Full Day Boat Charter - 50' Luxury Sea Ray Sundancer

This was the most amazing day of our lives. From the time we booked to leaving the marina to go home, everything was exceptional. Carrie was so wonderful with answering our questions beforehand and making sure we would have a memorable experience. The captain and first mate were fun and terrific the entire time. We were treated like royalty and had the most exceptional time exploring the BVI. Thank you Sonic Charters!

Great day out snorkeling and swimming in the US Virgin Islands . Our Captain , Nate and first mate, Becky were fantastic . They provided us with all of the snorkeling gear as well as keeping the drinks flowing! We stopped at a number of spots and also had lunch in Cruz Bay on St Johns . I can't say enough about this trip and if you want a fantastic way to spend a day, booking any of Sonic Charters excursions is a great option !

This was our second year in a row using Sonic Charters, and specifically Captain Nate and Becky, for our family BVI boat day. Another phenomenal day and experience for our family of 10, including small children. Thank you Nate and Becky for another unforgettable day on the water exploring the BVIs. We cannot recommend Sonic Charters highly enough.

We had a great day with Sonic Charters! Holden and Lauren were great - they took us to great spots, made great drinks and ensured that all family members were happy, from ages 8 to 80. Holden listened to what we wanted to do and took us to great snorkeling and swimming spots, and the snorkeling equipment they had on-board was high quality so it made for a fantastic day! Would book with them again.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience because it was honestly one of the most disappointing customer service experiences I’ve ever had especially after spending thousands of dollars to celebrate my birthday with 12 girls on what was supposed to be a special day. From the moment we stepped onto the boat, the atmosphere felt cold and unwelcoming. The staff gave the impression that they did not want to be there or even wanted us there. There was no excitement, hospitality, or effort to make the experience enjoyable. We constantly had to ask for simple things, such as raising the music volume because we could barely hear anything. Every request felt like an inconvenience to them, and the overall energy on the boat made everyone uncomfortable. The experience became so frustrating that we ended up docking at the island and spending almost the entire day there instead of enjoying the boat we paid so much money for. That alone says a lot. What shocked me the most, however, was the way the situation was handled afterward. When we spoke to the manager to express our disappointment, instead of listening with professionalism or empathy, she became defensive and accused us of being “the worst group they’ve ever had.” I was honestly in disbelief by the disrespect, accusations, and gaslighting we received simply for voicing concerns about the poor service. As a business owner myself, I understand that not every day or every client interaction will be perfect. However, professionalism, accountability, and customer service should always come first. There is a major difference between handling feedback with grace and attacking paying customers who are simply disappointed in the service they received. Sadly, what was supposed to be a memorable birthday experience turned into a huge disappointment. What makes this even more disappointing is that this was not just one person’s opinion or misunderstanding. There is simply no way that all 12 girls in our group walked away feeling the exact same way if the experience had truly been good. Not a single person in our party felt welcomed or enjoyed the service provided on the boat, which says a lot about the overall experience and atmosphere created by the staff.

We booked this company for two separate charter days in St. Thomas, and the contrast between our experiences was honestly shocking. Day 1 (Catamaran – Chris & Lauren): Outstanding. Chris and Lauren gave us one of the best charter experiences we’ve ever had. They were attentive, kind, proactive, and genuinely seemed invested in making sure everyone had a great time. Lauren made excellent drinks, constantly checked in to see if we needed anything, and was incredibly attentive while we were at the beach. Chris went above and beyond in ways that made the day memorable. He even took the dinghy out to refill our waters while we were relaxing on shore. At one point, he spotted turtles swimming nearby, stopped the boat, and let us jump in to snorkel with them. He also recommended an excellent restaurant, dropped us off, and came back to pick us up. It was the kind of experience that makes you excited to book again. We happily tipped them very well because they absolutely earned it. Unfortunately, Day 2 could not have been more different. Day 2 (Sea Ray – Kenny & Becky): Extremely disappointing and uncomfortable. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt tense and unwelcoming. When Kenny and Becky arrived, there appeared to be tension between them, and unfortunately that energy seemed to carry throughout the day and into interactions with our group. It took a long time to leave the dock, and once underway in rough water, we were asked to remain seated in a very small section of the boat for most of the ride. Instead of feeling welcomed onto a private charter, the experience quickly became uncomfortable. When we asked for music, we were initially told it could not be played because Kenny and Becky needed to communicate with one another. After we questioned this, music was eventually turned on, but so low it was barely noticeable. Small detail perhaps, but it reflected the tone of the day, requests felt inconvenient rather than welcomed. The overall hospitality was noticeably different from our first charter. Asking for drinks or refills felt uncomfortable, and interactions often came across as annoyed rather than accommodating. Our first stop was customs. We were hoping to simply wait for our documents and continue on to the beach, but comments were made that made our group feel unwelcome for remaining onboard. Kenny recommended several places to visit while we waited, so we left the boat, only to find that every place we were directed to was closed, resulting in wasted time wandering around instead of enjoying the island. Afterward, we went to our first and only beach stop, where we swam to shore and ultimately spent all of our time off the vessel because the atmosphere onboard simply did not feel enjoyable. The boat itself also had a damp, moldy smell inside the cabin, making it unpleasant to spend time below deck. Even the outdoor seating felt worn, with ripped edges on portions of the seating. What makes this especially disappointing is that our first experience proved this company is capable of delivering exceptional service. Chris and Lauren were phenomenal and represented exactly what you hope for in a luxury charter. Unfortunately, our experience with Kenny and Becky was the complete opposite and left us uncomfortable enough that we would not book through this company again. If you choose to book, I would strongly recommend requesting Chris and Lauren specifically.

It ended up wasting a significant amount of time wandering around instead of enjoying our day. After customs, we only made one beach stop. We swam to shore and ended up spending all our time there because honestly the atmosphere onboard was so uncomfortable that we did not even want to return to the boat. The condition of the boat itself was also disappointing. Inside the cabin there was a damp, moldy smell that made it unpleasant to spend time below deck, and some of the outdoor seating had ripped and worn edges that made the boat feel poorly maintained overall.

Our experience with Sonic Charter was extremely mixed. On the first day, we went out on the catamaran with Captain Chris and Lauren, and they were absolutely wonderful. From the moment we stepped on board, they made us feel welcomed, comfortable, and excited for the day ahead. Their service was excellent, they were incredibly sweet and attentive, and they gave us amazing suggestions for places to see and explore. The entire experience felt relaxing, fun, and memorable, and it truly set a very high expectation for the company. Unfortunately, our second day experience was the complete opposite. We rented a Sea Ray with the same company expecting the same level of hospitality and professionalism, but we were deeply disappointed. It was a different captain, and the first mate was Becky. From the beginning, they made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcomed on the boat. The atmosphere was tense and unpleasant, completely unlike the warm experience we had the day before. We were so uncomfortable that we ultimately decided not to stay on the boat at all. It was disappointing because our first experience showed how amazing a charter day can be when you have a crew that genuinely cares about the guests. Chris and Lauren were exceptional, but the second experience unfortunately left us with a very negative impression overall

This was an amazing experience. Nate and Becky worked the boat for us and were incredibly knowledgeable about the islands. They knew just where to take us so that our adult group of 10 would have e a great experience. Cocktails were part of the package as well as all the snorkle gear we needed. I highlybrecommend this group!

Eric and Lauren were awesome hosts they took us to some great snorkeling spots as well as just stopping to dive in and swim. We parked at lime out for lunch and absolutely loved our whole day on the boat. Can't wait to come back again! I rented a few years ago and I do think the boat has a bit of wear and tear since my last visit but it was still a great time.

We did a full day to BVI on their 50' boat and it was an incredible day! The boat had all the amenities for a full day on the water. Our captain and 1st mate were topnotch and helped make the trip even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Sonic Charters!!

This was a beautiful day on an beautiful boat. The two staff on board, Hayden and Becky were amazing, helping with snacks, drinks, water information, pointing out sea-life and overall just great people to be on the boat with.

We had the best day with Captain Nate and the crew gal I think her name was Beth from Minnesota (sorry if that is t her correct name but she was awesome!) Both just were so friendly and professional and made our day incredible. The Searay is a great, comfortable, immaculate clean and safe boat. We had 4 Adults and a teenager and 7 year old. We went to the Baths in Virgin Gorda and a stop at Peter Island. This was a bologna of our vacation.

A boat is a boat is a boat..right? No, a boat charter is what the captain and crew make it to be. Yes, the Sundancer is very comfortable, spacious, clean, and has all the accommodations, but the crew is what makes it special. From the welcoming at the dock, to the return at the end of the day, their friendliness and attention to detail by the captain and the crew was incredible. The bar was well stocked, and the fruit punch was top notch. You can do a day charter with a large group of strangers for much more less $$ but the experience and memories will not be the same. In those you get inconvenienced by the crowd, got to watch your stuff, you get pushed and kicked, need to make a line to snack, eat and drink. Not with a private charter like this. Their knowledge of the are was palpable by their recommendations on where to go and what we would see on those areas. I highly recommend this crew and company. Their communication to us before, during and after the charter was on point, precise and friendly. The surpassed all expectations.

Our day with Sonic Charters on the 50' Luxury Sea Ray was AMAZING! We had 12 people along, and everyone enjoyed the cruise to Virgin Gorda (Baths) and Yost Van Dyke, home of the Soggy Dollar beach bar. Captain Eric and First Mate Becky were very attentive and catered to all of our needs. I would highly recommend them for anyone considering to charter a boat while in St Thomas!

It was a perfect day. Loved w wet minute of it. Eric and Sally took great care of us. Stopped at Lovango and stopped to snorkel. Fun half day.

We had an amazing day with Jake and Becky. It was a very expensive day but worth every penny. The visa costs were way higher than estimated. The fuel costs were maxed out but we went to a lot of places so I expected that. The boat was very nice and like I said Jake and Becky were awesome all day. One thing I was disappointed with was the pictures that shows downstairs and I naturally assumed we were renting the entire boat. That was not the case at all. The only area we had access to downstairs was the toilet. I think they should remove those pictures and clearly state no access to lower deck. For first time renters its always a good idea with any company to send them pics of the boat you believe you are renting and have them verify it. You don’t want to show up and find out you actually rented a different boat. I recommend this group. They treated us well and we had an awesome time. Just clarify what you have access to on the boat you rent.

Another amazing charter! This was our 4th charter with Sonic Charters. Gus was our captain and Becky was our crew/bartender. They both were amazing and paid attention to our needs/wants. We loved the experience of being treated like "celebrities"! We bar hopped the BVI"s and had the perfect day! I would highly recommend booking your own private charter. It was such a fun experience!!

Amazing day with our captains, Sally and Eric!! Excellent service, drinks were delicious and went to the best spots around St John and St Thomas. They had all the Water toys, (ie lilly pad, underwater scooter etc) and took us to excellent snorkeling areas! My group had the best time!

Sonic Charters is amazing. Whenever I have family visiting and they want to go out on a boat we always use Sonic because they ensure my family has a wonderful, fun, and safe adventure. On this trip we celebrated my Aunt's retirement and her grandson (9 months) was even with us on this trip. We traveled to the BVI, snorkeled, enjoyed a lovely lunch, and finished the day with final snorkel at Christmas Cove. Thank you for an incredible day on the water - my whole family enjoyed our time together with Sonic.

This was the best part of our vacation to St. Thomas. Our family loved getting to see St. Thomas and St. John from the water. Christian was an excellent captain and Becky was a great crew member and host. We felt safe and had so much fun! They brought us to a beautiful tiny beach that our family was able to swim in all alone. We then went snorkeling with sea turtles, which was awesome. We had lunch at Lime Out and then did more snorkeling around some beautiful coral and sun bathed. This day trip was well worth the price and we would love to do it again. I highly recommend the 50’ Sea Ray. Thanks again for an amazing day!

We had 16 of us on both the 50' Sea Ray Sundancer and the 37' Intrepid, and we truly had the best day. The captains (Becky, Nate, and Eric) were incredible! We swam with Turtles at Maho, had a one-of-a-kind experience at LimeOut and then they dropped us off at Scott's Beach where we were the only ones there on our own private beach! My wife and I have rented from Sonic Charters twice before (just the 2 of us), and each experience was totally unique and unbelievable both times. But having 16 of us enjoy this special island and this special day together will be a day that we will be talking about for the rest of our live. Thank you Sonic Charters! WE WILL BE BACK!!!

We can't say enough amazing things about Sonic Charters! We've now used them on three separate occasions, and each experience has been nothing short of spectacular. Our first two trips were catamaran adventures around the breathtaking island of St. John. Both times, the boats were immaculately maintained and incredibly modern, with all the amenities you could possibly need for a day out on the water. The crew was friendly, professional, and clearly passionate about what they do. They took us to the most stunning snorkeling spots and secluded beaches, all while making sure we were comfortable and having a wonderful time. Most recently, we decided to switch things up and chartered one of their speedboats for a day trip to Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands. Wow—what an adventure! The boat itself was sleek, fast, and equipped with everything from a shaded seating area to a top-notch sound system. The trip was perfectly organized, and the crew made crossing international waters feel seamless and stress-free. They even helped us navigate the customs process, which was a huge plus. Christmas day on the Caribbean!!! It couldn't have been more perfect! Our Captain Holden and First Mate Savannah went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing day! We snorkled, swam with sea turtles, saw a sunken ship, went to lunch at Lovango Island and enjoyed the gorgeous weather while cruising around the Caribbean. I highly recommend doing this with your favorite people!

Nate and Becky were pro's, they did an amazing job managing everything , communicating and making the day delightful. Nate and Becky were amazing with our 12 person group. We asked ot circumnavigate the island and they took us safely around. The snorkeling stops were perfect. They also had tons of gear for us to use, as well as great snacks, drinks and cheery attitudes.

Nate was awesome! They both took great care of us all day, bringing drinks and food, listened to what we were looking to do and taking us to some great spots. Some site seeing, playing in the water and cruising around listening to music. The boat was very comfortable (I took a long nap). We all left vacation and agreed that this was the coolest thing we did. Highly recommend Nate and Sonic Charters, thanks guys!!

Fantastic experience! Our captain and first mate were very professional, friendly and fun. The boat was clean and had plenty of room for the 6 of us. We had a great day snorkeling, jumping off Willy Tee's (spelling??) and going to Soggy Dollar.

We had a wonderful day trip with Sonic charters. Our Capt. Nate and Anna the crew were great. It was a very relaxing day and the snorklling was the best. The food and drinks were terrilfic and to have your own bartender and food prepper was a plus. I would do it again in a heart beat. Ages 8-75 and we all enjooyed it.

We had the absolute best day cruising around the USVI and BVI with Captain Alex and First Mate Weissy! They were extremely accommodating and planned out a perfect day of island hopping and checking out the best lunch spots and bars the BVI has to offer. The boat was extremely comfortable and well stocked for the 8 of us. We had 2 kids (6 & 4) who had an absolute blast and felt super safe on the boat the entire time. Pickup and drop off was super prompt and clearing customs was a breeze. Can't recommend them enough!

What an amazing experience!! Gus and Becky were awesome!! This was the first time to the islands for most of us and they made sure we had a great time. Would give them 6 stars if I could. If I'm ever lucky enough to make a return trip I will definitely be booking with them again.

We have done this charter many times and always with our favorite Captain Nate! We usually have first mate, Louise, but we had Becky this time and she was fabulous too! Captain Nate never disappoints! We visited the BVI this time, highly recommend! Pirate's Bight, Nigel's, and Soggy Dollar were all amazing! Our boat day is always our favorite day in the islands and with our favorite Captain!

Captain Nate and Kaelynn are the BEST! We spent 4 days with them hooping from island to island having a blast the entire time! Nate knew where to go and the right days and times to go to avoid crowds! Kaelynn makes the BEST painkiller on any island! We loved every trip and every island! See you next year!
