Fun interactive activity to do in Singapore! I did it with my significant other and we had ton of fun! I put 1 star in Meeting/Pickup because the experience was soured by the extremely rude dude in the counter but besides that i recommend this activity and excited to do another MONOPOLY in another place in Singapore! We took around 3 hours because we looked at shops and enjoyed the banana pie in Dona Manis.
Hidden Gem’s real life Monopoly was well worth the hype and better than I had imagined. Following clues and directions, we had tasks to complete and riddles to solve via WhatsApp with a virtual bot. The locations the game sent us to were engaging and fun. It was nice walking along the streets of Katong and learning more about the culture and heritage of the place. Think a mash up between real-life monopoly, a heritage trail, solving puzzles, walking and good food. We could even purchase food using Monopoly money! The only downsides were that we had only planned 1.5-2h for this activity, as stated on the website. I would highly recommend minimally 2.5h for this, and up to 5h for a maximum tour, taking it at a leisurely pace. Some directions weren’t too clear, but the hints were helpful and we found them easily enough. Another thing is that one must be careful as the game is phone based while walking. Be sure to look up while walking and beware of traffic. I thoroughly enjoyed the trill and would recommend this to residents and tourists alike. The streets of Katong were beautiful and quaint. I just wished I had more time to savour and soak everything in.
Amazing family fun for the entire family, teens inclusive
This version let’s you see all the important parts of Joo Chiat Rd and it’s rich and flavourful history. Worth the time spent around the area
It was fun especially because we could buy items using the monopoly money. But it was a little tiring
It's a very interesting experience as we get to explore Singapore's culture history and heritage. Even as a local, we get to learn a lot about our heritage, and it's a fun family bonding time for us. Will definitely explore other treasure hunts soon!
A thoroughly enjoyable experience. The trail featured many gems along Joo Chiat and was nicely paced. There were stops for delicious food, tidbits of history that shed light on the area, and an immersive Monopoly game experience that added to the fun! My family enjoyed the trail so much that we are already looking forward to doing another one!
Excellent experience for our family of four, including two primary schoolers! We are locals who are not familiar with the East, and decided to spend a meaningful June school holiday afternoon exploring the historical architecture and alleys, beautiful wall murals, quaint stores and delectable F&B outlets throughout Katong and Joo Chiat. We practically just followed the instructions, attempted activities, took our own time to get acquainted with local history and current business owners. There were many hidden gems, and some of whom had such amazing crafts, we bought merchandise from and promised to share more with our friends and family. Support local! We would highly recommend the trail. Some merchandise cannot be bought with cash, so do reserve some monopoly money for those. Shout out to Edwin, the Hidden Team WhatsApp Support personnel, for prompt responses and friendly support. All the best!
Rocky start at first but Edwin was quick to assist and my daughter & I were on our way to an amazing adventure! Taking a slow walk down the streets of joo Chiat/ east coast road was not only nostalgic, it was also an eye opener for my kid. The beautiful mosaic walls that we usually walk pass seem more colorful and attractive. We discovered alleys we never knew existed. Overall, it was such a wonderful experience. Took us about 3hrs to complete, tiring but fulfilling.
I am a senior n participated this event I had learnt n seen so many places- new to me too
The hidden experience was so much fun! I thoroughly enjoyed myself. This is a great activity for couples or friends, a really refreshing experience as well. Would recommend going during evening/early mornings to beat the heat. The whole experience was really smooth and easy to follow, managed to clock in steps too! Definitely would bring others to try it, 10/10 experience!
Incredibly fun date idea, with opportunities to explore Joo Chiat neighbour and try many local delights Bring fan and/or umbrella to beat the heat.
Really love this monopoly game in Joo Chiat Road. Joo Chiat is such a beautiful district. Also big thanks to HiddenSG team (Edwin) for helping us a lot, because before we booked the wrong location and he help us to settle the situation.
Fantastic experience. We get to see a different side of Joo Chiat. Best of all -- you get to use monopoly money to buy a drink in the real world ! Fun and engaging. This should be a "must-do" activity for anyone. Highly recommended.
it was really fun and cute! exploring joo chiat and learning more about the local heritage.. def recommend!
so cool to actually use monopoly money to pay in real life! fun walk around the neighborhood and finding hidden gems!
Went with a large group of 9, consisting of 4 adults and 5 teens. Finding the starting point was easy, but the set up of the team via the QR code took quite a while and we needed help from the shop attendant. The QR code connected to the chatbot Void Deck Cat, which provided a string of instructions. It took a while to realise that the QR code generated on the chatbot of the 'team leader's phone was for all other team members to scan in with their own phones to join the what's app group with Void Deck Cat. Once all have joined the chat group, the team leader then confirms the team members. We also collected our tote bags with $300 Monopoly which could be used at participating shops, which will display the Monopoly sign. There's also a bottle of water, a map of the area, and a Chance card key chain. After the set up, things were smoother. As we had very large group the chat messages came in fast and furious as any member can enter and answer or a response to questions posed by the chatbot. The recommended size of each group was 5. Whenever we were stuck on a question we could ask for hints. The journey took us to about 15 sites in a stretch of about 1 to 2 km. We learnt a lot about the early history of the place, and why Tanjong Katong got its name. Lots of beautiful hidden murals which could easily be missed if we didn't slow down to look for them. Overall it too about 90 to 120 min to complete.
Love the fun facts which helped to demystify for me (as a local) the interesting streets and landmarks of Joo Chiat and Katong. I can't wait to try out the other Monopoly Game in other precincts.
We have always enjoyed the experience of exploring Singapore’s iconic locations and learning about their history through HIDDEN’s Self guided adventures. For this Joo Chiat adventure, the process has been quite smooth sailing except for this first part where we scanned the QR code and there seems to be an error. Thanks to Edwin from the HIDDEN team who troubleshooted the issue for us immediately and ensured there is absolutely no disruption to our gameplay! He responded in a fun way which complements the gameplay tone of communication by the Void deck cat. We would have enjoyed it perfectly if not for the extremely hot weather during gameplay. Luckily there are indoor locations included for us to hide away from the heat. Most vendors are friendly and they are willing to explain their business, and are helpful too. Overall, we had a deeper appreciation and understanding of Joo Chiat after this experience!
Tried the Hidden Monopoly experience at Joo Chiat and it was a really fun and unique activity! I liked that we could use Monopoly money and move around the neighbourhood . it made everything feel more interactive and engaging compared to typical indoor games. It also encouraged us to explore and notice more of Joo Chiat, which was a nice touch. The game was easy to follow and well organised, so we could just enjoy the experience without any confusion. Overall, it’s a simple but enjoyable activity and you can do it at your own pace, great for a casual outing with friends or something different to do over the weekend. Would recommend!
A group of us 4 friends who participated enjoyed the unique event. The whole package setup, video content, images, facts writeup and consumer experience are highly commendable. Each of us were given a Monopoly tote bag, key chain, 6pcs of Monopoly $50 (which can be used to buy items), key chain, a bottle of water and a map. And all items were customised with the Monopoly logo. Very good value for monies for an event. We chose the Joo Chiat/Katong one which was so full pf heritage. Will definitely recommend to others. Great job to the team.
The game is amazing! Love the puzzles and discovery of new places like the canopy. The hint or clues should be more accurate or transparent as we had to ask for help in the station near food Republic area. Love the free food at the end of the game.
Very fun! slightly on the expensive side since you only receive one treat! but great bonding experience! clues were quite clever! finished the experience in 1 hr 9 mins
Except for 1 clue, the rest were pretty fun to solve. Had a good time with my friends throughout the experience. Oh and we learnt some histories too. Haha. Thanks! :)
