Lucky enough to have no-one else in our group. Booked a small group tour anyway, but it was just the 4 of us. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and led the tour at a good pace. We were relatively fast , due to being small group so we covered some extra ground which was a huge bonus. Equipment all great. Glacier wasn't too busy |(October) , maybe 50 people on it at its busiest. Can be 200 plus in the summer according to our guide, which I feel would completely spoil the experience. Afternoon hike recommend as you end with sunset. Would recommend in winter.

Itinerary
Our journey begins at the Arctic Adventures Skaftafell Booking Hut , where you’ll meet your guide and fellow explorers. From here, we drive about 11 km to the Fallsjökull glacier tongue, gear up, and set off on a ~4 km adventure through the glacier labyrinth.
Vatnajökull, in the Vatnajökull National Park, is the second largest glacier in Europe, and largest glacier and National Park in Iceland! We explore Falljökull, an outlet of the mighty Vatnajökull.
Falljökull (''Falling Glacier'') is the beautiful glacier outlet where Vatnajökull spills down the mountainside. This is where we hike. Your guide will lead you onto the ice and ensure everyone is comfortable with their crampons and gear. Next, the guide leads you to the Labyrinth, a section of the glacier where the ice is pushed and pulled into deep cracks and narrow alleys. You’ll weave through these blue-tinted corridors, learning about the geology of the ice and the impact of climate change on Iceland’s giants.

Reviews
Never received an email canceling the event. Drove 2 hours from Vik in rain only to find an empty booth. Phone to customer service led to being told they sent an email the previous morning. Never received the notification. Super disappointed and frustrated as this was a one time trip to Iceland.
Awesome adventure. This is NOT an easy tour. It’s not difficult but it certainly is not easy. Beautiful views and a really interesting experience. Arctic Adventures had great equipment and was very well organized. Our tour guide, Alex from the Czech, was great. Safety was #1 and teaching us how to properly execute this tricky tour was paramount to her. Just a great experience from start to finish.
The tour was very enjoyable and well organized. Nicole was an excellent guide: she provided all the explanations in Italian, English, and Spanish, making sure that everyone in the group could follow along despite the different nationalities. The only disappointing aspect was the ice maze itself. Unfortunately, due to the temperature, the ice had partially melted and was lower than expected, so it did not look quite like the photos. As a result, it was not exactly what we had imagined beforehand. However, this is obviously dependent on weather conditions and not on the tour organization. Overall, it was still a positive experience.
We booked the Glacial Wonders tour for our group and had a fantastic time. It was the first time hiking a glacier for most of us and the difficulty level was just fine. The guide gave clear instructions for how to navigate the terrains and equip our gears. The views and the experience were unbeatable!
We had a good time even though it rained heavily. Unfortunately the hike through the Crevisse is extremely short since one section broke off and it was not passable. Otherwise good tour and nice guides!
Absolutely brilliant experience getting to hike a glacier and actually use the gear (even if at a beginner level). Will definitely do the next level if I come back.
We had a wonderful time with Veronica Yarza Ortega on the Vanatjökull Glacier in Iceland. A fantastic adventure with a cheerful and professional guide. She provided excellent explanations and helped us feel confident for what was, after all, a pretty impressive activity. She was very attentive to the group, reassuring, confident, and made us feel safe. A pleasant memory for four Frenchies—even the sun was out to join us. Thanks so much Veronica Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
The hike to the foot of the glacier was a little strenuous. The hike on the glacier was a little challenging. Our guide, Phillipe, was EXCELLENT! He made sure we were all safe, explained all the safety precautions, and checked everyone's equipment. During the hike he explained a lot of the features of the glacier and the effect of the glacier on the mountains around us. He was good natured and made the hike very rewarding. He even took several group photos of us. On our way down, some of us were thirsty. We got the chance to taste some of the meltwater, which was very refreshing. I highly recommend this tour!
Booked this last minute the night before and very much worth it. Beta and Lily were great guides and very upfront with potential weather and risk and we're lucky enough to go on the glacier. Beta was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the glacier and we learned a lot. Even drank the glacial water.
Had so much fun exploring the glacier and our guide Martin was great, very kind and informative. So happy we decided to do this tour !
Fantastic experience! We had a fantastic guide, and really got to see some unique parts of the glacier. The crevasses weren’t as deep as they were in 2019 when we did a similar tour, but the guides did a great job of letting us see the coolest parts of this massive glacier that were open to the public! Our kids (ages 10-17) said this was the coolest excursion we did on the whole trip!
During our holiday in Iceland, we did this tour. It was easy to manage. Our guide, Jan, told us so many interesting things about the glacier, the ice and its color, the ice labyrinth, and much more. It was a super exciting tour and we had a lot of fun. With Jan, it felt like being with a very good friend. Thank you so much, Jan, it was a pleasure meeting you.
This was an incredible experience and perfect for a family. My daughters are 12 and 13 and really the great outdoors. This was a new experience and from start to finish it was a great activity. Our Ana Moralez was probably the best guide I have come across. She was very friendly, adaptable to any requests but also kept the group fully informed. A rare blend when on in an area which could be dangerous without a strong leader. I recall Ana was helping a few stray tourists from another company's group since their guide was not watching out. The areas we explored had the most blue-ish ice I have come across. We got some great photos and videos by Ana and amazing memories that will stay with us for life. Thank you Arctic Adventure and Ana.
Walking on a glacier was a unique experience! Our guide Jan was very fun and helpful. My mom has mobility issues and he made sure she was always safe, while keeping a good sense of humor. Highly recommended!
Awesome hike atop the glacier, fascinating changing landscape and excellent guide. Good amount of time, not too short or long.
Super friendly staff, nice short and quite easy hike (for me) beautiful views! I recommend it for family and begginers. If you want more sporty adventure I would go for a "harder" tour!
We did the crevasse labyrinth glacier hike and absolutely loved it. It was such a cool experience, and I know its a newer tour. Our guide Kevin was friendly, professional, and helpful. We had a great time and felt comfortable and prepared for the glacier hike. The staff is great and it is extremely well organized and you feel safe and cared for.
The tour was great. The guide was very knowledgeable and taught us a lot about the glacier. We would do it every time again it was absolutely worth the money.
I booked the ice maze and glacier crevasse tour through Get Your Guide/Arctic Adventures. When I arrived, I was told that I was no longer going to be doing this activity and that Arctic Adventures had booked me onto a different activity without letting me know in advance. The alternative activity was too long, so it would have prevented me from attending my other Get Your Guide activity I had scheduled for later in the date. Had they notified me at least 24 hours in advance, I could have cancelled the booking or rescheduled my booking in the afternoon. However, they didn't behave responsibly and they caused my a great inconvenience. The team on the spot tried to help me, but the tour they ultimately provided was not what I paid for: there was no maze and we only really looked into one crevasse, not to mention there was no possibility to take pictures in the crevasse like those advertised on their websites. The guide also did a good job considering the situation. It was the team in Reykjavik, I was told, that unfortunately messed up my booking. I requested a refund since I was not provided what I paid for fully and I was inconvenienced by this whole situation, and I lost over an hour waiting around, which caused me to almost miss my later booking with Get Your Guide. However, I only got a tiny partial refund and the reviews I posted about this on Get Your Guide conveniently didn't get posted...
Unique, unforgettable, and unrepeatable experience. Totally recommended. Mind you, you have to take the one that lasts at least 4h (ours was 4h and a half). The guide was exceptional. There are no words, photos, or videos to describe what we experienced. Thanks for everything!!!
Very nice hike. Our guide was very nice and told us some information about the glacier.
Our guide Martina was very attentive and explained all the procedures to us in great detail and checking that everything was okay.
A beautiful experience with a very attentive guide who shared very interesting information. It is possible to find discount coupons by searching on the net. Warning: 20-minute walk there and back to get to the glacier. Out of 4 hours, count on 1.5 hours on the glacier.
A unique experience this 3-hour walk on the glacier. A timeless moment in a grand setting.
We were in a small group of 12 people, including two teenagers. There were 3 guides present. The hike was beautiful, but a lot of time was lost for individual photos. Due to the repeated standing and waiting, it also became cold and almost boring. Some participants - including the teenagers - did not follow the guides' instructions, which created a bit of tension. The guides should show more authority. We had booked the labyrinth tour, but we only saw about two ice caves, and only from the outside. According to the guide, it looks less spectacular in summer than in winter. However, for me, there was a significant discrepancy between the described tour and the actual offering. It was great to see such a glacier up close and learn something about it. However, I would have expected a bit more for the price: Smaller groups, announcing rules and enforcing adherence to them, providing more information about the glacier, and delivering what was promised at the time of booking.
We did the glacier wonders tour yesterday. The guide Ola was great. Very friendly and gave a good explanation, nice tour and tips. Also the service with books!
Superb experience!!! The guide was very professional, competent and friendly. This is a unique excursion to do absolutely when you are in Iceland!
Beautiful experience, the guide Olà very nice and prepared, really nice and suggestive place, Iceland offers truly unique and incredible emotions
Too bad. They changed our excursion at the last minute and on top of that it was super basic what we did. Not at all compensate the 100€ paid. We wouldn't repeat.
Excellent experience, something unique that you must experience in Iceland that cannot be experienced in many countries of the world. We were lucky enough to have a great guide who spoke Spanish and quite friendly and enjoyable who explains and does a great job to make you feel comfortable in a totally new Mood like ice.
