This is a great family activity. Less so for a group of adults. We spent more time at the concessions than we did looking at lights.

Incredible!! Knowledgeable driver. Very polite and courteous. The Festival of alights is a one of a kind experience that I highly recommend.
Had a wonderful experience on the Festival of Lights tour. Our driver/guide Anderson was most helpful and congenial. My family was here with me visiting from the UK...so it was a nice event to get us in the Christmas spirit . I would highly recommend it.
This was convenient, relaxing, and very friendly. If your looking to see the festival of lights without the hassle of driving or fighting traffic.
The best way to see them! Do not try to get there on your own. Traffic is insane, taking the transport allows the whole family to enjoy the experience.
We went to the Festival of Lights. Out driver was wonderful and provided a lot of information about the event and area. It was incredible
My family went on a Wednesday night and it was pretty busy. Buy your tickets ahead of time and save $10.00. There's lots for kids to do but also enjoyable for adults. Do the train ride, it's 10 or 15 minutes long and only costs $5 each person. Good shopping, roasting marshmallows, pretzels, rock climbing, santa visits and more. Definitely worth going to!
Excellent guide was polite knowledgeable, informative and kind. This is a most enjoyable evening. I can recommend this tour without reservations
Tour guide made the experience a dud. The festival and light show is worth the trip. It would have been better to take our car and go ourselves.
Enjoyable but nothing you wouldn't see in any other town city lights tour. A little pricey but if you can snag a discount it could be worth it!
Meeting place downtown was conveniently located for pickup and drop off, good friendly driver. Drop off at the lights and pickup was on time
We have been to the Holiday Festival of Lights before. The lights and experiences get better every time. There is so much to see and do there. They have something for everyone.
It was longer than it needed to be. 1 1/2 hrs is way too long. There should be some seating about for grandparents and others. The lights were spectacular and Sean our driver was great
Would of been nice to have Christmas music playing while on the bus! Also, customers should be made aware that there are not many food options at the Festival of Lights! So, eat before you go! They do give you a s’more.
Even though it was raining it was still fun to see all the lights. My wife and I enjoyed it very much. We showed my daughter and SIL how much money we saved going on a yellow night. They didn't realize they paid almost twice as much going there 4 times so far this year on the busy nights.
Wonderful weather. Driver did a great job narrating the tour. Lights were spectacular. Lot of work went into light displays.
Great tour guide Shawn! The lights were spectacular. Enjoyed every minute! Wonderful experience for all ages.
Wonderful experience! Our tour guide was delightful. We had a great ride over to James Island. The lights throughout the park were amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed our s’mores and the fire helped warm us up as it was a pretty chilly evening. We are so glad that we took the tour. Thank you!
My family and I enjoyed this, my only thing to say is that the village which was adorable was more for little guys and not teenagers.
The grounds were spectacular. The convenence of using the Bus for both traveling to the grounds and touring through the grounds elliminated all the hassle of driving through the traffic.
The lights are so amazing! The traffic was crazy, but the tour made it stress free. My family loved the Holiday Village and train ride. If you have little ones, they will enjoy the carousel. We got there early enough to enjoy everything and beat the crowds.
It was so convient to leave from visitor center. Got there a few minutes early and able to get right on the train and spend sometime walking around.
Despite the pouring rain, we were left at the little marketplace for over an hour and a half. The activities there, two or three shops and a little sweet shop, could all have been done in less than 45 minutes. There was no way to reach the driver to perhaps leave early. And when I looked online, I could not find any phone number to reach the driver or even his company. It was all very frustrating, and with the rain, it wasn't even a particularly good way to see the lights. I was very disappointed.
We really enjoyed the beautiful lights! My only criticism was that all food options were sweets. Add hot dogs or grilled cheese for those who can’t have or don’t want sweets and you’ve got a perfect event!
Full moon night witnessing the Festival of Lights with marshmallow and hot cocoa for warm up. Absolute delight!
No information on where to meet. Folks were wandering around the outside of the building. Some were late because they were on wrong side. Driver Alan thinks sarcasm is funny. Not! Too much time in the visitor center. No place to sit.
The lights were very impressive, over 2 million! There were many scenes, large and small. It kept our interest the entire time. We had an opportunity to get off the van and walk around the park, make a s’more (provided by the tour), take a train ride, or eat at their restaurant. The van driver gave us the history of the Festival of Lights, which we appreciated being from out of town. We talked to others on the van with us and they said they go every year…which we probably would if we lived in the area.
Lisa was great. Experience of getting to Festival of Lights and having to drive yourself was most enjoyable. Didn’t have to fight any traffic
It was really nice to see all the lights and the s’mores pit was a great treat. The only thing that would have made this more fun is if we had kids with us. Great driver too!
It was a ride through the light display. It was fine...I guess I was hoping for a more interactive driver and a more festive experience though.
Very nice transportation and driver! The lights and location were fantastic! Totally worth it 👍 Even the rain did not ruin it 😊
The Holiday Festival of Lights with Adventure Sightseeing Company was amazing! Lights and holiday decor that everyone at any age can enjoy! The millions of dazzling lights was truly magnificent! Our drive guided tour with Allen was enjoyable! He was friendly, professional, and accommodating. There was plenty to do for families and their kids! Wall climbing, a carousel, train ride, a fire to roast your marshmallows, gift shop, and more! Adventure Sightseeing Tours offers excellent customer service keeping us informed of pick up time and Tour guide information. Would highly recommend!! Will be using them again when I return to Charleston!
Shawn our driver was Excellent and Knowlegable! He gave us some history of Charleston on the way to James Island.
Beautiful lights and enjoyed the ride and everything about the tour. Our guide, Lisa, was wonderful and the whole experience was positive and pleasurable. A must do for all ages:)
The ease of getting there and seeing every single thing was great! It is spectacular . Our driver was great and the tour was a great value.
I signed up for this tour not really knowing what it was. Our family was going to be in Charleston for a few days and we were looking for unique things to do. I thought we’d ride around looking at Christmas lights around the area, not realizing it is an organized display at a nearby park. The bus is comfortable, you can see out of the windows easily, and the driver was safe. There was no commentary on the ride out to the park, no history, no explanation…… just the ride. We got there as it was opening, so the ride in, though we saw lots of lights, was only “okay” because it wasn’t dark yet. The driver dropped us off at the center of the park where there were bathrooms, the opportunity to buy tickets for a little train ride, a few vending areas and a small gift shop. He also gave us a bag with a “s’mores kit” in it so that we could make s’mores on one of the fire pits. (This was a nice and unexpected treat). Once dark, the lights were remarkable. We enjoyed it as a family, but wouldn’t do it again.
Friendly knowledgeable host. Had a great time and left the driving to the experts. Lights and s’mores were the BEST!
The fact that we were not told there would be 90 minutes where we were left in Santa's village. The "refreshments" were ridiculous - 2 graham crackers, piece of chocolate, a marshmellow (in 1) and a stick (in 1) all to make s'mores but WHERE? The operator said nothing until we got in line to enter the park. No comments about the city (though later he said he did the city tour).
My sister and I recently toured the Festival of Lights on Adventure Tours. What an incredible experience. The night was rainy, and there were only three of us, but tour was not canceled. The rain did not affect the experience of heartwarming lights and animation that made us feel the excitement we knew as children. Wayne, our tour guide, made the experience extra special by his knowledge of the festival grounds along with bits of history from the area. Wayne is a true representative of southern hospitality and charm. I would highly recommend this tour! And Wayne!
My wife and I took our 6 month old son to the Festival of Lights tonight and it truly exceeded our expectations. What truly helped to enhance our experience was Wayne who drove us to and took us through the festival. He is extremely knowledgeable of the area and also the festival. The festival had a ton of lit up attractions and was quite the spectacle. We also got to enjoy a turkey leg and s’mores. At the end of the night Wayne took us right back to our hotel. Traveling with a 6 month old is tough enough and tonight was a complete success.
My family did the Holiday Festival of Lights on Wednesday, December 18 and Wayne was our tour guide. The whole experience was awesome. Wayne was such a great tour guide and made our family feel welcome. I definitely recommend this tour and guide. We love Charleston!
Holiday Lights are a wonderful way to put you in the holiday spirit. Wayne, our tour guide picked us up at our hotel and did an excellent job of giving information regarding the sights of the city. He was friendly and answered questions without hesitation. Since our group was small and the crowds were light the night we went Wayne was great about taking us around to see them twice!
The trip was great! Very nice set up of lights. The weather was perfect to walk around and enjoy the lights. Wayne the driver was fantastic n full of information from the lights n the city of Charleston. A true Charlestonian! I will recommend
Wade, our driver, did an excellent job explaining the history of the festival of lights. He was kind and generous. The festival of lights was an impressive local event. Children would find it especially magical.
Wayne was our tour guide and did an excellent job of giving information regarding the sights of the city. He was very friendly and answered questions without hesitation. The Holiday Lights were also good and Wayne was great about taking us around to see them twice. The only negative thing about the tour was the transportation. Instead of a bus, we had a van. While I can understand that a van was more cost effective for approximately 12-14 people, this group was older and there were physical disabilities which made getting on and off the van difficult. In addition, it was also difficult to be able to see all the lights from the smaller windows. Other than this, we enjoyed the excursion.
Great commentary by our friendly and amazingly informative driver and guide, Bill. Enjoyed our evening, the lights are truly amazing, a fairyland with over two million lights and 80-90 displays. Kids will be awestruck!! The tour includes smores that you can toast and eat over campfires in the park. The ride is delightful, especially the courtesy of the guide who dropped us at our hotel..so appreciative after a long day out.
