Snorkel St. John Tour From Sapphire And Margaritaville

It was a great day, weather was perfect, water was warm. We had fruit and muffins for breakfast, sandwiches and salad for lunch. Great staff! Jeff was amazing. Drinks were flowing. Made my friends Birthday feel extra special! Recommend!

If I could give this a six star rating, I would. The captains were great, and the open bar is a bonus! My husband and I got to see so many fish, a few sea turtles, and stingrays! Would recommend to anyone debating what to do in St. Thomas!!

D’haden was our guide and he kept the mood up beat and fun. We got to see many different types of sealife and islands. It was an amazing tour and our best day on the island.

What an amazing day on the water! Our group had an absolute blast on this snorkeling excursion around St. John! We stopped at three different locations and saw so much beautiful marine life, including a shark, which was definitely a highlight of the trip! Jeff and Christian were fantastic guides! They were friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone had a great time. The boat was clean, comfortable, and had plenty of room for everyone to spread out and relax. Breakfast was very light, but lunch was delicious, and the drinks were definitely flowing! Between the beautiful scenery, incredible snorkeling, great food, and fun atmosphere, it was such a memorable experience. Everyone in our group agreed this was one of the highlights of our vacation! We all gave it five stars and would absolutely book this excursion again. If you’re visiting St. Thomas or St. John and looking for a fun day on the water, I can’t recommend this excursion enough! You won’t regret it!

The morning started off great being able to be picked up right in Sapphire Bay Marina. Jeff and Christian were amazing! They made sure it was an amazing day. We got to see everything we asked to see and more. Breakfast and lunch were so good. Drinks were delicious and flowing. Would definitely book again!

We had a truly amazing and fun time on this snorkeling trip!! The breakfast and lunch served were delicious and drinks were flowing all day!! Captain D’haden and Christian were GREAT and shared so much history and information about the 3 places we snorkeled as well as all the sites of the trip. They kept the boat ride entertaining and so much fun! Weather was beautiful and snorkeling spots were full of marine life to see including sea turtles, all kinds of beautiful fish, coral, squid, stingrays and jellyfish. D’haden and Christian made my first time snorkeling so easy and comfortable and was a great day with the others on our boat as well. Would highly recommend and do again when we visit next!

Multiple stops! Great food! Amazing crew! Both the captain, D’Haden and the first mate, Nick were awesome! They were friendly, funny, and super knowledgeable! The 3 stops were absolutely gorgeous, as well!

We had a wonderful trip with great music and excellent snorkeling! When we first got on the boat, they provided drinks, muffins and fresh fruit. We snorkeled at three different spots and they provided lunch in between. Lunch was deli sandwiches, fruit and a caesar salad. The drinks were available all the way up until we got back to the dock. The Captain and First Mate were both amazing!!!! Would definitely recommend this trip!

They kept the drinks and food flowing. We stopped and 3 locations and had amazing sights of the world below the Caribbean. My husband and I read about full faced snorkel masks, so we purchased them and they were great. I don't think we will ever go back to the small mask and mouth piece. Jeff even went so far as to taking the scenic route back to Port and gave us alot of information about the islands. I'm not a history person but was fascinated by the information they shared with us. We met some awesome travelers as well who made the trip even more fun.

We had an amazing day! D’haden and Max are true people persons. They kept the 6 hour trip lively and fun. We stopped at 3 snorkel spots, one of them being a gorgeous beach only accessible by boat on St. John. We spotted squid, manoray, stingrays, TURTLES and tons of gorgeous fish. We were served a light breakfast and a full lunch. Drinks were flowing all day. The music was amazing and appropriate for all ages. They supply vests to help you float while snorkeling if you are worried about being in open waters. This was an amazing day! Highly recommend!

My wife and I did this excursion on our honeymoon and it was without a doubt the highlight of the trip. Captain Jeff did a great job at sharing the history and significance of the islands and landmarks as we passed them. The food was beyond expectations and when the bar opened up, they kept the drinks flowing. The snorkelling itself was beautiful, allowing us to see a large variety of tropical fish within our 3 stops. Great value and great experience!

Nick and Jeff were so hospitable and made sure everyone was taken care of the whole time! Great views, great snorkeling and smooth ride!

We had a great time snorkeling at three different locations around beautiful St John. Captain Scott and First mate Nick made sure everyone was comfortable and having a good time. Food and drinks from start to finish. Knowledgeable about the areas we visited and the wildlife we were able to view. We even had a guided tour with Nick on our last stop. Appreciated the emphasis on safety and caring for the fragile environment we were visiting.

The Breakaway II crew (Captain Jeff, and mates Nick, Christian, and Fairley) gave us an amazing day on the water around St John. The information about the geography of the region and the coves we snorkel at was informative and interesting. The breakfast - and *especially(* the lunch - were so far beyond what you'd expect to geton a trip like this (we had fresh shrimp, meats and cheeses for sandwiches, Caesar salad and these great little brownies with kiwi on them). And the drinks were enough to keep you hydrated on the way our and enough to get you a "little tispy" on the way back in. The sites they picked were great - plenty of fish, turtles, rays and more to see while doing our swims. We stayed at Margaritaville, so pickup for us was right off the dock on property. The entire trip was 6+ hours -- plenty of time in the water, and cool sites to go to. FWIW: I prefer the powerboat option to the catamaran option -- our boat had 20 people onboard, where the catamarans usually have 50+, and the good sized engines on it got us to sites quickly and smoothly. We went out with them twice - our first week was with another couple, and we had so much fun with this crew that we booked the second week to go with our 4 adult kids. the price on the tour is absolutely worth it - it's an entire day of fun, food, fish and a damn good time.

Snorkeling Day Trip from 9am-3pm. While the crew was genuinely hospitable, the vessel was well-maintained, the snorkeling equipment was adequate, and the meals served were enjoyable against the breathtaking island backdrop, I do believe there are several operational refinements that could elevate this excursion from good to exceptional. My primary observation centers on time management. A significant portion of our itinerary--approximately 40 to 50 minutes--was dedicated to extensive on-site briefings and detailed contextual talks about marine life and beach preferences. Additionally, the liability paperwork was quite lengthy, which further reduced our active water time. While I fully appreciate that educational commentary enriches the experience, I respectfully noted that a substantial amount of this information could have been effectively shared during transit (such as the 20-minute ride out) or consolidated into concise visual aids and summary boards upon arrival. Regarding the itinerary, our group had specifically requested a few nearby beaches located only 5 to 10 minutes further along. Although we understood that ours was a smaller group of eight on a partial-day charter, we were instead taken to alternative locations. When we inquired about visiting the requested spots, we were advised that time did not permit it. With all due respect, it seemed that the time allocated to the extended dockside presentations could have been reallocated to accommodate those short transits, allowing us to experience the more desirable locations without compromising the overall schedule. To optimize the guest experience, I would respectfully suggest that operators consider the following adjustments: deliver essential safety and educational briefings while the boat is en route, or in a pre-made video during their liability waiver signing, post succinct instructional boards for quick reference, and prioritize the top two or three premier snorkeling spots at St Johns from the outset of the trip, reserving secondary stops for the return leg. These small but meaningful changes would not only maximize time in the water but also ensure that all guests feel their preferences are genuinely heard and respected. Ultimately, streamlining the logistics and trusting that guests can absorb information efficiently would go a long way toward making an already pleasant charter a truly outstanding and memorable one.

We spent an amazing day snorkeling with Captain Jeff and his crew. We made three stops for snorkeling and got to see amazing wildlife at each stop -- sea turtles, stingrays, vibrant coral, and many different types of fish. They kept us fed throughout the day, serving both breakfast and lunch, and kept the drinks flowing as well. We had plenty of time to snorkel and enjoy the beautiful waters at each stop, and still had time to take the "scenic route" back. If you're looking for a relaxing day out on the water, we couldn't recommend this tour more.

This was a great tour! The captain was very comfortable leading us into the water and explained everything before we set sail. The crew were professional and most importantly- had enough food for everyone :) We were served some muffin and fruit for breakfast and a spread of shrimp, meats, caesar salad, bread, and chocolate brownies for lunch. The drinks were always flowing as well as the water :) Out of the 3 spots we visited, Caneel Bay was the best! Saw tons of fish and a sea turtle. I went solo and had a great time. Everyone on the boat were nice and friendly.

Our trip and tour guides were outstanding. Captains D’Haden and Nick were very welcoming and cracked lots of funny jokes along the way. We took three stops and were served breakfast and lunch over 5 hours. We saw rays, sea turtles, puffer fish, porcupine fish, colorful coral, a lobster, and so much more. Breakfast was light, so if you tend to be a hungrier person, maybe eat a little something beforehand. Lunch was a serve yourself buffet style and sooo good!! I would absolutely recommend this trip to anyone. Very couple, friends, and family friendly! You definitely get a lot out of this experience for your money. If you haven’t already booked this for your visit to St. Thomas, you absolutely should!

Captain Jeff and First Mate Christian were fantastic. Everything was smooth and professional and still fun. If you love sea critters this is the tour for you. They knew all about the places and creatures and really seemed to enjoy sharing the knowledge. What a great time!

This excursion was the highlight of our trip! It was such an easy day. The guides were a lot of fun and took care of everything the whole day so we could just enjoy our time with our kids. Will definitely be booking again.

My family including 18 yo, 13 yo, husband and myself went snorkeling and saw several sea turtles, sting rays, spotted eagle rays, puffer fish and multiple varied fish. Everyone LOVED this trip. Highlight of our vacation. D’Hayden and Christian were wonderful and accommodating and I would definitely do this again! Captain Jeff and Max could not have been kinder and professional. We all felt very safe and well prepared. The snorkeling was amazing. We are a family of eight celebrating my granddaughter’s fourteenth birthday. Snorkeling was first on her list of musts. None of us were disappointed. We all had a blast. My husband and I took this excursion and boy did we get our money's worth. Our crew, Captain D and First Mate Christian, were amazing. We had 3 snorkeling spots, where we saw tons of turtles, stingrays and beautiful fish. After the first stop we were treated to a fabulous lunch, bottomless drinks and fun music. The scenery was just breathtaking. Captain D acknowledged those celebrating birthdays, anniversary, engagement, retirement, you name it! I highly recommend. Thank you Captain D and Christian for a perfect and super fun day!!!

Great day on this snorkel adventure! The crew was super nice and the snorkel spots were great. We got to see lots of fish and even some turtles!

Almost everything about the experience was great. I was disappointed that I wasn't in the water in time to see the sting ray like some of group members did. I did get to see lots of fish, a squid, & sea turtle. The biggest "issue" was a fellow group member that was clearly inebriated. She seemed fine when boarding, but as our trip progressed, it became increasingly obvious that she was under the influence of something other than the drinks on the boat. Her swimsuit wasn't properly secured & we all got to see way more than we bargained for. There were kids on the boat (teens/tweens) that were visibly uncomfortable.

The captain & crew are very knowledgeable & keep you very safe during this trip. This was an amazing experience in calm water during snorkeling. We saw sea turtles, lots of colored fish & learned history about the surrounding islands. This is a fantastic trip to do with family.
