiful and saw lots of creatures on the snorkel.
A fun little excursion to kayak and for those who like to snorkel (which our kids did), though it’s very expensive for what you get and there is no note on the extremely overpriced cost of transportation to and from this excursion from cruise port. No matter where you travel on this island, taxis charge min $15/person each way. It cost us $120 USD for a family of 2 adults, 2 kids to get to this activity on top of the $425 USD excursion. Converted to CDN it cost us $750 for just 3 hours. For that reason I’d rate this 1 star. However the activity itself and the staff were good, just too expensive for us. Gave 3 stars overall, generously.
The mangroves are beautiful!! The guides were awesome and informative!! And contrary to what my sister in law thought ~ there are no snakes!! Just really cool jellyfish and starfish … and we even caught a glimpse of a very shy little octopus heading back into his home when we were snorkeling!! Last but not least, make sure you ask them about the crabs!!
My husband and I did the 10am, 2 hour tour with another individual plus our guide so we were a small group. Keith was our guide and he did a great job, he was enthusiastic about his job and seemed very knowledgeable. We kayaked the mangroves and learned their importance on the ecosystem for the Calypso jellyfish and other water creatures. Then we snorkeled for about an hour seeing sting ray, barracuda, other fish as well as tons of hermit crabs. The rest of staff was friendly and willing to assist us locate a taxi, as once the tour was done, we did not have cell phone service and had to wait about 30 mins. We did not see any sea turtles on this tour however, we experienced a short downpour so I think that maybe had something to do with it. This was economical compared to other activities and I learned a lot. Would recommend this activity for all ages if you can tolerate Kayaking and snorkeling.
Great tour guides who are very knowledgeable. It was an easy set up process, easy to get to and we’re very helpful. It was our first time kayaking and it was a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
Friendly and funny guide. The mangroves were ok. You’re kayaking near St. Thomas’ largest dump and rock quarry. That is your view the entire trip. Snorkeling was decent, not great. The highlight was seeing thousands of hermit crabs on the island piled to together eating.
Kayaking portion of the trip was great fun - calm waters in the lagoon and it was excellent weather for that. The snorkel portion of the trip was a bit of a miss - we didn't see much marine life but that's obviously not on the tour operators. For people who are not strong swimmers, note that you do have to be able to handle significant time floating in the water (life vest is provided). Our guide seemed to have an attitude problem and made several disparaging remarks about our kayaking/swimming skills which were not appreciated. If you're marketing yourself as beginner friendly, then maybe don't mock the beginners? Other than that, its a very good activity at a reasonable price that I'd recommend - hopefully you just have a better guide experience than we did.
Fun experience kayaking through the mangroves with our knowledgeable guide Jezzy. We swam over a manta ray, saw an octopus and got to hold a live Conch!
The St. Thomas Mangrove Lagoon Kayak and Snorkel Tour was one of the highlights of our trip. The kayaking through the calm, scenic mangrove channels was peaceful and beautiful, and our guide was knowledgeable and engaging. The snorkeling portion was just as great, with clear water and plenty of colorful marine life to see. The tour was well organized and eco-focused, making it both fun and educational. Highly recommend this experience for anyone visiting St. Thomas.
Friendly and accommodating as soon as we arrived. Our guide John was very welcoming, informative, playful and fun!
Swish was the best- as well as the others with him- saw lots of fish and a sting ray- the hermit crabs were so fun
This overall experience was enjoyable but not remarkable. We enjoyed the kayaking and information about the mangroves. The snorkeling was underwhelming. Our experience did not live up to the ecstatic reviews we had read. .
This was a great outing! Very picturesque, felt safe the whole time. Our guide was great and very patient.
Our guide, Jon, was great. Made the trip fun. Kayaking along the mangroves were neat. It was windy so the current wasn’t a joke - but we enjoyed the entire adventure. Looking forward to coming back again.
Real good experience. I thought it was a good time to relax there.
We saw eagle rays and stingrays Our guide Cyrell was knowledgeable and friendly
