Discover Scuba Diving With No Certification In St Thomas

Aqua Marine Dive Center is an awesome group to do your first or introductory dive with, Carey was very professional and informative. Carey is an amazing dive instructor and underwater guide! , I will always book all of my dives with Carey when I visit St Thomas. Dillon is energetic and explains everything very well, Dillon is an experienced diver/instructor and a great underwater guide. Dave the boat Captain does a great job with boat safety, keeping everything flowing and operates the boat like the Pro he is ! The Equipment is clean and very well maintained, by a knowledgeable crew that ensures all parts of your day are safe and fun. Overall I had a great time and an amazing first dive experience thanks to Carey and the whole boat crew!!! If you want to dive , Aqua Marine should always be your first choice to fill your dive needs.

Steph, David, Tommy, Charlotte and Abby were and amazing crew. They were very thorough in their explanations of safety and how to use equipment. David was very patient when going through steps in the skills test, as I was a first time diver. When I moved on to snorkeling after diving, Steph was great in pointing out where all the various marine life was. She kept checking to make sure I was ok. Terry help me get back in the boat. It was a great experience for someone who had not really done this before.

Getting the introduction and then going on the dive with some of the best instructors: Abby, Steph, and Dylan. They showed us around the water and we saw plenty of fish and sharks and a sea turtle.

The crew were amazing and Abby our instructor was so helpful and kind. Though the sea life wasn’t around for first spot, it showed up for the 2nd. Good times!

Do not be anxious as the crew is very helpful and full of knowledge and experience. Dhillon and Stephanie were awesome as well as the Captain. Brandon is very nice too

We had the best time! The instructors (Dylan, David, and Captain Tommy) are amazing! They are informative, hilarious and helpful! We felt safe and well taken care of! I’m a certified diver but this was my husbands first time diving and after the first dive he said “how do I become certified” highly recommend, you will not regret it!

A big thank you to David and Dylan for their expertise and patience during our dive. We had a great time, and everyone in our group was impressed by their professionalism while still keeping the experience fun and relaxed. This was my third dive experience, and our group ranged from a first-time diver to a certified diver. They did an excellent job accommodating everyone, and the underwater topography was terrific. I would highly recommend Aqua Marine Dive Center for divers of any skill level and would have no hesitation bringing a first-time diver along with the group.

Great time diving. Did the learn to dive intro class with my 3 kids. Instructors (Dylan!!) made it very easy to pick up the skills and have a great time. Great dive spots too.. everyone wants to know and we can do it again. Only recommendation is to make the upfront paperwork needs more clear. If you’re on any prescription medication or have any abnormal medical at all, you’ll have to get medical clearance before you ever come down to the island. Make sure to take care of it.

The instructors were so nice and patient especially Abby, she walked me through the steps and made me feel very comfortable as a beginner. She definitely deserves a raise she’s amazing!!

Although my husband and I only went along as passengers, two of our family went for a beginner scuba dive and two others did the snorkeling adventure. ALL were very satisfied with the whole experience. Our guides were impressive and we all had a most enjoyable day. Shout out to Capt. Tommy, Dylan & Abby for a super wonderful day. We would highly recommend this dive/snorkel adventure in St. Thomas. Safety was first and foremost.

Vacationing with 5 people, 2 of whom are certified. This was a great way for all of us to be together. I loved that we were actually were able to dive independently. The highlight of our vacation.

10/10! This was easily the highlight of our week in St. John - yes, we traveled from there to St. Thomas for this experience. To give you an idea, we had done BVI - Virgin Gorda (beautiful!), kayak/snorkel to Honeymoon, as well as snorkeling at Trunk, Cinnamon and other bays in St. John and BVI. It was the 3 of us - me, my wife and college-aged son - and a solo participant. We had no prior experience with scuba diving (lots of snorkeling). Our captain was Tommy - a person of few words, great confidence, and very friendly (not grumpy as the website would have you believe). He ensured everything was good to go and helped tremendously with the gear and getting into and out of the water (those tanks are heavy!). Steph was our instructor and guide. Amazing!! She was very patient with us, taking the time to explain everything, answer questions, and demonstrating everything you need to know to safely do this excursion. Once we were at the site, we suited up and got in the water. She then had us practice the essentials and, when ready, took us below one by one to again demonstrate each essential skill, then had us do it. Very good instructor and, again, really took the time to ensure we were comfortable with each skill before proceeding. Once complete, we went on our first dive. Took it slow, ensuring everyone was together, comfortable, safe and okay. She seemed to always have one eye on us and one eye out for aquatic wildlife. She pointed out numerous fish, an octopus and even a nurse shark - sharp eyes!. After a bit, we surfaced and went to the next site. There, we had a choice to either do another dive (at a small additional cost- $50/person) or snorkel at the ledges. Two of us did the additional dive and one snorkeled (who saw a hawksbill thanks to Tommy). The solo participant also did another dive. Again, her patience and expertise ensured that everyone had a wonderful and safe excursion. We saw lots of different fish, beautiful coral, an eel, and another (and bigger) nurse shark. I really can't say enough about how much Steph made this excursion memorable. Her knowledge and enthusiasm really showed through. Because of her and this experience, we are now looking into obtaining our open water certification. After the 2nd dive, Tommy was waiting for us with some nice rum punches - tasted great following being in the salt water. The ride back was a nice 20-25 minute ride where we reveled in all the amazing things we had seen. Truly amazing - friendly, professional, knowledgeable, enthusiastic. They want to make sure everyone has a great and safe experience. Book now, seriously, you won't regret it!

I had my first ever scuba diving experience in St. Thomas with Aqua Marine Dive Center, and it was truly unforgettable. As a beginner, I was a little nervous going in, but Louis, the main instructor, was incredible. He was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and calm throughout the entire experience. At one point, I started to feel overwhelmed underwater, but he helped me regain control, calmly guided me through it, and even got me comfortable enough to continue the dive which meant a lot to me. Jess was also fantastic and kept a close eye on me the whole time, making sure I felt safe and supported. You could tell the team genuinely cares about their divers. Captain Dave rounded out the experience perfectly he was very friendly and made the whole trip feel relaxed and enjoyable from start to finish. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and I’m so glad I did it. I would absolutely go again and highly recommend Aqua Marine Dive Center to anyone, especially first time divers.

AMAZING experience for us beginners! The crew Dylan, Zach and Steph were outstanding. It really went above our expectations. Dylan, who should be an elementary school teacher too ;) , was phenomenal. He made the most memorable scuba day for us. We saw a sunken ship and stingray, lobster, turtles, eel and a baby drum fish along with other fish and coral. The rum punch at the end of the trip was a fun addition. Thank you to Dylan and crew!

We had a wonderful time. Family of 4. Two of us snorkeled and 2 did diving. Our guides Ben, Lewis and Dylan were so great. Captain Dave was the best. We saw squid, fish, lobster and turtles. It was a small group which made it an incredible day. Highly recommend this tour.

Had an incredible day learning to dive. Dylan was an awesome teacher and made my first dive an easy. This is a MUST do while you're on the island. We went to 2 sights and saw tons of fish, rays, octopus... Definitely recommend.

I could not recommend this experience enough for anyone who has been interested in seeing ocean life from a new point of view. Zach, Dylan, Kelly, and Captain Steph were absolutely incredible and they made us feel safe, taken care for, and were absolutely hysterical to share the journey with. It was our first time scuba diving and we felt so safe and informed, and it was unreal seeing all the ocean life from the sea floor. It felt like we were in an aquarium!!! We got so close to a sea turtle, saw some huge spiny lobsters, a couple of eel, a huge pufferfish, spiny crab, and an insane variety of fish and coral the entire way. We will never forget this experience and will be coming back for more when we come back to St. Thomas!!!

Lewis, Tommy, and Mich at Aqua Marine Dive Center St. Thomas were fun, professional and knowledgeable. My daughter did her first open water discovery dive and Lewis was great with her. He was patient, encouraging and made it easy for her to understand. She had fun and more importantly wants to continue on and get certified. I would definitely recommend the team at Aqua Marine Dive Center St. Thomas if you’re looking for an experienced diving/snorkeling experience.

This was our first time scuba diving. We did the discover diving with David. This staff is amazing 10/10. They offer snacks, drinks and play music while having the option to enjoy the beautiful views up on bow of the boat to be in the sun. Very helpful and patient with everyone. Highly recommend!!

I'm writing another review because I DID MY DISCOVER DIVE YAY!!! Lewis was my instructor and he was absolutely amazing. I was a little nervous but he did so freaking amazing. Hands down just amazing you will NOT regret diving or snorkeling with this company. All of their staff is amazing. Lewis was so amazing, so patient, so nice, really let me see all the things possible. Thank you Aqua Marina Dive Center and Lewis for making it such an amazing dive. Here for a little longer, so we are going back before we leave.

If you've never dove before, you have no idea what all you're missing and this is the place to do it! Louis and the crew (sorry I forgot all the names) are fantastic and you won't be disappointed!

We had such a great experience on the boat and in the water! The crew was so fun and we had so much fun with all of the other passengers. Dylan and Zach were awesome guides for us first-timers and made sure we were comfortable and safe diving. Captain David was THE BEST!! Overall it was just an amazing experience and we highly recommend it! If you can, definitely bring an underwater camera!

Outstanding experience! Highly recommended. Boat, equipment and dive team were amazing. Discover scuba package was run perfectly, our diver Dylan was fantastic, took care to make sure everyone was comfortable in the water and maximized our time in the water. Steph took spectacular photos and video of our family. The boat had multiple groups aboard (snorkel, discover scuba and certified scuba) they made sure every group spent as much time in the water as possible. Capt Tom had a great plan for 2 dive locations which was awesome. They took us to great areas where there was a ton of sea life to view. If you are going to St. Thomas book with this team, you will not be disappointed!

My daughter and I took the Discover Scuba Diving trip and it was amazing! Ben, Zach, Halle and Captain Tommy were fantastic. Neither of us had ever been scuba diving before, and the crew was extremely professional and made sure they took the time to teach us and make sure we had learned everything necessary to stay safe and have a great time!

Okay, first review on Trip Advisor, though I use the platform a lot. I typically only write reviews when I have serious issues with an establishment, that isn’t the case today and I’m copy/pasting this review everywhere. If you are looking to dive or do a discover scuba course, this is the spot. Went out with Capt Tommy, Ben, and Lewis. Lewis was our dive instructor, Capt. Tommy drove the boat and Ben was working a certification with another group. All three were absolutely phenomenal. I cannot express just how patient Lewis was with the members of my group. He took his time to make sure we understood everything, didn’t make us feel rushed, and didn’t have even a hint of frustration while he worked with us. Seriously, I don’t know how much Lewis is getting paid, but pay him more. After going through the skills, we had a fantastic time under water, even doing the additional dive after the intro. The crew can’t count for the sea life, but they did a great job of looking out for different sea life and communicating what they saw to our group as well as between Ben and Lewis to make sure everyone had a great time and got to see all the crittters. The guys were all extremely knowledgeable on the area, the different islands, and dive spots. They even gave us a few local recommendations that panned out spectacularly. I cannot recommend these guys highly enough. Definitely worth every dime and then some.

Super friendly instructors, great boat and top notch equipment made for a perfect day! Highly recommend this for anyone who would like to try scuba diving! We did a private half day charter- some snorkeled, some did discover scuba and others did open water scuba. It was fantastic!

My husband and I booked the discovery scuba diving session with Aqua Marine Dive Center. The boat was clean and the team was very professional. Lewis was our scuba guide for the afternoon. He was very informative and clear in his instructions. We had no problems learning the basics to complete the dive. An d he was such a nice guy which was a huge bonus. We had tons of fun. I would absolutely go again and dive with Lewis and the team at Aqua Marine!

This is one of the best experiences I've ever had. Everyone was exceptional. The crew with Abby as my instructor, Captain Mich and Zach as the guide for the certified divers made this a perfect diving experience for me. I will be back.

We booked the Discovery Dive and Snorkel trip, and it exceeded all expectations. You don’t have to dive to enjoy it—snorkeling alone is worth the trip. We visited two incredible sites and had at least an hour at each, giving us plenty of time to explore. The crew—Steph, Dave, and Abby—were outstanding. Abby guided us through the dive portion with patience and skill. She’s a phenomenal teacher who made the experience feel safe and exciting. The snorkeling was world-class. We’ve done excursions throughout the Caribbean and Mexico, and this was hands down the best. The small group size made it feel intimate and relaxed, and the marine life was stunning—turtles, rays, countless fish species, and more. If you’re considering this trip, don’t hesitate. It’s a must-do, and you won’t regret it! -

This experience was literally a dream come true! Zach was our guide and instructor and he was extremely patient and helpful with our group. The quick training was easy to follow. After completing the training, I went on 2 dives on coral reefs. I saw more than I could ever imagine. It was so beautiful and amazing to be able to explore the world below. I would 200% recommend this!

We went diving with Kyle and he was very instructive and patient. The diving was exhilarating and Kyle made sure it was safe throughout.

Capt. Dave kept the boat pumping, and drove us to the sites and Zack was a serious fish guide, but our man Kyle was a true dive MASTER. He literally kept cool under water and pressure. He was smooth and calm. Capt Dave helped me through a little panic attack and I was then able to dive successfully! It was a championship tag team and we haven't stopped bragging about our amazing experience. Never thought I'd be a (non certified) diver, but here I am. My family of 4 dove 2 locations, about 30-40 min each. My son now wants to get certified and I'm not feeling like I'm gonna die when bubbles go by my face. I saw tons of fish, a barracuda, ray, and the pride of accomplishment in my 14 & 15yo kids' faces. Can't put a price on that kind of memory.

Had an amazing day with our boat captain, David, and our dive master, Zach. Only our daughter’s second open water dive & we got to experience an amazing dive spot, Cow. Zach was patient with our new divers and pointed out all the gorgeous sea life. Highly recommend!
