An absolute must! It is one of the highlights of our trip every time we are in S.C.. Our guide Robert is so informative and enjoyable to listen to. The tour is so relaxing and Capers island is beautiful. A++++ all around! Don't miss it.

Itinerary
Join your naturalist on a search and discovery mission on this 2.5-hour boat excursion to encounter the fascinating bottlenose dolphin and loggerhead sea turtle. Bottlenose dolphins are a common resident of your salt marshes and inlets behind the barrier islands. As you observe the dolphins feeding, playing, or simply cruising around in their native environment, you will learn all about their social behavior, feeding habits, and much more. Also, learn about the life history of the threatened loggerhead sea turtle, which we often catch sight of during the summer months. You will also have about 1 hour to get off the boat and explore Capers Island's "Bone-yard Beach".

Both the Captain and Robert, the instructor on this trip were fantastic. They made learning fun. We saw several different kinds of wildlife and just at sunset coming back to shore saw a bowl of roseate spoonbills against the sunset. A perfect end to a lovely trip.
The guide was very knowledgeable and had a great style of presenting the information and very easy to listen too. The dog was sweet as well
Staff was wonderful informative I don’t think stopping at the barrier beach was great nothing to see
Great length and super informative guides. Capers island was beautiful. Great speed boat tour and way to get on the water. Would do again
We enjoyed the dolphin tour, the captain and our guide were awesome. We seen dolphins and the kids on the tour helped pull up a crab pot, there were crabs inside. The tour was fun and educational. We would love to go again.
Very good tour. Saw lots of dolphins and other wildlife. Jessum was very knowledgeable and entertaining.
Very knowledgeable guide and beautiful views! It was so fun to see several pods of dolphins! Our guide taught us about snails, grabs, different dolphins and even birds.
Great for the family to see what South Carolina is really about the beautiful wildlife! There was kids on our cruise that were not related to us, but they had a great time. We also had a great time learned a lot about the wildlife here and goat Island… Fascinating.! Robert and Megan were amazing!
What a lovely afternoon for an excursion! Our naturalist and driver were fun and informative. The boat is wheelchair accessible, but the island is not so plan to stay on the boat for that part of the tour if you are a wheelchair user. If you take a snack this would be a good time to eat it. Also if you sit on the outside on the right (starboard) side be prepared to get lots of salt spray in your face and hair on the return trip!
Robert and Justin were great and informative. Really fun with our two kids, a great way to start our trip!
Richard the captain is amazing- knows so much and makes it interesting and fun. He is so good with children!! What a fun trip to Capers island. We saw several pods of dolphins coming and going. The trip to the bone yard was fun and the sunset coming back was beautiful! Don’t think twice- take this trip - FUN
This is an INCREDIBLE tour and the value is amazing. My family of 8 (two small kids) went on a dolphin sunset eco tour and had so much fun. The kids were very entertained throughout, the stop on the island was so unique and the guide Mike was so informative and funny. Cannot recommend this tour enough!
We brought 4 out-of-state friends along and everyone loved it.
The evening dolphin trip was a highlight of our vacation in Charleston. It was a beautiful evening - saw lots of dolphins and sea birds. Enjoyed the walk on the beach and especially the crew who were a pleasure.
Fun way to get out on the water and see dolphins. The tour director educated us along the way and showed us interesting things.
Thoroughly enjoyed the Eco Tour. The knowledge displayed by both our guide and our captain was evidence of their passion for the subject and their multi-generational heritage in the area. Robert's humor kept everyone laughing, from toddlers to grandparents.
Nike, Michelle, and Shep were such great tour guides! We took the sunset/dolphin tour for my bachelorette party and that was the highlight of the trip for everyone! We learned a lot from the tour, and we loved getting off the boat at boneyard beach. We saw dolphins and an incredible sunset so the tour fulfilled it's promises and then some! Other sunset boat tickets were priced roughly the same, and we felt like the value we got out of this trip surpassed what those other boats could offer! We will definitely be back next time we are in town!
We took the Sunset Dolphin tour and it was awesome!! Our guide and boat driver were fantastic; both were kind, had senses of humor, were so knowledgable, taught us so much about the different wildlife we saw and were just as excited so see the dolphins and turtle as we were! It is obvious that they love the wildlife and their jobs!! The highlight of the tour was seeing the dolphins, but the whole tour was amazing! Capers Island was also beautiful as fun to explore. Would definitely recommend this tour!!
My family took a 2.5 hour tour to the shark hole to watch dolphins and birds ( spoonbills!) and to Capers Island for a walk with a naturalist, Diane, who explained what we were picking up, walking by, and seeing in the distance. Both Diane and Nikki, the boat’s captain, were friendly, knowledgable, and concerned that all tour guests were involved in learning. Boneyard Beach is an environmental work of art, whose creation was well explained by Diane. While on the boat, we stopped for Diane to raise a crabpot to show us stone crabs ready to lay eggs.
Excellent sunset cruise. We saw lots of dolphins. The walk along Capers Island was very nice. Great family evening event.
My family of four (two teens) had a wonderful time on the dolphin sunset cruise. Our guides were Michelle, (forgive me- half of the family says Nikki and the other half says Jessica), and good ole Shep which was a perfect boat dog! We saw so many dolphins and Michelle explained all about them-how deep they are diving and the difference in maternal pods and male pods. There was just enough “science” to not become a field trip. Our captain drove perfectly-times of fast peaceful driving and slowing down so everyone had a chance to see interesting sights. The time out on the island was perfect! Thanks for a great evening!!!
