As a lifelong Charleston resident our guide was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant. Would highly recommend this tour to a first time visitor to acquaint yourself with the City.
Duggar was a great guy who had lots of historic and cultural knowledge of Charleston. He told humorous stories about his upbringing in the south and seem to know just about everyone on the streets.
Was a great tour! Sam was a fantastic guide. Learned a lot and saw so many amazing buildings & ally ways . Definitely a great say to see Charleston and hear all about its history.
It’s very informative. Our tour guide was excellent. It was a great way to see Charleston and learn about different things.
Best possible way to see the wonderful city of Charleston. Walking and seeing things close up make it all come to life. Best decision on our great trip 🌟♥️👏
Tour was conducted by a local resident with a lot of knowledge of the area and it’s history. We have been to Charleston many times, now we have a few new alleys to walk.
Hidden Alleyways & Historic Sites Walking tour was fantastic and Duggar "Coach" was possibly the best guide we've ever experienced. We saw so many beautiful spots we would have walked right past on our own. Duggar's extensive knowledge and pure excitement and passion for the history of Charleston was a joy to experience. His understanding of the families that now occupy the historical homes brought history right to the present. Great job Coach!
We had great weather, the small group met and left on time. My only comment would be that we ran into other groups taking up sidewalk space at the same locations. This may have caused us to miss some content. I felt the tour was a bit light on history, interesting architectural facts and energy. The guide was good, knowledgeable, and friendly.
We had a great walking tour of the Charleston French Quarter district and surrounding with Jim. Very talented and informative guide that did not leave out any details. Highly recommended.
We went into spaces around Charleston that we never would have noticed and we learned a lot about the history of the city.
David was our tour guide for this tour. He is a native Charestonian. He took us down small alleys that you didn’t even know was there. David was very knowledgeable of the history of Charleston. We had a family who had someone in a wheelchair and he was very considerate if an alley was too narrow they could not go down and gave another alternative path. When booking this tour look for the one that state Walks of Charleston as they only use tour guides who were born and raised in Charleston. Highly recommended this tour.
David was so knowledgeable and personable. We learned quite a bit of history and loved seeing the sights of Charleston.
I would highly recommend this your! Our guide, David, was extremely knowledgeable about the history and architecture of the city, and we learned alot from him. If you're a first-time visitor, this tour is a must! David did not disappoint.
You will learn about the history of many charming homes and other buildings. If you are lucky enough to get Evans, you will get some botany education ( many of the plants you see growing everywhere in Charleston are not native to the area). Most notable to me was the unadulterated history of Robert Smalls and other lessor figures in Charleston/S.C. history. History directly told with no sugar coating and might make the unenlightened a little sqeemish. So keep an open mind. Loved it 6 out out of 5 stars!!!
This tour was so informative and interesting! We loved learning about the history of the places we walked through, and our guide had an incredible wealth of knowledge and anecdotes to share. Highly recommend taking this tour early in your visit to Charleston so you can better appreciate all the city has to offer!
An enjoyable, leisurely 2-hour stroll through Charleston’s iconic historic neighborhoods; led by knowledgeable & enthusiastic guides who entertain as well as inform. Convenient parking and meeting locations—Bay Street shops, restaurants, and the Market nearby. We particularly appreciated the small group format & tour time options. And, the online booking & payment processes are easily accomplished. Thank you!
Very fun tour. Our guide David was great, he’s a wealth of knowledge about this beautiful city! Highly recommend
Oct 2026 Our guide Duggar was like a modern day “trail blazer “ leading his 2026 colonists to both picturesque and historic highlights of the “Holy City”. His charming personality and his keen insights of the history of the city enhanced our fondness for this very special city Duggar was a total pleasure and anyone would be lucky to be one of his colonists
Fantastic tour with David . Loved the historical stories and walks in some alleyways that we didn’t know about.
The tour was wonderful, though I wish we could have gotten a little more of the history throughout. Our guide seemed knowledgeable, but was more focused on his history in the area.
Wow. I wish I had a better memory. Duggar was a fountain of information, interspersed with a great sense of humor. His pace was perfect along with concern for all of us. I would love to take another tour with him.
We had a very knowledgeable tour guide, and I felt like we received our money’s worth. I especially appreciate it that we were in shaded areas on the tour since it was a very sunny day. Charleston has a wealth of history.
Great little tour, very informative. I liked the small group size, as we could all easily hear what was being said. Great job explaining the history of Charleston.
Evans was a very knowledgeable guide and host. Really appreciated the brief history learned while on the tour.
Very educational on the history of Charleston. Bruce - our guide was very good and knew all there is to know about Charleston!
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour. We debated booking it, but were so glad we did. Duggar was our guide and he was fantastic! We learned so many things we wouldn't have known going around Charleston ourselves. We really enjoyed all his stories!
Our guide,Duggar, was a modern day “trail blazer “leading the 2026 colonists to the many picturesque spots in the “Holy City.” His keen insight and oersonal charm engaged the group for the entire tour. No one left the tour without an appreciation of this great city of Charleston . Thanks for a terrific tour! caren and richard
David was entertaining and excellent! Good information on the tour. Not a long walk and covered a lot of information regarding Charleston.
Phil was an excellent tour guide. You knew so much about the city and made it come alive. He answered all her questions with humor and friendliness. One of the wonderful things about this Tour is that you get free shuttle service for two days afterwards. I highly recommend this tour.
We had an informative and entertaining tour with Duggar Baucom. Highly recommend requesting him as a tour guide!
This was a wonderful tour. Michael Collins was an exceptional guide who gave us a great history lesson of the area. His knowledge and humor kept us engaged. We loved the local spots that were chosen to be shared with us.
Our guide, David, was very knowledgeable, entertaining and informative. He paced the presentation well and fielded questions willingly. It was the perfect first activity for our Charleston visit.
This tour was awesome. Our tour guide, Mr Byrd, knows everything about Charleston, its history, architecture, and even the bushes,, trees and plants we experienced along the way. It was 2 of the most informative hours we could’ve spent here!
Highly recommend this guide, Evans. Extreme knowledge, tongue in cheek delivery but all true and accurate. Multigenerational Charleston and based roots. Excellent!
Evans was well versed about the history of Charleston. Beyond the dates and facts, though, was his intimate knowledge of the city. He knew so much about the alleys, the fauna and greenery, and the people who helped shape the city, especially the unsung heros who deserve recognition. His passion for the city’s history is apparent. You can tell how much he loves Charleston. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and learned so much.
Mark was very knowledgeable about all things Charleston! I learned a lot on this tour and it allowed me to see things that i wouldn't have as I explored on my own.
Great tour! Very informative and fun. An incredible amount of history was covered in a short amount of time. So much to absorb.
David was a great tour guide! Very insightful and well versed in Charleston history. It's worth it..
This tour was so much fun, even though it rained for most of it! Mark was extremely engaging and knowledgeable about all the locations we stopped at. There was never a dull moment, and it is truly a great way to not only see Charleston but also learn a lot about its history. I highly recommend this tour and definitely would take it again the next time I am in town!
Excellent, informative and fun! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area. He personalized the tour and shared so much information.
Mark was very knowledgeable about the city’s history. We enjoyed the well-paced tour. Would recommend to anyone looking to learn about Charleston.
It was a wonderful two-hour tour. I would encourage everyone to take it in - a lot of facts and information presented in a great way.
Our tour was great. I have been on walking tours before but this one was unique because you take short cuts through alley ways while learning parts of Charlestons history along the way. The tour was packed with information I had never learned on our other tours in Charleston. Sam was a great guide!
Mark was an outstanding tour guide! He was entertaining, with so much history to share. We saw some amazing alleyways and historic sights!
Excellent walking tour with Coach Duggar. Being a local, he’s very knowledgeable and entertaining, factual and friendly, and he made it very enjoyable. Small group of seven made it easy to hear and stay together.
The tour was wonderful and our guide made it very interesting and fun. Mark was energetic, very knowledgeable, and you could tell he loved his job.
Knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide
Michael Collins was a great guide. Born and raised in Charleston so he knew a lot of history and local facts. He also kept things moving so we finished on time which we appreciated.
Our guide was so impressive with his knowledge of the cities past. It was very informative and I would take this same tour again.
