It’s the best way to get to know the city, its architecture and history. Duggar, our guide. was excellent!
Great way to get acquainted with the historic and architectural side of Charleston. The two hours walk went by very fast, the pace was just right, the tour guide (Dennis Mardis) was excellent. Bottomline, a fantastic tour around the South side of Charleston
Al was our guide for this tour. His passion for his city, its history, and architecture was evident throughout the walk. And his humor helped engage us along the way — he brought smiles to our faces. We thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and highly recommend this tour, and Al specifically, for anyone looking for a non-cookie cutter experience in Charleston.
Great tour. Our guide was so knowledgeable and entertaining! If you want to hear about history while taking a beautiful walk through Charleston this is for you. Enjoy!

The tour involves some walking with several stops in Churches with AC. It is a good way to get to know Charleston then and now.

Dugger was an amazing wealth of knowledge. I loved all of the history and fun facts. The architecture was absolutely stunning! He kept it interesting and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone when they’re in Charleston.
The Guided History and Architecture Walking Tour was outstanding! Our guide Evans is a Charleston native with personal connection to and a passion for the history of Charleston. It was a warm day but we stayed in the shade as much as possible and were provided multiple water breaks.
This is a fantastic tour! Our excellent tour guide Dennis Mardis made the tour so informative and fun. We highly recommend this for anyone who wants to learn about Charleston, its history and architecture. Our only regret was we did this on day 2 of our visit instead of the first day. A wonderful experience with a terrific guide!
Our tour guide was Michael. He did an amazing job sharing his love for his home town of Charleston. He had 20 people in his group and did a wonderful job keeping us together and was loud enough so that we all could hear him share facts, stories and details about the city. Well done! I definately recommend this tour.
Michael was a fantastic guide- he was friendly, factual and funny! I enjoyed all his fun facts and welcoming approach.
Dennis was a great guide. We had a large group, but he managed to keep it moving and the stories were interesting. Highly recommend!

The tour was fantastic! Our tour guide was Al and he was very knowledgeable and entertaining! He did a great job explaining the architecture and history of Charleston. I would highly recommend this tour.
Expert guide. Told great stories and pointed out details of homes and buildings I never would have noticed. Great walking route through a few secret alleyways.
A totally excellent way to see the city of Charleston and learn about some of its history… I preferred the walking tour to a carriage because there was more time to take pictures and actually see some of the buildings up close. And what made the tour even better was our tour guide Al, he was from the area and knew all of the history going back to before the Civil War.
Enjoyed are walking tour with Mark. Very informative and gave us a good start point when exploring Charleston. Would highly recommend
What a spectacular way to spend two hours ! Al was so knowledgeable and engaging Loved every minute Thank you!

Fair admission. Good tour. Guide was fun and friendly.
Highly recommended! Our tour guide, Al, was very knowledgeable and passionate about Charleston architecture and history and at the same time was entertaining and engaging. Thank you, Al!
We learned so much about Charlestonian (and American) history and architecture from Duggar. Excellent, informative tour; highly recommend.
His level of knowledge was exemplary. Great personality. Answered all my questions. Great having a guide who grew up in Charleston
Our group really enjoyed this tour- Al the tour guide was very interesting and often slid some good comedy into his descriptions. Al started the tour at some excellent bathroom facilities, and took us on a great tour around some iconic locations in Charleston. We learned so much. We didn’t want it to end!
We spent two hours walking slowly through historic areas of Charleston with our guide. Al shared a wealth of information while maintaining a light and pleasant mood. It was worth the fee and worth the time.
this tour was excellent. Our guide - Duggard - was so well informed and provided a vast amount of information surrounding the history of the city. I would highly recommend as it was enjoyable.
Dennis was fantastic - very knowledgeable, quite considerate in his layout of the walking and the planned stops for bathroom and resting, and threw in just enough humor combined with some serious topics that I found him to be magnificent as a guide and respectful when needed. Really wonderful guide!
Very interesting. I think the leader may have had a couple of his history items incorrect but overall he was very informational and entertaining.
Absolutely the best tour my brother and I have ever taken anywhere! Evan was engaging, insightful, and amazingly informative.
Duggar was a great guide! Very informative tour! Liked all the personal details that makes Charleston unique
We did this tour on Christmas Day in the morning. So glad we did! “Captain Bobby” was so knowledgeable and had so many fun facts! It was lovely to see all the homes. It’s a great way to explore. Bring water.
Evans was an amazing guide. He shared more information in 2 hours I ever could have imagined. We were a large group of 11 (age 19-70) and he kept us all engaged. Could not have asked for a better guide or tour! 10/10 would go again.
Absolutely amazing tour guide. Tons of historical facts and information. Walked through Beautiful neighborhoods, Absolutely enjoyed the tour. Highly recommend
This was the perfect tour and the best way to get to know Charleston. Our tour guide Evans was so interesting, funny and knows everything about Charleston. We loved the incredible history that he shared, stories he told, recommendations he made and the hidden places he took us. This tour is a must experience to really experience Charleston and to get to know it. The highlight of our trip!!
There was a mix up when I made our reservations; my fault. With the assistance of another tour guide we got on touch with the office who guided us to the correct place to meet our guide who was waiting for us and another couple. Mark, our guide was witty and extremely informative. He explained the history and the back story to many of the sites we visited. I would gladly take another tour with Mark.
Dennis is the greatest. Very informative and fun. Lots of great local history. A South Carolina native.
This is a great walking tour with loads of information about the history of Charleston and it's people. If you want to see the rich architecture of the city, this is the tour for you.
Informative, well paced, good communication, easy to understand and engaging. Evans was a very good host and kept everyone involved in his tour.
