Very enjoyable! Our driver/tour guide was very good! Although, I believe it was overpriced. With what we paid person, the ferry should have been included. That said...it was definitely worth seeing!

First I want to say something about our driver Kenneth, he was amazing. I’m a history/culture person and I loved how each tour he explained everything to us. The island is beautiful and we will definitely be back.
Kenneth was great and knowledgeable. He was very informative of the different areas we went to. I would definitely recommend this tour of St John island. 10/10 stars!
What an amazing experience to learn about the island's culture and history. Our tour guide, Kenneth, was excellent, very professional, gracious, and hospitable, and showed us all around the island, exploring as well as providing us with the background history.
The tour is really nice. I enjoyed the ride through the national park with stops along the way to take photos. The tour guide Kenneth was knowledgeable and very helpful. We had 2 hours at Trunk Bay Beach and the water there was wonderful! I recommend this tour.
I came from St Thomas so I was really hoping to see more of the island. Kenneth did a great job of giving us history and details about the areas we were passing. The plantation spot was not as exciting as I was expecting. Trunk Bay was cool even with the rain but also felt rushed. You should separate cruise people from land tourists. He did give me the option to stay but the rain helped me make my decision to leave with the group. I also wish you guys had a partner in St. Thomas, that would include transportation from our hotel to red Hook rather than a taxi.
Disappointing end to what started as a good tour. Kenneth was knowledgeable and did a great job at the beginning of the tour. However, he was 40 minutes late picking me up from Trunk Bay with no heads up. Because of that delay, I had to rush to catch my ferry and was unable to get my 2 National Park stamps. The lack of punctuality ruined the experience.
We have used Viator for tours all Over the world from Malaysia to Chile and we have always been impressed by their service However this was the worst experience we ever had! We were picked up in an open air local taxi in 80 degree plus weather for a harrowing 40 minute drive to the Red Hook area from where the ferry departs. Instead of providing us with an air conditioned vehicle we were seated bench style in this awful taxi on the steep, winding, and poorly maintained roads of Saint Thomas. I couldn’t believe this was the vehicle Viator arranged! It was awful! Upon arrival on Saint John we were once again transported in another open air local taxi. Again NO AIR CONDITIONING! The only saving grace was the tour guide on Saint John. Kenneth was amazing and so knowledgeable. Really appreciated him! Great guy. It is definitely worth it to visit Saint John but I really hope Viator maintains their standards and arranges for better transportation. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with Viator. People with health conditions and the elderly should definitely not be doing this tour because the taxis are terrible!
Trunk Bay is beautiful and so is Maho Bay and all the other beaches we saw. The whole tour was great and Kenneth our tour guide was phenomenal!
This tour is a combination of history of St. John and as it relates to the other islands in USVI and BVSI, and a 2 hour drop off at Trunk Bay to snorkel, swim and just chill. We also stopped to see the Annabelle Plantation Ruins and a few other historical stops. It was very good. Lasted about 5 hours long including the 2 hours at the beach.
Kenneth provided our group of four with an amazing tour! Will definitely be back again, when on the island.
Our tour guide Kenneth was so awesome! There was some confusion with the group as we were added to a larger group who were under the impression they booked a private custom tour. It was just two of us and we’re pretty laid back so we told Kenneth we were fine with whatever we just wanted to see the sights and enjoy the beach. Kenneth was very professional and informative during the tour. We will definitely want to tour again with him!
We took an excursion from NCL Prima called "St John Beach Break" . We took the Ferry to St John then we took an open air taxi to Trunk Bay. (it was a little crazy because one guy didn't show up so people were left until a driver showed up) It was about a 20 minute drive with stops along the way to see the island. The we were dropped off at the entrance to the National park and just just tell you what time to be back. It was strange because there was no directions on how to rent chairs or to get to the beach so it took us some time to explore the area. We got to the beach and then there were not chair rentals so we asked other people and they said it was when you walked down but we went a different way. When you rent chairs they take your Drivers license until you return them which I get but they should inform you all this. We wasted a good hour trying to figure this out. The beach was gorgeous but I don't think there was enough time there. I am not sure how people had time to eat lunch etc. I think the excursion should be little longer. Then you take the taxi back to the ferry and it drops you off at the ship basically. We had hours left until departure so I think the excursion could be an hour or so longer to give more time to relax at the beach.
Great tour! The driver was very knowledgeable. Good value for the money.
Great trip. Lot of fun and imformation.
Kenneth was very informative and the scenery is breathtaking. More spots to stretch the legs would have been nice for someone with a bad knee but overall a nice overview of St. John.
We asked our tour guide if we could do the tour first and then spend our time at trunk bay after and he was super accommodating. The food at trunk bay was unbelievable
It was great, she (Shelley) picked us up near our hotel and got on a smooth journey to St John by ferry then the driver (Kenneth) for the excursion was right there. It all worked out very nicely ty.
Advised driver that was having difficulty getting off ship - phoned multiple times but only answered twice once after he had. Already departed. Made no attempt to return my call- very disappointing Eric Moody
In my booking, it says that drinks and food were included… that meant we could purchase them at the snack bar at trunk Bay… we left late due to late arrivals. We basically got a one hour tour, then dropped off at Trunk Bay for two hours on our own, then picked up and returned to Cruz Bay.
On time and pleasant. Beaches were beautiful. Minimal time at lookouts. Trunk beach was beautiful. No life guards or anyone to assist you with the snorkeling . Staff renting equipment were very nice. Bring your own towels since they are not available to rent.
Kenneth was awesome! Very knowledgeable and kept us informed and safe! He kept the tour interesting! Professional
Not much time at beach because our cruise ship docked at later time causing us to catch later ferry. There are cheaper ways to get to Trunk Bay if that is your end goal.
While the tour guide was very knowledgeable, the speaker in the vehicle was old and therefore his words were muffled and couldn’t be understood. I thought it would have been more of a tour but instead few stops and self-directed. Would have been similar to renting a taxi and being asked to be dropped off at Trunk Beach. It was advertised as a 5 hour tour but dropped back at the pier after 4 hours. As such…fairly costly.
This ended up being a small group tour of 7 total. Our driver met us at the cruise port promptly and got us to the ferry on time. Get your ferry tickets in advance, the tour company will send you the link and the time to book. We made it with 5 minutes to spare because of a slow truck in front of us, it's a bit of a drive. After the enjoyable ferry ride, our next driver, Kenneth, greeted us and gave us an informative island tour in his open air vehicle. Fun experience on the hilly roads, we enjoyed the beautiful viewpoints and learning about the Annaberg Sugarcane Plantation with its vile history told on many signboards. The highlight was swimming and snorkeling at beautiful, uncrowded Trunk Bay Beach.
From picking us up at our hotel to the return to our hotel was absolutely amazing 🤩. The drivers were very knowledgeable and shared so much interesting history of St Thomas and St John! I would do it again and again!
You need to let people know that although you stop they are very short stops he is very knowledgeable of the island but I felt that he just wanted to rush to get back to the starting point my main reason for going was to get my national park stamp which I had to get on my own
We had a great time with Kenneth he was very helpful. Took pictures of us.told us several stories about the Island.we would recommend Kenneth just has a great attitude and fun to be with.
The Tour picked us up at the resort and took us to the ferry boat where we were picked up in a tour bus on the other side. Trunk Bay was great for snorkeling and relaxing on the beach. Plus the tour took us around St John's Island. Worth the price.
This was an amazing experience. Both the driver who transported us to/from.our Hotel and tour guide was great. Kenneth-(tour guide) was extremely informative, patient and very knowledgeable about the history. We had a fabulous time. Make sure and include the Trunk Bay Beach on your tour, you will be so.happy that you did. Pictures can not express the beauty of this beach. This is a MUST DO tour if you are visiting St. THOMAS.
There were 10 of us crammed into an open air space. Didn’t really need to know that kids after the hurricane took the ferry to St Thomas to go to school. Turns out all but elementary kids go to St Thomas any way. Getting off and on was challenging. Driver drove very fast around blind corners. On the positive side, driver was on time and courteous. Time spent at Trunk Bay was the highlight. It would be a good value at the published price, but $125/person seemed high, especially with tipping. Not our best first experience with Viator.
This is a lot of driving and not that much to see. I think a taxi to mountain top and turtle Bay would be advantageous over this tour. Compared to the one we did in St Thomas this one was twice the cost and not as good.
Driver didn’t seem very into his tour also did not seem to interested in answering questions. We arrived at the beach later and didn’t get the full 2 hours. Felt sorry for people who really wanted to see the beach
Once was not enough with this tour company, and we used them both for St. Thomas and St. Johns. We used the same tour guide, Jermaine, because he is so funny and loved hanging out with him. He took us to all the beautiful spots to take memorable photos. He was absolutely a pleasure and made both tours a wonderful experience!
The team worked hard to ensure we made red hook ferry and then had another team waiting in saint johns. Our tour guide was knowledgeable of island. We would recommend but be ready beach can be busy if crew ships are in so finding a shaded spot can be hard. Otherwise rent an umbrella. But yes well worth the price and trip
Kenneth our tour guide was very good. Any changes to the schedule, our itenarary, and plans were discussed in detail. He was very descriptive and very informative. Great guide, great tour!!!!
First part of the trip was hurried. Second part in St John was very informative. Thank you, Kenneth a lot
Our drivers were both very good. Kenneth did a fabulous job of informing us and keeping us on schedule.
Information misrepresented, most of the tour time was taken up in transport from cruise dock to ferry and ferry boat ride. Actual tour time on St John’s was little over tour time. Difficulty communicating with drivers as to meeting place with cruise ship. Seemed very disorganized and tour guide had limited information to provide. Definitely not worth the cost.
The best part of the trip was Trunk Bay. The beach is amazing and the best beach I have ever been on. We were supposed to get 2 hours at the beach and only received 1 hour there. The tour of the island was nice but there were items we didn't need to see, such as the back of Kenny Chesney's house. The views where we stopped were beautiful. We talked to our tour operator, Kenneth, about stopping at the National Park Visitor Center on our way back to the ferry. He agreed to do it but only gave us 5-8 minutes there. Our only reason for going on our cruise and subsequently this tour, was to visit the national park as we are trying to visit all 63 national parks. It was a good tour, but we could have had more time at the beach as promised in the description. Also, you are able to get your National Park stamp at Trunk Bay. So you don't have to take the tour where you drive around the island unless you want to.
This is an absolutely perfect tour if you have short time in St John & want to see as much of the beautiful scenery & still have time to enjoy Trunk Bay! The driver guide, Kenneth, was so easy to meet with at the designated time & place …and the tour was fun, informative, with stunning views of beaches and nearby islands was breathtaking! I highly recommend this tour guide & this tour!
Robert and Kenneth were both very great and nice! Kenneth was very knowledgeable and personable about St John. Trunk Bay was beautiful!
It was an okay tour, but I expected to see more of the cultural aspects of the island. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. We toured an old sugar cane plantation and spent time on the beach. The rest of the tour was just riding around the perimeter of the island looking at the beaches from a distance. I would have liked to have seen the town and get a sense of the culture there even though it’s a small island. Since we had to pay for our own ferry ride from St. Thomas, I really don’t think the price was worth what we did.
We all know that if you’re on a cruise ship you have a time schedule i booked a tour with this company to go from St Thomas to St John’s. Tour was supposed to be from 9 AM-1 PM all aboard time for Princess was 4:30 PM. We was not put back on the Ferry from ST John’s until 3:00PM with a 20 minute ferry ride and a 30 minute bus ride back to the port! I was not happy about this but when I contacted the company I was called a racist, and a liar! They also claimed that Princess changed the port time which they did NOT! Was the same time when I booked the cruise! As you can read from the other complaints it’s never their fault! So learn from my mistake and read the reviews especially if your arriving by cruise ship!! I will attach my receipt for the tour in the pictures
Operator did not let me know we were on the wrong island even though I specifically told him the ship and times. I asked for a map which might have helped me realiize location. Never received. Very disappointed and feel a refund should be given. This was for 3 people. A large loss if $$$
The driver cancelled this trip by screaming at us that he would not take us because it was just the two of us. Where is my damn refund?
Great tour. Picked us up at the resort, took us to the island ferry. Kenneth was waiting on St John when our ferry arrived. He drove us around St John, pointing out key points and stopping at overlooks. He dropped us at Trunk Bay and picked us up after a couple hours. Great snorkeling and relaxing on the beach. Kenneth dropped us off by the ferry with plenty of time to shop and get a late lunch. When our group got back on the ferry to St Thomas he contacted a driver that was waiting on us when we arrived. He took us back to the resort for drop off.
This was an amazing tour. We loved the history of St John and seeing the mutiple beautiful beaches amd our guide Kenneth was amazing with explaining tje history.
My Family and I had the best time…this was an absolutely amazing tour. From touring some part of the island of St. John to a few hours at Truck bay beach ( The most incredible beach I have ever seen). All the people who manage the hour was great. Big thank you to Kenny for being a great guide and keep everyone on schedule and safe at St. John. The best tour of our vacation!
The scenery was beautiful, and Kenneth (our guide) was friendly and informative, but…. This was absolutely NOT the tour advertised. We were the first passengers to be picked up and second-to-last to be dropped off. The total experience for us, pick-up to drop-off, was under three hours. Not five hours as advertised. We did not have two hours at Trunk Bay Beach as advertised. In fact, we did not even go to Trunk Bay Beach, but rather stopped for a short scenic overlook only. We did not stop at the Virgin Islands National Park Center as advertised, and did not have an opportunity to purchase souvenirs as advertised. Our total cost for two people (not including tip) was $244.18, not $83.12 per person as advertised. Looking more carefully, I conclude that we were charged nearly $80 extra to be picked up at Gallows Point, rather than in the center of Cruz Bay (three blocks away).
