Market Pavilion Hotel

We had a wonderful stay at Market Pavilion overall and would absolutely stay here again. The location is unbeatable — perfectly situated in the heart of Charleston and right next to the market, with everything within easy walking distance. It was the perfect location for being in the center of all the action. The staff were, for the most part, incredibly friendly, kind, helpful, and accommodating. Twice-daily housekeeping was also a really nice touch and kept our room feeling tidy and comfortable throughout our stay. The one negative experience was with a gentleman who practically chased us down when we walked back into the hotel on Saturday after going out for ice cream. He stopped us to ask if we were guests staying at the hotel. While we understand that hotels have security procedures, the way the interaction was handled felt uncomfortable and incredibly off-putting. It left us with the impression that perhaps we didn’t “look” like we belonged there, which was disappointing given how welcoming everyone else had been. Aside from that interaction, our experience was excellent. The hotel is beautiful, the location is fantastic, and the majority of the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We would definitely choose to stay at Market Pavilion again on a future trip to Charleston.

We chose the market pavilion as our wedding night / weekend hotel. It was everything and more , we already are planning to return for our anniversary 😂🩷 The rooms were quite and spacious , very clean and the privacy of the balcony gave my new husband and i the perfect spot to exchange our private vows. The staff was polite and quick, the Bar and wait staff by both the rooftop pool and the Grill down stairs went above and beyond in making our stay special. John at Grill 225 was a doll so kind a patient and really made our first dinner as husband and wife a dream. We can't forget Clark and his amazing martinis 🩷 The front desk staff and valet were prompt and friendly. We have 0 complaints about our stay.

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. It had fantastic service, elegant rooms, and an amazing rooftop view. The central location made it easy to get to all of the popular tourist attractions. I also really have to mention the special person at the front desk named Theresan. She made us feel so comfortable and handled every request. There was no question she could not answer including ways to get around, places to eat, and sights to see. It was a perfect combination of great accomodations and the warm and caring hospitality provided by Theresan. I recommend this hotel very highly .

The Market Pavilion Hotel is not a bad hotel, but it is far from a true luxury experience. The location is excellent, and the building has charm and history, but it feels like the hotel relies almost entirely on those points to support its luxury reputation. The staff were all pleasant, but they were generally very unattentive. Service was average at best, the food was average, and the rooms were below average compared to what I would expect from a hotel positioning itself at this level. Overall, it was an okay stay, but not one I would recommend. There are far nicer places to stay in Charleston that provide a much better overall experience.
