St. John Jost Van Dyke & Soggy Dollar Snorkel Sail With Breakfast - Westin

Booked for 11/30/26. They called and forced us to move to the only other da we could possibly go. Checked the forecast for the new day - all clouds and high chance of rain. No fun snorkeling under clouds and rain. The day we originally booked was perfect. They would nog give a reason for cancellation.

Jolene and her team were amazing! Took a day trip with my wife and had a blast enjoying the great vibes and beaches of the Caribbean. The reason for my review includes highlighting the awesome customer service provided by Jolene and her two staff members. They were kind, helpful and did a great job to set the tone for an amazing vacation day! Thank you so much team! We were on the 8 hour snorkeling tour, Jost Van Dyke day trip on the Lady Lyndsey.

On time pickup. Captain Jolene was friendly/ outgoing and made us feel welcome. About 30 people onboard. If you want a good seat up where there chairs/pillows get in the first half of the line. We brought up the rear so we’re in the back. Smooth sail to Jost. Ship was able to get very close to beach so much better than our last trip here. Crew was friendly and drinks flowed freely after snorkeling. Perfect amount of time in White Bay to relax with food and drink and unwind. Love the Soggy Dollar. Would highly recommend and will be back.

Fun day from start to finish. The boat was beautiful and the crew was amazing! Food and drinks were great and plentiful. Snorkel equipment and towels provided. The crew was able to beach the boat so we didn’t even have to get soggy dollars! Would highly recommend

Great snorkeling at Scott’s beach. Spent the rest of the day at white bay beach. Great crew, very friendly. Drinks after snorkeling and on the way back to the Westin.

A wonderful day on the water!! Bring your sunscreen and a hat and get ready for an incredible time. I appreciated that we had ample time at the snorkel location which was wonderful. All the equipment is in good working order and the team on the boat was professional and fun. I went on this activity with my 14 year old and she had a good time even though she was the only kid on board. Soggy dollar was so great...but also go a few doors down...there's a little shop...and there are baby goats!

We had two amazing trips with Cruz Bay. The first was snorkeling and Jost Van Dyke, and the second was snorkeling at Tecterra and lunch at Lime Out. The crew of both boats were incredible. The price was very reasonable and we were happy we chose this company rather than paying a lot more for a private boat. Highly recommend!

We snorkeled for about an hour and then spent a few hours on Jost Van Dyke for fun and Lunch…. There are a handful of beach restaurants to choose from.

I did this tour today and it was a great experience with an excellent crew & captain (Skyler, Riley, and Capt Freeman). Everything was as promised, from the check in (boarded by 8am and were out to sea within 10 minutes) to the continental breakfast (egg bites, fruit, and a few pastries), to the itinerary (on schedule and not rushed, but did not feel like any wasted time). We cruised for a bit, did some snorkeling at Lovango (lots of fish, stingray, and nurse shark spotted), and then headed to Jost. Bar was open, and the group was chatty with one another which made for a fun time for the sail. Once we arrived at White Bay, most enjoyed lunch and drinks on the beach (Hendo's food was great), others lounged in the rentable chaise chairs, others just chilled in the ocean (Soggy Dollar painkiller in hand) amongst the other yachts and mega-catamarans. We then boarded the boat for our trip back home (and staff was incredible with hoisting the sail and giving some time cruising with just the wind). Bar was open again, and both young and old had a great time relaxing and chatting. We had a great diverse group (I think this tour is better suited for adults for the sake of everyone on board) but chill, non-fussy kids would enjoy too. Well worth the price for the service provided & convenient Westin pickup (you can also catch a shuttle from downtown Cruz Bay area if you aren't staying at the hotel). These guys work hard, don't forget to tip generously.

Wow! What an amazing experience! Captain Ed and Sierra treated us like family! From the hospitality, beautiful scenery, snorkeling and.hot drop at the Soggy Dollar, our sail was second to none! Beautiful day on the water. Crew was super friendly and informative. The boat has tons if space to enjoy the ride and lounge if you prefer.

We had a great day on the water. The crew working were friendly and helpful. Wish we got to see more fish or turtles when we stopped to snorkel. Soggy dollar was fun but we spent most of the time allotted on JVD waiting to eat at restaurant so maybe pack snacks. Because of the wait for food, there wasn’t much time to swim and relax. Customs was a breeze.

The captain and crew were fun and attentive. We had lots of space and didn’t feel crowded at any time. I would definitely recommend them if you want a day on the water that includes a good snorkel stop and a couple hours on the sandy beach by Soggy Dollar.

Great trip to take with your family, the crew is very friendly . They stayed efficient with our day, we got an awesome snorkel spot, and even got to let the sails out. We enjoyed our time visiting the BVI, and the soggy dollar.

Nothing better than a day on a boat. Nice snorkeling stop in the morning where we saw a lot of fish. White Bay is amazing…we had lunch at Henlo’s which was good then sat on the beach a bit and went in the water. The blue water is so gorgeous. All in all a great day.

This excursion was the perfect amount of activity and leisure. We snorkeled in the best area I have seen so far on St John. The time on the beach was just right and gave us time to eat, drink and bob in the gorgeous turquoise water. We got our best pictures here. The staff was very attentive and pleasant

We had a great excursion to Jost Van Dyke and soggy dollar! The snorkeling spot was fantastic, saw turtles and sting rays! Whole process was organized; the crew was great and lots of fun! Boat was comfortable, food was good, drinks were delicious!

In a word or two, worth it. Admittedly not an inexpensive day trip for a family, but it is well worth it. It’s pretty much a full day, and the captain and staff are fantastic. They are extremely welcoming and do everything possible to make your trip, fun, memorable, and safe. Don’t let the beach-bar(s) destination fool you either, this is an excellent trip for kids. They pack a lot into the trip, including the catamaran sail, which in itself is a blast, then we hit an out-of-the-way snorkeling beach, then +2 hours on JVD; enough to get lunch and a few drinks and hang out in the water. Then back on the boat for another sail back. Oh, and open bar on the boat all day long! If you are thinking about it, just do it, you won’t be disappointed.

We had a great day. Fun snorkeling in the morning; and Hendo's Hideout for lunch in Yost Van Dyke. (On the recommendation of Captain Brent.) The drinks were great - better than Soggy Dollar; and we enjoyed the fried grouper, coconut shrimp and tacos. The only disappointment for lunch was the Lobster Grilled Cheese. Then a relaxing day sitting on the beach. Riley was a first class bartender/waiter/host for the back of the boat. Particularly enjoyed the sailing back from Yost Van Dyke to St. John with the sails up and a nice breeze. The drinks on board were delicious. It was a very fun day, and highly recommend.

Amazing day with the crew from Cruz Bay Watersports. From check in to the sail over to Jost and sail back, everything went extremely well. Crew Riley, Eric and Captain Brent, were superb. Very professional, safe and fun. Would highly recommend.

Great boat and crew! They had everything we needed on board, and took us out to one of the best spots to snorkel! We then made our way over to Soggy Dollar with a very attentive staff making sure our libations were met. Our captain took us right up to the beach where we walked down the ladder right on to the sandy shore. I’d highly recommend this boat and crew, and look forward to coming back soon!

Awesome day on the water with an awesome crew , stopped at a private islands coral reef , then onto Jost Van Dyke - the bar opened as soon as snorkeling ended , learned some interesting historical facts about the Virgin Islands enroute . Then plenty of painkillers at the world famous Soggy Dollar Bar

This was a wonderful trip from beginning to end. Captain Brent accompanied by Eric and Alisha (sorry if spelt wrong) did a fine job even avoiding most of the rain around us. We started with a light breakfast as we left the Westin dock. Round to by Caneel bay for snorkeling. Saw 4 turtles and 3 ray’s including a spotted eagle! Then over to White bay for customs and onto JVD beach. Shopping and lunch at Hendos and a sail back. Truly enjoyed it. Thanks

After chartering a small boat for several years from St. John to explore BVI on our own, about 5 years ago we instead opted to take the Cruz Bay Watersports day sail to Jost Van Dyke. Located on the grounds of the Westin St. John, the day was a magnificent, delightful day from start to finish. The boat is a spacious dual-hulled catamaran, well-maintained, with a friendly and attentive crew who continually make the rounds to offer (included) alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to lounging guests. They readily mingle with guests to answer questions, and are 100% committed to guests having the best day possible. The day is basically simple, a morning 1 hour snorkel stop at a destination off st john or not far away. Then a long stop at Soggy Dollar bar, on a picture perfect beach, with good food, a stocked bar and reasonable prices. A busy gift shop offers a wide variety of tshirts, caps, and Soggy dollar mugs, flags, etc. Our 4 year old grandson snorkeled for the first time in these warm calm waters, saw his first sea turtle and reef reef, and the captain allowed him to steer the boat for a few minutes. Always the highlight of our St John trip, i cannot say enough great things about the crew and onland staff at Cruz Bay watersports. Thank you all.

We took the full day trip to Jost Van Dyke - British Virgin Islands from the Westin on St. John. The captain and crew were professional and attentive--safety first and keeping drinks full a close second! It's an early morning, but you are welcomed aboard with a light breakfast. We enjoyed wonderful snorkeling on the way out seeing a turtle and sting rays along with a variety of fish. You get plenty of time at Soggy Dollar to enjoy drinks, snacks/lunch and beach time. The only downside was that we had to sail back to St. John. They made customs a smooth process as well. A must do excursion is you are staying on St. John!

My family and I did both a private day charter and the discover Jost Van Dyke excursion on separate days during our recent trip to St. John. We were so impressed by Dontre, Eddie, and the rest of the team during our private day charter that we decided to come back a few days later for this second cruise. Cruz Bay Watersports is the real deal. The people are great, the experiences are great, the boats are clean and gorgeous, and the prices are totally reasonable. If you visit the VI and you don't book an excursion with these guys, you're really missing out. 10/10 would lime again.

Our family had absolutely the best day on July 3rd with Capt. Brent, Danny and Elijah. They are awesome! We snorkeled around St. John and sailed over to Jost for the day. Every detail from food to music to supplies was all perfection. Cruz Bay Watersports is a top-notch outfit. This was our 4th experience with them. Thanks so much!

This is our 4th time using Cruz Bay sports and the crew did not disappoint! The crew ( Capt Brent, Alexi and Dan) were super friendly and very helpful with whatever you need . TY for making our day even better! A few things to know: 1. Towels are provided no need to bring your own. 2. Breakfast is continental and was just enough to start your day. 3. Snorkeling is about 30mins into the trip, we went to Scott beach in St.John. The snorkeling was good. 4. Bar is open after snorkeling!! 5. Spend about 3 hrs at soggy dollar and then a beautiful ride back to St.John. 6. The crew takes care of everything for you at customs . 7. We found that it was well worth the extra $$ to not have any worries. I would recommend this trip and plan on taking it again in the future!! Thank You from the Gaulin Family!!

We enjoyed this trip. The crew was great. Snorkeling was great for part of our group not for others. We saw a turtles and Eagle Ray. The time in white bay was really nice. We are ate a Hendo’s which was great. They put the sails up in the way back which was great. Only negative would be that a few passengers became very intoxicated with the open bar. Never felt unsafe or concerned just didn’t really feel that part was family friendly. Would do it again.
