Tour guide didnt hold back. There was no revisionary history just the complicated layered ugly fascinating and sometimes humorous truth.

Storytelling was witty, a lot of laughs and insightful about the darker underbelly of the city. No ghost stories

We had the pleasure of doing the Dark Side of Charleston tour with Bruce, and it was such a great experience! Not only was he *incredibly* knowledgeable about Charleston’s history, but you could tell he genuinely loves continuing to learn more about it himself, which made the tour even more fun! On top of that, he was hilarious and kept the whole group entertained the entire time. We did the 10 PM tour to be specific, which i feel only added to the dark lore. I would highly recommend booking a tour with Bruce if you’re considering it!

The tour was a lot of fun and we learned more about the history of Charleston... some things we wouldn't have learned on more traditional tours. David did a great job and we could hear him well through out the tour even without headsets. He is very knowledgeable on the history of Charleston. There were a couple of times on the tour when I had some trouble keeping track of who was who during his stories, but most of the time it was clear.

Great tour on New Year’s Eve to find out about the lesser known history of Charleston through storytelling and connections with the locations as we walked through the streets of Charleston.

Andrew did a great job on the tour. It was interesting hearing about the dark side of Charleston. Andre even had pictures to show us. Very informative

I love the weird side of history. Our tour guide was hilarious, informative, answered questions and gave us an amazing walking tour! My only complaint is I wish he was a little louder, because as we passed certain parts of the city, he was partially drowned out by the noises of the nightlife. Nothing drastic. I really enjoyed the tour, and I look forward to scheduling another one!

We had an excellent 10pm walk with Jade. She was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We always seek out the “dark” tours on all of our visits to charming Southern towns. This one did not disappoint. Book now!

Our guide, Bruce, was awesome! He was very funny and had a in-depth set of knowledge of Charleston and an interesting background in law enforcement himself, making this tour top-notch. We had a great group of people and really enjoyed that Bruce knew all the spots that wouldn't be crowded. Very knowledgeable. This specific tour was recommended to us and we will do the same!

Our tour guide, Dave, was energetic and excitedly invested in local history. Very enjoyable and paced nicely through the historic streets. Visitors Note this is NOT a ghost tour, much better

Terrible guide actual tour wasn’t what was in description one star over rated we walked away have gone on tours on 5 continents this was worse experience

Our guide, Jade? (I am terrible at remembering names) was fabulous! She was knowledgeable about the cities history. She was comfortable speaking about adult things and made me laugh a lot. I learned things that made me go 'WOW'. If you are ok with some adult language and topics I very much recommend this tour. You will learn things about some famous people that you don't learn in history class.

We enjoyed the "THIS IS NOT A GHOST TOUR" tour! This tour focused on the history of Charleston and our tour guide, Dave made this a fun and memorable experience. This tour was a great way to see Charelston and learn about the dark history!

We had Sarah as our tour guide on the after dark tour for 18+ and she was so fun! She was extremely knowledgeable about the topics she talked about and even when other guests asked questions not related to the tour she explained in detail. We loved that she genuinely enjoys her job. We definitely will be taking a tour with her again.

Joy was the absolute BEST! We laughed and laughed and her story telling was incredible. She made this a very memorable tour!

This is not a ghost tour and you'll be reminded of that several times. It was a fun way to learn about the seedier parts of Charleston's history. Not cheesy at all and the guide was well informed.

I took the 10pm Tour with Dustin on Sunday, November 10th. It was fantastic! A great way to see the city with more adult oriented stories. One of my favorite tours I've taken on my trip and already recommended to several friends. Great job!

This was definitely the best Charleston tour I've ever done (way better than a ghost tour). We had an awesome guide and a small group, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The only reason I deducted a star is because we initially booked our preferred day and time, and the company ended up cancelling because we were the only ones who booked. That feels pretty unprofessional, especially because their tours aren't cheap, and that's really not okay when you're catering primarily to tourists. Being local, we were able to reschedule, but it did mean we had to take this tour on a work night. Not ideal for a lot of people!

Dave was AWESOME. He was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He had TONS of information and all of it was really interesting.

Unfortunately I do not remember our tour guides name (no name tag) but he was incredible. Very funny and a great personality for the tour. He was very knowledgeable and did of good job of making the tour feel personable. It was a ton of fun.

This tour is not a ghost tour. They will tell you this 6 times before you start the tour. If you still complain that you thought it was a ghost tour, you're stupid. Don't like my bluntness or words I used, then don't go on this tour. It's rated R. There's swearing. There's crime, corruption and scandal. It was the best tour I've been on!! Our tour guide Bruce was so knowledgeable and funny. In fact we had such a great time on Wednesday night, we booked the Haunted Jail tour for Friday night.

We did the Dark Side of Charleston walking tour, and Randy was the absolute best. He was engaging, animated, and had a lot of anecdotes from his own experiences having grown up in Charleston. Really a great time. Tour was 1.5-2 hours and about no more than a mile walking. Highly recommend to anyone looking to hear some fun stories.

We were expecting our “Dark Side” tour to feature stories of crime, corruption, plagues, bordellos, gangsters, moonshine, illegal gambling, etc, much like other similar tours in other cities. Instead it was mostly a vulgarity-laced sex narrative. We bailed early and got a refund (to their credit, they issued the refund without objection). I give two stars instead of one because they encouraged people who were uncomfortable to go get a refund, and we did.

Our tour guide Ben was super awesome! He was knowledgeable and I'm very funny. He kept a really good pace. You definitely find out the dark side of Charleston and a lot of their leaders were not great people.

Randy was awesome! We learned so much! The tour was also a great way to see Charleston at night. We definitely recommend.

This had the potential to be really interesting based on other reviews and the description. While Braxton had some really great stories to tell he seemed to be trying too hard - my husband and are not strangers to "mature" topics or language, but Braxton seemed to just really go for the shock value of saying certain things which was really just a distraction because the stories are interesting and shocking on their own! Unfortunately, all of his stories were only focused on brothels and no other types of "darkness" like prohibition, etc. The concept is awesome - just needs a little work!

I would like to recommend the tour but I didn’t get to experience it. I thought that I had signed up for a 10 pm tour. But I missed the call saying they were departing on the 8 pm tour. I asked them if I could switch to the 10 pm and they said it was cancelled. I am asking if I can get a refund because Wednesday was the only evening we were available.

This is a fabulous tour. Getting to see the 'darker side' of Charleston with a great storyteller in Jack Kelly. He kept our group entertained and we learned so much that we are curious about exploring these stories even more! Highly recommended since it's fascinating and lasts 90 minutes which is just perfect. Not the usual and that's what made it so wonderful!

Dave was an excellent storyteller! I learned a lot.I don’t know why people are so hung up on ghosts when the actual history is so fascinating.

Want a tour about murderers/gangsters. Then this is not your tour. The only stories told were about prostitutes. The tour guide was great but not a variety of crime stories. Only prostitutes and brothels.

The talk about the prostitutes, and the dueling were very interesting and contains a lot of facts. We were not aware of. It was very well done.

Our guide was great. Knowledgeable, friendly and answered all the questions that we had. We had such a great time and learned a lot. We are still talking about what we learned during the tour.

Our guide, Bruce, was very knowledgeable and told great stories. We did struggle to keep up with the group - my wife had an injured leg. Overall, very good tour.

Zack, our guide, did a wonderful job. He made the tour so interesting, great stories. We learned so much about the seedier side of Charleston. Highly recommend. You’ll have a greater appreciation of life in early Charleston
