After a booking snafu where the tour was almost cancelled, Pam stepped in and saved the day despite it being her day off. We had a wonderful tour and Su Ling was a wonderful host and guide. The tour provided us with a great insight into the many different cuisines of Singapore and it was a culinary delight and having the opportunity to try new foods was such an enjoyable experience: The hawker centres in Singapore are such a great place to visit and eat as they are so authentic and you get to experience the real Singapore with real Singaporian people.
Su Ling was an excellent guide - the tour provided a wonderful insight into Singaporean culture - rich with historical tidbits and architectural marvels and excellent food and beverage tastings along the way. Thoroughly recommend this tour!
Su Ling was an excellent tour guide who was very knowledgeable and kept us out of the sun as much as possible. We learned about the customs of each race who live in harmony in Singapore. This was a very enjoyable tour. I highly recommend it to everyone.
Highly recommend this food and neighborhood tour. Our guide, Tjan, was amazing. Learned a lot about the neighborhoods we explored and tried foods from various cultures represented in Singapore.
If you want to truly understand Singapore through its incredible food culture, book this tour with Hello Singapore! The food across the entire tour was phenomenal. We got to sample dishes from a wide variety of cultures and ethnicities, which was amazing on its own, but what made the experience so special was learning why those dishes exist. Hearing about the historical and cultural impact of the different immigrant communities gave us a whole new appreciation for the local cuisine. A massive thank you to our guide, Kwang! Kwang was extremely knowledgeable, respectful, and passionate about sharing the history and culture of Singapore. On top of guiding us through a fantastic itinerary, Kwang gave us some incredible local recommendations to use for the rest of our trip. Worth every bit of time and money, I’d recommend Kwang and Hello Singapore to anyone visiting!
2 of us had a wonderful tour with Priscilla as our guide through some of Singapore’s historically ethnic neighbourhoods, and of course, the food! Priscilla was a friendly and engaging guide, very knowledgeable and conscientious, always making sure we were comfortable and having great conversations the while time. The tour was well-paced, with good food at each stop, and time in between to digest while learning about Singapore’s history and various groups that immigrated and contributed to its distinct culture. We started hungry and left full, with a better understanding of how to order and eat everything from curry puffs, kaya toast, laksa, “carrot cake”, noodles (mee), curries, dosai, coffee (kopi), tea (teh) and sugar cane juice - freshly squeezed, among others. One of the interesting things about this tour was not only trying the food, but also seeing how some of it was prepared, as well as learning the unique blend of chinese, malay and tamil words used to describe the dishes. This was our first time in Singapore, and we learned a lot. We feel ready to explore Hawker Centres and other shops on our own, with a few ideas of where to go next.
We had a wonderful time with Pam - the food was varied and delicious, the stops were thoughtful and the information that Pam shared with us - with the food as background - was interesting and informative. The food stops were interspersed with walking and stops to learn about neighborhoods and culture, so it didn’t feel like an overwhelming eating tour at all (though I’m glad we didn’t have dinner reservations!). And even though it rained pretty hard for a large part of the tour, Pam chose thoughtful pathways to get us where we needed to go, so we don’t feel like we missed out on anything and we didn’t get soaked. Would highly recommend!
Excellent tour not only for the wonderful food experience but also a bit of history and culture of singapore. Every place we visited was welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed every stop, some more than others but mostly loved them Our guide was Richard who was excellent, informative knowledgeable kept things moving at a reasonable pace but in no way rushed. So much fun
I wanted to rate it a 10 but 5 is the most allowed. Gee was friendly and knowledgeable. We visited several different communities and sampled many different foods. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in visiting the different regions and experiencing the different foods and cultures. Definitely a highlight of our trip.
Pam did an amazing Job. Full of energy and information, made the time go by fast. So much FUN and Delicious!
Our guide for this six-hour tour was with Pamela, who had an outgoing personality and was very knowledgeable about the food and the various cultures we would be sampling. There was only one other couple on the tour with us, so it was an intimate group. The description of this 9:00 a.m. tour warns participants not to eat breakfast. Heed that warning! We started in Chinatown with chicken cream puff and a local favorite, Kaya Toast and it turned out to be one of the group's favorites too. But just about everything we tasted was excellent. This tour covers four distinct neighborhoods, embracing Chinese, Malaysian, Muslim and Indian cuisines with small, but generous and favorable food and drink in each neighborhood. But Pamela's often funny and always informative commentary was not just about the food, but also about the communities and the cultures that make Singapore so fascinating. When we were not walking from one eatery to another, we rode the buses. Pam made the experience easy. We sampled everything from rice dumplings and a fried oyster omelette, to Beef Rendang and Teh Tarik Iced Tea served in a bag! By the time we were at the last of more than a dozen stops, we could hardly enjoy the Paper-thin dosai pastry & mango lassi drink for dessert. We were full! But enjoy it we did. By the end, we had enjoyed Pam's company so much we were sorry to see the tour end. It had been a full, and fulfilling six hours.
Our day with Pam was incredible! She was the most amazing guide, so knowledgeable, full of great information and stories to share, great sense of humour and this tour really felt like a day out with a friend eating and laughing together. We all had the most amazing day and would recommend Pam and this tour to everyone! This was the best possible way to begin our holiday, and something we will always remember.
Amazing experience. We did it on the first morning and our guide Su set us up for the rest of our trip with all we learned! Don’t eat breakfast before you go!
We had an amazing experience on the food tour, thanks to our incredible guide, Gee! From the moment we started, he made us feel welcome and excited to dive into the world of hawker markets and the unique foodie landscape of Singapore. They shared fascinating stories about Singapore’s food culture, guided us through the bustling markets with ease, and introduced us to a delicious variety of local dishes I might never have discovered on my own. Their enthusiasm, knowledge, and warm personality made the whole tour unforgettable. Every stop was thoughtfully chosen, and the guide made sure we understood the history, flavors, and traditions behind each dish. It truly felt like exploring Singapore with a local friend who loves food and loves sharing it with others. Highly recommend this tour if you want an authentic, flavorful, and fun experience in Singapore!
It was excellent, we ate a ton, tried many new types of food and laughed a lot. It was truly a great day. We stopped at many different booths and tried all different things and when we wanted mango with coconut milk that was not a problem, we were able to get it right away.
Awesome tour. The food was great, learnt so much not just about the many foods but history of Singapore and the people. Guide Gee was brilliant.
Su Ling is an excellent guide. The food was excellent and interesting and she shared her knowledge about the history and development of Singapore.
This tour was absolutely amazing , this was a real local food experience that had a lot of stops and delicious local food . Our guide Su Ling was absolutely amazing . Highly recommend booking this while you are in Singapore !
Sue was an outstanding guide, not only providing background on the food, but also the historical, political and societal background of Singapore and neighborhood within.
We had a fabulous time on this food tour. Our guide Su Ling was super generous with her cultural and culinary knowledge. I particularly liked how we were able to sample foods from each of the special cuisines here in Singapore - Chinese, Malay, Arabic and Indian. Su Ling also showed us really authentic local restaurants (not tourist traps!) that we would not have been able to find ourselves. Would highly recommend this tour if you have a few days in Singapore and want an excellent taste of all the culinary delights this country has to offer!
Pam was an excellent guide who knows the areas well. A great range of foods. She was very helpful in directing me to a place to catch a grab taxi
Our food tour with Su was the highlight of our visit to Singapore. She provided a historical perspective which provided a context for the many different foods we tried. All her food selections were excellent and portioned so we could try many different dishes. We went to many places we would never have found by ourselves. We also liked that Su answered all the group’s questions and was generous with other suggestions for eating, shopping and sightseeing. Time well spent!
What a fantastic tour!! Such a great way to see, get to know and of course, taste a variety of Singapore's neighbourhoods. Really informative and delicious. So good that I'd do it all again. Thanks Gee Soo!
This was an absolutely fantastic food tour that not only included amazing foods from various cultures, but also a wealth of information about life in Singapore! Gee was the best host!!
Proved to be a very informative and interesting tour of the many different eateries and cultures that Singapore is noted for. Certainly took us off the beaten track to areas we would never of visited otherwise. Su proved a very well informed and professional guide.
What a glorious time! Pam was a great guide who ensured we experienced the diverse range of foods Singapore had to offer. Combined with her explanation of each of the various neighborhoods and the ease with which she maneuvered us through the bus system to get to to our next location, by the end of the day I felt like a true local. I especially enjoyed the walk to our final stop in Little India. Thank you Pam!
My husband and I have done many food tours around the world, and the one we did with Pam is one of the best ever! Her bubbly personality and her vast knowledge of the food and various areas we visited made it so much fun. It was obvious great care was given to choosing the specific foods and drinks we would try as they were not only delicious, we also felt they were very representative of the various cultures of Singapore. Our only problem was we couldn't eat everything because we were stuffed. Thank you, Pam for a fun day in Singapore! I would highly recommend this tour!!!!
This was an amazing food tour that took us through four neighborhoods and included a visit to a Hawker center. Our guide, Pam was the best. She was informative, funny and kept all our interest.
During our 6 hour tour we sampled 15 different food dishes and 4 different drinks from the rich and varied cultures of the peoples of Singapore. The tour was so well paced and the food was delicious.
From start to finish this was a great day out. Our guide, Gee made us welcome and his knowledge of the local customs, the history of the area and of course the food, was excellent. We ate, we walked, we jumped on buses and the six hours flew by. I would highly recommend this tour
Booked the Hello Singapore food tour for our first day in Singapore and what a way to start our stay!! Our guide Richard was incredible for the day, his passion for food and Singaporean culture was infectious. Exploring the Hawker centres was an experience you want forget and all the food throughout the day was delicious. Perfect way to start the holiday and thank you Richard for a great day.
Great experience, delicious food paired with history of the city. Definitely recommended. Would surly not have seen these parts of the city. Sui is a superb guide, very lively.
I travel for work and always do a food tour in the cities I visit. This tour is by far the best food tour I’ve ever done! I liked it so much that have done this tour each time I have come to Singapore for work — 3 times! It is truly a marathon of food over the course of 6 hours, and everything tastes amazing. The guides also do a great job explaining the city’s history and culture, so it is a great introduction to the city itself.
Su Ling was an excellent guide in introducing me to the different cuisines in Singapore. I appreciated her taking the time and energy to send us a summary of what foods we tried along with group photos
An amazing day with Pam!! We learnt so much about Singapore and it’s food history! Would definitely recommend as it was a great way to see the city!!
It was a very good tour. Su Ling was very friendly and knowledgeable about Singapore food and the areas we visited. She did a very good job of keeping us out of the son on a hot day. We really enjoyed all the food and made us appreciate the Singaporean food culture. I would recommend this tour.
Last week, we had the wonderful experience of being shown the sights of Singapore from the delightful Gee. On the way, we ate our way through several nations, whilst Gee thoroughly explained the history of each area, along with Singapore as a country. We learnt more from this tour than if we had tried to Google it ourselves. Gee, I hope your trip to see your parents was a lovely visit & hope they are doing well.
Great tour guide with Gee Soo, Good and interesting foods in the ethnic areas of Singapore. 5 star review For Gee Soo. Gee went out of his way to make the tour a success
We enjoyed the 6 hour walking food tour of Singapore. Our guide was Pam who is friendly, a great communicator and very knowledgeable of the varied Asian foods we tasted. Pam knew her way around the city resulting in a fun day. I would rate this tour as worthwhile and Pam as a great guide.
Gee Soo was an amazing guide. The tour has lots of food variety, and a good balance of eating and learning about Singapore.
We had the absolute pleasure of exploring Singapore with Gee as our tour guide, and what an unforgettable experience it was. Over the course of six immersive hours, Gee brought the country’s vibrant history, diverse culture, mouthwatering food, and rich tapestry of languages to life in a way that was both educational and incredibly entertaining. Gee’s professionalism, passion, and deep knowledge were evident from the start. He guided us with warmth and enthusiasm, weaving stories and insights that offered a deeper appreciation of how Singapore has evolved into the dynamic country it is today. Beyond just a guide, Gee exudes sincerity and has a genuinely big heart for the community—something that truly set this tour apart. From start to finish, it was non-stop fun and learning. We left feeling more connected to the culture, and incredibly grateful for the experience. Highly recommend Gee to anyone looking to explore Singapore with a guide who is authentic, engaging, and truly exceptional.
This was the highlight of our trip! Richard was fantastic, and shared so much information with us about the food, history and culture of Singapore. The food and drinks were delicious and he knew all the right spots to take us for the true local experience. Thanks Richard!
Richard was nothing short of amazing! His knowledge of the local area and his story telling added so much more to the food tasting experience. I will definitely be recommending this to my family and friends.
Gee was a wonderful host: friendly, fun, and very knowledgable about Singapore's history and culinary scene. I was a little nervous about signing up for a 6-hour tour, but it was a great way to see 4 different districts and try a lot of dishes. Thanks to some walking in between stops and being able to split dishes amongst the group, we were able to sample 18 foods in all at small restaurants and hawker stalls. Highly recommended!
Run, don’t walk! This tour exceeded all expectations. All of the food was amazing, not to mention everything was well planned and well paced out. Pamela was a great tour guide and took amazing care of our group. She was super knowledge, friendly, funny, and it was clear she had curated an intentional and delicious selection of food stops. I can’t recommend the tour enough, I would repeat it in an instant!
The experience was everything you hope for in a food tour - a super friendly guide, interesting local and cultural information and lots of delicious food. It's clear a lot of care has gone into choosing the places and dishes and Gee was so much fun to hang out with - the 6 hours seemed to fly past. As we were staying in Chinatown it was great to find a tour that didn't cover there and instead helped us to discover new areas. Gee also helped us with more suggestions after the tour was over, which was much appreciated and lead to another couple of food highlights of our trip.
Great food tour covering the four main cultural groups in Singapore. Gee Soo was a very professional and friendly guide - we learnt a lot about Singapore and sampled plenty of delicious food. He also provided fantastic tips for the rest of our stay in Singapore. I’d highly recommend this tour!
I had such a great experience on the Hello Singapore small group food tour led by Su Ling! From the time of booking to the time we all said goodbye to one another, everything was 5 stars. Communication with Hello Singapore was clear & efficient to know exactly where I needed to be and when. A 6 hour tour in the Singapore heat can sound a bit daunting, but time seriously FLEW by & Su made sure to keep us out of the sun as much as she could on our warm day walking around. The tour itself is fantastic. With a longer tour like this, you really get to take a deeper dive into all of the beautiful cultures that make up Singapore. You could tell that Su has a great relationship with all of the stops that we made! We were able to learn how things were made and why each dish is important part of the culture. Our group was smaller and it felt like we were just group a good friends hopping to different restaurants around the city by the end of the day. It was truly a perfect day that I will treasure forever. Thank you Su Ling!!!
Our guide Pamela did a wonderful job guiding us through four districts, where we sampled wonderful food, learnt about the local food culture and about Singapore’s history. The four districts beautifully highlighted different elements of Singapore’s multicultural society and how they come together in uniquely local cuisine. We sampled 17 different dishes and Pamela adapted the portions to match how much we could eat. Pamela is wonderfully enthusiastic, very friendly and very adaptable to the group’s interests - she is an absolute superstar. Highly recommended.
