I really enjoyed my time on the walking tour with Eric. He is so knowledgeable about the history of Charleston and knowing I am from Maryland he was able to tie in pertinent details and make connections. I really enjoyed all of the interesting architectural facts as well as his emphasis on all of the important roles the European and Island settlers made in the conception of the city as well as his high lighting the importance of the African enslaved peoples in building and maintaining The city. I did not know that Charleston was a leading rice grower prior to the Industrial Revolution- so many interesting tid bits. Thanks so much, Eric! I can’t wait to take this with my husband the next time we visit.

Eric was awesome. He knows so much about Charleston’s history and the History of the country in general which made for very interesting conversations. The tour was casual with room for lots of questions and tangents, which I really enjoyed. I would definitely do it again the next time I come back.
Fantastic and educational tour given by Eric. Did NOT feel “canned” or rehearsed at all.
We did the Charleston walking tour with Eric from Free Tours by Foot early in our visit, and it turned out to be a really great way to start our time in the city. Eric was knowledgeable and easy to listen to, and the tour felt well paced and thoughtfully put together. We came away with a much better understanding of Charleston and its history, plus useful local context that shaped the rest of our trip. I’d happily recommend this tour to family and friends.
We loved touring Charleston with Eric! This was the first thing we did in the city and it was a great pick to get started. Not only was Eric very kind and accommodating to everyone in the group, he was also very knowledgeable and clearly adapted the tour based on what everyone was interested in. We enjoyed strolling the side streets and getting bits of background about everything we were seeing. Thanks for an amazing tour!
Our guide, Eric, was one of the most knowledgeable and kind guides we’ve ever had during a walking tour. Super informative and took time to answer everyone’s questions. Thank you!

Our guide, Eric Wright, asked our group where we were from and other questions. He tailored our tour to how we responded. We had an amazing tour with so much information. After the tour, Eric also gave us recommendations for restaurants and other places to see. We were greatly impressed!

I love this tour in Charleston. Diana made everyone feel welcome and as if we were hanging out with local friends. She was able to bring us into a few churches and gave us great recommendations for where to eat after. It was a really enjoyable introduction to the city.
Guide was very knowledgeable and provided in-depth information of everything that we saw. He tailored the tour to our interest and provided a lot of information. Would highly recommend taking a tour with Eric.
It was a lot of fun! Our guide was very knowledgeable and made the tour very fun and personal. Our group was small, under 20, so we got to get a feel for each other's personalities and interests, too, even though that wasn't a focus of the tour at all. Very memorable!
The guide was very knowledgeable about the architecture of the city. He gave wonderful examples and pointed out details. He also knew a lot about the history of the city. He was also knowledgeable about flowers but unfortunately we did not visit one garden and you really had to ask many questions about the plants, whereas he offered information about the architecture. When I asked about gardens he said I could go on my own. I did and the gardens were messy or non-existent. So the description of the tour is deceptive. If it was only advertised as an architect tour it would be awesome, but DON'T go on this tour expecting gardens.
Eric provided an informative and personalized walking tour, perfectly suited for our small group. His tailored approach made exploring Charleston’s rich history and architecture a truly engaging experience. I’d definitely recommend it!
Experienced educated guide. Great story teller. Knowledge about the local history. Personable and friendly.
Eric was amazing! We just had to tell him what were enjoyed learning about and he made sure to include more of that. Charleston is one of my favorite east coast towns and I learn something new every time I visit. I’ve taken this tour a few times and we always see slightly different things because the guides tailor the tour. They know so much!

Meet Eric at Washington Park. Very clear joining instructions. Informative tour of Charleston Eric was very knowledgeable and clearly loves the city Tour lasted just over 2 hours. Returning to the start point. Not very strenuous walking. Charleston is a very flat city.
Eric was an amazing and engaging tour guide! We learned a lot about Charleston’s history and it was fun to listen to stories about the SC flag, civil war and many of the downtown buildings. We go on many of these free tours around the world and this was one of the best! I rarely wrote reviews, however this was superlative. Thank you Eric!!
Eric was a very knowledgable guide and explained the history of Charleston with many interseting and entetaining details. We were only 7 people on a Sunday morning and he made the relaxed walk an unforgettable and personal experience. All questions, especially for my hobby for historic US and civil war flags, were answered in detail, which was impressive. It was obvious that he likes sharing his passion for the city and share it with visotors. My wife and I enjoyed this tour a lot and we can only recommend this tour and thank Eric again for this wonderful experience!

Very knowledgeable and able to answer our questions as well as providing interesting facts about the area and buildings. Would really recommend a tour with Diana to anyone visiting.
We went on the historical walking tour of Charleston with Eric. He knows everything about the history and culture in the city, and even though he must be getting the same questions over and over again, he still seems very interested in getting them and in answering them. We were only 6 people on the tour, and it felt like a leisure walk with family or friends just talking and learning a lot. We highly recommend this tour and especially Eric as the guide :)
