Found this tour through TripAdvisor. It was easy to book and I arrived at the Charleston Visitors Center and located the tour bus easily. The tour was excellent with lots of educational information while saving me time of trying to figure things out on my home. Our guide Anderson was a great guide and brought plenty of humor into the tour. He provided us with great insights on where to visit and where to eat. Not one time did he ask for a tip or mention that he works on tips. There is a tip bag posted upfront and he leaves it up to you. This is one of the best tours I’ve been on.
Anderson was a delightful guide with extensive knowledge of Charleston. I would suggest you take this tour when you first arrive so you can decide what area you’d like to revisit.
A great way to get to know Charleston and related pieces of history. Would recommend.
The WORST I have ever been on!!! It was a hot and humid day and the bus AC did not work!!! Driver said he was sorry. He did a great job but the entire tour was miserable. I would expect the company to either change our bus or offer a refund or at least an apology. NOTHING!! Go elsewhere, anywhere but with this company. Sadly we wanted to enjoy a tour but that did not happen.
We set up three tour activities for our visit to Charleston. Viator was easy to use, clear, responsive. Everything went exactly as planned. I will use them again. Next time I travel.
The city tour was a great introduction to Charleston and Scott was great, the bus itself was very comfortable and had huge windows making it super easy to take photos. It rained the day we went so it was nice knowing we can still sightsee and not get wet from the rain!
Anderson was a great guide. Fun n knowledgeable! So enjoyed his stories n see the town. Beautiful town !
The bus tour only last 65 min instead of 90 min as advertised. Didn’t get any photo stop. Hard to see outside or take pics inside that small minivan. So 40$ per person is a rip off.
Luke was an excellent guide. His knowledge coupled with his humor made this tour extraordinary. We definitely recommend this tour for everyone.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable of the tour stops. He brought energy to his presentation. He stopped at many locations to tell more about location. I would definitely recommend this tour.
It was a very good tour to get an idea of all the great things to do and see in the city of Charleston. However, it was often difficult to understand/hear the end of sentences. We always like to take a city tour at the beginning of each trip if available.
Anderson was very knowledgeable about the minutiae of Charleston. We'll spoken and friendly. Highly recommend.
It did not hold my attention. It was very hard to get into the van. The isle was very narrow. My husband and I had been at pickup location where I was told the van would be parked. Butl I was still last on the bus because the van was back further than I thought he would be. But the driver called me to see if I was going to make the trip. That was a very kind gesture of the driver.
Great time!! Alot of information about Charleston!
It was a great tour and Anderson was very knowledgeable. Lots of history and information about Charleston.
our guide was a 6th generation Cahrlestonian - very knowledgeable and very entertaining. i would recommend this tour. plus the van had air conditioning
Great tour, Shawn was very knowledgeable about the history of the city, got to see a lot of cool places of interest from wars, slaves, kings to fires and earth quakes.
We had difficulty hearing the tour guide. We asked him to turn up his volume a couple times but the people in the back of the bus still could not hear and became disengaged.
Very informative, air- conditioned bus was comfortable! A great way to learn and see the history of Charleston!!
Anderson did a great job introducing us to Charleston! We followed some of his personal recommendations for food and were not disappointed.
Fantastic tour of Charleston going off the beaten touristy path and offering interesting stories about the city
Very fun way to spend an afternoon. Tour guide was really knowledgeable and told us a lot of interesting facts.
I liked it. Tour guide had a wealth of information. I feel like it's a good starting point to visit, giving you an overview to then selectively go explore more in depth.
This was a great air conditioned tour of Charleston. Driver had great knowledge of Charlestons history and personal city facts.
The bus ride was very comfortable and very informative. We enjoyed it very much. Our driver was very nice and really knew tons of information about Charleston. We learned a lot.
It was amazing, so nice in a bus, air conditioning the experience was just fantastic. I would recommend to all ages. Will worth the cost
We went on a Combo Tour which included a bus tour and entrance to a mansion. Parking was available very close by. Our tour guide was Shawn who is very knowledgeable and experienced in this business and is very enthusiastic. Unfortunately, he spoke too fast and did not enunciate his words and we couldn’t understand much of what he was saying. He also didn’t pause in between sentences which made it hard to keep up. Too much information to digest! We saw a great deal of the city on a very comfortable bus. We got off the bus at City Market and had fun shopping. Our tour guide told us to catch the 211 bus back to the Visitor’s Center but the bus never showed- apparently there was a detour and the bus was not stopping there. Fortunately we found a Trolley Tour bus whose very kind driver agreed to drive us back. After lunch, we did the mansion tour and found it to be interesting and informative.
A good experience. The Guide was very knowledgeable.
Our driver/guide, Anderson, did a fantastic job. His communication was engaging, and his love for the city was evident. Vehicle was a little warm. Appreciated the stories (except the one about the jail - ew) and local tips.
Keep an open mind. The driver was curious about where everyone was from. He was extremely friendly. Would definitely recommend and book
Friendly and knowledgeable driver. Nice cool and clean bus. Easy booking and pickup location. Do it.
Location for the pick up was hard to find. It would’ve been helpful to have it identified as the visitor center with the address. I was not clear that the tour was intended to leave you downtown and not returned back to the visitor center. However, our guide did say we could ride back to the visitor center. All in all good trip.
Sight seeing was great. Listen carefully to the tour guide. I think a longer tour at a slower pace would be better.
We were extremely impressed with Scott. He is a wealth of knowledge, patient, professional, and very passionate about Charleston. The tour exceeded our expectations and we would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn about the area!
Pl emphasize uneven walkways and delineate the different areas. If there for the 1st time - difficult to figure out French Quarters vs North Charleston etc
The driver, Anderson, was great! We learned a lot about the history of Charleston and Anderson had a lot of food recommendations. Highly recommend.
The driver/tour guide had a southern accent difficult to understand, plus his microphone was faulty and the A/C was so loud: could not hear the facts even after speaking up because he couldn’t hear me! Most of the sights were good, except for the academy portion of the tour was too long. Overall; just ok.
I could tell the guide was very knowledgeable but none of us could understand what he was saying. Bus was also very hot.
We had a hard time hearing the tour guide.
The tour starts at a renovated train depot. Really pretty to see and explore while waiting on the start of the tour. Our driver was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area and provided lots of important details. The ride is a little over an hour, you don’t stop anywhere to take pictures so you probably will have to take a video. I would have like to stop for a couple minutes at some points to snap pictures. Some people fell asleep because it’s not very interactive.
Anderson was a fabulous guide! So grateful to sit in an air conditioned bus on a super hot day and tour some of Charleston’s famous places. I highly recommend this tour… and hope you wind up with Anderson as your tour guide!
Anderson was fantastic! Fun. Knowledgeable and professional. We not only were entertained, we had a history lesson.
Great experience and great tour guide
I've been on many city tours throughout Europe and the USA, and Scott's tour of Charleston was the best I've ever experienced! He is very knowledgeable, informative, and speaks very clearly. All while expertly navigating the streets of Charleston!
Great way to see parts of the city and learn some history at the same time! Anderson was very knowledgeable and personable!
Great knowledge of Charleston. I don’t remember the drivers name but he was very polite and professional. Would definitely recommend.
We only had one day in Charleston. This tour really helped us make the most of our day. We were able yo see many places in a short amount of time. Plus it was a small group and AIR CONDITIONED!
We did both the city bus tour & the harbor tour. Both were excellent. The guides were very knowledgeable & friendly. They went out of their way to educate us about what we were seeing. We would definitely recommend booking with Adventure Sightseeing.
Tour was incredible!! Our guide, Shawn, was so knowledgeable. He was like a history book and my history-loving father was in awe. Great way to see the city.
