Darion is an engaging and animated storyteller. I loved her enthusiasm and timing and wit - she belongs on a stage! The stories were fantastic too - not too gruesome, full of history and wild characters. I’ve taken a few ghost tours here and she told my favorite story about Anna and Perry - perfection!
My teenage son and I really worked as a team and completed this! Great bonding/ family time. Only issue is the 8 1/2 is slave quarters. Anytime you see a 1/2 number in a home, that’s what it means. The app guide said they don’t know why 1/2 numbers were added to homes. Small brick homes near the main house were slaves quarters
We ended up taking our tour at night and had a great time! Only thing we didn’t understand was the back story that would run after the clue- started kind of into the story already, then just stopped and there was no ending. But great little tidbits of knowledge- lots of fun.
The story was blank for half of the stops. It also took forever to download the app and enter in the reference code as the link after purchasing did not work.
The tour itself was fine. I had a problem paying through Viator app, though. Once I had paid, I couldn’t use my reference number to join the tour. I ended up having to pay for the tour again online through the Questo app.
We enjoyed the flexibility of the walking tour and not being on a time table. The app we used was user friendly and very informative. Would highly recommend but please note-we went in June and it was super hot. And you will walk close to 3 miles.
We were not able to get the second person’s portion of the game to work. Then, after we did the initial stop (with me narrating to my partner 🙄), we couldn’t get the narrative to continue. Total waste of time and money.
We definitely saw places we would not have otherwise discovered like the alley with the artsy gates and the 81/2 house. I’m glad we did it. The story was okay, but didn’t add much to the experience. The GPS was helpful. The hardest thing about it was the content was difficult to read as it was small, dark colored font. It was a sunny day. If I could have enlarged the font or lightened it, it would have been more enjoyable.
At first it wasn't clear as to what to do. But once I figured it out. It was a lot of fun. Thank you for the experience.❤️
It never happened! Paid and received nothing but an email with code that couldn’t be used anywhere. And the advertisement that says free cancellation? Please!! Save the time and aggravation and try something else.
Autumn our guide was Amazing! Although the renovations made does not give it the old rustic look. Overall nice tour. Wasn’t too impressed with the atmosphere
So much fun to learn about the city this way! The whole family had fun. Easy to use too. I would do this again for other cities I visit.
Great self guided walking tour with a fun twist. Saw several historical spots as well as several lesser known aspects of the city
So fun!! Had a great getting to walk around and solve all the clues! It was a beautiful day in Charleston when we did ours as well. Difficult to get everyone to read if they want to skip ahead but still a great time.
It was so much fun!!!! My wife and I loved this game, lots of interesting information and a great way to see the city
Easy to follow, learned a lot about the city. Good clues, fun to do with friends. Wish they had this in a city closer to my home!
We really liked this! I would call it a scavenger hunt more than an escape game, but either way it was fun and gave us a good tour of a lot of Charleston’s great historic spots on the peninsula. My one caveat is to let people know that occasionally the puzzle questions were either vague or a bit too obtuse, leaving us having to guess a little too hard what the puzzle creator was going for in the answer. Also, you have to type the answers exactly correct in order for the game to register your answer as right (i.e. if they’re looking for the answer “post” and you write “sign post”, the game will register your answer as incorrect until you write only “post” in the answer field). We found this feature to be a bit annoying but not enough to give the game a lower rating. Above all, a good value for experience.
It was fun and got to see some of the Charleston highlights in a different way. Would have nice if the waterfront could have been worked in somehow.
Such a great way to enjoy the city, the kids loved finding the next stop and solving the challenges. Make sure you wear your runners. Highly recommend it any age.
We had such a great experience! The walk was beautiful and we loved learning more about our city! We would love to do another one of these tours asap!
This was a great way to see the city at your own pace. If only one person is going to view the directions, clues, and story you don’t need to pay for multiplayers.
Had a blast playing this downtown charleston game! - we live here but learned even more about our amazing city. some of the writing in the script was a little off but overall we would totally recommend this as a great way to see charleston with a twist.
Genna was a great guide, well spoken, good conviction, believable and upbeat. Enjoyed it greatly...
This is a great way to explore Charleston with family. We love the quick challenges and puzzles, the storyline, and the history. We also liked not being tied to a big tour group and spending more time in certain areas as needed. The customer service was very polite and helpful when we were trying to figure out how to set it up.
It was a fun alternative to a tour. Easy to follow. Good intro to the city.bbjjjjhvded fry yregurgurhigj
We enjoyed this experience immensely! Very fun, informative, and well done. My husband and I had a blast reading the story, walking the city, and learning new things...
What a great trip through history! The clues were easy to follow and the facts were interesting and really add to the experience
We walked the city and saw many highlights of the beautiful town. I would recommend this experience for anyone who enjoys solving puzzles or riddles.
So fun!! We have been to Charleston several times so we wanted something different. We loved exploring on our own and took so many great pictures along the way! Also, we loved all the historical information.
