I went on the 2 hour Charleston historic walking tour with Al. Al was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable, authentic and as quick with a joke as he was a fact! Charleston is a beautiful town with an amazing history and this walking tour showcases it perfectly. I’d highly recommend for any first timers or returning visitors as there is plenty to learn. Thnx Al - great job

We enjoyed walking tour in historic Charleston. Our guide Mark was knowledgeable and had interesting stories to share with us.
Al gave a fun informative tour. He was friendly and kind and moved the tour at a good pace. He even showed us a few “off the beaten path” locations. Really like the tour.
The tour guide Evan was phenomenal. Original Charlestonian with an insane amount of knowledge. Funny, professional and ask anything you want. Its a great walking tour!
Great tour! Evans was an excellent tour guide, very knowledgeable and entertaining. Only (very) slight drawback was that if you weren't a student of US history, some of the detailed historical narrative could be a bit difficult to follow/process. But it didn't detract from the overall experience.
Don’t take this tour with tour guide Al if you want to see more than just historic homes. Would have wanted to see more of a variety of sites than just the architecture.
Very enjoyable tour. Al was extremely informative and had a sense of humor, which we all enjoyed. H Took us to some of the main sites to see, as well as some off the beaten path. I highly recommend this tour.
Al did an excellent job very knowledgeable of the historical history and architecture of the area highly recommend
No water or bathroom. Other than that it was great. Very informative . Loved all the information and awesome stories.
We had a wonderful time on our walking tour of Charleston. Michael, our tour guide, was entertaining and incredibly knowledgeable about Charleston’s rich history. The tour went at a great pace and we learned so much. We highly recommend!
The guide was really knowledgeable and passionate!! Highly recommend! The tour delivered exactly what was promised!
Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable on the history of Charleston. We learned so much about its important place in the history of our country. Highly recommend the tour. Wish I could remember the tour guide’s name but we were in the 10:00 tour on Monday, November 2. We know his name was not Paul.
Mark Jones was a fantastic tour guide! We all learned so much on this walking tour. Such a beautiful & historical city!
Our guide did a great job. He’s very much a storyteller and a historian. He was open to questions… but by the end of the tour, every question had been answered. We came away with a greater interest in the history of Charleston, and thanks to him we are likely to return.
We weren't sure how interesting the tour would be for us but our tour guide Mark was wonderful. We learned a lot of interesting details about Charleston that we wouldn't have guessed ahead of time. Great tour, highly recommend.
10am tour guide of downtown Charleston was very knowledgeable and had great sense of humor. Like the level of detail you get with this tour.
We had a wonderful time on our waking tour of Charleston! Our tour guide, Al, was funny, entertaining, and incredibly knowledgeable about Charleston’s rich history. The tour was engaging, informative, and full of interesting stories that brought the city’s past to life. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Charleston.
Al was a fantastic tour guide. He was engaging, interesting and had a wealth of knowledge about Charleston. The entire tour was great but especially getting to see some sites which were off the main tourist sites was very interesting. Highly recommend the tour and if you can get Al as your guide even better!
Great tour, great guide! Worth every penny. Will definitely do it again!
This a great tour. Would definitely recommend. Al our tour guide was great. He was knowledgeable and you could tell he lived and cared about Charleston. Learned so much history and facts we could never learn just walking around this beautiful city.
If you like history and architectural marvels of Charleston this is a great tour for you. Our guide Duggar, was very interesting and informative and easy to listen too.
Guide was very knowledgeable and knew his history. Would have gotten a 5 star review but the guide made some snide comments to the group, for example when my husband pointed out that he had a walk sign on the crosswalk, he made a snide comment, not in a nice way, " you are one of those guys". Also when questions were asked, he would give an answer and say just kidding, being facetious. He was a nice guy but his personality was a little off for me.
The guide Evans was passionate about Charleston and quite knowledgeable. Also willing to take questions from the group. We were walking/ standing most of the time. Evans did have one sitting break about halfway through
Our tour guide Mike was exceptional! His knowledge, personality, attention to questions asked was spot on! We could have listened to him for hours. The History of Charleston and how everything is maintained to remain the same is impressive.
Lots of history in this two hour walking tour. Amy was a passionate and exuberant guide with an obvious love of history.
Evans was an excellent guide. Extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. I would highly recommend this tour
Amy was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Charleston and shared entertaining historical trivia with the group. We appreciated her sharing some worthwhile places to visit in Charleston for the duration of our trip, and also her knowledge of indigenous plants and trees. Take the tour at the beginning of your visit to Charleston and you will have a list of places to visit for the duration of your trip.
Amy was an excellent guide with so much knowledge of the city’s history. She answered everyone’s questions and had excellent stories to tell as well! It was a fun tour and would recommend it
This is a great tour with an overview of Charleston’s history would highly recommend doing this early in your visit Duggar was our guide and he did a great job and offered many recommendations for historic houses museums and restaurants to visit
Amy's historical knowledge was incredible!! Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Would definitely recommend this! Thank you!
Al was a great tour guide. Knowledgeable and humorous. We learned a lot and saw places we never would have seen on our own.
Al is a great source of knowledge about the Charleston area. Highly recommended. It was always interesting and he is a fantastic guide!
Dugger was wonderful. Very much enjoyed.
Al did a great job of showing us around the city and informing us of the history of Charleston. Awesome tour!
Amy was great! Knowledgeable, personable and funny . You could see and feel this was her passion. Our first time in Charleston, what amazing history, beautiful city, we will tell our friends to visit this city and learn about it’s history
Charleston is beautiful! Guidelines Amy was great!
Al was excellent! Very knowledgeable and entertaining! He had a good route planned and adjusted as necessary.
Dennis gave a wonderful tour!! Great way to see and learn about Charleston's history!! Great experience :)
I’ve taken two walking tours with Walks of Charleston. They were quite different but both were excellent. Al led the one we took this time and I’d highly recommend him. He was deeply versed in the history of the area south of broad but paid particular attention to architecture, formal and quirky, making a point of taking us into alleys and streets off the beaten path (I think I was on the beaten path during my first tour). He was also funny. I highly recommend him. Though I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the guides with Walks of Charleston.
An excellent 2 hr tour with views of the historic district. See many of Charlestons oldest buildings. Mark the tour guide was exceptional and very thorough.
Michael was outstanding! Great to learn so much about Charleston from a true local. Nice easy two hour tour.
Lots history. Need to really like history to be on this tour. Walk was great and got to see a lot Charleston this way downtown.
Al was an excellent guide with a great balance between chat and facts. He really brought the city to life and took us to some places we would never have found as well as showing us the highlights
Al did a wonderful job guiding us through Charleston. He was very knowledgable about the history of Charleston and LOVED being a tour guide. We had phenomenal weather, so that didn’t hurt! It was a perfect lengthen experience and he included some creative side treks which were so interesting.
Charming, entertaining and informative. I booked online an hour before the tour and had such an enjoyable time. This is a wonderful way to get a feel for the history of the city and so much more. Our guide, Al, was knowledgable, entertaining and so very nice. His delivery was unrushed and didn’t feel canned. I wish I had time to do the tour over again.
This tour had just the right amount of walking distance and talking by tour guide Mark. Lots of historical info without getting boring. Super interesting how Charleston was founded, and different stages of its development. Pointed to other museums and sites that would be good for follow up. Our group really enjoyed it!!
Excellent tour of Charleston Architecture. Saw some beautiful areas of the city. Highly recommend if first visit to Charleston. Our tour guide Al was very knowledgeable and fun to be with.
Duggar was an excellent guide and we would request him again! All aspects of tour exceeded our expectations.
Our guide, Evan, was extremely knowledgeable and covered much of the history of the area and the previous residents that shaped Charleston.
Terrific introduction to old Charleston. Our guide was a veritable font of information and packed a lot into a two hour tour. Highly recommend
