I rented a private sailboat thru Viator and was super happy with the result. It was a gorgeous 40 foot sailboat and exactly how I imagined. We had a great Capitan, Kendall, that was super experienced, knowledgeable, and friendly. I had just proposed to my fiancé and it was a magical sail. We captured incredible golden hour photos. The scenery from the boat was phenomenal. They had a full bar and cheese board. Great experience all the way around.

10/10 experience. The guide was great at showing us the different islands that we passed by and giving us different facts and history during the duration of the sail. Our taxi was running behind so we were a little late arriving but they waited until we got there which wasn’t too long after but the tour was amazing the cheese and cracker board was great and the drinks were veryyy good. I would definitely do this again. I cannot remember the persons name who was our guide but I did tip through cash app and the last name was Grant so I hope that helps!

We had a really nice sunset cruise on the Francis Anne. Captain Tommy was AWESOME! He really hustled all around. He did a fantastic job getting drinks prepared and also our snack board was yummy. The semi private 6 person set up really makes it feel special. I recommend this, it was a beautiful way to spend the early part of the evening. 5 Stars Tommy! Thanks

Captain Tommy and First Mate Courtney were the best tour guides and gave the best experience possible. The boat was beautiful and spacious. The mixed drinks and snacks were amazing as well. Me and my fiancée got engaged on the trip and Tommy and Courtney made sure to help (and film) the whole process. One of the best experiences ever!! Couldn’t beat the views.

What could be better than a tropical sunset sail with good company, plentiful cold drinks, and delicious snacks with a knowledgable, capable crew?This was our favorite evening of our vacation! We plan to go back to St. Thomas again next year and will definitely book another sunset cruise with Virgin Island Day sailing. Mark and Rusty were so interesting and fun to sail with, and they made us feel welcome and comfortable from the minute we stepped onto their immaculately maintained sailboat. I was a little skeptical about going out on a sailboat, but it truly was a beautiful, peaceful experience. WE LOVED IT!!

Mark and Rusty were amazing hosts, and they worked hard to provide an amazing experience and unique views. The drinks were delicious and plentiful. I also proposed to my girlfriend on this cruise and they were so helpful with that as well.

Mark and Rusty were awesome. My wife was on crutches and they were more than accommodating. A knowledgeable captain who provided a safe and relaxing sunset cruise. They both were very interesting to talk with. Highly recommend. We'll look for them next time we come back to book again.

Super fun! This was the first thing we did when we got to St. Thomas. Rusty and Mark were very welcoming and professional but also friendly and personable. The other group on the boat was fun too. Yummy and refreshing drinks and beautiful sunset views.

Mark and Rusty were gracious hosts, knowledgeable, friendly and down to earth. I felt almost immediately like I was with old friends showing me treasures they found. The perfect blend of facts, history and peace set me on island time, escaping from the chaos of both my everyday life, and trying to navigate driving in St Thomas. The boat was also immaculate and perfectly organized. They served us a delicious lunch with choreographed percussion. Logistically, they knew both how to navigate the water, and how not to land us amongst a dozen of other snorkelers. Rusty showed my crew a lot of great under the sea views, including a jellyfish and lots of turtles. He then made me an excellent Pain killer. Over all my only concern was how fast the day went by and that we didn’t have them scheduled again for the next day.

My family of 4 took the sunset cruise out of Sapphire Beach Marina in August of 2023. The boat, the Frances Anne, led by Captain Mark was clean and comfortable. Rusty helped with the ropes, the snacks, and the drinks! Mark gave us a great tour of St John’s and the smaller surrounding islands. I recommend the trip!

We had a great time! The crew was awesome and accomodative for a marriage proposal on board the ship. Highly recommend this private cruise ship to anyone looking for a reasonably priced and enjoyable experience.

Capt Mark and mate Rusty I believe it was were super outgoing friendly and funny. We were on his boat with only one other couple who just happen to be a little celebrity (she worked for Jim Henson and voiced for dark crystal!) which made myself and Rusty a little star struck and brought back childhood memories! Then come to find out Capn Mark is a little celebrity himself! To be honest the company was so great we almost forgot about the views! Such a great crew and experience! Rusty knew a lot about the surrounding islands and both knew some pretty cool facts about the area. Definitely book it! It is more than other excursions but that’s because it’s worth more! VERY PRIVATE and clean beautiful boat! If you do take this trip please TIP YOUR CREW! The mates lives off those tips, and I don’t know if people are unaware, or it’s just a here thing but the last few excursions we’ve been on people aren’t tipping the crews… SO TIP THEM ALREADY! Even if it’s small if 20 people tipped $5/each that’s $100 for them! Anyways rant over! Great time Mark and Rusty! Wish you weren’t booked up or we’d book another before leaving! 5 stars!

This sunset cruise was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. I booked it mainly because it held a maximum of six guests and you could have the entire boat to yourselves. Mark and Rusty were very friendly and even let our twelve year old son help with steering and letting up one of the sails. The sailboat was relaxing and they made sure we got to see the sunset before heading in. On the way back there was a lovely charcuterie board to snack on. Not to mention the boat was spotless and very clean. We would highly recommend this tour.

The sail was great, Mark and Rusty were both fun and great. Was definitely a highligtht of our trip. Would recommend to anyone considering a sunset sail. There were only 5 of us on the sail which made it more enjoyable than any larger cruise. Fantastic valu, too.

Despite the lackluster wind Capn Mark and Jess made for a great sunset sail experience. We got to know some very nice people and had some great chats. All in all highly recommended. Bob.

Last night Mark, Julie and Rusty took us on a sunset cruise that was the highlight of our month on St. Thomas. We were treated like old friends and would recommend highly to anyone who wants an intimate experience on the water.

What a really nice sail! Mark and Rusty were both terrific, and Rusty is a great bartender! The atmosphere, the boat and the route were all terrific. We saw a great sunset over the mountains and really enjoyed a nice sail. Great time!

Perfect day with Alex and Rusty. Started off snorkeling on the reef, crystal clear water, even saw an eel. Then on to Maho Bay where we saw huge turtles, after we jumped into the water with Halle the barracuda that Alex rescued from an injury that comes to the boat every time he’s there. They cooked us a great lunch and then followed with a nice sail back to Sapphire Beach. They were very patient with my mother that was pretty nervous to snorkel. Very knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife.

Mark and Rusty are great! They kept our glasses full and catered to any needs we had. I got to pull the ropes!!! Don't forget to yell WEEE on the low side!

Mark and Rusty are great guys. Saw to our every need. Made sure to go over safety. Great conversations. Make you feel right at home. Come aboard as strangers but leave as friends. Must sail with these guys when on island. Had an absolute great time. I really enjoyed seeing all the islands up front instead of from the beach.

What an awesome experience! The US Virgin Islands are beautiful but seeing them from a sailboat gives you a wonderfully unique perspective. Mark and Jess were outstanding hosts and we were never without good conversation. They educated us about the surrounding islands and some of its history, all the while keeping our 11 and 15 year old sons engaged and mesmerized. We went out with Cpt Alex and 1st Mate Eric for the afternoon dinner and sunset sail. The trip was great, chatting and hearing about their adventures while sailing, the beautiful waters around the VI. They were great with snorkeling tips for the 2 stops and then sailing/motoring into the sunset. Drinks were whatever we wanted and dinner was tasty! They were great hosts! Highly recommended!

A great sail and a fun way to end the day. Beautiful scenery, and the Captain and First Mate were knowledgeable about the area and gave good tips about Restaurants, things to do, etc.

We had an amazing experience on the sunset cruise. We went to spread my husband’s grandparents’ ashes and Alex & Rusty were amazing. We went snorkeling in 2 fantastic spots, had a great dinner and great company on a 6-7 hour excursion. They were kind and accommodating to my young kids (8 and 5 years old) and the open bar/rum punch was just what mom needed. Our family did a bunch of research to find the right company for this important event and we are so glad that we went with Virgin Islands Day Sailing. It was a phenomenal experience that I would highly recommend as a great way to spend the day in the Virgin Islands or the perfect way to memorialize a loved one.

Mark and Rusty were great hosts for our relaxing sunset cruise. Due to the other guests not being able to make it, my wife and I had the boat to ourselves which was an unexpected bonus. The company were great fun. The drink was flowing and the food was top notch. I strongly recommend this trip if you're in St Thomas. You won't be disappointed!!

Took the perfect day sail yesterday on the 39 foot sail boat and went between St. Thomas and St. John! Both the Captain & Crew were very accommodating and knowledgeable! Always felt safe and we sailed to a bay where we saw turtles and beautiful fish & coral! It felt like our own private tour - loved it! Ready to do it again!

Great trip with Captain Alex and Danny! Alex was very knowledgeable about the local waters, clearly a very experienced captain, and even taught us a few things about sailing. They were personable, attentive to us as their guests, and just all around great guys. We highly recommend sailing with them and will be back ourselves when we visit again!
