We stayed at this hotel for just one night, and our experience was amazing! First of all, we were able to check in at 11:50 AM, which was wonderful, especially since we had been traveling for four hours with our 4-year-old child. Our room was already ready, which was a huge plus. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and welcoming both at check-in and check-out. They answered all of our questions and were genuinely interested in helping us. We stayed on the 3rd floor in a room with a partial ocean view. The room was nice, recently renovated, and had modern appliances. Everything was clean. From our balcony, we had a view of the hotel's beautiful pool area, with the ocean visible in the distance. We didn't use the pools during our stay, but there are three pools plus a hot tub. The hotel also has restaurants serving breakfast and dinner. These were not included in our stay, but in the evening, the restaurant with the terrace looked very atmospheric from our balcony, with live music and warm string lights. The beach access was very convenient, and there were plenty of lounge chairs available for rent. There was also plenty of space on the beach. The water was warm and clean. Of course, it's not the Caribbean, but it was still very nice, warm, and clean. Parking was convenient, and we had no problem finding a spot. Overall, I honestly don't understand why this hotel has so many negative reviews. We really enjoyed our stay! There is a lot of greenery and beautiful flowers around the hotel and throughout the property. The lighting, renovations, and interior design created a very pleasant atmosphere. We will definitely come back!

Awesome service overall throughout the resort. From the breakfast buffet, AMARIE and MICHAEL at the omlete station. Amazing people. EMMA & MADISON at the front desk so nice, friendly and accommodating. We're definitely enjoying our stay. Can't wait to come back & we haven't even left yet! HA!!
We visited The Westin Hilton Head mid June to celebrate our Anniversary. We were given a room with a balcony over the loud air conditioner compressor. That location did not allow for relaxing on the balcony, which is something I truly look forward to during vacation. I meditate and it allows me to decompress. I brought this to the attention of the front desk and they said they would look into it but there was no follow up communication. Very disappointing. The lock on the balcony door and the balcony chairs were dated and uncomfortable also. I also had to kill a spider in our bed and told the front desk about that too. Nothing was done. The $40 per day resort fee included things I'm certain we did not use, and yet we still had to pay $46 per day for chairs and an umbrella to enjoy the beach. When we checked in, the front desk rep said the hotel needed a hard credit card for the room.,which are in my digital wallet. Luckily I had my Mastercard, in which the representative said I could tap to change the payment at check out. But when we checked out that was not the case. So we ended up putting the charges on a card we didn't want to. Again, very disappointing. Also, given the Westin's luxury reputation, I would think that there would be better restaurant options. The Carolina Room was just ok.
My family and I had a blast. My only complaint was the staff. I booked a room that specifically stated a king size bed and a sofa bed. Once we got to our room we noticed there was no sofa. I called the front desk and initially they were helpful. They stated they would bring out a roll out bed. This was around 4:30pm. We left our room and went straight to the pool and beach. When we returned at 9:30pm there was no roll out bed delivered. I called the front desk again. They stated they were on their way. The staff delivered an inflatable mattress. The manager stated she couldn't do anything for us because Priceline which whom we booked it thru "promoted false information". My sister also booked with Priceline and booked the same layout as we did and her room did infact have a sofa bed. Make it make sense. Other than that our boys had an amazing time.
We took my mom for her birthday and the staff all told her Happy Birthday when they saw us and one of the waiters made her a special Happy Birthday dessert dish and a beverage on the house. She felt very special. The reason I did not give 5 stars for service is our waiters were not very attentive after serving our food. We often went without water refills and several times had to seek out the staff for our check after sitting for 20 minutes or longer waiting for it. The room was very nice and the beds were extremely comfortable! We all slept great! I especially liked the ability to block out almost all light for restful sleep. The resort was clean and beautiful, the food was good and convenient to have so many eateries on property, and the gym had a good amount of machinery/weights—-even had a Peloton making it easy to keep up your fitness goals while visiting. Our one major complaint and disappointment was the toilet paper. For such a nice and expensive resort, the toilet paper was thinner than cheap gas station paper—not kidding. I’ve seen better tp at McDonalds. We felt like we needed to get in the bath to wash the toilet paper off after using it because it was so thin it would break apart and stick to you. This simply should not be the case in a place with this price point. Aside from this, we were very pleased with our stay and would definitely stay again in the future but next time, we will bring our own tp.
