The outside is a bit old but 1 service is extraordinary - everyone from the bellman to the cleaners to front desk are excellent - love that if you don’t answer wake up call they check up on you. Pool is great. Our room had a washing machine. The place does need a paint job. Location is 6 star - near it all
A really excellent place to explore Singapore from and still get a local experience rather than just the heavy commercial and tourist feel of downtown. Well served by bus and subway. Excellent shopping. Rooms are spacious. All sorts of amazing food options nearby. People are friendly and relaxed. Room service from Cindy was fantastic. We loved it and it has a good local reputation as well "that's a good hotel" was a common response.
Village Hotel Katong in Singapore was a pleasant surprise, especially for travelers who appreciate comfort and genuine hospitality. Whether it was offering directions, assisting with transport, or simply greeting us with a warm smile, their service made the stay feel welcoming and smooth. The hotel itself is a bit older, but it’s clear that it has been well maintained. The facilities were consistently clean, and the overall environment felt cared for rather than dated. Housekeeping did a great job keeping everything tidy, which made it easy to relax after long days of exploring the city. The room was comfortable, with a bed that made it easy to get a good night’s rest. One standout feature was the shower—water pressure was excellent, which is always appreciated after a long day out in Singapore’s humidity. Overall, Village Hotel Katong offers solid value with reliable comfort, great service, and a location that makes it easy to explore the surrounding neighborhood.
This is my second stay at Hotel V Katong, a special shout out to Arusha and the front desk team who took my desperate calls for medical assistance, she brought me water and settled my mind about calling the in house doctor. The whole team including manager Prem was at my service bringing me food and drinks as I was recovering. Special mention to Kummar for bringing me my favourite drinks to my door! And also Zulhairi at front desk and amazing service in the lounge! The in house doctor was speedy, well informed and got me up on my feet within a few hours. I am truly grateful to the entire team at Hotel V for being there for me during my greatest time of need. Thank you for going beyond. This is a village that knows you by name, a truly personalised one of a kind hotel. My first stay and review: A rejuvenating 10 day holiday, complete with a relaxing spa inspired room with full sized bath tub, ample space for me to do my yoga any time of the day. The Peranakan Club Room is worth the extra few dollars as it includes two pieces of laundry per day, making my stay extremely convenient. Gym facilities were suitable for me and location is close to the beach. Breakfast buffet was gourmet and full of variety, they had Japanese, Chinese, Indian, western, and of course Nonya cuisine! Excellent service from front desk, cleaning staff, and lounge service. Special shout out to Kummar for always remembering my favourite snacks and drinks!
A hotel located in the Marine Parade area, conveniently close to an MRT station on the Thomson–East Coast Line. The rooms are a good size and comfortable, and the hotel provides all the basic facilities you would expect. The staff are friendly and provide good service. There are a few minor areas for improvement: cleanliness could be better, the toilet does not have a bidet spray, and the towels had a slight musty smell. Aside from these small issues, the overall stay was quite satisfactory.
