They left us, so not great. Our tour was at 8:00 am, and they left at 6:40. We had NO idea, and they said they emailed us. It’s ok - we got a refund and hired a very knowledgeable woman for a private tour for WAY less money.

Following a short drive from Ston to Dubrovnik, you will embark on a guided tour of Dubrovnik, beginning with a visit to the Stradun Promenade for your first glimpse of one of the Mediterranean's most beautiful cities and its spectacular city walls. Our professionally guided tour is led by our tour guide, who has years of experience and whose passion for the city will be evident as you walk through these ancient streets and marvel at the rich architecture. Admire the monumental fortifications and city gates, wandering the labyrinthine streets behind the ramparts. The guided tour lasts for about an hour and a half. After the walking tour, you have enough time to revisit the main attractions of the Old Town to sample the wonderful Mediterranean specialities in the Old Town, get a coffee on Stradun, and purchase traditional filigree jewellery.

This was a great way to visit the incomparable city of Dubrovnik in a day from Split. Only 4.5 hours was not much time to see all the sights in the Old Town, but our guide Elena provided a very informative introduction. We were happy not to be staying in Dubrovnik, given how mobbed it was with tourists. The drive with South Tours was long, but well broken up with a nice stop in the charming town of Ston on the way down, and at a roadside winery with gorgeous views on the way back.
We had a fabulous time with our driver, Ivan. He made the drive entertaining simply because he enjoys life. Quick stop in Ston which was a fascinating area. We would have loved to walk to the wall but deterred because of the rain. Once we arrived at Dubrovnik, we had a quick guided tour with a local guide before being left to experience the area on our own. We enjoyed the views from the walk around the wall. The area within the walls is simply fascinating. Ivan was kind enough to stop on the way back to allow us to buy the local orange produce which was outstanding. We enjoyed the tour and highly recommend.
Drakeo was excellent. Told us all about the history of Ston and Dubrovnik very pleasant man also history about Croatia👏👏👏👏 he went right back in history also told us about the recent war which was very interesting
Despite the tour operator confirming the tour at 1300 the day before, they sent a WhatsApp message 1630 the day before the tour stating that it was cancelled due to other guests asking to move to a different date. This happened despite the terms and conditions stating clearly that no changes were permitted within 24 hours of departure. We were unable to move to an alternative date as we had booked for last full day of our holiday in Split. Due to the very late notice we were unable to switch to an alternative provider. Operator provided no options other than refund (which was processed quickly).
The best trip to Dubrovnik. Ms. Nina from south tours was so nice and very helfipul. Even the driver was so nice to us and very funny. He made us laugh. Will recommend to all my friends. Had a great time.
When booking this trip, we knew it was going to be a long day in a van. In hindsight, 7.5 hours in a van for a 4 hour visit wasn't a great choice. In Dubrovnik itself, we had Sylvia as a guide and she was a fantastic guide, providing history and insights on the city. We then had 3 hours to tour the city on our own, visiting all the highlights and having a tasty lunch at one of the numerous restaurants. We had no issues with the driver or the van, but Dubrovnik is probably not a great day trip from Split
Fantastic trip and the driver Ivan was the most entertaining driver we ever have meet fun and talkative
Ivan was the Best driver and made it fun ! Although it was a long road trip it was worth seeing, however he was 100% correct in that there is not enough time in Ston!
I had a fantastic experience on this small group tour from Split to Dubrovnik. Our driver, Ivan, was excellent — informative, engaging, and professional. As we drove, he pointed out landmarks like the Klis medieval fortress, Skywalk Biokovo, and the roadside farm stalls bursting with fresh fruits, vegetables, and juices. We had a brief but enjoyable stop in Ston, famous for its oysters and impressive stone wall. I managed to try fresh oysters at a local restaurant — a real treat! In Dubrovnik, Ivan introduced our group (7 of us) to Niko, our walking tour guide. Niko was knowledgeable and shared fascinating insights into the city's rich history, architecture, and fortifications. The Old Town was stunning, though quite crowded and pricey when it came to food and drinks. Ivan was punctual, attentive, and made sure we were all comfortable and safe throughout the day. I really enjoyed this tour and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a well-organized and informative day trip from Split!
Game of Thrones fans, this is your place! We had a great driver and a super experience. The views are breathtaking! The history is impressive!
Driver was friendly and informative. Tour guide in Dubrovnik was as well, and pointed us to unique gelato. Lots of free time to explore.
The tour was really great. The bus was comfortable and the driver and guide were efficient and personable. I don't think I have ever heard men have conversation like those two - they talked the whole way and while I couldn't understand them, it was nice to experience the relationship. The city of Dubrovnik was beautiful but so crowded and there was only one small cruise ship in the port. I can't imagine what it might have been like had more people been in the old town from cruise ships. My highlight was a scenic boat ride out of the harbor - it was a funky old boat with a grumpy captain but the wind and waves were so wonderful and it was fun to see the town from a different perspective. After the boat ride I had just a little time to go through the old city but the guide had given us good perspective. I did visit the synagogue and there is an amazing small museum there of objects brought to Croatia from Spain and Italy hundreds of years ago. it would have been interesting for the guide to point it out.
Ivan was a very good driver - even used his turn signals when no one was around! Very funny and good communication. Added in a stop for sunset at a winery on drive back to Split. We needed out of the car so we were thankful. 🥰 Helene, our tour guide in Dubrovnik was very , friendly, and gave us great tips and suggestions! Thank you both!!
We hired Daytrip to drive 6 of us from Dubrovnik to Trogir with a stop at Rizman Winery. Our driver arrived early, was very informative and gave us great suggestions for a couple of stops along the way.
Great tour if you are short on time and HAVE to see Dubrovnik like we did. It was fabulous, even though it was as very busy. Ivan drove us there lickety split (pun intended), with a stop in Ston. Ston was OK. We visited the wall (about halfway) and the fortress as well. I would have preferred the hour in Ston to have been an extra hour in Dubrovnik! [Thank you for getting us there and back safely, Ivan 🙂] We met our guide, Michael, upon our arrival in Dubrovnik. He did an amazing job getting us through the crowds and bringing us up to speed on the history of Dubrovnik (fascinating!), especially with the limited time he had with us (1hr). He also recommended places for us to visit based on our interests, as well as places to eat based on our budget and time. Overall this is a wonderful tour if you want to see Dubrovnik while you’re Croatia; I just wish we had that hour in Ston dedicated to Dubrovnik instead!
Driver-tour guide and Dubrovnik tour guide both very good. Selected stops excellent choices. Use of tour rather than self-drive were the right choice given length of drive and traffic getting into Dubrovnik.
The driver was quite good. We loved the stop on the way back with the view. Wished we had stopped someplace other than Ston. There really wasn’t anything to do there or to see other than the wall on the hill. Would have liked someplace with free public toilets at least. We enjoyed walking the walls at Dubrovnik. It was a little surprising that the tour guide said she knew nothing about GOT places since she had never watched the show. Wanted to see the staircase. She didn’t bring us there. Her information was a bit boring. If we were only reviewing the driver, we would give the tour a 4 or 5 but considering the tour guide for the town, it was more like a 3.
Very good driver Ivan, he very kind person, and Silvia our tourist guide kindly person and she answer all the question for us and she gave us enough information about Dubrovnik old town.
Fantastic arrangement, comfortable transfer - I was able to take a nap despite the long hours ride! Driver name I forgot, John or Ivan? The guide we met was articulate and provided a lot of historical information.
Day before tour, we received message that we were the only ones registered and it was cancelled - Dubrovnik was one of the places that we really wanted to see when we were in Croatia
This was a wonderful day trip! Our driver Antonio was so friendly and we enjoyed chatting with him on the drive. We stopped for coffee on the way in a lovely town and the drive to Dubrovnik is absolutely beautiful. The local guide in Dubrovnik was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed the tour with her. Afterwards there was plenty of time to explore Dubrovnik on our own. The drive home was pleasant as well and we stopped along the way at a gorgeous roadside stop with a scenic overlook and had a lovely glass of wine. Would recommend this trip to anyone!
Great day out and our driver, Ivan, made our long coach journey enjoyable. Our guide was informative and friendly. Only negative comment is that we didn’t have enough free time to enjoy and explore Dubrovnik and an extra hour or two was needed.
Tony, our driver, was awesome. I really enjoyed learning about tge area from him. Also, in the (tiny) town itself, Sylvia was very helpful. Dubrovnik is a must-see if you are interested in history. Like anything not built recently, it does not have a lot of wheelchair or baby stroller access. For the like of me, I don't know why anyone would wheel a stroller around with a baby there. I felt sorry for those overheated, tired babies and toddlers.
Definitely worth the visit to get a feel for Dubrovnik, the tour was well run and the driver Antonio was excellent
Took this tour from Split with South Tours, booked through “Get your guide”. The initial day we had booked for had rain forecast, but it was really easy to change the day of the tour online, with no cancellation charge. It’s a 3 hour drive to Dubrovnik, but there are comfort stops, including a short break in the town of Ston - a place we were unaware of, but has superbly preserved fortified walls which apparently are second in length only to the Great Wall of China, and was part of the Republic of Ragusa in medieval Europe along with Dubrovnik. The drive no longer requires travelling into Bosnia due to the newly built bridge (so no passport required). Dubrovnik itself was fantastic, and it is a shame time only allows for a few quick activities as there is a lot to see. The guided walking tour was excellent, giving lots of information on the history of the town and its various buildings - it takes approx an hour and a half. We then had time to grab a bite to eat and decided to take a look at a few GOT filming sites plus the Wall walk, which was fantastic for views of the city. It is fairly steeply priced at 35 euros per person, but still worth it. The trip back involves a stop off for wine tasting before arriving back in Split at around 8.30pm. A long day but gives a good taster of Dubrovnik - somewhere we will likely now return to for a longer stay in the future.
Excellent tour and very informative. I would definitely recommend 100% to anyone traveling to Croatia.
Stopping at the service area for a glass of wine and a fabulous view This is a long trip but I have to. say the driver Antonio was. brilliant. He was prompt and helpful and worked hard to keep us on time despite the traffic. The guide was very pleasant but I did not feel I learned much about the history of the place. It was more focussed on the best viewpoints for photos or the best place to eat and how much it cost to get into the sights (an awful lot! How can they justify 36 euros to climb up onto the walls and walk along them I don't know) The time we had there made that impossible anyway. The guided tour felt rushed and it is probably too much for a day trip
Loved Dubrovnik. Enjoyed walking the wall around old town. Matt provided us with a good overview of the old town and its history. The only reason for four stars was the long drive made our time in Dubrovnik short.
Great day we had. Eli was great guide. Would recommend this tour. It was a nice spent day and the little stop in Stone was great.
We requested a pick up as one was offered but were told that we were only 3 minutes away from the meeting point so we walked only to find that although we were so close to the meeting point we actually had to walk in excess of 1 kilometre to the 'bus'. The bus turned out to be a mini van which had almost blacked out windows and VERY little room. We decided not to go.
Dubrovnik was worth visiting! The poor review was due to guide in the city being too fast, did not wait for all people to join prior starting explanation and we could not hear the guide adequately due to surrounding noise.
Well organized. Beautiful lakes. Love the fun facts in the car journeys. WhatsApp group was a really good idea as well and always reminding us of the time we should finish our breaks.
It was a great trip, I can firmly recommend it. Our driver and tour guide was amazing. Thanks Hrvoje Boris
Amazing drive there and back with excellent stops in between following a great tour and experience in Dubrovnik.
I like that we got 3 hours of free time and we got to learn the history of Dubrovnik. The ride is long but the bus is comfortable and you can sleep during. I also like that we stop twice to use the bathroom.
Very good day trip with a very nice guide, who gave us many information all the way to Dubrovnik. The local guide was very interesting and showed us all the most important buildings there. We recommand you to do this tour.
Fantastic tour with Mile! We stopped along the way to Dubrovnik at a fantastic winery which we would not have known about otherwise. He definitely knows how to make a three hour drive fly by, definitely recommend this tour!
Harry is the best driver :D This trip was not boring with him at all. He gave us good advices how to save some money. Dubrovnik is wonderful and a perfect destination for a day trip :)
My Fiancée and I had a fantastic excursion to Dubrovnik from Split. Harry was an unbelievable driver with lots of knowledge and very passionate about Croatia and the local heritage. We learnt a lot from him and he gave us a lot of information; before, during and after the tour and the passing through the Bosnia Herzegovina border was seamless (must remember passports!!), the stop off points gave us incredible panoramic views and was a great photographer. The tour guide herself (Sylvia) was very informative and guided us around the city walls and gave us a great walking tour, taking care of everyone and ensuring we stopped in shady locations. We had enough free time to eat and grab an ice cream. I would recommend anyone staying in Duče/Omis or even Split to do this tour as we would do it again in a heartbeat. Thank you very much Harry and Sylvia
Our tour to Dubrovnik was awesome. Our driver Henri was gentle, communicative and informative during the whole trip and stopped a few times for some extra stuff: We stopped for some beautiful views of landscapes, at a little fruit shop for fruit and honey tasting and on the way back at a plateau with a magnificent view over a valley in front of the ocean for a wine tasting. On top of that he gave us many little tips and tricks for our stay in Dubrovnik . Our Guide at Dubrovnik Elli was awesome too. She was nice, informative and passionate. Dubrovnik itself is a beautiful town and one the places that you must see, when you are in Croatia! Especially when you are a Game of Thrones fan or like historical places. It was an awesome experience you don't want to miss!
Excellent trip to Dubrovnik, our driver was outstanding and the stops on the trip were very interesting. Great experiencw
Great tour ! Harry our driver was fantastic, really Knowledgeable and helpful would absolutely recommend.
The guide was half an hour late and then out introducing herself just turned and walked to the bus which was an air conditioned van with seats rammed too close together to fit your knees in even before people in front put their seats into reclining. The guide continued her silence so she didn’t learn our names or vice versa or even anything about the journey… how long or if there was a loo stop. We were dropped off way above the town… no reason given and had to walk down many steps… over 10 mins during which one lady fell trying to keep up with the guide who was still unaware of this when we reached the bottom. The we were the only English speaking couple for English speaking guided tour of Dubrovnik which was clearly not what the German, Spanish and Dutch group expected and they really did not have English as a second language. I explained that there was no way we could go back up all their steps to the bus at the end of the day and our tour guide just said there was no choice and didn’t give a reason. We found out for ourselves that the number 8 bust would take us there so bought our own tickets and organised to meet them at the top just in time to see a member of our group fall over again walking up. Another member of the group felt I’ll when she reached the top of the steps and couldn’t make the next bit of the journey and had to be collected. There was no water on the bus which she needed when she got there. Our guide then walked us a busy 4 lane road with drivers shouting at us that we were mad and that didn’t we know there was an underpass to reach the van parked on the other side. All the while our guide has still said nothing to any of us or even given us her name which we asked for. We called into South Tours on our return to Split at 21.00 where we had found the staff at the office most helpful at all times and apparently the guide was new but didn’t even seem to try to a job. The bus was also too cramped for such a long journey.
While this trip was amazing on its own for its access to a multitude of activities and information from a guide inside the old walls of Dubrovnik, the road to the city was also memorable thanks to our dynamic guide Mile. The guide was entertaining and gave a lot of information concerning important aspects of the country as well as explanations to our questions. We truly recommend this experience as the price was also very affordable considering what was offered to us that day!
Excellent trip. Lovely friendly and informative staff. Relaxing and comfortable journey with plenty of stops on the way. A must do activity 👍
Harry was awesome driver and guide. Patient and nice. That is a dubrovnik tour review :) Enjoy everyone :)
Terrible tour. Clueless guide with us in the, hot small crowded van. One stop in the 4-hour drive in a small Cafe in Bosnia with the rudest people on earth. Left us far from the city gate to avoid paying fee to drop us off, had to walk up and down stairs for about a mile to get there in the hot sun. Handed us off to someone to guide us to the city gate, then handed us off to someone else to guide us in the city (she was ok). Trip back was not better, except no stops in the 4-hour plus trip
Our guide Elie was really good and we really enjoyed a lot this day trip. I would recomend this amezing tour to everyone.
Our Driver, “Harry,” was so professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. His recommendations were spot on for sight seeing and budget-friendly eateries. Our day ended with an amazing view of the city. What a treat! Thanks Harry.
