We had such a fun time, saw lots of dolphins, learned a ton about the water and area & Captain Luke was outstanding!!!
This was an enjoyable experience with Captain Luke who has 20 years experience around these waters. He is well versed in the history, seamanship required, and the best locations to spot the dolphins in the area - and we spotted many. We learned about oyster beds and crab pots - each pot set with a personal identification marker (buoy). When you finish a stop at the food truck with fresh fish for lunch is a must.
7 family members, 68-2yrs. Every one enjoyed it, including the littles. Would definitely recommend!!!
Captain Luke was fantastic! He was knowledgeable of the area and very informative. We would absolutely take the your again !
The Tour exceeded all expectations. Capt. Luke was wonderful. Learned a lot about dolphins (who knew they have such complex brains), oysters, grasses, mud and history in a fun and engaging way. I highly recommend this tour. Capt. Luke is the owner/proprietor of his boat and really cares about the estuary and all the living things in it.
It is a small group. It is an open boat. We rode out to Morris Island lighthouse. The guide explained the ecosystem of the estuary. We saw lots of dolphins. The best tour of our Charleston experience. Luke did a great job.
I had a fantastic time! Hailey was exceptionally knowledgeable and provided a great experience! Thx!
This adventure was so enjoyable! Saw many dolphins and learned so much about “the sea “ world. Giving Captain Luke a 5+!
It was informative and just being able to see the beauty of the area and nature up close was an experience. Luke was our Captain and he was a 10 out of a 10! Hailey at the sign in was so sweet and friendly!
Very comfortable boat with easy access Tremendous fun due to our captain who shared very interesting information and history. 20 dolphins in very close to boat….loads of photo opportunities. Morris Island Lighthouse was really neat to see from as close as we were. A must do excursion while staying at Folly.
Great experience and highly recommend! Our captain was very knowledgeable and sweet. If you want to learn about the nature and ecosystem of the aquaculture in this area, this is the best tour! 10/10!
Captain Luke was very knowledgeable about the environment and interesting and we saw many dolphins. Beautiful at sunset.
Our family of eight including our two grandchildren aged two and four absolutely loved this trip. Captain Luke was so informative, funny and knowledgeable. We learned so many interesting facts about the area, the oyster population and the dolphins. We saw an unbelievable amount of dolphins including a new baby and mother. Every one of us thoroughly enjoyed the trip.
Highlight of our trip! Captain Luke was personable and knowledgeable. Saw way more dolphins than expected. We had a great time!
Fantastic experience from start to finish. Captain Luke was a perfect mix of entertaining and educational.
Really fun and relaxing trip, super knowledgeable and easy going guide. Definitely would go again!
We had the best time exploring the Folly beach Estuaries. Luke was a fantastic tour guide. He was beyond knowledgeable about the history and local Wildlife/ecosystem. We saw 7 or 8 different groups of dolphins and learned about each one. He explained why each dolphin was where they were and what they were doing (fishing for small fish at the mouth of a river as the tides came down for example). He found the perfect spot for a great family picture with the lighthouse in the background. If we wanted to see it- Luke made it happen. Easily worth 80-90 dollars per person. We felt like criminals for getting to do the exclusion for as cheap as we did. A must-do for us next time we are in Charleston.
Capt. Luke was very informative all throughout the 90 minute tour. He truly cared about his job and made the trip very enjoyable for all.
Luke did a fantastic job. We so enjoyed the tour. It was very interesting and educational. We had a blast. Plenty of dolphins also.
Our captain Luke was so knowledgeable. He’s obviously worked these waters for some time. We saw at least 20 dolphins and many had names. I learned so much about the estuary life. Will do it again
So enjoyable. Nature lovers will love this. Sunset was so beautiful. So many dolphins encountered. Guide gave us so much info
The Captain provided a great experience during the dolphin tour. We learned some history, some biological information, and enjoyed a peaceful morning in the water. Saw lots of dolphins, including some small ones that were born recently. It was clear that the Captain knows the waters and the dolphins very well. Highly recommend!!
This is a great tour and you can get up close to many dolphins! We learned lots from Captain Luke, he’s super knowledgeable and great fun.
Our guide (Luke) was super knowledgeable, and the dolphins put on a show for our small group! The waters were very clam which made the ride very enjoyable.

We took our first tour with Castaway this summer. It certainly will not be our last. Hailey is a dream for the bookings and questions. You can book online and sign the waivers electronically before you arrive. Captain Luke is very knowledgeable of our waterways and gives you as much or as little information as the group feels like digesting. He’s eager to answer any questions and to make sure that you have a fabulous boat trip. Don’t hesitate to book with Castaway for your Folly River adventure.
Fantastic tour and fantastic captain! Many dolphin sightings, and very accommodating to our 4 year old and airborne hats.
We loved our tour with Captain Luke, he was very knowledgeable with calm personality. We saw around 20 dolphins and a beautiful sunset. 🌅 🐬
Captain Luke was very funny and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed it. We saw plenty of dolphins. Very nice tour.
Captain Luke was very well informed and we learned a lot about the ecosystem. We didn’t know prior to the tour about all of the area history.
Absultely perfect, many dolphins and beautiful views. Your guide was personable, up beat, involved each person on the tour in shaping the topics of his present. Tackled topics of interest without any difficulty. Knew science, history, sociology, and human interest. Highly recommend.
Our Captain was phenomenal! He shared a plethora of information about the marine life, ecosystem, and history. He also had a charming sense of humor. We had a relaxing & enjoyable time on the water.
Very knowledgeable. Capt Luke was a very good tour boat operator. Lots of local knowledge. Easy to find easy to get on
We saw many dolphins and learned so much about the ecosystem from our captain. Paired with the sunset and the views of the lighthouse this tour shouldn't be missed. It was one of our last stops in Charleston that I'm glad we didn't skip.
We saw so many Dolphins. Our tour guide Luke was funny & had our kids laughing while learning so much about the marine life.
You will see loads of wildlife on this excursion as well as gain some knowledge about the areas various functions and its history. I thinks most people come for the dolphins and we saw probably over 20. If you come in the summer you’ll probably see new babies. They have a resident population that always hangs out here so I doubt you could ever go and not see dolphins. We also saw lots of birds for any fellow birders out there. My captain, Haley, was very knowledgeable, personable, and friendly.
Great boat tour and captain was very knowledgeable of area.
This was a great tour, Luke was awesome, we saw lots of dolphins and learn so many fun facts from Luke
The dolphin watching tour was phenomenal. I would highly recommend it. Captain Luke was amazing and kept us entertained the whole 90 minutes. We saw many dolphins and my 5 year old was beyond delighted. Would recommend 100%!
Our favorite activity during our trip to Charleston! My toddlers loved it. Fun for all ages and the tour guide customized it to the groups interests.
Captain Luke was very informative. Had a great personality and filled as full of a lot of fun facts and definitely some new things that we didn’t know about the area. Absolutely loved our tour got to see the dolphins. I’m actually even got to stop and jump in the water for just a second and that was really nice. He’s very passionate and you can tell he really loves what he does!
Fun experience to see dolphins! Educated and fun guide! Getting caught in a big rain storm was somewhat magical!
Great experience for the whole family! Personalized for our interests. Accessible for older folks with canes/walkers. Captain Luke took the time to explain the ecology of the area in a fun and enlightening way. Would highly recommend.
