Meeting was nice and easy, guide was very fluent in English, explained a lot of the history and meaning behind things for us and kept it funny and interesting. Drop off back to our cruise ship was also extremely helpful and on time as promised. I'd like to visit Split again but probably in the warmer months because in November a lot of the shops in Trogir were closed.
This was a very relaxed but extremely enjoyable tour. Our tour guide (Ivan) was very knowledgeable and gave us a tour of the main parts of Diocletian’s palace. The places we visited had a lot more meaning once we understood their history and use. We would strongly recommend this tour if you are interested in learning more about the history of the city. Our next stop was Trogir which is a wonderful historic town. Again, our tour guide took us through the main sites and gave us an overview of their history. He was even kind enough to buy us some of the local sweets for us to taste. They were so good that we had to buy some more during our free time! We were given sufficient free time to explore the city further on our own. We went to the fortress which gives you a great panorama of the city. We also walked through the labyrinth of medieval narrow streets and let the wonderful atmosphere sink in. It was a great trip and we would recommend
Our tour guide was knowledgeable and allowed us some free time to explore Trojir on our own. She had a wealth of knowledge of Split and Trojir.
Very informative and knowledgeable. Would recommend
Enjoyed the tour, the guides were great and shared so much history and information on the area. Would love to have had a little less time in the palace and more time to explore the many streets of Trogir.
The tour was incredible and the guides provided a lot of information on the regions of Split and Trogir. It was a bit overwhelming..
Excellent tour, Ivana our tour guide was informative, enthusiastic and passionate which made the tour even more enjoyable. Easy from start to finish, well organised and smooth throughout.
Frane was an excellent guide, very informative about Split and Trogir. They tour was excellent value compared to the cruise ships costs. We were met outside the terminal gates.
Mario was a super guide. He was knowledgeable and engaging, adding fun facts to keep the history interesting. The amount of time we spent in each city was perfect. He was also easy to find when exiting the cruise ship.
Very knowledgeable and strong women! They had a lot of energy and even persevered through the rain! Great!
Great tour guide. She provided great historical information in a way that was captivating, humorous, and filled with lots of energy.
The tour was excellent with helpful informative guides. Excellently organised and very interesting. The walking tours were not too big which made it easy to follow and listen to the information being given.
Rain ruined any chance of a great tour. However, what we had was ok. Shame guide spoke so softly, it was hard to hear.
Our tour leader Ivana was very enthusiastic. There was so much fun and at the same time so much to learn in thus tour.
Ivana/Jane was so great! She was FULL of great info and had a beautiful bubbly personality. The singers in the Castle were really good. All in all it was a really great trip... in spite of heavy rain in Trogir.
I had no idea what to expect and absolutely loved both Split and Trogir. Our guide was fantastic and so down to earth. Loved Diocletian’s Palace. Trogir was gorgeous.
on the morning of our tour, our cruise ship captain made a decision to not dock in Split because of rough seas. We contacted the tour promptly and requested a refund. The tour operator refused our request for a refund. Viator declined to intervene.
Antonia was very knowledgeable about the history of her city. Tour was well organized and traveled at a good pace.
We enjoyed seeing your lovely town and learning about your history and your culture. I think that you should consider using amplification devices for the lectures because at times in crowded spaces. It was very hard to hear the important information that you were trying to tell us. You are very prompt with timing, you accommodated cruise ship pick ups and the entire day ran without fault.
Even was a super guide.he told great stories to go along with the history. He was very knowledgeable. He helped me get up and down steps since I use a cane. The pace of the tour was perfect.
Tour guides were fun and very knowledgeable, close to the best ever. Be ready for lots of informative history and story telling, bus ride to Trogir and an hour break for lunch and shopping. Pickup was close to cruise ship and drop off was choice of Split or back to cruise ship. Very convenient and walking was not stressful.
Met off ship easily. Short wait for all guests. Good info and clear, understandable information. Moved through busy areas with ease. Short bis journey with good information again. Time to get some lunch and free time. Great return to town/ship with time to spare for individual shopping/re visiting. Great guides.
Meet our guide, Marta, outside the terminal gate; very visible with the purple umbrella. Walking tour of Split. Very interesting and Marta knew her stuff about the history and importance of Split. Traveled about 30 minutes to Trogir. Short walking tour and then found a lively lace to eat local food. Fabulous. Great way to send time in Split and Trogir.
If you only have a day in the area this is a great tour to cover a lot of ground. Our guide, Antonia, was excellent. She is a local and very knowledgeable. Her enthusiasm made the tour a lot of fun. The transfer between the cities was well organized on a nice, clean bus. We were met and dropped off at the cruise port which made it easy for us. We would highly recommend this tour.
This was a great tour and much cheaper than booking a similar tour via our cruise ship. Our guide was excellent!
Both guides were informative. Didn’t like the two split into one group been sharing a bus. Overall saw what I wanted to see and it went well.
Tour was interesting There were two guides. The gentleman we had was knowledgeable but was hard to hear and not as interesting as the other guide from our bus. He frequently spoke not facing us as he was pointing to things. The trip should use audio pieces .
We have been satisfied with all aspects of this tour. The guide, Ivana, picked us right at the entrance from the cruise ship port. She was very enthusiastic, knowledgeable, spoke excellent English. We learned many facts about Split and its history, which we did not find doing the preliminary on-line study of this place.
Very nice tour really enjoyed the walking and seeing the city. Our guide Marta was very knowledgeable and very pleasant. They were older people in the group. She was very attentive that the speed of excursion will not be too much for them. She truly was at the light.
Excellent!! Great guide, Ivanna! Highly highly recommend this tour. Well spoken , very loud and clear to understand
Martha very knowledgeable. Excellent transportation. Can totally recommend this tour.
Split was one of the highlights of our trip to Croatia. From the moment we arrived. We were captivated by the city’s beauty, rich history, and vibrant atmosphere. Walking through the ancient streets of Diocletian’s Palace and along the picturesque waterfront, gave us a true appreciation for the charm and character of Split. What made our experience especially memorable was our guide. Her knowledge, enthusiasm and engaging storytelling brought the city’s history to life, she shared fascinating insights, answered all our questions and made the tour both informative and enjoyable. The perfect combination of stunning scenery, fascinating history, and an outstanding guide made this an unforgettable experience. We left with a much deeper appreciation for Split and some wonderful memories! Would highly recommend!!
Great tour, very knowledgeable and entertaining!
Frane was a phenomenal historian , can see his passion for these two cities and Dalmatian Croatia. We learned so much and appreciated his knowledge. Ivana was excellent with directing our group and loved her enthusiasm. Thank goodness for these two guides in Split!
Ivan was our guide and he was exceptional in every way. Personable and knowledgeable
Ivan was an amazing guide. He had a wealth of information and answered all our questions. The tour was excellent and we highly recommend it and the tour guide. Naomi Stonberg
Do this tour! The guides were amazingly friendly and knowledgeable. Super fun!
This was a nice tour with 12 people. I thought the guide was very good and it was well organized. Would do again
Our guide was simply fantastic. Extremely interesting, knowledge, funny. She told is all about the history. She answered questions , she was very kind and genuinely seemed to love her country and enjoyed telling us about it. Each time we had breaks or time on our she would call roll to make sure everyone was back. I had another tour where the guide went off and left us because we took an extra 60 sections coming down the stairs. This guide was great. I do not know her name she said we could call her Jane for simplicity. She was the best guide we had during our entire trip!
Ivana was a wonderful guide! She gave us so much great information about this area and its history, all while keeping it lively and entertaining. She also gave us great tips on food, wine, and using ATMs here. We highly recommend this tour and our awesome guide!!
The guide is very friendly and knowledgeable! We truly enjoy the tour.
I especially loved learning about the lesser-known details of Split’s past and discovering places I would have completely missed on my own. The tour was well-paced, informative, and entertaining from start to finish.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an amazing time on the **Split: Palace Secrets & Fun History Tour with Mario**! From the very beginning, Mario was engaging, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the history of Split and Diocletian’s Palace. What sets this tour apart is the perfect balance between fascinating historical facts and entertaining stories. Mario brought ancient Roman history to life with humor, local insights, and plenty of hidden details that we would have completely missed on our own. His enthusiasm was contagious, and he made the entire experience both educational and fun. The pace was relaxed, the group interaction was excellent, and we learned so much about the city's history, culture, and legends. Even though we've done guided tours in many cities, this was one of the most memorable. If you're visiting Split and want to truly appreciate the secrets of Diocletian’s Palace while having a great time, don't miss this tour. Highly recommended, and a big thank you to Mario for such a fantastic experience! 😊
This was a great tour! I would recommend it! Tour guides were knowledgeable and you could hear them amongst the crowds at the sights.
Wonderful guide. Wish we had more free time in Trogir.
Great communication before the tour. Excellent directions for meetup. Antonia has passion and enthusiasm for the topics covered. Her English is top notch. She was informative and interesting, lots of history to give context to what we were seeing. Adequate time for bathroom breaks and she kept the group of @ 12 people together. Cost of the tour was more than reasonable.
Great length of time. Just the right amount of walking and information. But what made it exceptional was our guide Ivana. She made the history and cultural context came alive and be relevant to today. She was professional and personable and considerate and kind and fun.
Very informative and interesting excursion! Mario our guide was Excellent!! We recommend this to learn about these interesting places!
