Michelle, our primary tour guide, was terrific and very informative. Her assistant, Jen, was still learning the trade and needed to speak louder. Along the tour we ate salted fish (not nearly as salty as it sounds), salmon balls, rice and chicken, Bananas Foster, and a couple of alcoholic drinks—the “Bushwacker” and the “Pain Killer.” Most of it was quite delicious, though the Buskwacker was a bit strong for our tastes. Be aware that this tour does involve a significant amount of walking, and the weather in St. Thomas, even in October, was quite warm and humid, so the tour was pretty draining. Michelle was a wonderful source of information about St. Thomas, including its history, construction materials, diet, industries, and more. At one restaurant you also get marvelous views of the area, but it does involve walking up a lot of steps. If you are on a cruise ship, you'll probably need to take a taxi to Fort Christian, where the tour begins. (The cost of the taxi is not included in the tour.)

It was a wonderful experience- very knowledgeable guides and the food and drink were very tasty _Fira and Janet made our tour.
We had a very enjoyable experience learning about both the history of St. Thomas and the food/culture. I would do this again.
The food tasting with the history was good , the areas where we walked was very interesting, the old buildings were pretty
Jose, our driver was wonderful. Prompt picking us up and getting us from our hotel back to airport. Kevin Jr though needs to be better at responding. We dont want to hear OK or confirmed. We want to hear "we confirm pickup on this date at this time". It just gives a traveler peace of mind. If he will practice that, everything will be awesome. I would have given this 5 stars if I had better responses from Kevin Jr.
We had the best time! Sabrina was super knowledgeable and very thoughtful. We loved learning about the city and getting to try the different restaurants and food that we probably would not have tried otherwise. HIGHLY recommend!
DeAndre was wonderful, sharing so much about the history and culture of St Thomas. The food was great, especially the passion fruit cake at the tea shop!
I did the tour in 2023 and again 2026. A couple of the food stops changed which brought us to new locations. This is a good tour which includes not only food samples but some history and information about the island. Our tour had four stops - three with food bites and one Painkiller stop. This tour brings you to some great businesses in the area. Norah Pierre was a friendly guide. Definitely a good tour to do in Charlotte Amalie.
We came on the tour during the off season. Lots of great history and information about St Thomas during our walk around Charlotte Amelie. Our tour guide, Norah, was very knowledgeable and friendly. We sampled Salt Fish Quiche, Salmon Balls, and curry chicken with rice and potato salad. Everything was so delicious.. we wanted more samples! lol We also got to try a rum punch, did a rum tasting and made painkillers. Afterwards, we continued touring Charlotte Amelie on our own and discovered even more great places for food and drinks. If you’re into history, food, drinks and a local vibe this tour is worth it.
This tour exceeded my expectations! Michelle was delightful, she gave us a history lesson of the island as well as exposing us to 5 local food places we would not have found on our own. Everything we ate and drank was amazing! The history shared was intriguing and engaging. We walked away with full stomachs and engaged minds; which is way more than I planned for with this tour. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour and suggest you request Michelle as your guide! Learning about St. Thomas from someone whose love for the island and culture she chose is palpable makes for an amazing experience!
I love food tours and this one was extremely disappointing. We had to go eat after the tour; the first stop was decent but each stop thereafter declined (except for making the painkiller cocktail). I had to leave a review because we went on the tour based on other reviews so it is important to be honest. Our money would have been better spent on a great dinner.

Not worth the money! We got 2 chicken wings and a little Mac and cheese at first place which was very tasty. Next place was a hot tea shop which served this yucky fish thing. Next was 2 conk fritters. That’s it! Left hungry and had to go eat some real food.
Sabrina was our tour guide she was very knowledgeable and was a blast to be around. If you come to St Thomas this is a must try tour. You get to see all the great local restaurants/ bars in downtown.
Lisa was an amazing guide!!!! Tour was the right amount of walking but there are some stairs involved. Nice history lesson and good food and drinks. Nice treat at the end with the dessert.
Flavors of St. Thomas Food Tour was absolutely fantastic! All five stops were amazing, and every bite and drink was top-notch. One of the best parts was getting to talk with each of the owners and hear their personal stories behind the food and their businesses. Our tour guide also did an incredible job sharing the history of St. Thomas and bringing the stories of the island to life along the way. It made the entire experience so much more than just a food tour. Great food, great drinks, wonderful people, and fascinating history. We loved every stop and highly recommend Flavors of St. Thomas Food Tour to anyone visiting the island. You will not be disappointed!
My Husband and I had an amazing time on the St. Thomas Walking Food Tour. The meeting was in a general area that’s was easy to find and well known by our taxi driver. Check in was easy and once we met with our tour guide Steve we were simply waiting for a few other people and then we were off. Steve was awesome and told us a bit about himself a bit prior and the standards that the creators and women of the food walking tour expect prior to hiring someone that can be a guide which I thought was really interesting and reassured me we we i good hands as it was something I was hesitant about at the time of booking. We were asked about any dietary restrictions and both my husband and I are non drinkers and so Steve made use to communicate with the restaurants ahead of time to accommodate us. The experience was a 10/10, Steve talked about the history as well was kept us entertained and asked questions about our lives and vise versa. He even had us making our own mock (cocktails)! I think for the value of each ticket it was not as much food as I was expecting but wasn’t bothered too much by it as we were supporting local businesses. This is not the experience for people that use canes or can’t walk a good amount as we walked a total of three ish miles around the island and climbed up multiple flights of stairs for one the restaurants. St.Thomas is filled with a lot of limestone/ cobblestone and undeveloped pavement so it would be best if those that aren’t as agile to sit this one out! Overall it was a great experience and will recommend to anyone that comes and visits St. Thomas
10/10 experience, great food, great vibes
Fajrr was an amazing guide as she took us around to wonderful food spots that we will definitely be visiting again! My favorite was E's Garden teahouse! This food tour is a must for a trip here!
Sabrina was absolutely amazing. She was funny and engaging and made the tour fun. I'd definitely do this again! Sidenote, the portions were perfect for tasting plates. I was full before our last stop.
Great walking and talking food tour to learn about local food and history. Everything was delicious and our host was funny and knowledgeable.
Definitely wear sneakers, comfy sandals, anything flat. Lots of walking, stairs (no elevators or ramps, and streets with no crosswalks. Steve was a great guide! Very personable. Loved that we got small portions of each dish since I ate a late breakfast. Glad we got a taste of restaurants that we wouldn’t have tried other wise. During the food and drink tour, you will get a bit of the islands’ history, and the last stop is on Main Street so if you’d like to go shopping afterwards, you’re already there! And it will be easy to catch a taxi if needed.
Really enjoyed the walking tour and Sabrina was a very good guide. Loved all the places she took us and even went back to The Lost Turtle and Virgilios later. Bring some tip money because its nice to help these owners out.
My family and I truly enjoyed our tour with DeAndre! We learned a lot about the history of St. Thomas and the Virgin Islands, and we got to enjoy some great food and drinks along the way. We even got to make our own Painkillers. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to learn more about St. Thomas and get to experience the local flavors of the island.
Noah was great and the food was amazing. We loved hearing about the history of St Thomas and sampling the variety of food. Noah was great and made sure everyone was well cared for and had a great time.
We took with tour with Sabrina for a morning of food and drinks and some history! We had our 4 kids with us and we all picked up on some history facts and we all tried some new foods! We had conch fritters, chicken curry, plantains, bananas foster, salt fish salad, rum punch, and got to make our own painkillers! We also got to taste test some local rums which was cool too! Sabrina was a joy and was a great tour guide!
This food tour was very educational, informative and personal. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable of the island and made sure we had great food, drink & a fun experience! We walked through Charlotte Amalie and seen a lot of history, shops & eatery!
A good walking tour that was timed appropriately for people on a cruise ship. Very knowledgeable guide and friendly and respectful. I wish she could've spoken with a louder tone to our group as it was difficult to hear much of what she shared. One stop, where we tried a local plate of chicken and rice, was a bit "weak" as the chicken piece was very small and mostly just a bone covered with a tasty curry sauce. Otherwise, I would recommend this excursion to others as it was a positive experience.
Fiyah was an excellent guide! This is our second time doing this experience and I will book every time we come! It is a great way to hear history and visit some less traveled local spots. We often find restaurants we want to return to on our visit
Noah did an outstanding job Food was yummy!
A wonderful walk through historic Charlotte Amalie. Fawzia (sp?) was an absolute delight, full of passion and made us fall in love with St. Thomas even more. E's tea shop is a must stop for anyone visiting!
On June 2nd of 2026 booked a Flavors of St Thomas small food tour. Our tour guide was a young lady named Fajai. She was amazing. We were a small group of 8 people. She was very smart and new her history. But she also told stories that were funny and she made us all feel connected. The food was awesome. We laughed and talked with people in our group and became friends. We booked our tour with Adventure of tge Seas. I would definitely recommend this tour to my friends.
Sabrina was very knowledgeable and energetic. She took us to places we would not find on our own and we tried food we would not on our own. The food and drinks were good and the history tour was very interesting! We would definitely recommend this food /drinks/ history tour !
Sabrina was amazing and very informative. She made the tour fun!!!!
We were able to sample a little bit of everything from six different stops! We feel like we really have a flavor for the island food !
This was a terrific tour. We saw five local restaurants, each serving a couple of different local foods and drinks. Each place had its onw signature dish, it was a great way to see some local fare. The guide was terrific, and enthusiastic.
I had such a great experience on the Flavors of St. Thomas Walking Food Tour! It was the perfect mix of food, culture, and history. Each stop gave us a chance to try something authentic, from local Caribbean dishes to sweet treats. And everything was so full of flavor. What really stood out was how knowledgeable and engaging the guide was. He didn’t just walk us from place to place—he shared stories about the island, its people, and the history behind the food & establishments, which made the whole experience feel much more meaningful. The pace was comfortable, and the portions were just right—I left full but not overly stuffed. It was a great way to explore parts of St. Thomas I wouldn’t have found on your own.
We ate well, learned some neat things about St. Thomas, and got in quite a few steps. You learn how to make a mixed drink, sample some rum, and eat other local foods. You will love the two or so hours of this tour and remember to eat well!
The tour was filled with history and samples of great food, and a few adult beverages. It was a wonderful wag to see parts of the city that we would have not seen. Lisa, our tour guide was very entertaining.
Fun, low-key, local tour. Great connection to the downtown business owners plus local eats, and make your own rum punch!
Sabrina was an amazing tour guide. She taught us a lot about the history of st. Thomas. The food was delicious and flavorful.
Sabrina was an excellent guide. She had a lot of knowledge of the area. She did go into some history and local traditions but it was a nice balance. The food and libations were a very nice mix.
Fire, Fire! Actually, the incredible guide was Fiyah, and she offered such great history about St. Thomas. I learned a lot. We started at Fort Christian, and Fiyah pointed to the lookout towers that kept watch when hoodlings would be approaching the island. Blackbeard had a home on St. Thomas and the pirates helped keep the peace. We saw the largest church on the island, and she also pointed out the oldest synagogue in the western hemisphere. This was a culinary experience and we started with fishcakes. We also had a wonderful chocolate bushwhackers rum drink that was yummy and accompanied by a delicious salmon ball. Next was a rum punch that we made ourselves. The highlight was dessert, of course. We had a sort of bananas Foster, prepared flambe at a very nice upscale restaurant. The tour was topped off at a quick rum tasting. This was a totally enjoyable tour.
Our tour guide Fiyah was awesome and filled with knowledge of the island and the historic district!! The history is really what makes the tour! The food and drinks were very island based and delicious. Highly recommended!!
We met up at Fort Christian downtown and Sabrina told us the history of the Fort as well as the surrounding area as we walked. Very interesting! Our first stop was at E’s Garden Tea House and Things which was nice and cool inside. We enjoyed hibiscus and lemongrass tea. The food served was a salt cod quiche with a little side salad. The quiche was delicious! We went on to sample great drinks and food in various places: salmon ball (similar to a croquette), a wonderful drink I can’t remember the name of (!) at the Sugarcane Grille; chicken curry, rice/beans, fried plantains at Tuck’s; make your own rum and pineapple juice drink at Drakes; bananas flambé at Virgilio’s. Everything was delicious! My favorites were the salt cod quiche and the bananas flambé. Everyplace we went to was either air conditioned, or had a nice breeze. Sabrina was a great guide and we enjoyed our day.
Michele was an absolutely delightful guide. She was very knowledgeable and made the history of St. Thomas exceptionally interesting. The first stop for a coconut chocolate drink was a little disappointing, the second stop for a salted cod. Fish salad was also disappointing, but the next three stops for curry and chicken fritters and bananas pasta were excellent.
So much fun! Our guide Fiyah (?) kept us laughing with her island insights. Loved the out of the way places we went to. Food was fantastic especially the saltfish quiche and the curried chicken . I'm not a drinker so accommodations were made for me to have non alcoholic drinks.
A wonderful food tour! Our guide, Sabrina, was very friendly and knowledgeable. Good sampling of local cuisine and beverages and history of St. Thomas. Quite reasonably priced and just about the right length considering the amount of walking involved. Highly recommended to all!
Wonderful way to see St. Thomas on a local level. We had a wonderful time.
So much fun learning about the history and culture of Charlotte Amalie with Fajarr! Beautiful views, the food and drinks were wonderful! Thank you!!
