Split To Plitvice Lakes Private Tour With Local Guide

We actually had a custom 2-week itinerary which included visiting Split and Plitvice Lakes and a private tour in each location. Hrvoje helped build the custom itinerary for us based on the couple of areas we knew we wanted to visit. There was a lot of flexibility in the amount of support that could be provided. For example, he suggested accommodations to book at each location. In the end, I decided to make my own accommodation arrangements as our group had some special needs. Communications were prompt, clear, and professional. Pave was our driver for the entire 2 weeks. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and considerate and also had great attention to detail. Each day, he would confirm the plans for the following day. And each morning, he would check in with a text about 30-45 minutes prior to the scheduled pick up time. He was always on time / a bit early. We appreciate that he always had the car clean and gassed up before he picked us up each day. He even had a small stool/step which was very helpful for the less physically able in our group to get in and out of the vehicle. Pave was also considerate about checking in with us about our comfort on the longer drives. And we learned a lot more about the country, history, culture, language, etc. during all of the time spent with him. He also had great recommendations for restaurants and gelato along the way! The local guides that were arranged for us were all great. Very knowledgeable and we learned so much. It helped to make the experience much more enriching. All of the guides were great about adapting the tours to our needs and abilities as well. Everyone in our group was extremely happy with our experience with Pave and the Croatia Private Tours group! We highly recommend them and would definitely book with them again.

We are a group of 7 friends and did two tours and one transfer between Dubrovnik and Split with this company. Communication was excellent. The drivers were on time, professional, and responded to all of our requests. The guides were excellent. We would highly recommend this company.

I booked a five consecutive multi day trips from Split to various cities in Dalmatia & the Plitvice National Park with Croatia Private Tours , as well as airport transfer/ pick up. The trip to the Plitvice Lakes was amazing. The driver Ivan was excellent, we felt very safe with him driving. The local guide Mikala was extremely knowledgeable about the lakes. The waterfalls are some of the best I have ever seen. Such beautiful pristine scenery. A wonderful day trip from Split.

Vinko made the best of a bad situation: torrential downpour almost the entire trip. He kept our spirits up and took us to a very pleasant cafe afterward. Although he took us a new route home that turned out to be torn up for construction, he got us home safely. Thanks for an adventure, Vinko!

Went with Pave and had a fabulous time!! Got us to the park early and with ease, let us relax in the car, gave excellent recommendations of what to do while we were visiting Split, and even took us to an incredible spot for roasted Lamb!

Andrea was our driver and was very knowledgeable about history and geography of Croatia. Her vehicle was clean and very comfortable. At Plitvice park our private guide was Lazar. It was great to be with our own guide vs a large group. He was knowledgeable and knows how to find all of the places we wanted to see. The park is a very special place with the turquoise lakes and big waterfalls. Croatia tours was very responsive with questions and in touch quickly with trip details. I highly recommend using this company for your travels in Croatia.

The natural beauty in Plitvice Lakes National Park will feed your soul! It got crowded and in the afternoon, but the morning was so calm and peaceful, listening to all the water sounds and being surrounded by the turquoise lakes!

Long day, but worth the trip. Plitvice Lakes are unique and beautiful! Rained the entire day but still a great experience. Our driver was informative and accommodating. Took us to a local restaurant for a fun, delicious lunch after. Tour guide set a great place and provided interesting history of the lakes/park.

Great, breezy way to tour the lakes! The local guide was a real expert. Pickup & drop off at the hotel was a breeze. Perfect way to spend a day at the park!

Mario was very punctual and provided a smooth, comfortable ride to the lakes including WiFi on board and a rest stop about halfway through. Our guide, Katarina, was extremely personable and knowledgeable. She efficiently navigated us through the park and took wonderful photos. And the tour ended with a delicious local lunch. Overall, a great way to experience the lakes!

We did a multiple city trip with transportation organized and provided by Hrvoje Curkovic. We traveled with friends from Dubrovnic to Hvar, then Split followed by Plitvice Lakes, Rovenj, ending in Venice. Hrvoje is excellent at planning and knowing when and where to take his clients. You can trust his recommendations and sit back and enjoy your trip...as we did! I could not have dreamed how beautiful Croatia and Italy would be or how friendly and helpful the people! We had the pleasure of Hrvoje drive us one day when someone was sick. We also had the pleasure of being driven by Matco. He was awesome at his job and became more of a friend! I had written this review back in October but realized recently it did not post. So glad I caught this as they deserve lots of praise for helping make our trip so incredible! Thank you guys!

Oliver took us to Mostar and Medjgorie had a great time and he gave us a lot of great information. mirjana was our guide in the plitvice lakes. She new all the inside and outs of that park. They were fantastic

We had a great tour of Plitvice Lakes. Emil was great. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about Croatia and Split. He provided us with wonderful history and interesting facts about the country and Plitvice Lakes. It was a long drive to the Lakes and back, but Emil made the trip funny and interesting for us all.

Such a great tour with Anita as guide. She was so knowledgeable about the lakes and could just tell how much she enjoyed her job and was passionate about the lakes. We were so lucky with the weather. Our taxi driver Marin was so nice and friendly, he took us to a great local restaurant on the way back which would highly recommend. Definitely would recommend it as a way of getting to see the Plitvice Lakes, a must see if you go to Croatia. You won't believe the blue!

Our driver was a highlight of the trip. He explained so much on the way to Plitvice Lakes (was a long drive and that was the part I was concerned about) that we may have enjoyed the drive just as much as the main attraction. Plitvice Lakes were gorgeous and not very crowded the time we went in afternoon. Defiantly do this trip and do with this company....they are top notch.

Very well organized and efficient private transfer to the national park from Split. Driver friendly and accommodating. Coordinated well with private guide at Plitvice Lakes who took the pair of us on a three hour tour through the parks. Would argue that a private guide is likely not needed in the Plitvice Lakes. Not sure that there was a significant amount that was added to the experience having one other than being slightly more efficient walking through the park. Overall experience was well run. Would recommend.

Our tour guide Oliver (Oli) was AMAZING. We would have been lost without him. He was so knowledgeable about everything along our way to Plitvice National Park. Once we got to the park, he knew all the best places to go and how to see the park from the upper to the lower lakes. He filled us in on all the history and never made us feel rushed. We had a great trip to Plitvice Lakes with our guide, Oliver, who was highly knowlegeable about Plitvice national park as well as about Croatia in general. There happened to be a marathon event going on at the park on the day we visited that resulted in some changes to the normal schedules and transportation within the park, but Oliver was able to suggest some adjustments that resulted in a great experience at this beautiful park. Overall a highly recommended trip.

This is an absolute must do tour if you are in Croatia! Plitvice Lakes is so beautiful I ran out of superlatives. We have been to many beautiful places, but this is easily in our top 3. The lakes are even lovelier in person than they are in photos. Going with Croatia Private Tours was super comfortable and super easy; much better than trying to navigate a bus or renting a car. Our driver, Marin, was relaxed and easy going, and the company put us with Anita for our tour of the park itself. Anita was FANTASTIC. She has a wealth of knowledge, is charming, and very interactive. She answered all of our many questions, and if you are interested in local flora she seems to know everything you might think to ask. After the walk, we wanted to have lunch, and Anita, Marin, and Croatia Private Tours all recommended Vila Velebita, which was fantastic, with great food and a great staff. A MUST DO TOUR WITH THIS COMPANY.

Plitvice National Park is really a treasure. The place is amazing. The waterfalls, lakes, and the entire day was special. The park is accessible by wooden boardwalks that weave a path through the countless waterfalls, lakes, and ponds. The water is a beautiful blue and green color. Our private guide knew the route with the fewest tourists, and as a local, she was keen to share the natural history of the area. She identified all the plants, and trees, and pointed out several special flowers including orchids native only to the Plitvice Lakes area. On the drive back to Split, our driver stopped at a favorite local restaurant where we feasted on locally grown foods, and had a glass of wine. All in all, we had a wonderful day with a very comfortable ride, amazing tour, and delicious food.

Plitvice Lakes Park is a natural wonder and well worth the visit. Stunning views everywhere we turned. Matko our guide/driver was friendly, engaging and a wealth of information about all things Croatian. He continued to send us additional recommendations for Split activities well after our tour was over. Mirjana, our guide for the walking tour of the park, was equally wonderful and made our visit a memorable experience.

My driver and the team were very nice and communication was best in class. I had put down a deposit with them before COVID hit and I had to move the trip out a year. They were very accommodating and in fact proactively reached out to me to remind me I had put down a deposit and they were eagerly still awaiting my arrival date. Five star service all around. The driver and guide were exceptionally professional. Communication with Croatia Private Tours was fast and efficient. In route to Plitvice, from Split, the driver took us to a coffee shop stop with fantastic views of the river below. When she learned it was our last night in Croatia from a two week holiday, she arranged for us to have a special dinner during the return drive at a lovely konoba with fantastic food. She even called ahead to reserve a table and pre order some of the famous dishes from the restaurant which normally sell out early. Our guide at Plitvice was very informative, moved at our pace and really enhanced the whole experience. She shared so many interesting stories about the park, pointed out local flora and fauna, could identify wildlife and showed us many incredible points of interest we would have missed if we had not had a professional guide with us. She tailored the visit to the park around our capabilities and energy level so that it all felt very personal. I can't say enough good things about this tour company. They fully enhanced our experience of the park and made for an incredibly stress free day of enjoying the surrounding nature.
