Apex City Quay Hotel & Spa

I’ve stayed at the Apex Dundee many times between 2015 and 2022 and never had an issue, so I was genuinely surprised at how poor this stay was. At around £200 a night, I don’t think it is unreasonable to expect the room to at least be properly clean. The carpet was heavily stained, including a large red stain that continued slightly up the curtain. It looked like the aftermath of a bottle of red wine, or possibly something worse. Either way, it needed a shampoo, not another guest. The windows were also covered in bird mess and looked like they had not had a proper clean in quite some time. There was also only one large bath towel provided for two people. Then there are the extras. £7 to park at the hotel, and when I asked about room service I was told there was a £5 delivery fee to bring it upstairs. At £200 a night, I would have thought the journey up in the lift was already covered. The staff were perfectly lovely and I have absolutely no issue with them. They were polite and helpful throughout. Unfortunately, the room itself felt tired, grubby and nowhere near the standard I remember from previous stays. I used to stay here regularly and always thought highly of it, which made this even more disappointing. The prices certainly seem to have moved with the times. The standards, unfortunately, have not.

Stayed here a few weeks back for work. Great location, not far from the train station. Great view from my room and obviously next to the water. Has a nice lounge/bar area. The gym is relatively simple but absolutely perfect for what you would want for a stay. Pool looked decent too. Main gripe would be my room was incredibly warm due to lack of air con. Understand this obviously isn't a problem for much of the year in Scotland...but we do get plenty of hot summer days! Still though, solid spot for a stay.

We had a lovely stay. The room was spacious, clean with a beautiful view to Docks. The pool n spa was added pleasure! Staff was very friendly n polite. Highly recommended

This was our first time staying at Apex Hotel & Spa in Dundee, and we had such a wonderful experience from the moment we arrived until the day we checked out. We were greeted with a warm welcome by the reception staff, who were friendly, polite, and happy to answer any questions we had. They made the check-in process quick and easy, which was a great start to our stay. Our room exceeded our expectations. It was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, with everything we needed for a relaxing break. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room was quiet, so we had a great night's sleep. The view from our room was absolutely beautiful and quickly became one of our favourite parts of the stay. Waking up each morning and looking out over the waterfront made the experience even more special. The hotel itself was clean, modern, and very well maintained. Every area we visited was tidy and looked after to a high standard, creating a calm and welcoming atmosphere. It's clear that the staff work hard to keep everything in excellent condition. The location is also fantastic. It is close to the waterfront, shops, restaurants, and other attractions, making it easy to explore Dundee without having to travel far. We really enjoyed walking around the area and found it to be a perfect base for our trip. What stood out the most was the excellent customer service. Every member of staff we came across was friendly, professional, and always greeted us with a smile. Those small acts of kindness really made a difference and helped make our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better first stay. Everything exceeded our expectations, from the comfortable room and stunning view to the cleanliness, great location, and exceptional service. We left with wonderful memories and will definitely choose Apex Hotel & Spa again when we return to Dundee. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, relaxing, and enjoyable place to stay. Thank you 8
