We explore the 2 colonial buildings which now make up the National Gallery Singapore, namely the Former Municipal Building (later renamed City Hall Building) and the Former Supreme Court Building. Step into the chamber where Lord Louis Mountbatten accepted the surrender of the Japanese on 12 September 1945, the holding cells of the former Supreme Court, etc.
Discover the hidden gems in the oldest surviving building in Singapore, dating from 1827.
Discover how 2 buildings, one formerly the Town Hall and the other the Memorial Hall for Queen Victoria, built more than 40 years apart, were amalgamated to form one. We also take a look at the original bronze statue of Sir Stamford Raffles and learn about its association with football!
Formerly the Government Offices of Colonial Singapore.
Cross the oldest surviving suspension bridge in Singapore, and learn about what life was like along the Singapore River about 200 years ago.
Formerly the General Post Office, the building now houses The Fullerton Hotel, a luxurious 5-star hotel with a heritage gallery well worth visiting.
Stop for a 3-course lunch at a riverside restaurant. Non-vegetarian and vegetarian options are available.
Ever wonder what it's like inside the maximum security building with the spaceship-like structure on top? Come explore with us.
Iconic neoclassical style colonial building with its rainbow-coloured windows.
Visit the oldest surviving fire station in Singapore. Come face-to-face with an antique horse-drawn fire truck, and climb aboard a vintage fire engine.

Ping is such a knowledgeable guide to show you the sights if this city and obviously proud of the country s achievements since independence. She gave a good history of the different ethnic groups arriving and the colonial times. Also explained how the current education and political systems worked to allow all equal opportunities. Throughout the walk she took photos and shared them with us within the hour. The lunch was fantastic I would recommend the chicken curry. She was so interesting I joined her again the next day for little India tour.
Ping did an excellent job. She paced the tour in and out of air conditioned buildings, and brilliantly explained the history, people, and its Singapore’s extraordinary culture, development, politics and multicultural society. We highly recommend her tours.
Ping was a great tour guide! She is friendly and so knowledgeable about the history of Singapore! I learned so much on this tour! I definitely recommend this tour. She makes sure there are breaks for sitting and resting as well as bathroom.
Ping was an excellent guide who gave a response, insightful and comprehensive tour which included an excellent lunch on a lovely location. You could not fault her itinerary which thankfully dodged in and out of some wonderfully interesting and historic but air conditioned building. This tour proved an excellent insight to Singapore its history and today’s society taking us to places we would never have found ourselves. Ping answered all questions asked of her comprehensively. Overall very worthwhile tour lasting from 10 am to just after 2pm.
Great experience. Ping was terrific. Very knowledgeable and interesting and very friendly. Would highly recommend.
was wonderful walking Tour with a very professional guide, Ping who was very knowledgeable & such a proud Singaporean which made it a pleasure being in her company...tk u Ping!
A first class experience. There were 7 in our group including my husband and myself. The highlight of our tour was Ping, our tour guide. As well as her extensive historical knowledge, she shared so generously with her time and personal experiences. Her love for her country and its achievements as well as its history shone through. We all felt so special to have Ping share her Singapore with us. A not to be missed experience.
This is an experience in Singapore with Ping our guide that you should not miss out on. It was one of the best tours we have ever done. Ping fitted in so much information of interest and was extremely knowledgeable on local history. Reasonably paced with rest stops and photo opportunities. Lunch was of a high standard. Thankyou Ping.

Our guide Ping was outstanding, with the history and cultural information she imparted. As a passionate Singaporean, she gave us a great insight into the way her country was established and the lifestyle that her people enjoy. Highly recommend Ping for anyone wanting to understand Singapore culturally
We really enjoyed this tour. Ping really knows her history and is a skilled communicator. We learned so much about Singapore’s colonial past, how it influenced Singapore today and we visited places we never would have found on our own. She also looked after us very well, finding lots of shade, airconditioned spaces and places to sit for rests. Singapore is hot and humid so this really made the tour much easier than others we have done. The included lunch was delicious- I chose the Indian Vegetarian set . High recommend for this tour.
Great morning in Singapore, with fascinating bits of information to kick off my visit. Ping was a wonderful guide to her city’s history and really made me wish for far more time here to explore every corner. I loved the fact that lunch was included in the experience, and would recommend this tour wholeheartedly!
Ping's tour was excellent. She was informative, knowledgeable and shared both facts and anecdotes that were interesting. The locations chosen to focus on were varied and demonstrated Singapore's history well. Ping took time to answer everyone's questions well and we did not feel rushed on the tour at all. The tour size was good ( we had 11 in our group). I would thoroughly recommend this tour.

Excellent. Ping (our guide) was charming, approachable and very knowledgeable. She made the whole tour interesting and relatable, taking us to some places that we would not have found if we had been independent tourists.
I couldn't fault this tour- really well researched and explained, lots of interesting information and we went into buildings that told the story of Singapore which are free for the public to go into but as a tourist you'd never know it! Ping finds plenty of seated areas either in shade or air-con to tell the story, so you never feel too hot or tired. I wish I'd done this tour the first time I came to Singapore!
The tour was very well organised by our tour guide Ping. She is very knowledgeable about Singapore and its history, and we learnt so much during our time together. I would highly recommend her tour, and we will definitely book her other tour options when we are back in Singapore.
I thoroughly enjoyed this tour—it was informative, engaging, and a lot of fun from start to finish. It provided an excellent overview of Singapore’s colonial history and gave me a much deeper appreciation for how the country’s past has shaped the vibrant city it is today. She struck the perfect balance between education and entertainment, and the time flew by. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Singapore, especially if it’s your first visit. It’s a fantastic way to gain historical context, discover places you might otherwise miss, and better appreciate everything you’ll see during the rest of your stay.

Ping was an outstanding guide. She remembered everyone’s names, came prepared with wet wipes and umbrellas, was energetic and enthusiastic and knew her subject backwards. She answered every question the group asked unhesitatingly and comprehensively. The route was well planned to make the most of shade and air-con. I learned heaps and am so pleased we did this tour.

We had a great time on this tour - Ping is an excellent guide and we learnt a lot about Singapore's history, and the life style of its people. She took us to lots of out of the way places you'd never know about without insider/local knowledge. Lunch was great, the tour was well planned out, and lots of interesting and relevant information. Enjoyed this tour so much we did another with Ping as our guide the next day.
Above and beyond. Pings knowledge, passion and story telling make for a great way to experience the history of Singapore, not forgetting lunch and short breaks all well planned.
This was a fabulous tour that I would highly recommend! Ms Ping was an excellent, knowledgeable guide who brought the fascinating history of Singapore to life during our visits to the beautiful historic buildings visited during the tour.
Ping was a very knowledgeable and professional guide. She had clearly planned the experience very carefully so there was a good balance of walking a sitting along the way. Some bits were outside and most parts inside had the benefit of some air conditioning, There were two toilet stops provided. This was a really interesting mix of history and interesting buildings. Even our teenage son said it was a good tour :) There was a nice lunch included including a soft drink and a small dessert. While watching the water by the restaurant we saw an otter. At the Armenian church we saw two blue kingfishers which was also a surprise.
We had a fascinating tour of the buildings relevant to colonial history in Singapore and how the country has developed since independence. We really appreciated pings family stories...it really brought her narrative to life. Our favourite place was the Armenian church...a sideline to the main history of Singapore but such a beautiful simple and atmospheric place.
I would highly recommend this tour. Guide, Ping, was very informative and passionate about the subject, keeping us all engaged. Relating the history of colonial Singapore about her own family, brought it to life. Group photo at each location a bonus. Lunch stop enjoyable.
Our tour guide, Ms. Ping, was absolutely fabulous! She was a wealth of knowledge, and the tour was packed with fascinating insights about the history, buildings, and people. She also went the extra mile by taking photos and sharing them with the group, which was such a thoughtful touch. Lunch was great as well. Highly recommend!

Wonderful tour and leader! If you are lucky, you will get Ping who is one of the best Tour leaders we have ever had. Thank you.
Absolutely brilliant tour, Ping was friendly, knowledgeable, engaging and shared some very poignant family history which really brought the situations to life. History, geography, economy...got to go in some buildings you would never normally go in to. But most of all great fun! It's just her, not a big tour operator, it really does get that personal insight and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Such an excellent tour! Ping was so informed, easy going and had great insight into the history, economy and present day Singapore. We learned so much and got inside buildings and discovered places we would never have thought of! She also told us some of her family history in the context of WW2 which really struck home. Thoroughly recommended. Pic is of our group in the holding cell of the Supreme Court (we're innocent m'lud!!)

Lovely pace of walking with an educated guide who explained things well and answered all our questions. Good lunch included.
Ping was an amazingly knowledgeable guide. We wanted to learn some history but also understand how Singapore runs now. Ping had the answers to all of our questions. The organisation of the tour was so slick and the timing perfect. I cannot recommend this tour enough. Ping’s company is called On a Roll Tours and she has other tours that she does. I would definitely do some more with her. If you come to Singapore then this is a must do tour. It’s very gentle walking and you get to sit down plenty for anyone worrying about that.
