A very pleasant hostel in Split. Everything is clean, with a cozy and calm atmosphere, and you can really feel the hospitality of the staff. Great value for money — for this price it’s an excellent deal. The location is convenient: about 15 minutes walk to the sea, around 8 minutes to shops, and roughly 13 minutes to an ATM. Everything is within walking distance and easy to reach. A perfect place for a comfortable and affordable stay in the city.

I stayed at OTHOSTEL and had a really pleasant experience. The hostel is clean, fresh, and very cozy, with everything well maintained and organized. It has air conditioning, and even a dishwasher and a washing machine, which is a rare and great bonus for a hostel. The owners are incredibly kind and welcoming people, they really make you feel at home. Overall, everything is very tidy and comfortable, and the atmosphere is peaceful and friendly. I would definitely recommend it for a relaxing and convenient stay. Bačvice Beach is nearby about 10 to 15 minutes walking from the hostel, Diocletian’s Palace is the old town and main attraction about 15 to 20 minutes walking, the main bus station and ferry port are very close and convenient for island trips, supermarkets like Tommy and Studenac are just 2 to 5 minutes away, there are many cafés and bakeries around for quick coffee or food, Park Bačvice and nearby walking areas are good for relaxing, and Split ferry port is about 10 to 15 minutes walking for trips to islands like Hvar and Brac Overall the location is very convenient everything is close beach city center transport and shops are all within walking distance
Unacceptable conditions and intimidation tactics: My friends and I booked two nights here, but the experience was a nightmare. When we arrived, **there was absolutely no staff or owner on-site**. We never met a single person who worked there during our entire stay. We were only able to enter and leave our bags because other guests (not staff) let us in and showed us around. The 'room' was a literal basement with only one tiny window. At 13:00, it was dark, stuffy, and felt completely unsanitary. We hoped things would improve when we returned later to formally check in, but it was worse. The entire building had a sickening, unbearable smell that made it impossible to stay. Since there was still no staff present, we had to coordinate everything via WhatsApp and booking.com messeges with the official contact there. We refused to stay in such sub-standard conditions and, after some pressure, they processed a full refund through Booking.com, begging us not to leave a bad review. We thought it was over, but now they are harassing my friend with messages, demanding payment for one night and threatening us with 'legal action and court proceedings'. This is pure intimidation. A cheap price is not an excuse for a basement that smells like a health hazard and a management that threatens guests after admitting fault. Do not stay here.
We recently stayed here and we were pleasantly surprised. We booked the private double room and it was comfortable and clean, included a modern bathroom (no shower). The common areas (kitchen/ showers) were kept very clean. There was a bit of noise in the kitchen area in the evening but it didn’t bother us too much. The surrounding area was perfectly fine and close to supermarkets. However the response rate on booking.com wasn’t great and I couldn’t access the WhatsApp number so it made check in confusing as we arrived around 9pm. There wasn’t anybody at reception there when we arrived. Overall it was a comfortable stay and good value for money
If you’re looking for a hostel that has the perfect combination of a great atmosphere, a great location, and people who make you feel at home – this is the place. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the energy of the place. The staff is incredibly friendly, always ready to help with recommendations for the city, going out, or hidden local spots that tourists don’t usually find. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and have everything you need for a good night’s rest after a day of exploring. The beds are really comfortable, and the common areas are perfect for meeting people from all over the world. If you’re traveling solo – you’re sure to meet a crew here. The atmosphere is relaxed, socializing is spontaneous, and there’s something going on every night – from group outings to chill nights at the hostel. The location is also great – most of the main sites are within a few minutes’ walk, so it’s a perfect base for exploring the city. Honestly, I came here planning to stay for a few days, and I ended up staying longer. If you’re coming to the city and want more than just a place to stay – this is the hostel where the best part of the trip begins. 🔥
