Great museum! A lot to see especially how Singapore must have been for years ago
Very eye opening and highly informative, it made me appreciate the culture of this country even more. Cheers Koon was very helpful and kind to help us.
Very good experience and Chee Koon was a fantastic ambassador. Well done 👍🏻
Very immersive experience, being able to walk through everything and see how people loved and worked was awesome. We didn't realize they did the character guided tours, but I recommend it if you are there on Saturday!
Very nice and comfortable place for tourist and younger generation to visit and understand more about the living conditions of the Chinese migrants when they came to singapore decades ago. The places were preserved with real stories of the people who used to live in the quarters, some of their belongings and photos which bring the place to life and allow us to have an immersive experience.
I like all the videos and the stamps. It was very interesting to see how they were living in cramped conditions. Definitely worth a visit.
We really enjoyed visiting the Chinese Historical Museum in Singapore. It was a fascinating opportunity to learn more about the history of the Chinese community in Singapore, their journey, and the important role they played in shaping the city we see today. The museum offered a wonderful insight into the lives of early Chinese immigrants, their traditions, culture and the challenges they faced as they made Singapore their home. It was interesting to see how their stories, customs and contributions have helped shape Singapore’s identity. A worthwhile visit for anyone interested in understanding more about Singapore’s rich multicultural history and heritage.
Wonderful, it's worth the price as you can see the authentic living conditions
Amazingly done and perfectly documents the history of a special part of Singapore.
Worth the time and money! Brings us back in time
Had a wonderful experience at Chinatown Heritage Centre! It was fascinating to learn more about Singapore’s history and the lives of our early immigrants. The exhibits were interesting, meaningful and thoughtfully presented, giving us a glimpse into how people lived, worked and struggled in the past. It was a great way to appreciate our heritage and understand how far Singapore has come. Definitely worth a visit, especially for families and anyone interested in Singapore’s history. Highly recommended!
Always enjoy the visit. Worth a visit.
We enjoyed the entire tour and learned a lot about the rich history of Chinatown. We came on a Friday afternoon and it was not crowded. We loved playing the quizzes that can be scanned via QR code
Came here in the spur of the moment as i happened to pass by. As a local, I needed to only pay $15, which was not costly and the experience made it worth it. I learnt a lot more about the heritage of Chinatown. I had scanned each and every QR code and caught myself wanting to attempt more quizzes to learn more fun facts. The exhibits were very well crafted and therefore I feel that I could easily immerse myself within the experience. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here a lot.
friendly people that guided us for ticketing matters
came here for project filming it was great
Jia Yu provided exceptional support prior to the tour, offering a thorough and informative briefing that set a great tone for the trip.
Jia Yu has been really helpful with the tour and gave a good introduction before the trip.
So fun and a great way to learn about Chinatown's history while hiding from the heat!
The heritage centre was a lovely end to our ransacked puzzle hunt game. The exhibition is very well thought out, and super interesting. It was poignant recognising some of the furniture and items from my own childhood. Best part was its location - standing in the very shophouses where it used to happen.
Great way to know Singapore history
The physical setup of the place as well as the real life sound effects really made me feel like i travelled back in time. It felt enriching and opened ny eyes to the past generation that struggled to make singapore today.
Interesting and educational experience regarding a lesser known community in Singapore, the background audio also made it immersive
Fun, enlightening and educational
it was quite informative and gives us a rare glimpse into the past of Singapore
Really good experience. Tucked away on the busy tourist streets of Chinatown is the Chinatown Heritage Centre which has immortalized the past of the Chinese community here in Singapore. Beautifully presented with realistic settings of how lives were back then. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to people coming this way.
Good museum, i could learn a lot about singapore history espacially about chinatown which i found very interesting :)
It was interesting experience about how the country formed. So many explanations.
It was a very good experience seeing all the history
Really good. Learnt much about Chinatown
A fantastic walk through the different eras of Singapore's Chinatown. The layout was very clever and we felt like we were walking through time. Would recommend!
Wonderful little experience. Very rich museum and the QR code system is very efficient. Lovely hostess.
Really wonderful and informative!
The artifacts were real and preserved. It was informative. And I was able to relate to the information and the vintage artifacts a lot. As someone who loves vintage and history, I was intrigued by the artifacts presented because my relatives and grandparents still own them. And a lot of them were remnants in my paternal grandparents’ old house. It felt like time traveling.
Great visit experience.. bringing us back to the past...w
Not to be missed however long your stay in Singapore. Beautifully curated, it brings to life the social history, diverse culture and often tough lives of ordinary people who took the chance to make their future in an emerging Singapore. I will leave Singapore with a much deeper understanding of its people and the place.
Introductions are detailed, and you can learn a lot of history. nice and interesting experience.
It bright back old memories from my childhood in Hong Kong and China when my I was a kid at my grandparent's place at the fishing village near Shenzhen. How times have changed so rapidly with just past few decades. Amazing experience
Very interesting walk through history for early Chinese immigrants in Singapore. We found it eye opening relative to how tightly packed they were in very tight accommodation.
Today, our AAC brought 10 seniors to visit the Singapore Heritage Museum. The staffs were very friendly and helpful, making our visit a pleasant experience. As our seniors explored the museum, memories of the past came back naturally. They began sharing stories with one another, reminiscing about their childhood and saying how it felt like going back in time. It was heartwarming to see how these memories touched their hearts and brought them closer together.
Great experience A hidden gem in Singapore
It was very interesting and Miss Catherine elaborated it very well
Very nice guide nice interesting learned alot
I loved the house set up and the different workers rooms. It was nice to see how people lived.
Loved the exhibitions, which showcases the real life of early Chinese immigrants at Chinatown. Also loved the stamp rally, but would suggest the centre provide a card for visitors to collect the stamps!
Very nostalgic and interesting. Recommended to bring family here.
The Chinatown Heritage Centre delivers an unforgettable, deeply moving experience that transports you straight into the daily lives of Singapore's early Chinese migrants. Wandering through the meticulously restored shophouses on Pagoda Street feels less like visiting a standard museum and more like walking through living history, complete with authentic scents, sounds, and remarkably detailed living quarters. It’s an eye-opening, highly engaging tribute to the resilience and sacrifices of the people who helped build modern Singapore, and an absolute must-visit for anyone looking to connect with the city's true roots.
Wonderful and very authentic experience of Chinatown in the 1950s. Highly recommend!
