Snorkel & Swim With Turtles. Semi Private Tour To Buck Island & Honeymoon Beach

Wonderful snorkeling trip- Capt Rusty took care of our group and we swan next to sea turtles- I would recommend this tour

Not having heard from the operators I called around 6 the night before. They did not respond. We were up at 7 and taxied to the site by 8:00 AM. At 8:00 AM the operators sent us a text that the excursion was cancelled due to not having enough participants. I was pissed. We were there ready to board and then they tell us it's cancelled. I was required to give 24 hours notice to cancel. I told them this was a shi**y way to treat us. They said "apologies".

Rusty is great! Saw turtles and had a wonderful time! It’s wonderful that it’s a small group activity and close to the cruise port!

We had a fantastic trip with Captain Brayson! He shared a lot of knowledge about the area and what we'd see snorkeling, and he made a special detour to Honeymoon Beach when he learned it had been my dream to visit it for more than 40 years. We had an amazing day on the water - 10/10 recommend Seas the Day and Captain Brayson!

There weren’t enough people who booked on our day at the spot so we got moved to a different pick up point but it turned out really good! We saw sea turtles and sting rays. Brayson was a good captain!

the boat was a rusted fishing boat, with only a captain no other crew member, we snorkeled at Bucks Island for 45 minutes, stopped over a sunken ship that was supposedly 40 ft down, given 8 minutes to view, was able to view nothing. The captain drove the boat to the very large rocky shoreline where he told us we had to jump off the 4 ft bow into the rocky shoreline. Both myself and my husband are 74 years old and I told him I preferred to stay on the boat. He made us jump and left us there for 1 1/2 hours. When he returned it was getting dark and we were the only ones at the beach. Then he asked for a 20% tip stating he wasn't paid by the owner but work for gratuities like a bar tender. I would absolutely stay away from this tour. So very disappointed!

Excellent snorkeling and beautiful water! Cap. Brason put us on fish and turtles. Turtles was amazing! Captain also made a stop to an old ship wreck which was a bonus! 5⭐️

I believe the captain's name was Captain Brayson, phenomal work, locations were fantastic, saw some turtles, baracuda, ray. Meeting point was great, Brayson is quick, down to earth, funny, tipped him well. As someone who used to work in service industry, people complaining about tipping or anything here are out of touch with the hard working people of today. Scheduling was easy, punctual, 100% will be back

We had an awesome day with Capt Alex. We went out on one of the smaller power catamarans. Snorkeled at Gr. St. James and Lavongo Key. Saw turtles, rays, all kinds of reef fish and corals up close. Boat was comfortable, music and vibes were good, all the space filled with interesting and engaging conversations. Trip was 4hrs and didn’t feel a minute too long. 10/10 would recommend.

We had a great time on this excursion! Brayson was funny and super nice! There were only 9 of us on our excursion. Our first stop we snorkled and saw several turtles! There was another excursion in the water with us that was packed with people! The second stop was a shipwreck. This wasn't super exciting, but it was neat to see. The last stop was Honeymoon Beach. He dropped us off, right at the shore. We snorkeled and saw a few fish. Then we went over to Dinghy's Bar and had some delicious drinks! This was a lovely spot! Brayson picked us up on shore and we headed back to Port. He offered us beer, soda, and water the entire time. The equipment was clean and in great condition. There were 4 of us in our party and we all enjoyed our day!

We were on a smaller boat with only 7 people. Nice boat and the captain was very easygoing. Great people and a great experience. We were able to see a few turtles and fish.

My husband and I did this for our honeymoon and we were very lucky to have Captain Rusty as our guide. He was so chill and fun, and answered any questions we had. They are serious about showing up 15mins early and leaving on time! So, if you don't wanna miss out then i suggest you arrive atleast 30mins early. Park over by Moe's and then walk towards the Wendy's to the left, walk towards the sea, and you will see a fence theater has an opening on the right. Go through the fence and find the little blue R Bar to meet up with your captain. We brought our own snorkel equipment, but they had fins and snorkel things to borrow if needed. Also they have drinks (both alcoholic and non) included! We made 2 stops, and the second was Honeymoon beach which was 10/10. The food there is delicious, and the drinks are strong! Lots of turtles to see in that area too!

The marina was easy to find by taxi and we left on time from the pier. There was 11 of us on the boat plus the captain. Because of the windy conditions, we had to go to a different cove-ok, no one’s fault. After an hr of snorkeling, we went to Honeymoon beach. The boat anchored in deep water and we had to swim to shore! Could not bring our beach supplies. Other boats drove up close in knee deep water. The captain was just ok, no engagement…Overall, not worth the money!

Loved it. The wifey and I have never seen turtles up close and personal. On this tour, we say 20! Simply put an amazing tour.

Saw sea turtle and fishes! We went to two islands. I would go on a sunny day since if it's cloudy it can be slightly foggy under the water.

The trip was great until we were leaving and the captain asked us if we were leaving a tip. We told him we don’t have cash and he said he takes Venmo. When we told him we don’t have Venmo, his response was “you know we work off of tip, not cool guys”. It was a very uncomfortable feeling since gratuity is optional.

Captain Rusty drove us to Buck Island, gave us plenty of pointers on where to snorkel and what to look for. We were there for about an hour. He then took us to Water island where we got to swim to shore and grab some fish tacos from the Dinghy's bar & grill before getting back in the water to watch some turtles. Got sunburned even after applying sunscreen twice, so be sure to get a really good reef-safe sunscreen and apply frequently.

Great experience. Capt Rusty was great! Traveled with boyfriend and we enjoyed snorkeling along with honeymoon beach. The food was AMAZING! Try the fresh catch and the bang bang shrimp!

The booking was easy. They followed up with all the necessary details. The meeting point was easy to find. Our captain, Brayson, was funny, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We loved the two islands. I just wish that day had brought us more turtles. The equipment was in good shape and clean as well as the boat. Would definitely do it again!

If you’re looking for a mellow experience this might be the excursion for you. The boat was small and better if you like small crowds. The captain was responsible but a little uptight and made it difficult to relax and enjoy the experience to the fullest. A cooler w drinks was offered but there was no Food or light snacking. The music was ok but not as exciting if you are looking for that Caribbean, each excursion, party boat experience.

Rusty was a great captain and the crew were great. Good communication and the snorkeling was amazing!

We went snorkeling. We saw turtles and fish as advertised. So that was accomplished. The boat was pretty average. I didn't read the section stating the type of boat we would be on. I had catamaran in my mind like all the pictures. That wasn't the case. It lists the boat names but I didn't take the time to see what those boats looked like. So that was on me. The boat was pretty weathered. It wasn't a catamaran. Simple boat with bench seats along the sides. The captain was on his own. He did the best he could to serve drinks, help with gear, drive and tie down the boat. I was surprised that only one guy was overseeing everyone and all operations. There were probably 10-12 people on the boat. So not a huge group. They had about 5 pool noodles offered up for people to use. I had to ask if there were any other flotation devices to use. There were a few more snorkeling vest available. Surrounding boat companies had staff in the water watching to be sure everyone was safe. It was pretty no frills. We went snorkeling. We saw fish and turtles.

Captain was not polite. The boat was anchored at least 50 yards from the beach stop. You had to swim to the beach, which means you could not take towels, phone or money.

Rusty our captain was very mechanical and just going through the ropes. We did sw with turtles though, which was good!

The snorkeling was fantastic!!! There are so many different species of fish and the Turtles are great!!! Great experience!! A must do!!!

Disappointing experience. The captain provided basic safety equipment but offered zero guidance on how to use it. He skipped over the basics of snorkeling and mask fitting, essentially assuming everyone on board was an expert. Beyond the lack of safety prep, he was totally indifferent to the group—never checked in to see if we were having fun or finding any marine life. Not recommended for beginners or anyone looking for a guided experience.

Amazing experience! Rusty, the Captain for Seas the Day was helpful and informative. He knows the are well. Highly recommend taking this excursion. My daughter has a horrible fear of the ocean, but even she couldn’t help but ride in the front of the boat, laughing and having the time of her life up there.

We went to two snorkel destinations. We did not see any turtles and there was not much direction we were just told to follow the other tour groups. There was only one staff member with us, so one was not available to come in the water with us in point things out. Also in the booking it said we will be brought to honeymoon Beach for lunch however the boat anchored and the tour guy told us it’s a five minute swim to the island. We were not prepared and did not bring any wet bags for our money. Luckily the tour guide had something we could borrow for this. We did have to rush for lunch on the island due to this. We did see two turtles while snorkeling there though!

We really liked that it was a small group (there were only seven of us on our trip). Safe, enjoyable trip for snorkelers of various levels of experience. We saw turtles, coral, lots of fish and beautiful views of the islands. Thank you Captain Rusty!

Captain Braydon was amazing! He was very lively and a great tour guide. He made sure we had fun, but also safe about the entire trip. Would book again!

Braysen was a fantastic captain, we enjoyed our excursion and saw many sea turtles and fish! Only thing that needs to be changed is the meeting point, needs to be near 13 restaurant or VI jet boat tours. Could not find R bar on maps and location pin showed south of virgin’s haven restaurant, which was incorrect.

Me and my fiancé had a great day. We got to see a lot of sea turtles 🐢. Our captain Bryson was hospitable and knowledgeable about the island. Overall, great experience I would recommend this company to anyone 🙂

The morning of the 2/21 Snorkel, I received a text from Rusty saying the industry standard tip is 20%, and cash is king. Most snorkelers know nothing about tipping the crew or, in this case, Rusty, so they are perfect targets to be suckered into a 20% tip. However, I am a diver and have been on many dive boats where the crew works much harder than on this snorkeling trip, and I have never seen a pre 20% tip as the standard. A 20% tip is not the industry standard; it's a Rusty standard. When the tip is included before the trip, there is no reason for Rusty to work for the tip, and that is exactly what happened. Rusty drove the boat, gave the standard boat-safety information, and did little to earn his 20% tip. I watched everyone get off the boat, and everyone gave him cash. If the 20% standard tipping policy is mandatory, Seas the Day should inform customers before booking.

Loved the smaller group. The captain was very knowledgeable and knew a lot about the area. We got to see a barracuda and 3 Sea Turtles.

Had a great morning of snorkelling. Captain Rusty was brilliant and looked after us very well. We saw so many fish, turtles and even a shark. It was an excellent trip and great that we were such a small group (so not overwhelmed by large numbers of people, as other trip providers were). Thank you Lindsay for recommending Seas the Day USVI.
