This tour is a gem—don’t miss it!
Guide was fabulous!!! Really enjoyed experience
It’s just about the right length for a trolley tour and the two main stops were informative and timely.
Very educational experience from an extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour guide! The adults and children in our party enjoyed it!
Katherine was very informative and knew everything. Very interesting and enjoyable experience. Definitely recommend
Katherine is absolutely so knowledgeable and personable and this is a fantastic tour! do not miss it!
Overall okay. Speaker informative. It would be helpful if there was a handout highlighting the WWII experience in Myrtle Beach. So much more to the story. I would suggest pads for the hardwood seats.
We returned to take a different themed trolley from the same operator because we were so impressed with our first tour. The narrator did not disappoint and were again impressed with her wealth of knowledge which flowed effortlessly for over two hours. The second tour was entirely different from the first which also impressed us. This is a must do if you are in Myrtle beach.
This is a first class activity for anyone. We have done the Movies and Music tour in the past and this one was just as good.
Fun, informative tour with articulate, enthusiastic and engaging guide. If you think Myrtle Beach has always been just a tourist town you'll quickly learn otherwise.
Tour guide provides insightful details that one does not normally get on a tour. These details made the tour even more enjoyable.
Excellent tour director. She knew a lot about the history of Myrtle Beach and she was passionate about sharing the history. I enjoyed learning the history from her.
Ok, but would not choose this tour again. Tour guide was ok, but not what we expected. Good scenery.
We enjoyed our tour with Catherine as she was so informed but added a bit of humor. She made sure to speak clearly and slowly enough for everyone to hear.
A diamond in the rough tour! We’ve gone to Myrtle Beach for years and never knew the history of this wonderful place! Touring the area we know, with fresh eyes on its history was awesome! Kathryn our tour guide was so invested in the area history and did a phenomenal job welcoming visitors and guiding us through the creation of Myrtle Beach! Highly recommend this tour!
Excellent overview of the history in Myrtle Beach. The tour was well organized, and our guide was very informative. We especially enjoyed hearing about how Myrtle Beach was developed and the key role it played in world war 2. Highly recommend!
Very knowledgeable tour guide. Learned quite a bit about the Myrtle Beach area history. Space in the trolly car was really tight but we were forewarned about that.
Relaxing trolly tour narrated in the early years of Myrtle Beach. 2 stops with one being at the Pine Lakes Country Club.
Very informative. Superb tour guide! I highly recommend this tour!!! We learned so much in the 2 hours. Could have listened for another 2! Will suggest this tour to our friends.
The guide did an excellent job. She had perfect timing on the places we saw as we passed by. She was very knowledgeable and professional. Well done.
We were disappointed the trolley tour was cancelled, not enough people registered, however, was highly recommended we see the black school, it was on my bucket list as am a past teacher, very interesting and displays were well done, wish we had had more time there. The tour guide was excellent, Sherry, very open to questions, and then she told us it was her first day! We told her she deserved an A! Learned alot, especially inventions made by the black people, and information on the segregation.
The woman who led the tour was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the history of the area. The tour of the historic Colored School was fabulous! Very compelling and thought provoking. We learned SO much about US history.
Your was great and informative. Tour trolley was poor. The a/c did not work. This made the tour uncomfortable. Numerous people agreed.
The tour guide should get a high rating for her extensive history of Myrtle Beach. Perhaps more general would be acceptable also, to enable perhaps another 15 minutes to explore “The Colored School” with its rich AfricanAmerican history. The day is very hot, increasingly so. Many people on the tour were senior citizens. Many with it’s chronc health conditions. Not acceptable that the windows were opened at beginning of tour-made the bus hotter. The AC was only blowing hot air. Oppressive. It was mentioned “we’ll adjust the temperature as we go along.” That did not happen. It only got hotter. Had we known this we would not have gone on this tour. It is enough to make one ill actually.
I am not a native but I have been here 30 years. Yet I learned many things about Myrtle Beach that I didn't know and saw many places I had never been. Our guide Kathryn was amazing and I plan to do all the other tours. One thing, bring a jacket as the trolley was chilly!
A great way to learn about how Myrtle Beach was involved with WWII. Katherine is a great tour guide and full of information.
Immaculate trolley - outstanding tour guide who was extremely knowledgeable. Very detailed and interesting military historical tour of Myrtle Beach - as well as wonderful trip to Black museum which was a bonus! Humbling to learn the black educational history of Myrtle Beach area, taking place in the original one room school house that was used for many years.
Learning about German pow camp. Visit to the colored school. I found it interesting that the first issue of sports illustrated was printed in myrtle beach and cost 25 cents.
Kathryn is so knowledgeable and great at sharing the history. She is passionate about local history and it shows.
The tour was exceptionally well done. It was informative and entertaining, the route was interactive w/ enough stops to allow guests to move around and see subject matter up close. It will be a highlight of our trip.
The History Tour was amazing and our guide was the best we have ever had. She exploded with her in-depth knowledgeable. We learned so much in the 2 hour tour. I would recommend to all who visit Myrtle Beach.
Really enjoyed hearing and seeing all the history of Myrtle Beach. The trolley was very comfortable and perfect for viewing everything.
For those who are interested in history you will find an incredible researcher and tour leader in Kathryn Hedgepath. Kathryn doesn't merely lead the tour she captures the spirit of the times in her narration. She has personally researched the details of the trip distinguishing beliefs from facts. The stops are diverse and the untold history of Myrtle Beach is fascinating - with the stop at the Historic Myrtle Beach Colored School Museum a must in these times of heated political debate. A tour that both informs and makes you think about who is ally and who is enemy.
Our guide’s knowledge was exceptional! She keep the tour very interesting. Well worth your time and money.
We liked visiting some historical sites; the Colored School narrator was so passionate about the school, the people who influenced him and all of the kids who attended. I also remember sitting in desks like that when I attended a one-room school house in PA. Good visit! The info about WWII prisoners of war, their impact on local economy and their realization about USA was a great history lesson! The guide knew her stuff and we liked that.
Excellent presentation and lots of great historical details. Very impressed with the presenter's extensive research and gained knowledge about the local history. This is one tour for the history books 🫡
Wonderful tour with our tour guide, Katherine! She shares a wealth of knowledge and makes the tour fun. Would highly recommend the tour.
Led by a true historian, this was one of the best historical tours I have taken. There was a true excitement about the topic and so throughly researched.. I would offer a suggestion to be at the pickup at 9:45. It wasn’t clear from the information I received.
Love the whole trip it was a great way to spend a few hours see and hearing about the history of Myrtle Beach
We were in Myrtle Beach for the week of Christmas and were looking for something to do. We have used this company before while visiting Alaska. We found this historical trolley tour. It was FANTASTIC!!!! Our tour guide, Katherine, was absolutely amazing (we joked amongst our party that we would love to spend the day with her going all around the town listening to all of the history that is hidden in her brain). She was so well spoken, a wealth of knowledge and overall just a friendly and professional tour guide! Highly recommend this tour if you are in the area and enjoy history.
Great tour! Very informative, Kathryn knows her MB history! This was the 2nd tour we’ve taken with her and plan to take her other tours too!
I loved learning history I had never heard anywhere else before. I hope to bring my son on this tour someday, as I have finally found something at the beach that will hold his interest. His caregiver will be visiting the beach next month, and I have already sent her information about the tours so that she and her family can go, too.
We were very impressed with The amount of information presented. The tour guide was very friendly and she was able to answer every question asked.
This was a great way to learn about the history of Myrtle Beach. My son and I enjoyed the tour and highly recommend it!
The tour guide Kathryn is phenomenal and a bundle of information. Absolutely recommend this tour and any other tours she offers. You will get a wealth of information.
The tour was a lot of fun and very interesting. We learned a ton about the history of Myrtle Beach, and the tour was connected with the history very well!
Comfortable trolly car, knowledgeable tour guide, great tour of the city in addition to learning about the history of the region. Disappointing that the German POWs were so embraced by the community considering what made them POWs in the first place!!
Very knowledgeable tour guide who was very passionate about the subject area. Driver was top rate as well.I would recommend this tour.
