Just popped in here for afternoon tea with freshly baked scones and clotted cream. The hotel is open to non-residents for tea and meals, and the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. The hotel has been completely renovated over the last few years and redecorated in the last 12 months, winning a national award. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

We had such a wonderful stay here this week. A particular thanks to the waitresses and waiter in the restaurant. They were fantastic and really made the experience special. Also, a huge thanks for the room upgrade to our room Meirionnydd which had a balcony with a stunning view. The grounds are kept so beautifully, and they have the biggest Gunnera plants we’d ever seen!! A complimentary bar, with homemade cake and biscuits were a 5* touch . A country house hideaway with beautiful local walks. Utterly fabulous!
We dropped in for afternoon tea - fresh, homemade scones, with jam and clotted cream, delicious. We each had an individual pot of tea, red berry for me, lemon and ginger for my companion. The staff were helpful, welcoming and friendly. We'd heard about the recent refurbishment, with interior design by Nicola Harding, and were curious to see. And it's gorgeous, sumptuous colours for walls, carpets, furnishings and art. We sat in the library for our tea, browsing the books and looking at the views from the window. I'd highly recommend, for an experience, it's beautiful. And, sharing a tea between us, came to £6 per head, which I think is good value for the service, atmosphere and food.
From start to finish, the superb food was a major highlight. The fantastic Sunday lunch was exceptionally executed, and the gorgeous breakfast the next morning offered the perfect start to our day with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The hotel is set in stunning grounds that are absolutely great for walking the dog. Inside, our newly refurbished room was beautifully appointed, incredibly comfortable, and perfectly set up for both us and our dog to relax in style. What truly sets this hotel apart, however, is the attentive staff. Their warm, professional, and welcoming service made our stay feel genuinely special. We will definitely be back.
I think this may be the best hotel I have ever stayed in. My husband treated me to two nights here for my birthday. The staff knew this as soon as they checked us in. The room was gorgeous with beautiful views. It was clean and modern, the bed was really comfortable. You can tell every little detail has been thought of with the interior design, it’s just lovely. I have coeliac disease and I did not feel like I missed out one bit at the restaurant. All the staff knew and were knowledgeable about allergens and dietary requirements. I was given my own tailored menu. The dinner was EXQUISITE. I had the asparagus starter, hispi cabbage main and chocolate mousse. I really cannot fault it. Really delicious. Breakfast was also brilliant. It is quite a pricey stay but you really do get your money’s worth. I cannot say a bad word about the place. The staff are lovely and attentive, the grounds are beautiful, the location is great. I hope we will be back! :)
