Archaeological research has proven the existence of early Caribbean Indian cultures on Hassel Island. One site has been identified on the southeastern shore, as well as the discovery of a Zemi artifact on the shoreline. This site is characteristic of the Saladoid culture which originated in the Orinoco River Basin in what is now Venezuela. These Indians began migrating northward in approximately 500BCE.

That you must get on jet ski from deep water and must be strong enough to pull self up but one jet ski has a ladder so the one getting on that one can first give boost push to the rider without ladder
It was awesome! Sonny was our tour guide! Definitely recommend! Pay attention to your booking if you are paying for one or 2 jet skis. I was unfortunately unable to get a refund for my reservation since my husband and I used one jet ski. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars. And we had to swim out to the jet skis which I think was a test!
The jet ski instructor was very patient with me and with it being my very first time. He never made me feel like i was messing up and kept reassuring me. Even tho i felt like i holding the group. He kept giving me tips on operating the jet ski better and every time i used his tips i became more and more comfortable. The ride was beautiful nonetheless.

Great experience. Saw a lot of the island and Water Island and was great with no cruise ships docked so was able to go everywhere. One of the people who tried to go wasn’t qualified to but demanded to go and thankfully the guide did remove them as it wouldn’t have been safe for the tour and other participants. He was a great guide
An absolute must-do bucket list experience!! Sunny was a great guide and you get a lovely tour around the island, including cruise ship ports, gorgeous beaches, and a floating taco bar. We saw plenty of sea turtles so keep your eyes peeled!
If you’re thinking about booking a jet ski tour, do it! Sonny was an amazing guide and made the entire experience so much fun. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone felt comfortable while still keeping things exciting. Our kids had an absolute blast, and honestly, so did the adults! The scenery was beautiful, the ride was unforgettable, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Fair warning: thanks to Sonny, we’re now shopping for jet skis! We would 100% book with him again.
They canceled my reservation with no explanation, so I wasted money getting a taxi to drop me off there and I got my time wasted. They could have at least gave me a courtesy call a day prior so I didn’t have to waste my time and money on a taxi trying to get there.
Beware … you have to swim out to get on the jet skis. That information was not prominently shown on the description and as a senior couple, we were unable to do that. NO REFUND FROM VIATOR.

This was my first time riding a jet ski and it is definitely an adrenaline rush and very fun activity. Our tour guide Sonny was awesome and made the experience so much fun.
We had SO much fun doing the jet skis. Our guide was so kind and helpful. My partner and I have never been jet skiing before. The scenery is beautiful and you get to see so much in an hour while also learning about the areas. It was a great time and definitely recommend!

There’s another jet ski place on emerald beach. Where the jet skis aren’t sinking! I felt so uncomfortable the tour guide thought I was just playing till the new hire took me back to the docks and seen that the back on the jet ski was lower then the others.
Guide was super cool despite us being beginners and the water being a bit rough that day. Would recommend to anyone wanting to go!

First, we had an amazing time on this tour. It started out a little concerning because we found out upon arriving that we booked it for the following day, and we were only there for one day on a cruise stop. Thankfully and appreciatively, the staff honored our booking and took us out that day as a very small group. Sonny was our guide and he took us around the beautiful Charlotte Amalie bay area and islands. The weather was a bit fickle, with passing rain showers. If the rain was too much, our guide had us stop for a bit to wait it out, allowing us to still enjoy a great experience. We made several brief stops where Sonny explained nearby sights and landmarks, giving us some local knowledge. We even saw some green sea turtles poking their heads out of the water! On the way back to Frenchman's Reef, we got to ride right beside our docked cruise ship (and others), getting an up-close look from the water. This tour is best for those who are in decent physical shape, with the ability to climb down a ladder into the water and swim (with a life vest) to your jet ski which is about 50 feet from the dock. You also need to be able to climb up onto the jet ski from the water and climb up to the dock when you return. Overall, we were so pleased with the friendly, accommodating staff and Sonny's expertise as our guide. It was worth every penny and one of the memorable highlights of our vacation!

Extremely rude service from their management and anyone you try to contact. I was given incorrect information about the JetSki experience at the Westin Bell Services desk, and these people are blaming ME for not knowing better. They expected ME as a CUSTOMER to know that they are a third party apparently not affiliated with the Westin (genuinely tell me why the f I would be responsible for knowing your corporate chain or management???) and were so rude to us. I get it, you guys send out confirmation emails, but it is not that crazy of a notion that guests paying for a gd expensive resort were expecting to get all the information about the booking before we had to commit to pay for it. And I get that it’s not Dockside’s fault that I didn’t have that information, it’s on the Westin, but then you have absolutely no right trying to school me on the phone and making it seem like my family is responsible for this. What did we do? Trust your hospitality??? God forbid we trust the hospitality industry on an island that RUNS on tourism. Extremely disappointing behavior, genuinely so rude and unprofessional. Westin Bell Services is charging us for this jet ski tour on our room, not even through dockside. They NEVER mentioned it was a TOUR and I think I have every right to be pissed that I’m being held responsible for that.

My daughter and I had a blast! It was just the two of us plus our guide, who was very fun and gave a great tour. We were very lucky with perfect weather!
We paid online for the reservations, and when we went to the dock to check in, the worker asked us if we could swim. We said no and she told us she would have to cancel our reservation and refund us money. I expressed how there should be a prompt on the website asking people if they know how to swim and if you answer no, you should not be able to move forward to make a payment. The worker disagree with me and stated there is a prompt on the website. I informed her if there was a prompt asking if I could swim, I would’ve said no and I would have not made it to the payment page. I think the website not having a prompt wasted my time and money. Now I have to wait 5 to 7 business days for a refund all because I was allowed online to book a reservation that had a strict requirement to know how to swim.

He led us on an extraordinary tour, showcasing stunning coastal views and hidden coves, all while ensuring we felt safe and confident. His enthusiasm for the sport was infectious, and he shared valuable tips, making our experience even more enjoyable. We couldn't have asked for a better introduction to jet skiing!

Awesome time and very knowledgeable staff! There were four of us who went. The staff took time out to go over everything and make sure we were ready to go. Jet skis were fast, and we saw a sea turtle and some cool beaches. Would do again!
Devin was awesome ! Highly recommended as an excursion for St.Thomas. The sea turtles came up to the jet ski to get awesome pics we were able to see planes take off from the water. One of the best Jet ski tours I’ve been on !
Do not bother if you are not avid jet skiers. The guide was an absolute jerk to my son and nephew (19 & 20 year olds). he gave zero instructions other than his hand signals for kill the engine and slow down and then was the jerk of the century when they knew nothing more. Neither of them have ever driven a jet skiers before. They were only on the water for 30 minutes or less and we paid for an hour. Find something else to do with your time and don’t waste your hard earned money on this place. We will be back to St. Thomas, will we NOT be back to this excursion.
When we got there they said experienced drivers only u can only follow them not ride beside . Grails him made my waves higher which is hard to follow .
If you have little to no experience with jet skiing, this is definitely not the place to start. The guide was completely apathetic to the needs of his clients. All he would say was “you have to go fast” and “if you can’t keep up, I’ll have to take you back”. I ended up catapulting into the ocean and asking to go back after about 15 minutes. I have been snowmobiling, kayaking, hiking, snorkeling, bicycling and lots of other activities, and I was so excited about jet skiing. This was quite a disappointment.
The Bad: My partner and I did the jet ski tour from the Westin at Frenchman's Reef with Kemio and had an awful time. This young man is knowledgeable with jet skis and ocean safety, but is not a people person and should not be working with tourists. He is not friendly, approachable, or engaging. In fact, he was all business and at times came off as threatening, stating if we could not swim 40 feet to the jet skis we wouldn't be able to go or if he saw us "nose diving," he'd bring us back. Yes, this is important information, but my goodness, why verbalize it in such a threatening way? I guess we looked like were going to make trouble for him so he felt the need to nip our rule-breaking in the bud? Bizarre. Anyway, he did not introduce himself or ask our names, and at no point during the tour did he offer to take photos. Isn't that Tour Guide 101? There were two idling opportunities he could've stepped up his guide game but instead he chose to be on his phone. Halfway through the tour he got angry with me, standing on his jet ski pointing and yelling and carrying on; I could not hear him over the jet ski motor since he was far away, but I can assume he was upset that I was lagging behind him and my partner. He cut our tour short by 15 minutes because the rough seas prevented us from going to the last spot. Why not spend those 15 minutes in a calmer area or an area we could take photos? Because he didn't want to be there and wanted to end the tour early. When we prepared to dock the jet skis, he became visibly annoyed because we couldn't hear his commands to idle at a particular red buoy — there are two and it's impossible to hear him from so far away or see his waving arms with the sun behind him. I laughed when he asked for a tip. The entire experience was awful and this is likely not an isolated incident, so if you book during the week, you stand a good chance of experiencing the same unpleasant tour. The Good: Charisma (I'm probably misspelling that!), the assistant manager, is wonderful — wish she could've been our guide! She helped us with a payment change, was quick to respond to my tour feedback, and offered acceptable resolution. Tip: If you're staying at the Westin, you can charge this excursion to your room.
You have to swim about 40 feet to the jet skis but besides that the tour was amazing and our tour guide was great. Definitely worth it
This was my second time with Dockside Jetski at Frenchman’s Reef, and both times have been amazing! The staff is friendly and professional, the jetskis run great, and the views of the island and marine life are absolutely amazing. A perfect mix of thrill and tropical beauty—highly recommended!
Great time! Devon was amazing and my wife, son, and I had an awesome time! The jet skis are in great condition, the route was really fun, and we all had a great time. Would absolutely do it again!
My daughters and I had a great time on the tour. Our guide took us on a big loop around the islands and through the bay. We stopped at Water Island and idled over sea turtles and even saw a ray gliding under us! He was knowledgeable about the area and the history and, importantly, safety minded about the water and weather conditions (we had to postpone our original trip due to high winds). He instructed us on how to best make it over the choppy seas and everyone felt comfortable and had a great time.

Awesome!!! First time on jet ski. Kudos to Devin, his instructions were on point. This is one of those moments the family will remember. This was an hour trip but you will want more.I wish I had my GoPro ! By the way they have somewhere to secure belongings, if you wear glasses you can wear them with the cord so you won't lose them.
This was a great tour! Amazing views, and super fun! The tour guides were very knowledgeable and very helpful! They gave a great brief beforehand on what to expect and how to operate the jet skis, which was perfect for a beginner like me.
