Our guide was fantastic. He engaged well with all our family and managed the pace of the tour well, adjusting for the changing weather. We enjoyed the jungle landscape and seeing the different animals.

Itinerary
During the orientation, our cycling leader will outfit you with your bike and helmet and provide safety details. Then take off along easy and moderate riding routes, both paved and unpaved, that the cycling leader will choose based on the conditions of the day. We will be making stops during the experience to allow breaks and photo-taking. There is a lot to enjoy with the island’s natural environment and be immersed in the local village vibes. One route may lead you to the island’s western half, where you can cycle to the Pekan Quarry. Perhaps visit the German Girl Shrine, and enjoy a view of the Western Straits of Johor. Or, you may journey east of Ubin to see fruit plantations near Chek Jawa and admire the nearly unspoiled beaches and coastal forests, home to native wildlife. Whatever route you take, at the end of your Ubin Bike Trail, you’ll leave with an appreciation for this tiny, lush piece of rural local life, yet still so close to the skyscrapers of downtown Singapore.

With little else to do but tour Singapore we finally made it out to Pula Ubin and evening though we live in Singapore for almost 3yrs we said we would do it like a tourist. The tour company has a nice shop close to the ferry terminal. The directions on the website are super spot on. The information briefing was so so. Our guide was really informative and the 4hr tour was a pretty nice way to spend a Sunday. When you go to the mangrove area just watch out for the monkeys because they are super bold!!! Tried to take my bottle of ice tea out of my hand...not once or twice but for a good 5 min kept coming at me! The 2 main issues was that the bikes were not in good condition, it took us almost 30min to find bikes that had proper breaks and gears. Also, the price is especially for tourist! I think if you are you for a little exploring you can rent a bike and tour yourself just fine. Overall a good experience.
It was a very interesting experience as I got to see various parts of ubin and many beautiful scenes of the nature. The staff was very friendly and engaging, sharing the history and the flora and fauna of ubin. Definitely would recommend it to others!!
The bicycle ride with our toddler was a positive and fun experience, the tour guide educate us about the island history and lifestyle, keep us safe from the monkeys, show us some places that I have not been (despite I cycled at Ubin a few times). It's great to do as a group activity :) Complete your day with mouth-watering seafood at Seasons Live restaurant If you are up for a challenge and physically fit, you can combine kayaking and cycling as a day tour.
I booked this trip for family. The tour guide was amazing but the equipment beyond unacceptable. After having to go back mid tour for a flat tyre on one of the bikes the other bicycles chains then snapped and my sister n law fell off her bike and has broken her ribs. We would not recommend this tour. Shame.
The first time I went on a guided bike tour, but I probably enjoyed it more when I was just exploring by myself on a separately hired bike. Being in a group meant I could not go at my own passe, but I also found that I saw more animal by myself. There are many maps and information panels along the way so you really don't need a guide. I have also been there on foot and that was great too. Some of the areas don't allow bikes and you need to walk anyway. Most of the bikes are not well maintained and some are not quite up to the rough terrain. But it is great going down hill and cooling off. Bring plenty of water as there is no drinking water (other than bottled)
Had a great trip with Tom around Pulau Ubin. He was very knowledgeable, helpful and kept checking in on us to see how we were doing. Only improvement is as a very tall person they could check this in advance and be prepared with big people bikes.
Dreadful on every level. You would be much better hiring a bike yourself and peddling round the well signed island. We were left abandoned for an hour as our guide was late. Other staff just sneaked out and left us without a word alone in the office so we had no idea if anyone would ever turn up. Despite calls and emails to the helpline no one picked up. We were just about to leave when our guide turned up. Bikes were grabbed from the hire shop opposite and in very poor repair. Helmet fell apart. Final straw was when we complained afterwards and were offered the chance of a cut price repeat experience with them. You couldn't write the script.
Getting the ferry across from the mainland is part of the fun so don't be scared if someone starts calling you over and pushing you onto a small boat. Once on the island, it's an easy walk (couple of hundred metres) past all the other bike shops and fruit stalls. That initial walk is where you should pay close attention because it gives you a good indication of what life was like in Singapore only a few decades ago. Look how far the country has come since then! Once we had found our group (great instructions in the email the organisers sent over - definitely read through them) and there was a period of about 15 minutes whilst we each found a bike (there are plenty to choose from) and adjusted them to our own settings. Have a quick ride about to test out the bike and make sure it's comfy and then you're on the move. We were given a choice of easy or hard. We chose the easier side of the island because it was a very hot day. We had two guides, one at the front and one at the back, and they stopped as often as we needed to tell us things about the island. There was a chance to see a group of monkeys playing in the trees and sitting in the road, as well as some wild boars and their babies. Half way through the afternoon we got off the bikes and walked through the mangroves to check out the wildlife of the island. There were toilet facilities dotted along the route. After about 3 or 4 hours we were getting tired and decided that it was time to call it aday but I got the feeling we could have gone on for longer if we wanted. They were very accommodating and friendly. My only negative comments would be that the bikes were probably not as up to date as they could be (although they were comfortable), and that the guide was a bit light on info, facts, and anecdotes. I'd suggest interacting more with the clientele so that there aren't as many moments of silence.
We spent the morning cycling around the island with Tom and Dennis, our knowledgeable and friendly guides. What a great choice for us - plenty of wildlife and forest trails - a nice change from the busy mainland. And to finish off, a bunch of Rambutan at a roadside stall. Thank you Tom and Dennis for a very special trip!
This is a excellent tour especially in a busy city like Singapore! We were able to maximizing the site seeing at different location without the spending time to wait for tour bus parking, drop-off, pickup. Zipping between china town, little India, and there is a Turkish town here too! Our guide Jeff is excellent and he is able to adjust the riding pace so nobody got lost from the pack.
Ubin is perfect for cycling as it is almost totally flat, with enough roads and trails to spend a few hours visiting spots around the island. The mountain bike trails, towards the West side, are easily accessible in about 15/20 minutes from the ferry. The blue trails are quite easy, making it a fun activity for anyone who can ride a bike. For the more advanced, the trail continues with a harder, black diamond, option.
The guide was super nice, kind, friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the place and of Singapore in general. A total delight to be with! The ride in Pulau Ubin is a pleasant one, with just a few steep parts and the rest a fun stroll amongst a canopy of trees. I got lucky and saw a community of monkeys and a family of boars right in front of our path. A great way to know a different angle of Singapore: a quiet, green and peaceful side :) Worth a visit!!
<p>Not our best cycle touring experience. Value for money very poor. Exorbitant cost for a very average guided cycle ride compared to similar tours we have experienced. Some incorrect details given regards location of bus required for transit to location caused delays in travel.<br/> No issue with the guide who was knowledgeable and courteous but in essence not much substance to the Tour. Cycles provided were not well serviced and limited gears available as a result.</p>
<p>This was a great tour that made us work hard in the Singapore heat. It was well paced and my quite fit 70 year old mother kept up with the cycling just fine. We saw wild pigs and some monkeys. Pack plenty of water, it's always hot and humid!</p>
<p>We wanted to see what it must have been like before Singapore was developed-- and this bike tour was a great way to see it. J.C. was our guide and he was polite, friendly, informative and enthusiastic. He showed us native plants, birds and we even caught a glimpse of a wild boar. We would recommend this tour heartily.</p>
<p>Pulau Ubin was a great escape from the busy city of Singapore. This tour covered most of the island and though there was a little bit of uphill, it wasn't that tough a ride. Our guide JC was very helpful and friendly, he just needs to speak a little slower!</p>
<p>This was an excellent experience we had. Our guide, Fadil was fantastic, very knowledgable as well as entertaining. A trip around the island was so worthwhile as it gave an insight into the original way of life in Singapore (in Kampong villages). This is definitely a must do.</p>
<p>Despite very hot and humid conditions, the tracks were mostly in shade so it was quite pleasant. Our tour guide was a local so had estensive knowledge of the island history, flora and fauna and he was easy to communicate with. He made sure we travelled on paths and at speeds that suited our age and fitness levels so we felt safe at all times. The island is quite beautiful and the actual riding time was about two hours, quite enough in thta heat. We would defintiely recommend it to others.</p>
<p>Had a great time. The guide was very considerate of our ages (72 and 71)' but we managed the ride with some walking.</p>
<p>Wow, what a work out but a great way to see the island and learn about the culture! Just great!</p>
<p>Very nice experience! The guide was knowledgeable and well prepared. He is a native from the island and has an interesting story about everything you will pass by. The island is worth seeing especially when you have a certain ideas of a "modern" Singapore. What you will see here will surprise you.</p>
<p>This was a very worthwhile outing. Palau Ubin is a jungle park, a short ferry ride from Urban Singapore. The guide was local and knew where to find wildllife and had the backstory on what was happening on the island. I think both the bike outings and paddle outings would be a veyr good way to spend a day in Singapore.</p>
<p>The tour was very nice an interesting. You learn a lot about the nature and wild life on the island and see some nice lookout points. It is more a cycling tour than a mountainbike tour although you are riding on a mountainbike. For those who are eager to do mountainbike sports on Pulau Ubin this tour doesn't fit. But its a good start to get an overview over the island and do mountainbike sports afterwards. The quality of the bikes could be better, but you have the chance to upgrade your bike for an extra charge.</p>
<p>I did this tour 3 Mar 13 (AUD46.93). I loved it! This was my 4th trip to Sgp and I was determined NOT to go anywhere near Orchard Rd. I wanted to see the real Sgp with some peace, quiet and tranquility-away from crazy crowds. I took a taxi from V Hotel (MRT Lavender) to Changi Ferry terminal. 20 mins, approx SGD20. (Bus #2 from Victoria Rd). I boarded the bumboat for SGD2.50 each way. The little wooden boats don't go to timetable, they just go when they have 12 passengers (full boat). It was a lovely 15 min ride over to Pulau Ubin (Ubin Island). I met my tour guide, Zhiguang right on time at 9.15am. I was amazed I was the only rider, so I had a personal tour guide for my money. Bonus! We went and got our mountain bikes and took off. What a beautiful National Park. Very few residents - those there are still living in traditional style houses. </p> <p>I absolutely loved peddling around the sealed roads with Zhiguang. He is studying Sports Science at College and we had some great chats about fitness and Singapore in general. He has been coming to Ubin since 2007 so he knows the island really well. I loved peddling on the "blue trail" the easy off road circuit - a bit of gravel, mud and grass, a few lumps and bumps but nothing crazy for a beginner like me. There is also "black diamond" and "double black diamond" trail for the serious riders - but you wont be doing them on this tour (ha ha). I loved riding around and seeing the "Butterfly Hill" (counted 7 varieties of butterfly in just a few minutes), the "Secret Spice Garden", the waterlilly pond, the Shrine to German Girl, the old granite quarry (now a reservoir filled with water forming a beautiful lake) and the amazing views over to Malaysia - I didn't realise it was so close you could swim across. I had a blast! I was so sorry it was over at 1.30pm. I invited Zhiguang to some lunch at one of the local restaurants. I wanted to thank him for the best tour - I enjoyed it HEAPS more than shopping on Orchard Rd!</p>
<p>Great ambitious and competent guide for myself, fantastic nature, will recommend this tour in Switzerland!</p>
<p>Very enjoyable day with nice scenery and great guides as company. Not even the rain could spoil the outing,</p>
Nice guidance in email before arrival. The reception also friendly and pleasant. The bikes are worn and there was no help for correct height adjustment etc., but it was easy enough. The guide only told little during the bike ride and it could only be heard by the person who was cycling right behind. When there was a stop, however, the guide was good at telling, so everyone could participate/hear. The island is beautiful and green. We saw monkeys and wild pigs. There are many loose dogs on the island - both wild and some with necklaces, and they are hungry - so bring a dog snack :-) A trip I would recommend.
