St Thomas Kayak And Sea Turtle Snorkel Excursion

Loved having a small group-only 4 of us. Sven was a great guide and found an octopus and squid while snorkeling.

Our tour guide Conner was amazing. He spent time explaining some interesting facts about the flora and fauna on the island. The snorkel spot was fantastic and we saw turtles, tons of fish, stingrays, starfish and jellyfish. Kayaking can be a little challenging depending on the waves but Conner stayed right with us and was fine to let us set our pace. Would highly recommend.

We had the time of our lives with tour guide, Conner! He was knowledgeable on the area, the animals, and the island. He took us out to see the turtles and fish while exploring the reef and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Would 100% recommend this company and Conner if you plan on visiting St Thomas!

Did the 2 hour turtle snorkeling tour and had Conner as our tour guide and he was absolutely fantastic! He had so much knowledge about the ocean life and was so much fun to be with. My sisters and I said we’ll definitely come back and to ask for conner to be our tour guide because we just had such a fantastic time. I love that they work with smaller groups, we felt like we got to experience so much more that way!

My husband and I went with tour guide Connor and we were impressed!!! He was on time, brought sandwiches from a local shop (the bread is incredible) and provided us with tons of water. On to the trip, we rode up to the first spot and saw tons of sea turtles and other incredible wildlife. Connor was a wealth of knowledge. He even grabbed a giant conch for us to see and hold! 10/10 recommend that you request Connor as you guide. He even pulled over and picked tamarind for us to try! We’ve done several excursions since we got here and definitely had the highlight of our time in st Thomas during this one!!!

Our tour guide, Conner, was extremely helpful, friendly, and experienced in our snorkeling adventure. He took us to a secluded beach that was streaming with marine life. Conner taught us about the fish we were seeing, the coral reef, and various see life we were swimming with. We saw a lot of sea turtles (more than I expected). Our photo package was so worth the money and we will keep these visual memories forever.

Best tour on our Caribbean vacation. Conner was excellent, knowledgeable and fun . Saw lots of fish and turtles. Enjoyed the whole day , nice that is was just us , no large crowds allowed a personalized experienced. Would definitely recommend!

We had great expectations when booking this trip, but we had no idea that our expectations would be exceeded to such a great extent. Conner was such a joy to work with. He was very informative & went the extra mile to make sure that our day was spent learning about the island, being knowledgeable regarding sea creatures, and ensuring that we felt comfortable and safe the entire day. We have amazing pictures and videos to commemorate our experience. By the end of the excursion, it felt like we had been with family. We give Conner two thumbs up, a five star rating, and look forward to the next time we’re in St. Thomas. We will specifically ask for him!

March 15, our family from Cincinnati met Sven at the Emerald Beach Resort parking lot. We got in the back of his jeep which is an off road vehicle for the rocky dirt roads of the island. He took us to a fairly secluded beach ( No cruise ship people here). We snorkeled about 1 hour. Sven was very knowledgeable. He pointed out turtles, Sting Ray, squid, and many types of fish. He took pictures under water of us with turtles, and will email to us this week. There were some riptides that day at the place we were to kayak. So we didn’t go there to kayak. We could have stayed at the same beach and kayaked, but mom here got motion sickness while snorkeling. So we opted to stay out of the water at this point. We laid at the beach a bit then asked Sven to drive us around for views of the island instead of Kayaking. He was all for that. He knew all the good spots for pictures. Views were amazing. It was just my husband, myself and our 21 and 17 yr old. We would recommend you tour with Sven, If you don’t want to be with big crowds of people amd want a more personal touch to your day sign in with this tour company. We booked directly thru them, no third parties. They have bottled water, 1 premade sandwiches and 1 cookie for each person. Wear your suits with cover up. Bring towels, flip flops, sunscreen and sunglasses. Don’t forget tip money.

Was told via text not to attend due to weight restriction but charged anyway. This makes zero sense - the fact that i provided detail that disqualified me ahead of time and then being charged does not make any sense to me,

We had a blast! They took us to 2 different locations for snorkeling and kayaking. We saw turtles and lots of other sea creatures. We kayaked to a remote island. The crew was great, very attentive and informative. They have everything you need. They also take pictures for you, even underwater! If you like outdoor adventure and don’t mind riding in the back of a Jeep, this is for you!

We had a great time in this tour. Sven was informative and cared for our safety. We snorkeled first at a public local beach and then to kayaks. Kayaks were alittle more bouncy with waves then the kids liked so we did it for less time. The snorkeling is some of the best I’ve done in the Caribbean. I have been to about 10 islands and this one was on top. We saw squid, octopus, many fish, sea turtles, and a sting ray. All in a natural setting. He did not feed them. They were just there living. I enjoyed that part the most. Highly recommended tour

Sven was a wonderful tour guide who was very knowledgeable about both sea life, and flora. I was a first time kayaker in which he took time to demonstrate different ways to maneuver the kayak. I recommend this excursion!

Sven was incredibly knowledgeable of the local area, vegetation, and the best spots for seeing rare sea creatures and an incredible isolated beach for kayaking! He found octopus, rays, turtles, and every type of fish you could imagine for us! This was an incredible experience that you do not want to miss!

Michelle was amazing! She was incredibly knowledgeable and got us right up next to the sea turtles. She took so many photos that were all really great quality. We very much enjoyed our time with her. It was a very special day.

Sven was our tour guide throughout the 5-hour snorkel and kayak excursion. To say that he is the best tour guide a person can ask for is not an exaggeration. He was very knowledgeable of the wildlife in the island, taking any opportunity to teach us about the plants and animals we encountered. He also made the effort to take great underwater pictures of us with the turtles, sting rays, jelly fish and sea eggs that we came across. He is an expert swimmer with a passion for wildlife, free diving, and photography, all of which add to his accolades as a tour guide. Respectful and professional and would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting St. Thomas.

What a great day! Our guide picked us up, and our first stop was a beautiful overlook where we learned about the history of St. Thomas and the other USVI. We departed the overlook and headed to the kayak spot. After kayaking to an ocean cove, our guide secured the boats and we hopped in for some snorkeling. One member of our party was wary of snorkeling, and had a full-on panic attack once in the water. Our guide, Sven, was very patient and helpful, and got her situated in the kayak without incident while the rest of us snorkeled around a bit. We saw many different kinds of fish before paddling back to shore. After loading the kayaks, we enjoyed a delicious picnic lunch (provided by the operator) and then took a short drive to our next snorkeling spot. This location provided a more relaxed snorkeling experience for our anxious family member, and she was able to wade into the ocean and snorkel to see the sea turtles. We probably saw a dozen or more turtles, which was the highlight of our trip for our daughter. In short, I can't recommend this excursion enough. Ask for Sven - he was awesome!

This truly was one of THE BEST SNORKELING EXPERIENCES we have had anywhere. It was just the four of us (parents and two young teens) and our fantastic, friendly, informative guide, Michelle. We swam with turtles, saw many, many different, colorful fish, interesting coral, an octopus, sting rays and more! What set this experience apart from many we have had before, was that it was so relaxed and low-key. There were no other swimmers in our vicinity so it was not crowded or rushed. Sea turtles are my most favorite creatures on the planet and snorkeling is my favorite activity. I have been on many snorkeling tours in the Caribbean, Hawaii, and Costa Rica. This IS hands down, a fantastic experience. I highly recommend it. Michelle was punctual with pick up and drop off. Lunch was delicious and we we provided plenty of water. We will be in USVI a month and may even go again!

We recently went on a Christmas cruise in which we had a port day in St Thomas. We chose the Kayak with Sea Turtle Snorkel for our family of 5. We saw so many wonderful sea creatures while snorkeling, including a crab! They were also not kidding about their sea turtle guarantee. Our family was so excited to see and swim with several sea turtles. Our guide was so informative. He knew all sorts of information regarding the sea life, the plants, and the birds. We enjoyed kayaking around the bay and getting a little history lesson too. A quick side note also. Our cruise had an itinerary change the day before we were to set sail. Michelle was so accommodating to the new schedule and allowed us to still do our excursion. Thank you so much for being so easy to work with! We had a great time and highly recommend your tour!

In August 2019 my spouse and I had the please of going on the Coral Cay Excursion. We were picked up promptly near our cruise ship and later brought back with plenty of time to get back on the boat. Our guide Sven brought us on a challenging yet highly rewarding day of kayaking and snorkeling. Sven was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the area as well as the fish and other wildlife we saw. He took professional looking photos along the way, including underwater photos of coral, fish, and sea turtles. This let us focus on enjoying our day and not having to fumble with a camera. I advise that anyone going on this excursion be prepared for a fairly strenuous day. I would recommend having kayaked and/or snorkeled before so that you can focus on enjoying the day and not just the tasks. The private and customized nature of touring with St Thomas Adventure Tours made for a memorable and enjoyable day! We cannot say enough about this high-quality adventure and hope that others experience it, too.

Absolute highlight of our trip!! 100% get your moneys worth and more. My boyfriend and I had and amazing day of kayaking, snorkeling, learning about the island, and swimming with turtles!! Both guides were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Went out of their way to accommodate my food intolerance with lunch, which was so kind! You will absolutely get your moneys worth and make amazing memories! A must do on St. Thomas!!

We went on the kayak and snorkeling tour on the last day of our trip to St. Thomas, but we wish we went sooner! The tour was so much fun and our tour guide was so informative and kind. I learned so much about the sea life and plants on St. Thomas. Snorkeling and getting to see numerous sea turtles swimming right next to us was so cool. It was definitely an amazing experience that I highly recommend!

My twin sister and I wanted to do something very special to celebrate our birthday. We chose to spend our special day with Michelle and Sven on an adventure tour- kayaking, snorkeling, and swimming with sea turtles. We had the most AMAZING birthday, one we truly will never forget!! Sven is so knowledgeable about all the sea creatures, wildlife, and even the plants and trees! He shared so many interesting facts throughout the tour. We had a marvelous time snorkeling along a coral reef and kayaking across a bay to a mangrove area, teeming with wildlife. Sven knew all the many birds. We also were thrilled to see an iguana swimming! We then kayaked to a cove, where we snorkeled- floating gently over the seabed, right over grazing sea turtles. Watching these gentle gorgeous creatures was the highlight of our day, and the highlight of our trip. I HIGHLY recommend Adventure Tours, which specializes in eco friendly tours and small groups. In this intimate setting you can learn so much and really experience nature first hand. Michelle is so sweet and helpful with the arrangements and Sven is such an expert in all aspects of the island and wildlife - they are a great team!

Absolutely amazing. Was easily the highlight of my wife and I's trip to St. Thomas in the last week of March. Sven was super accommodating and was a great guide through and through. He made sure everyone was prepped for the kayaking journey (which was a workout so be ready!). Seeing the the island and coasts all around you as you kayak, Sven giving you details and tidbits about the island was awesome. Lunch on Water Island was delicious, and beach itself was beautiful. Makes me want to visit that island more when I return to this area. But then finally the snorkeling was great. Sven did a great job finding sea turtles for everyone to see and watch. I think we saw almost 10 sea turtles in the area. And then also got to see a lot of cool fish and other sea creatures like sea urchins and anemones. Highly highly recommend. Just remember to bring your sun screen.

Michelle was amazing with communication even before we left for St. Thomas...she suggested alternate dates so we could capitalize on a day without cruise ships (and thus allowing us a private tour), gave me ideas of other things to do on the island with our kids, and was just spectacular. We were set to hike and snorkel with sea turtles. Then, we had a mishap with another tour company and were unable to do the sea kayaking we had planned...so on the off chance, I emailed Michelle to see if we could change things up a bit. Yes! They were more than happy to tailor something for us (our youngest is 5, so I was worried he’d have to sit it out). I was extremely pleased! Michelle called they day before we were to take the tour to suggest we adjust our times based on the wind forecast...and then called me the morning of to let us know we would have to adjust which beach as the winds had already picked up. I truly appreciated her safety first/making it the best experience possible proactiveness. Sven is a living encyclopedia of nature (Michelle is also btw). We kayaked, snorkeled, are a delicious lunch, learned about the sugar cane runes, learned about local plants, snorkeled some more... Both Sven and Michelle went in snorkeling (and they brought us all wet suit shirts so we wouldn’t get too cold and have to cut thins short) so that they could help with the kids if needed and also to spot wildlife. We saw so many turtles and stingrays and crabs (one in a giant conch shell) and fish. Brewers Bay was a beautiful place to be.

Me and my husband came on our honeymoon and this was even better than we expected!!!! Michelle is one of the nicest people you could meet here!! She’s so informative and accommodating! She picked us up from our hotel right on time and just made the day so much fun!!! When we come back we will definitely use St. Thomas Adventure Tours again!!!!

We were supposed to kayak over to the turtle area, but the winds just would not give us a break. Michelle let us know the night before that there was a good chance that the kayaking would be cancelled (it was) but invited us to take the Turtle tour with lunch excursion as an alternate activity. We could not have been more impressed with her professionalism and we had a blast with her that day. I even got to kiss a sea cucumber (and thus earning 10 years of good luck). She even made sure that we got to the departure point on time and got us back to our hotel after the trip. We can't wait to get back to the island and spend more time with St. Thomas Adventure Tours and are looking forward to meeting Sven.

What an awesome experience! Michelle and Sven were great! From booking, to picking us up at the ship, to our excursion and then getting us back to the ship! Sven was a great tour guide. Loved the kayaking!!! We then stopped for lunch at a beach bar and had excellent fish tacos!! After lunch, we snorkeled with green sea turtles and then kayaked backed. I would highly recommended this tour and if we ever make it back to St.Thomas would definitely be booking another excursion with them!!!

My husband and I booked this excursion with the hopes of seeing a couple turtles! But it was much more than we anticipated! Not only did we see a half dozen turtles (ranging in age), we were able to learn about the wildlife and history of St Thomas while we were kayaking! It was awesome! We even saw a shark on the way back from water island. HIGHLY recommend.

Wonderful guides and a great way to see the coast of St. Thomas - the lunch far exceeded our expectations...the fish tacos and burgers are outstanding! There was time enough to enjoy the snorkeling and turtles and the kayak trip there and back allowed us to eat without guilt!

Great Catamaran boat ride to Turtle Cove with a great friendly crew. Snorkeling was decent, and we saw several Sea Turtles, Stingray, and a few tropical fish. Rum punch on the sail back was very refreshing! My wife and I would definitely recommend this tour.

This excursion was fantastic! Michelle and Sven were wonderful guides. Michelle picked us up at the ship and brought us to the Kayaking entrance point. Then Sven took over as our personal guide for the day. The Kayaking was fun and interesting as Sven shared lots of stories about St. Thomas and the variety of plants and sea life in the area. The tour felt like a private VIP experience! Snorkeling with the Sea Turtles was great!! Plenty to see and Sven taught us keys about how to maximize our adventure and not scare things away. Lunch on the beach was delicious and so fresh! We could not have asked for a better day!

Michelle collected us from the cruise terminal, filling us in on local history as we travelled the short distance to the start point of the kayak tour. Only having kayaked once before I was a little nervous, however Sven soon put me at my ease, it was a bit like having your dad looking after you, thats how attentive and informative he was ! We arrived at the beach to snorkel in search of turtles just as everyone else on tours were leaving, advising us to make as little noise as possible in the water, we followed Sven who found them straight away, surreal. Back on the beach, delicious lunch of fish tacos washed down with local beer, perfect. If you choose an excursion with your cruise ship you will pay twice the price, be in the water with 50+ fellow guests - no wonder you won't get to see the turtles!

We arrived at the meeting point by Taxi and were way too early. Nevertheless Sven and his brother were already there, well prepared to start the Tour earlier since it was only us 4! On the way across the bay Sven told us lots of things about the wildlife and the Island and helped us with the Kayaks:) Once we arrived at the beach we had a short break and then started snorkeling. The turtles were amazing and the complimentary lunch at the beach was the bomb! We loved it soooo much and look at the pictures almost daily! Best experience ever!

I cannot say enough good things about this excursion. We received transportation from the cruise port at the exact pick up location included in the reservation email. The transport was on time (even a little early). We were taken to a little beach where the kayaks were ready and waiting for us. Sven did an excellent job giving us a short introduction to kayaking and then took us across the bay. We were lucky enough to see dolphins! Sven did a great job of telling us about the wildlife, history, and geography. We landed at the beach and were taken in two small groups to snorkel and see the turtles. Seeing them up close was absolutely incredible. Jo and Sven helped point out the turtles and took us right to them so it was not difficult to see 5 or 6 of them in a short period of time. We then got lunch and headed back across the bay. Michelle was wonderful at coordinating everything and making sure we were taken care of. Part of our group took the ferry to the snorkeling location and there was a small issue with the ferry getting back (it was thanksgiving). Michelle took care of everything and put us all at ease. It was such a wonderful trip. I would go back again in a heartbeat.

<p>We had a great time on this excursion. We were a party of three, so my husband and son had a boat, and I paddled with one of our guides. One other couple on our tour had some difficulty with the kayaking, and our guide Steve was very patient and supportive of them. On the way back, our other guide, Sven, towed them the entire way. Over and above, in my opinion. The kayaking was beautiful along the coastline of St. Thomas. As indicated properly in the description, it is a long paddle and you should be in decent shape to try it. Snorkeling with the turtles was incredible! The water is crystal clear, and they are just hanging out in the bay, munching on grass. they do surface right next to you just like the pictures! Even lunch on the beach was great, best hamburger we've had in a long time! Well done, Sven and Steve!!</p>
